Cops has been taken off the force: The long-running reality TV pioneer has been cancelled at Paramount Network following a nearly seven-year run there, our sister site Deadline is reporting. “Cops is not on the Paramount Network, and we don’t have any current or future plans for it to return,” a network spokesperson said in a statement. The groundbreaking docuseries, which followed real law enforcement professionals from around the country as they patrolled the local streets and arrested criminals, debuted back in 1989 on Fox, airing there on Saturday nights for more than two decades until it was cancelled in 2013. It was soon picked up by Spike TV, though, which began airing new episodes later that year. It remained on the schedule when Spike TV changed its name to Paramount Network in 2018. Altogether, 32 seasons and more than 1,100 episodes of Cops have aired. With the current worldwide protests against systemic racism and police violence, though, Paramount Network decided to shelve the upcoming Cops season premiere last week, which had been slated to air June 8. Meanwhile, A&E Network opted not to air new episodes of Live PD, another police docuseries, on June 5 and 6 in light of recent events. The network “is still evaluating the right time to bring it back,” Deadline reports.

‘I KNOW YOU MET HIM; STOP NAME-DROPPING LANCE BASS!’ | As “Ketchup” began, Angie was so freaked out about being separated from Graham that even Will’s suggestion that they go on a booze cruise couldn’t convince her that she shouldn’t drag her son home from space camp. That being the case, he’d drive her. Which was good, “’cause I am out of gas,” Angie admitted. “Like all-the-way out.” On the road, Will got his pal to admit that OK, fine, maybe she had abandonment issues. But why shouldn’t she when everyone leaves — grandparents, pets, “every teacher at the end of the school year, gone like it meant nothing… every pen I’ve ever owned… ” Graham’s father… Aha! Sure that he’d gotten to the root of Angie’s problem, he got her to tell him about her summer touring with “the sexiest man I had ever seen” — Derek (Leighton Meester’s real-life husband, O.C. vet Adam Brody). He’d even seemed excited about the prospect of becoming a dad, yet “next thing I knew, he left me at a bus stop in Sacramento.” So fine, she had abandonment issues. “But I got a bus thing, too.” Believe it or not, the story got worse. Derek had never even tried to meet Graham, though he lives only a couple of hours away. “It’s like fire up an audio book and do the right thing, you hot doofus!” cried Angie.
Suddenly, Will had a brilliant, terrible idea: They should forget all about space camp and track down Derek so that Angie could give him a piece of her mind. “I’m gonna use all the cuss words!” she declared. She was even going to invent a few new ones, like… um… shoehead? Alas, once they pulled into the drive-thru of Ratso’s Burgers, Burritos & Teriyaki (ugh!), Angie lost her nerve. Since cars had pulled in behind them, Will couldn’t back out, either — they’d have to pass Derek at the window! While Angie hid in the backseat, she had Will order enough food to cater the show’s wrap party. When he was finally face to handsome face with Derek, Will went off on him for forgetting the ketchup — meaning his responsibilities as a father. Derek had made the fries — meaning Graham — and then hadn’t provided ketchup. But the fry is still amazing, Will yelled, because the salt — meaning Angie — is awesome! Before the confrontation with a bewildered Derek was through, Will got physical and smushed Graham’s dad’s face against the car window… pretty much forcing him and Angie to see one another. Derek was eager to talk to his old flame, but she wasn’t ready, so she and Will left with her babydaddy’s email on the shard of a demo CD Will had broken in half.
‘I’M A VERY BUSY SINGLE DAD TRYING TO HAVE IT ALL’ | Meanwhile, Douglas was seething with jealousy over Poppy and Ron’s kiss when Miggy arrived with the twins. “I’m dealing with something here,” grumbled Douglas. “Can you come back in 10 years?” They could not and they would not — they had a business proposal in which they wanted the widower to invest: Beach Sneaks. The trio had a whole presentation to do, but “it’s a bag on a shoe,” said Douglas seconds after they began. “I get it.” And no way would he invest in the idiotic idea. Shortly, Poppy arrived to discuss what he’d witnessed the previous night and quickly tired of his obvious lies (that he hadn’t been in front of her place, that he’d only been there to return Rory’s blazer, Liza). So she accused him of being scared to tell her the truth about the way he felt — and added that that was a fear he didn’t share with Ron, who’d called off his wedding!
Later, Miggy returned to inform Douglas that he’d pitched Beach Sneaks to a real business genius, who’d bought in on the spot: Dwayne! He’d even gotten a website put up… that said Beach Sneaks by Dwayne. Dang it! “Only an idiot would trust Dwayne,” sighed Douglas. Before stomping out, Miggy said that he was tired of being called dumb. And even if he was ditsy, at least he led with his heart — when was the last time Douglas did that? Inspired, Douglas made a beeline for Poppy’s. She was done with Ron, she said. For good this time. She’d even told him to marry Sharon. Why? asked Douglas. Poppy’s smile did a nice job of answering that question. In return, he admitted that he hadn’t been outside her place because of Liza but because of “feelings.” Neither of them knew where they were going from there, but Poppy had to hurry over to the nuptials… which she was chagrined to be attending alone. Uh-uh. She wouldn’t be alone, Douglas said.
‘THANK YOU FOR HULKING OUT FOR ME’ | As the episode and the season neared their conclusions, Will and Angie chowed down on all that food he’d ordered while taking in the super romantic view from a hilltop. He wouldn’t have guessed that Derek would be her type. “I like… different things now,” she replied. Was Tracy his type? Well, yeah, he said. But he had “other types,” too. As the moment got more and more loaded with possibility, Angie thanked him for his sweet ketchup tirade. “What can I say? I care deeply about condiments… and you,” he admitted. And it looked for a hot second like they might kiss, but just when it would’ve happened… argh! Sophie Facetimed! Later, we joined Poppy and Douglas as they were about to enter Ron and Sharon’s wedding — and so did Will, Angie and Miggy! Douglas had told Poppy she wouldn’t have to go it alone! After Douglas showed Miggy that he’d bought him a website for all of his future sneaker designs — “You know my name isn’t Mickey, right?” (oops!) — he took Poppy’s hand, and into the ceremony they went. So, what did you think of the finale? Were you hoping Will and Angie would kiss? Too soon? Are you glad Douglas and Poppy got together? Hit the comments after you grade the episode below.

Yu Delu and Cao Yupeng admitted to manipulating the scores of matches they played in certain ranking tournaments from 2015-17, following an investigation resulting from suspicious betting patterns in the Far East.
Yu, ranked No. 52, was handed a suspension of 10 years and nine months, and ordered to pay costs of 20,000 pounds ($ 25,000). He was involved in fixing five matches across five tournaments over a period of 2} years to earn money for himself and friends, and also admitted to lying to investigators and betting on snooker when banned from doing so.
Cao, ranked No. 44, was banned for six years — with 3{ years of that ban suspended — for fixing the outcome of three of his matches in 2016, including one at the prestigious UK Championship.
His suspension was reduced from six years because he showed remorse. He had to pay costs of more than 15,000 pounds ($ 19,800).
They are the longest suspensions for fixing since English player Stephen Lee was banned for 12 years in 2013. Yu would have received a ban of the same length had he not decided late in the investigation to plead guilty.
The disciplinary panel of the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association, which announced the bans, said Yu took “the initiative in offering match-fixing services” and, in one match, “the stakes placed on the result were 65,000 pounds and would have generated a profit of 86,000 pounds.”
“The misconduct of Mr. Delu represents a scourge to the game of snooker,” the panel said.
Yu won two of the five matches he agreed to fix, having arranged for the correct score to be 4-3 in frames to either player. Cao lost all three of the matches he agreed to fix.
“It is very sad,” WPBSA chairman Jason Ferguson said, “when talented players are attracted to the opportunity to make money from fixing matches.”
Police have conspicuously avoided taking responsibility for the death of Emantic Bradford Jr. after shooting and killing him during a Thanksgiving night melee at a Birmingham mall. Four press releases later, they have not spoken directly to his family, who have called for the release of body-cam footage of the altercation.
Hoover police have changed their story repeatedly regarding Thursday night’s shooting at the Riverchase Galleria in Birmingham. After initially congratulating themselves on the “heroic” takedown of Bradford, whom they identified as the gunman who wounded a 12-year-old girl and an 18-year-old man when a fight broke out at the mall, officers soon learned through witness interviews and forensic evidence that they’d shot the wrong man – and that the real shooter was still on the loose.
Police took the unusual step of admitting their mistake in a statement released on Friday night. While they stopped short of apologizing to Bradford’s family, they did express “regret that our initial media release was not totally accurate.” The officer who shot Bradford was placed on administrative leave and the investigation was turned over to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA).
By Monday morning, that statement had also been memory-holed – no longer available on @HooverPD’s Twitter – and the story had changed again, this time emphasizing that Bradford had “brandished a gun during the seconds following the gunshots, which instantly heightened the sense of threat” – implying that Bradford was to blame for his own murder by making the officer fear for his safety in the “chaotic scene.”
Bradford’s father, a veteran correctional officer, told the media his son had a license to carry his weapon. Meanwhile, witnesses’ stories cast the official story in a dim light – some claimed the officer did not verbally warn Bradford before shooting him in the face, while others claim several people were “brandishing” guns during the fight. The fourth and final press release from @HooverPD qualifies the term “brandish” to mean “Mr. Bradford had a gun in his hand.”
Civil rights attorney Benjamin Crump, who has been retained by Bradford’s family, decried the shooting as an example of institutionalized police racism. The officer “saw a black man with a gun, and he made his determination that he must be a criminal,” he said at a press conference on Sunday, claiming officers even barred a nurse who witnessed the shooting from trying to save Bradford’s life. Crump represented the family of Tamir Rice, the 12-year-old shot by police who claimed to mistake his toy gun for a real weapon, as well as Trayvon Martin, shot by George Zimmerman under Florida’s infamous “stand your ground” laws.

Det. Victor Falcon isn’t the only cop to complain about Sgt. Ann Marie Guerra’s public displays of lingerie. Several of his colleagues have “objected to her leaving her panties on the unisex shower knob and outside her locker for all to see,” according to a source quoted in the NY Post.
Brooklyn’s 72nd precinct appears to be a hotbed for the battle between the sexes, with Guerra having taken to social media in the past to cast aspersions on her coworkers’ manhoods. “Sgt. Guerra stated to me that if the girl didn’t call me back, it is because I had a little d—k,” Falcon said in a complaint he filed against his boss with the Equal Employment Opportunity Office.
The full frontal panty assault was merely the straw that broke the camel’s back for Falcon, who additionally accuses Guerra of refusing his shift-change and overtime requests out of spite in the EEO complaint. Other precinct malcontents merely call her a “bullying man-hater.”
Guerra is reportedly fond of over-sharing about her own sex life, regaling Falcon and others with tales of sex toy usage even while “emasculating men and commenting on the size of their anatomy,” according to the source. She remains on duty, free to redecorate the locker room to her heart’s content.
The 72nd precinct has had its share of scandals recently, with one detective stripped of his gun and badge for involvement in a prostitution and gambling ring and the precinct commander sued by a neighborhood club owner.
Dirty cops are one thing, but what about dirty panties? Falcon insists the pair that ended up in his mouth were dirty, while Guerra allegedly screamed “They are f—ing clean!” as she crammed them into her colleague’s face.

A Florida woman has faced ridicule online after she was recorded calling the police on a black man while he shouted and cheered from the sidelines during his teenage son’s soccer game.
The woman, who was dubbed ‘Golfcart Gail’ in a now viral Facebook post (but whose name, we’re guessing, is probably not Gail), is seen sitting behind the wheel in a golf cart, calling the police on the father and accusing him of harassing the referee.
According to Ginger Williams, who wrote the viral post, the man had simply been shouting at his son and telling him to obey the referee’s orders. “This man was simply trying to watch his son’s soccer game and cheer for him from the sides,” Williams wrote.
But that was all a bit too much for Golfcart Gail, who Williams wrote decided to “spring into action” and approach the man to remind him that his so-called harassment would not be tolerated. Probably a bit confused, the man told the woman that he was simply speaking to his own son.
“For whatever reason, Golfcart Gail just would not let this go. She continued to harass and beleaguer this parent,” Williams explained.
Eventually, the man even offered to leave to avoid creating a bigger situation, but at that point, as he packed up his things, the woman in the golfcart decided to call the police over his “threatening” behavior.

It later turned out that the woman was a “field marshal” at the park, but a spokesman for the St. Johns County Sheriff’s office did not confirm to NBC News whether or not she had been disciplined for her outburst.
Another woman at the scene also filmed what was going on and told NBC she felt there was “no reason” to get the police involved and said she started to film when the woman in the golfcart “would not leave the father alone”.
The disturbance even caused the game to be delayed at one point. “Shame on you Golfcart Gail for what you did to this man and to the children who had to see this,” Williams wrote in her Facebook post.
We need to stop giving them cute names because now they are doing it for the attention. And they need to be charged!

Recently a number videos have appeared online showing white people calling the police on black people for what seems to be no real reason. In May, a white student called the police on a black student while she was taking a nap in the common room of her dorm. In another peculiar incident, a white woman called the police on a black family who were having a barbecue — and in June, a woman was nicknamed ‘Permit Patty’ after calling the police on a black girl selling bottles of water outside her house.
More recently, a white woman in St. Louis was fired after a video emerged online of her attempting to block a black man from entering his own apartment complex, though she claims she was not being racist and simply suspected he might not actually live there, since she didn’t see him using a key fob to enter the building.

Two other women who were at the teen match in Ponte Vedra, Florida, over the weekend took videos and posted about the incident on Facebook — uploading images of the field marshal who called the police, showing her sitting in a blue golfcart with a phone to her ear and nicknaming her “Golfcart Gail.”
“A parent at my son’s soccer game had the police called on him for cheering for his son during the game,” posted Ginger Galore Williams, with the header “Soccer While Black.”
The unnamed dad had yelled “The ref is right!” when he saw his kid was frustrated by a call, but “Golfcart Gail” took offence, Williams said.
“[She] decided to spring into action and rapidly approach this parent and remind him that harassment would not be tolerated. He informed her that he was only speaking to his son,” Williams posted.
The dad offered to leave with his wife to avoid a scene, but “Golfcart Gail” informed him she was calling the cops “because she no longer felt safe with his threatening behaviour,” according to Williams.
“This man was peacefully leaving his own son’s soccer game to avoid exactly this situation,” wrote Williams. “Shame on you Golfcart Gail for what you did to this man and to the children who had to see this. Can you imagine how afraid his child must have been to see this happening?!”
Another woman, Maria Morale-Walther, who also recorded the incident, told First Coast News that “at no point” was the dad aggressive, though she heard the field marshal tell a St. Johns County sheriff’s deputy she “feared for herself and the children because she didn’t know what [the father] was capable of.”
One of the deputies on scene can be heard on video telling Williams that it’s within the marshal’s right to call the police and that he was there to defuse the situation, according to the outlet.
Deputies didn’t detain the dad.
The incident is the latest in a long series of videos posted to social media showing white women — “BBQ Betty,” “Permit Patty,” “Cornerstore Caroline” — calling the cops on black people over seemingly mundane acts.

An Ohio man currently being prosecuted for possession of child pornography is believed to be the first person to have unlocked his Face ID-enabled iPhone after being presented with a warrant and being ordered to do so by law enforcement.
The case of United States v. Grant Michalski was first reported on September 30 by Forbes.
However, whether or not that purported federal warrant specifically authorized such a search, as authorities claim, is unclear—the warrant appears to be sealed by the court. Ars has been unable to locate a copy to see if the agent’s account is accurate. Why this warrant would remain sealed is also unclear, given that a later warrant to specifically search the suspect’s phone is public.

A Florida state appellate court has made two recent pro-privacy rulings that take into account a landmark Supreme Court case from earlier this year.
In Florida v. Sylvestre, the District Court of Appeal of the State of Florida, Fourth District, affirmed a lower court’s granting of a motion to suppress evidence. In doing so, the court found that the warrantless use of a stingray is unconstitutional.
In the second case, Ferrari v. Florida, the Fourth District reversed a lower court ruling that denied the suppression of cell-site location information (CSLI). This data was specifically at issue in the June 2018 Supreme Court decision, Carpenter v. United States.
