A man has been convicted of killing and cooking his dog before feeding the animal to another pet. A jury deliberated for five minutes before finding the defendant guilty of causing unnecessary suffering to the animal.

Last December, 27-year-old Dominic O’Connor – formerly William Mocsari, of Kircubbin, County Down – used a leash to strangle his four-year-old collie, Jess, before cooking it with onions and an Oxo cube, Downpatrick Crown Court was told.

Over the course of a two-day trial, recordings of O’Connor’s police interview were heard, in which the defendant explained that he “cooked it and fed it to the other dog with a few onions and an Oxo cube and salt and pepper.”

O’Connor then cut up the leftover carcass before burning the remains and discarding them in Portavogie harbor. The incident came to light when O’Connor told hospital staff what had happened.

His statement was reported to police, who found burnt dog hair in a grate when they searched his home. One officer testified that he witnessed “a stringy type of meat like stewing steak in a pot in the kitchen and a similar pot of stew.”

O’Connor, who suffers from an unspecified personality disorder, will be sentenced next month.

It took 18 months to cook, but Nukebox‘s Food Truck Chef mobile game has come out well done. The game generated more than 3 million downloads in its first 10 days, and the Indian developer said it is on track to make $ 500,000 revenue in its first 45 days.

Food Truck Chef is available on Android and iOS, and it has been the No. 1 casual game in the U.S. and more than 100 countries, said Amit Hardi, the CEO of Bangalore-based Nukebox Studios, in an email to GamesBeat. That’s a rare hit for an Indian game company, and it shows that country is climbing the food chain in the $ 109 billion global game business.

Nukebox started as a studio about three years ago. It churned through as many as 15 ideas for games, and it trashed them. But once it came upon the food truck concept, it went to work on it for 18 months. The work is paying off. It has a rating of 4.5 stars out of 5 on the app stores, with tens of thousands of ratings on Google Play and iOS. People have downloaded Food Truck Chef about once every 5 seconds since its release on iOS on July 25 and Android on August 17. All told, it now has more than 4 million downloads. Hardi believes the company could break even on the game within a couple of weeks.

A pastor in the US has claimed a gay man was “cured” of his sexuality by eating a special cake cooked by “saved” ex-prostitutes and “anointed with prayer.”

Lance Wallnau, a Christian speaker who takes credit for US President Donald Trump’s election victory, was Periscoping last week when a viewer asked him to pray for her gay son.

He responded by telling his viewers he had read a “testimony” that day about a bar owner who was gay.

“There were some hookers in his bar, who got saved,” Wallnau said, explaining that they had been “saved” by another man who used to hang out at the bar.

“They baked a cake for the owner of the bar, who was gay, and very adamantly anti-Christian,” he said. “They basically prayed over the cake – it was an anointed cake.”

“The power of God hit him when he was eating the cake,” Wallnau claimed. When the man went back to the guy who had given him the cake, he told him he had had a “weird experience” when eating the cake.

“Well that was the presence of God,” the man said.

Wallnau said the man soon baptized the bar owner, and “the spirit that was working him got broken off.”
