Naga Munchetty is part of the BBC Breakfast line-up alongside Dan Walker, Carol Kirkwood and others. During her time on the flagship morning show, she has suffered a number of unfortunate on-air gaffes and regularly been called out on social media. One eagle-eyed viewer noticed a small yet amusing mistake during one BBC broadcast when she got Daniel Craig, star of James Bond ‘No Time To Die’, ever so slightly wrong.   

Naga was discussing the release of 007 flick ‘Spectre’ when the unlucky TV blunder happened back in 2015.

The film starred a number of big celebrity names including Christoph Waltz, Ralph Fiennes, Ben Wishaw, Naomie Harris and of course Daniel Craig. 

But when Naga tried to pronounce the name of the actor who played the fictional British secret agent she seemed to be lost for words. 

The host said: “Kate, does this bond stay in the modern age, we’ve seen quite a lot of that in Craig David…”

Recognising her error, she mumbled and said “erm” as she seemed to be desperately wracking her mind for the actor’s name. 

Craig David joined the conversation when he quipped: “When you know the new music is about to drop it’s hard to think straight.” 

Others on social media commented that the host “must be as tired” and others wrote puns about the singer’s ‘7 Days’ lyrics.

One tweeted: “That nice lady on BBC Breakfast just said Craig David instead of Daniel Craig. Well, he does act like James Bond from Wednesday to Saturday.”

Another added: “Craig David WOULD be a good Bond. Let’s make it happen people.”

Gavin Williamson discussed the recent announcement by the government concerning school closures and the cancelling of GCSE and A-Level exams on Good Morning Britain. Ranvir Singh pressed the Education Secretary for answers over how current students will achieve their qualifications but slammed the MP for “not proving clarity” over the unprecedented situation amid the coronavirus pandemic. 

Singh quizzed Williamson on the measures announced by Boris Johnson in yesterday’s press conference which included closing UK schools.

The Prime Minister added that children whose parents are key workers will continue to attend school and Singh grilled Williamson on the details of these proposals. 

When asked who falls into the key worker categories, Williamson explained: “Doctors, nurses and those on the front line. 

“Teachers and social workers who are absolutely key to key workers who have children being able to get to work.”

He reiterated the term was “much more broader” than those who work for the NHS and includes “areas of the economy that are essential to national infrastructure”.

Williamson explained the government would be issuing a full list of all the categories key workers fall into.

Adil Ray then quizzed Williamson on the impact closures with have on GCSE and A-Level pupils who now face uncertainty over they qualifications.

Williamson said: “Exams aren’t going to be taking place in this academic year. We’re going to be doing everything we can to ensure that people receive their GCSE and A Level grades in August as they would usually do. 

She asked: “I know you’re going to bring out more detail [but if] exams won’t be held this year, will the qualifications be based on predicted grades, mock exams, coursework?”

Williamson replied: “We have got a clear outline of what we’re doing and that’s why we’re taking the opportunity to speak with some of those organisations that are going to be responsible for delivery on this.

“We’re not cancelling GCSEs or A Levels, but exams aren’t going to be taking place. 

“We’ll bring out the details tomorrow, but we need to give some of those organisations the opportunity to highlight if there are any unintended consequences as a result of our plans.”

He continued: “But also, I have to be absolutely honest with you here, any sort of route we go down is not as good as having a proper set of exams… 

“This isn’t something that any education secretary would want to be making the decision on. 

“But what’s really important is when children receive their grades, that there’s a proper appeals process and that there’s an ability to address it if they feel as if that is not simply a proper reflection of the work and study that they’ve done.”

“I completely understand the worry and concern people have,” the educational secretary added.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV at 6am.

The BBC correspondent joined Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid on Good Morning Britain today and was probed over the corporation’s decision to cancel the free TV licence fee for over 75s. The 70-year-old clarified not all over-75s would lose their free TV licence however, due to confusion surrounding the requirements to have obtain one, not all of those entitled had claimed it.

Piers began: “A lot of anger as the BBC entered into a deal with the Conservatives and took on free licence fee.”

“The BBC took it on but only until the end of a particular period and then it was up to the BBC to decide what to do,” Andrew clarified.

“I know plenty of well off 75-year-old’s. Should they get a free TV licence?”

Piers hit back: “But there are lots of very poor 75-year-olds.”

“But most of them will still get it,” Andrew explained.

But Piers wasn’t impressed as he told the presenter: “Most of them don’t claim it.”

Andrew continued: “Then there should be a campaign, and perhaps the BBC should be a part of that, to encourage them to do so.

“I mean, the government played a slight of hand here, they basically dumped social policy onto the BBC.”

“I think that’s partly because they’ve been misled into thinking they’re going to lose their free licence,” Andrew replied.

“They’re the ones that won’t lose their free licence, nor should they lose it.”

Also in the interview, Andrew gave his opinion on Brexit developments saying he was “deeply depressed”.

“I’m depressed by the approached of by both Remain and Leave,” he said. “Both involved running down our country.”

He added: “Despite the deep tribal differences, in or out of the EU, this is still a great country.

The former world No 1 did not look at his best out on the course at Le Golf National.

There are concerns Woods may be carrying a back injury.

But Furyk insists he is not concerned by Woods’ fitness after confirming he will play alongside Reed again on Saturday morning.

Woods only won his first PGA Tour title in five years earlier this month as his slow rise back to the top of golf continues.

He will partner Reed on Saturday and again face off against Francesco Molinari and Tommy Fleetwood.

Woods himself has played down concerns his back is causing him problems in the .

“I’ll be ready come tomorrow whenever captain puts me out,” Woods said. “I’m not going to work on anything. My game is fine.

And Furyk defended his decision to play Mickelson.

“He’s got a lot of experience, most experienced Ryder Cupper of all-time,” Furyk said.

“I’ve heard some of the rumblings… (but) it’s Phil Mickelson, major champion.

“He’s a very good iron player so I felt comfortable.

“I put that confidence in him and I’ll be honest I’d do it again. I have a lot of confidence in all 12.”

Videos from inside an Emirates plane grounded and quarantined at JFK airport show confusion among the passengers. The plane was quarantined after some passengers reportedly fell ill during a flight from Dubai.

Emirates Flight 203 landed Wednesday morning, after the pilot noticed passengers coughing and exhibiting symptoms of fever. The plane has since been parked in a staging area at the airport, as emergency response teams check passengers and investigate the cause of the illness.

Video footage from inside shows confusion on board the plane, as officials try to clear the aisles and keep passengers in their seats. One passenger, Erin Sykes, said that many people on board seemed sick before the flight even took off. She described the plane as “basically a flying infirmary,” and added that she asked cabin crew for a mask before the 14-hour flight, so she wouldn’t become sick herself.

As passenges slowly disembarked the plane, emergency personnel checked their temperatures, looking for signs of sickness.

New York Port Authority police and officials from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are monitoring the situation, as is the NYPD’s Counterterrorism Bureau. Reports from the ground indicate the mystery illness may be food-related, although some passengers, like Sykes, dispute this.

The employee who sent out the false “incoming ballistic missile” alert to the state of Hawaii in mid-January has been fired, and Vern Miyagi, the administrator for the Hawaii Emergency Management Agency (HI-EMA), has resigned.

The incident, which left Hawaii residents in a panic for 38 minutes thinking a ballistic missile was bound for their state, was initially blamed on bad software—HI-EMA said that an employee had accidentally selected the wrong choice in a menu of confusing choices. The governor’s office circulated two different mockups that illustrated the design that employees had to navigate to effectively work the system.

But then on Tuesday, the Federal Communications Commission released a preliminary report saying that the employee actually thought the internal announcement of an “exercise” was the real thing because the employee claimed not to have heard the “exercise” portion of the recording, which was followed by another recorded message stating “this is not a drill.” The FCC admitted it couldn’t vet the credibility of the employee’s claim, because the employee refused to be interviewed by the FCC.

Car finance deals and finance offers are becoming more popular in the UK as the cost of owning a car increases.

They offer drivers a brand new car for sometimes as little as a few hundred pounds a month.

Security of mind knowing that these cars are less likely to go wrong and breakdown and the status symbol of owning a new motor are a number of the attractive prospects of these deals.

Finance contracts such as Personal Contract Purchase (PCP) and Personal Contract Hire (PCH) are expected to account for almost 90 per cent of new car sales in the UK.

One problem with these plans is that they are confusing drivers, with some saying they are “not in complete control” of repayments.

According to RAC Flexion research, 72 per cent of drivers opt for the first policy they are offered and 10 per cent believe that they are not in complete control of the repayments.

A third admitted that they felt they have little control over how much deposit they paid, the scale of their optional final payment or  size of their monthly payments.

In a bid to afford these deals almost half (45 per cent) ion drivers have admitted to having to cut back on other bills to afford the repayments.

A further 12 per cent of drivers said they were forced to hand back their car because they could not afford the payments which result in them paying a penalty charge.

RAC Flexiloan spokesman Alastair Crossley said: “We saw an opportunity to provide those looking for their next car with a radically different offering and one that puts them in complete control from beginning to end.

“Flexiloan gives buyers the flexibility which schemes like PCP offer, but then offers so much more: buyers can choose to buy any car that is at least two years old and can arrange their finance securely online, meaning there is no need for awkward conversations with pushy sales agents.

“Just as the RAC has innovated to help its members at the roadside – such as being the first breakdown company to provide drivers with a universal spare wheel if their car doesn’t have one in the boot – we are now determined to do the same when it comes to finance.”

In a response to the growing number of drivers struggling to make car finance payments, RAC has launch Flexiloan which allows drivers to tailor a deal to their needs.
