In a now viral video, comedian Sandy Honig recorded herself uncontrollably vomiting around an Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield office park after the insurance company denied coverage for a procedure that would help alleviate her stomach-churning symptoms. 

Honig, who suffers from partial paralysis of her stomach due to a condition called gastroparesis, cannot normally digest food and has been near-constantly nausated for the past three years since the onset of her symptoms. Almost anything she eats, she throws up. 

"It's hard to get up in the morning when the first thing you have to do is drink a cup of water, and that makes you sick," Honig told Vice News. 

A common treatment for the condition are Botox injections, which help patients more easily digest food by relaxing the part of the stomach connected to the small intestine. The $ 3,000 treatment provides relief for several months at a time.

After being denied coverage for the injections in January — Honig told NBC News Anthem determined they were "medically unnecessary" — Honig, who is a writer for Three Busy Debras on Adult Swim and HBO Max, found herself angry enough to act against the health insurance giant in the nearly 3-minute video. 

"I mean, this video was just made from complete rage," she told Teen Vogue.

The clip shows Honig at an office park where she repeatedly vomits while discussing her plight and the insurance appeals process with passers-by. She attempted to show up directly to the Anthem offices, but was denied entry without an employee badge: "Even if I'm a member of the Anthem family?" Honig asks an employee in the video.

On camera in front of the Anthem office, Honig vomits into an envelope she joked contained her appeals letter to the insurance company — "relevant documentation," she called it — and seals it up. She told Vice News she did not actually send the envelope and her doctor mailed her real appeal letter. 

In addition to denying her procedure, the company allegedly also called the police on Honig following the stunt. 

"It was such a lovely surprise to get a visit from two men armed with guns and batons in my own home," Honig says in the video, showing two Los Angeles Police Department officers who arrived at her home to perform a wellness check on her. 

Honig told Teen Vogue she originally thought the officers were there to ticket her for trespassing, but actually were called to perform the check to ensure she was not a danger to herself or others.

"It was very interesting," Honig told Teen Vogue. "I was playing with putting this in the video, but it's actually way too complicated — I don't have a concise way of explaining it, but what the cop was telling me was that if I were to harm myself, [the insurance company] could be liable because they had evidence that I was, you know, acting erratically. They were basically covering their own ass by calling the cops on me. It was just insane."

Representatives for Anthem did not immediately respond to Insider's request for comment, but told NBC News the insurance company denied the Botox injections to "ensure Ms. Honig gets the right treatment for her particular condition."

"Our clinical team has carefully reviewed her case and our medical policies, and the existing medical evidence does not support the treatment she is requesting for her condition," Anthem told NBC News. "Therefore, it is not a covered benefit under the family's health plan."

"Health insurance is fucking made-up," Honig told Vice News.

A representative for Honig did not immediately respond to Insider's request for comment.

Actor-comedian Jerry Stiller, arguably best known as the irritable Frank Costanza, father of Jason Alexander’s George Costanza, on Seinfeld, has died. He was 92.

His actor-son Ben Stiller confirmed the news on social media early Monday, writing, “I’m sad to say that my father, Jerry Stiller, passed away from natural causes.  He was a great dad and grandfather, and the most dedicated husband to Anne for about 62 years. He will be greatly missed. Love you Dad.”

Stiller famously served as one half of the comedy duo Stiller and Meara opposite his wife, Anne Meara, who died in 2015. The pair were among the first graduates of the Second City comedy troupe.

In addition to his recurring gig on Seinfeld (in which he made 26 total appearances over the series’ nine-season run), Stiller’s other major TV credit was the series-regular role as Arthur Spooner — widowed dad of Leah Remini’s Carrie — on CBS’ The King of Queens. He also lent his voice to the Disney Channel animated series Fish Hooks.

On the big screen, Stiller co-starred opposite son Ben in Zoolander, Heavyweights, Hot Pursuit, The Heartbreak Kid and Zoolander 2.

In a week that saw the disappearance of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi, who was a vocal critic of its government, Oliver roasted the WWE for its close relationship with the nation.

Saudi Arabia has denied any wrongdoing in the disappearance.

WWE recently signed a 10-year deal with the Saudi General Sports Authority and held its first event in the country, the Greatest Royal Rumble, in Jeddah in April, which attracted a crowd of 60,000.

A WWE statement said: “We are currently monitoring the situation.”

But Oliver doesn’t hold back and slammed the promotion for its stance on Saudi Arabia.

“MBS’ (Saudi Prince Mohammed Bin Salman) PR push isn’t just toward attracting businesses, it’s also toward changing the world’s perception of Saudi Arabia,” Oliver said.

“To that end, he struck a 10-year deal with one of the most popular and most American franchises there is — World Wresting Entertainment, or WWE.

“They held their first of many events there back in April, and audiences around the world were treated to wall-to-wall propaganda about the new Saudi Arabia, including video showing women happily driving, men dancing and tourist destination beauty shots as well as constant excited compliments throughout the broadcast.”

After showing some of April’s broadcast from the country in which the commentators praise the country and superstar John Cena thanks the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Oliver added the punchline.

“Wow. It seems the WWE is as overtly pro-Saudi Arabia as it is lately homoerotic, which is to say, intensely.”

It didn’t end there for WWE who later in the show latched on to the statement that the WWE were “monitoring the situation”.

“As for the WWE, while they say they are monitoring the situation, their gigantic Crown Jewel event is still scheduled for November, meaning John Cena could well be back there doing this, which I guess in this context means you don’t see these human rights abuses right here,” Oliver said as he waved his hand in front of his face.

WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels had accepted a lucrative offer to come out of retirement to compete at Crown Jewel and was set to team with DX partner Triple H to take on The Undertaker and Kane.

Brock Lesnar will also be in action as he attempts to regain the Universal Title from Roman Reigns in a triple threat that also includes Braun Strowman.

While the WWE has yet to announce its intentions, references to Saudi Arabia have been removed from the event listing.

A video featuring former Vice President Dick Cheney signing a ‘waterboarding’ device’ has gone viral. The clip is a teaser for comedian Sacha Baron Cohen’s new undercover-in-character series called ‘Who is America?’

Cheney himself teased the show in a clip posted Monday by Showtime, the premium-cable network where ‘Who is America?’ is set to premiere next Sunday. The clip promised to showcase Cohen “as you’ve never, ever seen him before.”

Cohen gained fame – and notoriety – by doing in-character interview comedy, starting with his 2000 Da Ali G Show, which aired on UK’s Channel 4 before moving to HBO in 2003. The show spawned a series of feature film spin-offs, starting with Ali G Indahouse (2002), Borat (2006) and Bruno (2009).

The 2006 movie, featuring the “Kazakh” journalist Borat Sagdiyev, mostly took place in America and mocked the Bush administration’s “war of terror,” with vignettes on bigotry and racism. The follow-up, featuring “gay Austrian fashion reporter” Brüno Gehard, didn’t do so well, while 2012’s “The Dictator,” featuring Cohen as Admiral General Haffaz Aladeen, mocked Libya’s freshly ousted – and brutally murdered – leader Muammar Gaddafi.

It even earned Cohen some derision from Donald J. Trump, who was still a real estate magnate at that point.

Last week, however, Cohen resurfaced on Twitter and posted a video of Trump urging him to “go to school, learn about being funny.”

“Sacha graduates soon,” the tweet said.

As a follow-up, he posted a short clip of Cheney being asked to sign his character’s “waterboarding kit,” which looked like a one-gallon plastic water jug. Cheney does it with a smile, and says it was the first time anyone asked him to sign a “waterboard.”

Waterboarding is a form of ‘enhanced interrogation’ practiced by US interrogators during the Bush administration’s ‘War on Terror’ following 9/11, in which a subject would be tied to a board and water would be poured over a cloth covering their face to simulate drowning. Cheney has defended the torture practice.

While little is known about Cohen’s new character, Showtime has described him as “shameless,”“unhinged,” and “cold-blooded,” and the network called ‘Who is America?’, “perhaps the most dangerous show in the history of television.”

“Sacha is a comedic genius who shocks you with his audacity, bravery and inventiveness,” Showtime CEO David Nevins said in a statement. “Behind the elaborate setup is a genuine quest for the truth about people, places and politics.”

Kazakhstan, however, has never fully recovered from Borat, where, according to a 2016 Vice review, “almost every detail the film presented about the country was a complete and unflattering fabrication.”

LONDON — Christine Shawcroft, a close ally of Jeremy Corbyn, has resigned from Labour’s National Executive Committee with immediate effect amid an ongoing antisemitism row engulfing the party.

The Momentum director claimed that her membership of the party’s ruling body had become a “distraction” and “an excuse for endless intrusive media harassment of myself, my family and friends”.
