As announced last year, the Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves collection will bring these two games to the PC for the first time, following the collection's release for the PS5 this past January. 

This news lines up with a leak last week that showed a listing for the game on the Epic Games Store with an October 19th release date. This confirmation comes after Sony had delayed the game's release from its original "early 2022" timeline. As you'd expect, there are a host of features relevant to PC players, including ultra widescreen monitor support and a host of graphics adjustment options including texture and model quality, anisotropic filtering, shadows, reflections and ambient occlusion. The UI has also been tweaked to better fit on PC and you can remap all controls as you see fit.

Speaking of controls, you can also play this game wirelessly with the PS4's DualShock 4 controller; if you plug in a PS5 DualSense controller, you'll get more advanced haptic feedback.

If you're interested, Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves is up for pre-order on Steam and the Epic Games Store for $ 49.99. It's the first Naughty Dog title to hit the PC, but a number of other high-profile Sony exclusives (including Horizon Zero Dawn and God of War) have come to the PC in recent years. And Naughty Dog's latest release, the remade The Last of Us Part I will also be released for the PC, though there's no timeframe just yet.

On October 24, 2018, cult-favorite startup Everlane has announced ambitious environmental goals and a new collection built to spearhead the company-wide shift. 

The ReNew Collection is a line of outerwear (fleeces, parkas, puffers, and sweaters) made out of recycled water bottles. Altogether, the collection is “renewing” a whopping 3 million of them. We tested out some of the new products to give you a sense of what they’re like in real life, and you can find our thoughts below before shopping. 

Everlane’s logic is simple. We’ve created eight billion pounds of a toxic material that stays on the planet forever — so why don’t we stop making more, and reuse what’s already in our backyards?

ReNew will not be a shock to Everlane shoppers. The startup has built its reputation and success on its transparency — integrating video footage of its factories, hosting Transparency Tuesday Q & As on Instagram once a week, offering pricing breakdowns on product pages, instituting “Choose What You Pay” sales, and debuting a sustainable denim collection made in the “world’s cleanest denim factory.” 

Using recycled materials — especially water bottles — is not a new endeavor. Patagonia has been making recycled polyester from plastic soda bottles since 1993. Labels like Reformation use mostly deadstock fabrics and repurposed vintage clothing. Girlfriend Collective makes chic, affordable activewear from recycled water bottles and fishing nets. Outdoors gear startup Cotopaxi creates limited edition collections from its leftover fabrics. The list goes on. 

However, recycling is still in the vast minority of retail companies, and the industry itself is one of the worst for the environment. Even post-production, only about 15.3% of all textiles are recycled according to the EPA (2015 estimates). 

We aren’t doing any better where plastics are concerned. In just 60 years, we’ve created eight billion tons of the material. It’s so inseparable to our lives that plastic has even started showing up in human feces (that’s right, you may be unintentionally eating it). Yet companies are using more virgin plastic today than ever before, and some of the most polluting industrial sectors include packaging (149 million tons per year), textiles (59 million tons), and consumer or institutional products like pens, gum, and keyboards (42 million tons).

ReNew is the first act of a more ambitious, lengthier strategy. By 2021, Everlane will eliminate all virgin plastic from their supply chain. Smaller steps will be implemented much sooner, like reducing single-use plastic in offices and stores by 50% (March 2019), use renewed alternatives to polyester in production (2018), and starting to ship orders in 100% post-consumer recycled poly bags (2019). The startup is also forming an internal sustainability committee to educate their team on waste reduction and conduct progress audits to see how well waste diversion is going. By the time 2021 rolls around, the company plans to have redeveloped all existing yarns, fabrics, and raw materials containing virgin plastic with renewed equivalents. 

Everlane makes great clothes; it’s why people buy them. It helps that they also try to make them in a better, more honest way than a lot of the other options people have. ReNew is no different — the outerwear is comfortable, stylish, made to last, and moderately priced. It has helpful upgrades, comes in cool colors, and feels good to wear. The fact that it’s ushering in a much-needed commitment to better, smarter supply chains is just an added incentive.

We tried a few standout pieces from the Everlane ReNew Collection. Here’s what we thought:

The ReNew Lightweight Hooded Puffer

For the past 10 years, my go-to winter coat has been a bulky (but warm) peacoat. I was recently able to try Everlane’s ReNew puffer, and it’s the winter essential I didn’t realize I needed. The first thing I noticed when I put the jacket on was its light weight. How could something that’s supposed to keep me warm in the cold feel this light? I didn’t have to wonder long — I wore the jacket outside and immediately appreciated its insulation. For the past two weeks the coat kept wind, rain, and general cold weather from making me chilly. In fact, I actually felt warmer than I did with my peacoat on. I have to admit that Everlane would not be the first place I’d go to shop for winter gear — that honor usually goes to outdoor brands that specialize in weather-proofing. That’s why I was especially impressed with the ReNew Oversized Parka. This slightly puffy parka is super warm and cozy, with all the right features to protect you on one of those days when it seems like the wind can penetrate right into your bones. It has deep pockets (with both top and side openings) to stuff your hands into, a drawstring hood, and both a zipper and buttons to block out the elements.

The fact that the water-resistant shell and insulation are both made from recycled materials makes this parka all the more impressive. If you can buy clothing that’s better for the environment without sacrificing performance, why wouldn’t you go for it? Given the choice between Everlane’s parka and another one of comparable price, I would surely go for Everlane.

I recommend sizing down for a closer fit. I’m normally a medium, but a small fit perfectly, with enough room to wear a form-fitting long-sleeved shirt or a thin sweater underneath. — Connie Chen, Insider Picks reporter

Everlane’s ReNew Half-Zip Fleece is a great cold weather essential — surprisingly warm, relatively inexpensive and compact, and cozy to wear. It’s slightly rougher to the touch than I expected, which usually coincides with better experiences wearing it in damp or drizzly weather, and the ribbed cuffs and drawstring waist keep the cold out. The world’s leader in diamond mining, Russia’s Alrosa, is planning to reveal a new collection of precious stones as soon as the next year, according to the company’s CEO Sergey Ivanov.

“We are planning to do that,” the top manager told RIA Novosti. “We are mulling a series of concepts for cutting of several unique gems. We’ll announce the new projects next year.”

The new collection hasn’t received a name yet, Ivanov said, stressing that the name is really important, and should be fitting for the gems.

Last year, Alrosa set for auction a unique collection of five diamonds cut from a 179-carat rough diamond which was recovered in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) in 2015. The so-called ‘Dynasty Collection’ included a 51.38-carat gem which is “the purest of all large diamonds manufactured throughout the Russian jewelry history.”

The unique gem was sold in August with the total revenue from the sale of the Dynasty collection amounted to about $ 10 million. Other diamonds in the collection are named after the dynasties that “played a crucial role in the development of Russian jewelry”: the Sheremetevs, the Orlovs, the Vorontsovs, and the Yusupovs.

It has all the fun you’ve come to expect from the LEGO video games, but this time it has enhanced graphics, environments, lighting and visual effects, and two downloadable content packs.

Here are the official synopses for both parts of the video game collection:

LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 is based on the first four films—Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire—allowing fans to experience Harry’s first four years at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in full LEGO form.

LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7 transports players through the final four films—Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 & 2—to experience Harry’s last years at Hogwarts and his battle against Lord Voldemort in the ultimate fight between good and evil.

These games are obviously geared towards kids, but the LEGO games are a hell of a lot of fun and really take a significant time investment to complete in their entirety. There’s spell-casting, potion-making, and puzzle-solving fun, all within the wizarding world that J.K. Rowling so meticulously created.

The LEGO Harry Potter Collection will be available on Xbox One and Nintendo Switch on October 30, 2018.

Today’s launch of the Mega Man X Legacy Collection series is a biggie in the retro-anthology craze. At its best, Capcom’s “X” fork of Mega Man puts a giant exclamation point at the end of the “action-platformer” genre. Basically, if you crave a brutally tough mix of high-speed jumps, pesky enemies, overcharged weapons, and incredible sprite artwork, this series’ entries on SNES and PS1 are all you need.

Thus, the Legacy Collection seems like a no-brainer purchase, and I expected to type as much in a brief, “X gon’ give it to you” reiteration of the series’ classic status. Sadly, that’s not quite the case. After testing the anthologies’ multiple versions on four platforms, we’re here to clarify if, and how, you should take the MMX plunge.

With a changing personnel of musicians from Ian Gillan and Roger Glover to David Coverdale and Glenn Hughes, and Tommy Bolin eventually taking the place of guitarist Ritchie Blackmore, these releases are a fine document of a sensational British rock band.

Taken from the original master tapes at Abbey Road Studios, all of these vintage albums have been cut from new digital transfers. The heavyweight 180-gram purple vinyl includes artwork that has been faithfully replicated to match the original pressings.

Crucially for all fans of the band, the vinyl albums also come with download codes and are next in a line-up of classic Deep Purple reissues by Universal Music.

Drummer Ian Paice said: “These albums were recorded in the analogue age before digital CDs. We went from recording tape to master cutting room to pressing plant.

“It’s right that the listener should have the choice to listen to them by placing a needle on an album on a turntable.”

The classic albums to receive this heavyweight purple vinyl treatment are studio albums Machine Head – 1972, Who Do We Think We Are? – 1973, Burn – 1974, Stormbringer – 1974 and Come Taste The Band – 1975.

Plus live albums Made In Japan – 1972, Made In Europe – 1976 and Last Concert In Japan – 1977.

Deep Purple are currently on their ‘Long Goodbye’ world tour.

All eight albums to be released on Friday 7th September 2018.

They talk about everything from the color palette to the camera work and everything that went into creating the right vibe for the epic superhero crossover.

The crew over at Tested met up with Alan Stephenson, owner of one of the largest private collections of James Bond memorabilia and film props, and he showed off a selection of cool pieces from the sci-fi spy movie Moonraker, including models and other practical effects pieces that took 007 into space.

Finally, in honor of Donald Glover’s upcoming hosting stint on Saturday Night Live, cast member Beck Bennett created a cool tribute to the multi-hyphenate with an impressive domino set-up. Unfortunately for him, fellow cast member Chris Redd shows up and, well, you’ll see what happens in the end.

McLaren must be doing good business with its McLaren Special Operations (MSO) special edition supercars because it has just released another, and like with the Canada Commission, this one takes its inspiration from a specific country, namely China. It’s called the 2018 McLaren 570GT Cabbeen Collection, and was developed in conjunction with a Chinese fashion designer simply referred to as Mr. Cabbeen. We suspect that it received the name “collection” because of the connection to fashion, despite the special edition being just one model.

The 570GT Cabbeen Collection is instantly recognizable by its black paint scheme with gold wheels, gold brake calipers and gold dragons painted in the intake scallops. It does revive memories of the garish Jeep Wrangler Dragon Edition, but the McLaren is admittedly much more tasteful. It also boasts some fine craftsmanship, since the dragons are hand painted.

Inside, the theme continues with gold dragons embroidered into the center tunnel and the cargo area. They are done in an embroidery style specific to China known as Chao, and they were put in by the Director of the Professional Embroidery Committee of China’s Arts and Crafts Institute (now that’s a job – Ed.). This is all a far cry from cheap stickers and color-coordinated stitching.

Unlike the McLaren 570S Spider Canada Commission, the 570GT Cabbeen Collection will be available globally. But if you want one, speak up quickly, because only five will be built. Pricing was not revealed, but expect something well into the six figures.
