A Republican proposal to impose a national ban on abortion after 15 weeks is putting some GOP candidates in a difficult spot, forcing candidates such as Dr. Mehmet Oz to profess a commitment to ending a procedure he likened to "murder" while not alienating moderates who support the right to choose.

On Tuesday, Sen. Lindsey Graham, a Republican from South Carolina, introduced a bill that would prohibit doctors from terminating a pregnancy after 15 weeks, with no exception for fetal abnormalities that are typically spotted later on. The legislation has threatened to upend what had been the GOP line on abortion since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade: that the matter is one for the states to decide, not the federal government.

In Pennsylvania, the Oz campaign insisted that the TV personality turned Republican nominee for US Senate would not want to interfere with state laws on whether a person can terminate a pregnancy.

In a statement, Oz spokesperson Brittany Yanick told The Philadelphia Inquirer that the candidate "is pro-life with three exceptions: life of the mother, rape, and incest."

The statement did not directly address the Graham proposal. But, Yanick said, "as a senator, he'd want to make sure the federal government is not involved in interfering with the state's decisions on the topic."

The statement came a day after Oz said he would support federal legislation protecting same-sex marriage, a stance that angered some conservatives who have never warmed to the physician, despite his being endorsed by former President Donald Trump.

Yanick did not immediately respond to an Insider request for comment on how Oz would vote should he be elected this fall and the Graham bill be brought to the Senate floor by a Republican majority.

Oz's Democratic rival, Pennsylvania Lt. Gov. John Fetterman, wasted no time responding to the comment. Fetterman held a rally on Sunday trumpeting his support for abortion rights.

"A federal abortion ban would sure seem to interfere with a state's decision on the topic of abortion," Fetterman said in a statement. "Dr. Oz and his team need to stop the spin and stop the bullshit. This is a bill that he would actually have to vote on. Oz needs to tell us — yes or no, would you support this bill?"

If he were in the Senate, Fetterman added, he would be "a HELL NO."

The previews leading up to this Monday night’s installment of The Bachelor certainly made it seem like Matt James planned to get rid of the show’s bad apples.

After watching Matt choose Season 25 villain, Victoria, over much nicer contestants week after week, it felt like all of her slights, verbal jabs and lies would never catch up with her. But they finally did. Victoria is finally gone. But first, Matt came in and let the women know what was on his mind.

“If you have to belittle someone else for you to shine, then those aren’t the qualities I’m looking for in my wife,” Matt announced in a very serious but nervous way, before taking aside Brittany, 23. After all, she was the one who Anna, 24, accused of being an escort in their hometown of Chicago.

Brittany talked to Matt about how the rumor made her feel, and even cried. She said the rumor could change the way her mother looked at her while watching at home. (Sigh. Really? But you said you’re not a sex worker so why would your mother be ashamed? This feels like such an antiquated concern for something that isn’t true. But maybe that’s our inner Twitter talking.)

Matt confronted Anna for what she did and though he heard her out, in the end he sent her packing. She cried and said she felt disappointed in herself, but it came across like an act. She and Matt never even kissed on camera and appeared to have little to no chemistry. Next!

Soon after kicking out Anna, Matt asked Ryan, 26, a choreographer from Brooklyn, how she felt about being on The Bachelor — and she said Victoria called her a ho. She too began to cry. Man, for a show where people swap spit and make out in every kind of hot tub ever invented, these women sure worry a lot about their perceived virtue.

Bachelor VictoriaMatt then took aside Victoria, the self-proclaimed Queen, and questioned her about calling Ryan disparaging names. When she contended the insult was taken out of context, Matt intelligently asked in what context being called a “ho” is a good thing. Victoria fumed and acted all wounded, and yelled at the producers that she was insulted and hurt. Meanwhile, all of the other women laughed at her behind her back. She has no friends in this bunch.

And then bam, Matt handed out the roses and Victoria didn’t get one. Yay! Goodbye, Victoria! The only downside — and this seems like an odd thing to say considering how dreadful Victoria behaved — is that Season 25 will be a lot less funny without Victoria’s catty quips. There, we said. It’s not something to be proud of, but it’s true.

The other negative is that Matt didn’t give a rose to Lauren, 29, a corporate attorney from Miami, nor Mari, 24, the former beauty queen from Maryland. And both women deserved roses, more screen time and most of all, Matt’s consideration.

Bachelor RAchaelMATT’S BEST MOMENT | Matt’s one-on-one date with Rachael, 24, a graphic designer from Georgia, brimmed with romance and fun. The pair went shopping with the help of a stylist and Rachael walked away with some stunning designer dresses and a pair of red bottoms, aka Christian Louboutins. Um, wow! Matt and Rachael also clearly dig each other, and their chemistry is off the charts. Take note, Rachael is a frontrunner. The other frontrunner? Michelle, 27, the teacher from Minnesota. She’s the only one Matt kisses with his eyes closed.

MATT’S WORST MOMENT | Hmm, Matt’s choice to play around with MJ, 23, on the group date, only to leave her to run and make out with Pieper, 23, felt all kinds of wrong. Not that he has that kind of chemistry with MJ, and judging from his confrontation with her about her antagonism in the house, she’s probably going to be ousted. But still, respect these women’s feelings, Matt. It’s only fair.

THIS WEEK’S TRAIN-WRECK MOMENT | This distinction definitely goes to Victoria, who on her way out the door vowed to never date another man named Matt.  This is why her histrionics will be missed. Who even talks like this?

BACHELORETTE STOCK FALLING! | Sadly, Katie seems to be placing herself firmly in the friend zone. She’s been Matt’s confidante, telling him what’s going in the house and who the bullies are. But dude still isn’t kissing her. Maybe Katie, 29, will become the next Bachelorette. Shrug.

Are you admittedly said to see the Queen dethroned?

The BBC correspondent joined Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid on Good Morning Britain today and was probed over the corporation’s decision to cancel the free TV licence fee for over 75s. The 70-year-old clarified not all over-75s would lose their free TV licence however, due to confusion surrounding the requirements to have obtain one, not all of those entitled had claimed it.

Piers began: “A lot of anger as the BBC entered into a deal with the Conservatives and took on free licence fee.”

“The BBC took it on but only until the end of a particular period and then it was up to the BBC to decide what to do,” Andrew clarified.

“I know plenty of well off 75-year-old’s. Should they get a free TV licence?”

Piers hit back: “But there are lots of very poor 75-year-olds.”

“But most of them will still get it,” Andrew explained.

But Piers wasn’t impressed as he told the presenter: “Most of them don’t claim it.”

Andrew continued: “Then there should be a campaign, and perhaps the BBC should be a part of that, to encourage them to do so.

“I mean, the government played a slight of hand here, they basically dumped social policy onto the BBC.”

“I think that’s partly because they’ve been misled into thinking they’re going to lose their free licence,” Andrew replied.

“They’re the ones that won’t lose their free licence, nor should they lose it.”

Also in the interview, Andrew gave his opinion on Brexit developments saying he was “deeply depressed”.

“I’m depressed by the approached of by both Remain and Leave,” he said. “Both involved running down our country.”

He added: “Despite the deep tribal differences, in or out of the EU, this is still a great country.

UFC light-heavyweight champion Jon Jones has detailed his challenge to Daniel Cormier, saying his rival was never the legitimate 205lb champion and that the pair should meet for a third time to end the discussion once and for all.

Cormier has been a vocal critic of Jones since his knockout defeat to the controversial world champion was wiped from the record after Jones tested positive in 2017.

And after another anti-doping abnormality showed up in Jones’ pre-fight drug test, Cormier criticized Jones again, then reacted to his rival’s knockout win over Alexander Gustafsson by tweeting: “Dude starts with a head start every time.”

Speaking at the UFC 232 post-fight press conference in Los Angeles, Jones addressed his rivalry with Cormier and clarified his challenge to the heavyweight champ.

“When it comes to Daniel Cormier he’s always quiet unless he’s speaking out to discredit me, my legacy, my achievements,” he said.

“He works his hardest to try to discredit and try to delegitimize the fact I beat him twice.

“And the only thing I want to delegitimize as a retaliation is his claim of being the light-heavyweight champion.

“He was never the light-heavyweight champion. He never beat me. This has been my era since 2011.

I want to make that loud and clear. DC is no ‘champ champ’

“When we talk about an asterisk next to my name, there’s gonna always be always going to be an asterisk alongside the idea of him being a ‘champ champ’.”

Jones then laid out very clearly his challenge to Cormier: face him at light-heavyweight and back up his claims of being a two-division champion or admit he was never the real champion to begin with.

“The only way he can shut me up on what I’m saying right now is to beat my ass. Simple,” he said.

“Me going to heavyweight would be making it extremely personal. And for me, I have no problem with DC. I have a problem when he comes out and goes ‘See I told you guys he’s a cheater! I told you he’s a cheater!’.

“I have no real problem with DC. I’m not going to go to heavyweight and try to take everything from him and destroy his legacy and all that type of stuff.

With locations all over the US, you might think that shopping at Trader Joe’s would be the same no matter where you go.

And while you’ll find much of the same products and prices at different locations, the shopping experience can vary between urban and suburban locations.

To determine the better shopping experience, we visited two urban locations — one established location in the Murray Hill neighborhood of New York and one new location on the Lower East Side — and the Trader Joe’s in Stamford, Connecticut, located about an hour outside of Manhattan.

We considered three main criteria when evaluating the stores:

  • First, we looked at each store’s layout and the ease at which we were able to move around.
  • Next, we judged each store based on how well-stocked it was when we visited on a weekday morning.
  • Finally, we considered how each store handled crowds and lines.

After evaluating the three stores, we concluded that it is generally much easier to shop at Trader Joe’s in the suburbs, with the exception of the newly-opened urban store.

Urban stores were harder to navigate and tended to have longer lines, which left us longing for the peaceful shopping experience back in the suburbs.

    I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Here! was on ITV this evening and it featured some rather disgusting scenes.

    Noel and Harry had to take on the Bushtucker Trial after their reign as Emperor and advisor.

    They probably had to take on one of the most revolting trials yet.

    Noel and Harry to hold bugs in their mouths for 30 seconds in the first part of the trail.

    Holly Willoughby told Noel: “clear your mind”.

    This angered Noel after he finally could spit the bugs out.

    He looked at Holly and stood up and shouted: “clear your mind”.

    Holly laughed, but she did look rather worried.

    Holly then asked Noel: “What did that feel like in your mouth?”

    To which Noel replied: “What do you think?”

    “I don’t know. I’ve never done it,” said Holly.

    Noel and Harry’s trial was truly repulsive and fans took to Twitter to comment on it.

    One viewer said: “I love Holly she is so lovely by reassuring them everything will be fine!”

    Another said: “Love Noel snapping at Holly and Dec when they ask him “how was it?” HOW DO YOU THINK!?”

    “Anyone else feel the hostility between Noel and Holly,” wrote a third viewer.

    Meanwhile, this evening’s episode will also see Harry recoil in horror as Noel shows off his painted toenails.

    He said to Harry: “So look what my wife did… she said you’ll remember me.”

    Harry the laughed and replied: “F***ing hell, Noel, you’re frightening me now. I don’t know if I’m going to let you rub my leg again.”

    Noel continued: “Look at the red one, she said that’s the emergency toe, ‘if you’re in a really tight spot press that toe.’

    “She hasn’t told me what happens,” he finished.

    • On November 12, KFC added three new meals made with chicken and waffles to its menu.
    • The available options are chicken tenders, fried chicken, and a sandwich with Belgian Liège-style waffle buns, along with a side of Mrs. Butterworth’s syrup. 
    • The fried chicken and chicken tenders remain the same as the fast-food’s other chicken menu items, but the Liège-style waffles are sweeter and doughier than expected.
    • My favorite was the chicken and waffle sandwich, which had just the right balance of spicy and sweet for my taste.

    While pairing fried chicken and waffles together predates Colonel Sanders, it isn’t until this year that KFC finally decided to try its hand at the iconic dish.

    After a trial at locations in Charlotte, North Carolina, this past summer, KFC started serving chicken and waffles nationwide from November 12 and will offer the dishes through December 31.
