While fans await news on Daniel Craig’s fifth and final movie, the first trailer for 007 Elements gives a closer look at the upcoming cinematic installation.

Inspired by Spectre, the fan experience was built inside the summit of the Gaislachkogl Mountain in Sölden, Austria – where the film and others in the franchise were shot.

Now constructed, the trailer gives an aerial view of the structure on the snowy peaks.

After a few exterior shots, the camera goes inside, rushing along a dark metallic corridor towards the Spectre symbol – an Octopus surrounded by flames.

Waltz’ Blofeld is overheard saying: “Welcome James. What took you so long?”

The line is taken from Spectre, during the moment Bond is discovered by Blofeld at a meeting in Rome.

Much of 007 Elements is still shrouded in mystery,

On the official 007 websites, it reads: “007 ELEMENTS, the new James Bond cinematic installation will officially open its doors on 12 July 2018.

“007 ELEMENTS will be an interactive, immersive and educational experience that places visitors inside the world of 007 while revealing how that world is made.”

The description continues: “Sölden, Austria the home of 007 ELEMENTS featured in SPECTRE, the 24th James Bond film, with the ice Q restaurant appearing as the Hoffler Klinik and the surrounding areas forming parts of the snow chase sequence.

Further details and advance ticket information will be coming soon.

007 ELEMENTS opens on July 12, 2018.

James Bond 25: Why Christoph Waltz could still be returning as Blofeld with Daniel Craig https://briefnews.eu/james-bond-25-why-christoph-waltz-could-still-be-returning-as-blofeld-with-daniel-craig/ https://briefnews.eu/james-bond-25-why-christoph-waltz-could-still-be-returning-as-blofeld-with-daniel-craig/#respond Wed, 17 Jan 2018 15:06:45 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/james-bond-25-why-christoph-waltz-could-still-be-returning-as-blofeld-with-daniel-craig/

After a three film build up, Waltz was introduced in ’s Spectre as Blofeld, 007’s ultimate nemesis.

By the film’s end the villain was captured, so surely he’d be returning for Craig’s fifth and final outing?

But Waltz has outright denied his involvement in , saying it’s the tradition to have a different villain.

That is standard for Bond movies, but what if Blofeld will play a minor role or this new character was his puppet?

After all, this wouldn’t be the first time Waltz has warded off speculation surrounding his Bond villain.

Back when he was announced as the main antagonist in Spectre, he was listed as playing Franz Oberhauser.

However many fans weren’t having this and claimed he was in fact playing Ernst Stavro Blofeld – something Waltz repeatedly outright denied to keep the truth a surprise.

In one interview with GQ magazine he said: “That is absolutely untrue. That rumour started on the Internet, and the Internet is a pest. The name of my character is Franz Oberhauser.”

While he told : “First of all, on what basis? You know, it’s silly. It’s plain silly…So that’s done with — the Blofeld question. Why would they make a movie that they’ve done before?”

Of course fans will remember he was eventually revealed to be Blofeld in Spectre, even being given his famous scar by Bond.

So who’s to say Waltz isn’t going along the same approach once again to surprise fans?

James Bond 25 will be released in UK cinemas in November 2019.

Christoph Waltz Is Not Returning for James Bond 25 https://briefnews.eu/christoph-waltz-is-not-returning-for-james-bond-25/ https://briefnews.eu/christoph-waltz-is-not-returning-for-james-bond-25/#respond Sat, 28 Oct 2017 22:58:12 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/christoph-waltz-is-not-returning-for-james-bond-25/ Spectre - Christoph Waltz not in James Bond 25

Back in August, confirmation finally came that Daniel Craig would return as James Bond from the actor himself. So now everyone is wondering what is in store for 007’s next mission on the big screen. Sadly, for those who enjoyed a certain iconic villain from James Bond history being played by Christoph Waltz, we have some bad news.

During a red carpet interview, Spectre villain Christoph Waltz was directly asked if he would return for James Bond 25, and the actor gave a definitive and firm response in the negative. But his elaboration is what we’re most intrigued by.

News of Christoph Waltz not in James Bond 25 came from the Italian movie news site Talky Movie:

For those who don’t care to watch the video, when asked if he would return for the next sequel in the long-running franchise, Waltz said, “No, I’m sorry. I’m really sad, but that’s the tradition, that there is a new…name. Sorry. I would’ve liked to.” There are a few different ways that we could take his answer, so let’s think about this for a minute.

Bond 25

Could a New Actor Play Blofeld?

First, the tradition that Waltz is referring to is in regards to the casting of Blofeld. When the villain first appeared (albeit partially) in From Russia with Love, he was portrayed by the uncredited Anthony Dawson and his voice was provided by Eric Pholmann, and the same was done with the villain’s appearance in Thunderball.

You Only Live Twice was the first time the villain showed his face, and he was played by Donald Pleasance, who would go on to star in Halloween. After that, he was played by Telly Savalas in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, then Charles Gray in Diamonds Are Forever. Finally, the villain was used in the classic Bond films one more time, with John Hollis playing a wheelchair-bound version of the villain and Robert Rietty providing his voice in For Your Eyes Only.

Christoph Waltz is the most recent actor to play an iteration of the villain, and he makes it sound like the tradition of having a new actor playing Blofeld will continue with James Bond 25, which is an interesting decision to make for a franchise that has made James Bond more grounded than the spy has ever been before. But maybe Waltz meant something different.

Spectre Easter Eggs

Will There Be a New Villain in James Bond 25?

When Waltz speaks of tradition, he could also be talking about the fact that there’s usually a new villain brought into the fray with almost every new James Bond movie. Across the span of 24 movies featuring the secret agent, the only villains to appear multiple times are Blofeld, Mr. White and Jaws. Daniel Craig’s part of James Bond franchise has yet to see a villain recur at all, so if Christoph Waltz were to come back, it would have been a compelling evolution of the series.

Therefore, it could stand to reason that there won’t be a new actor playing Blofeld in James Bond 25, but there will merely be a new villain altogether, making Waltz’s return to the franchise unnecessary. Then again, there’s one other possibility.

Inglourious Basterds - Christoph Waltz

Christoph Waltz Could Be Lying

Leading up to the release of Spectre, rumors were rampant that Christoph Waltz was playing the iconic villain Blofeld. The Inglourious Basterds star denied the rumor multiple times, but as we all saw when Spectre finally hit theaters, Waltz was indeed playing the villain we’d seen James Bond face before. That means Waltz was lying the entire time he denied those rumors.

There is a distinct possibility that Waltz is lying this time, simply to keep up appearances and keep secrets from inquiring minds. That’s not something I’m necessarily opposed to, especially if it allows for a cool surprise appearance of the villain in the next James Bond movie. But no matter what the outcome is, it does make us wonder what’s in store for 007.

Ideally, it would be great if there was a new villain brought to the table, and we found out that somehow Blofeld was orchestrating another villainous plan, just as he had done several times before through the organization called Spectre. Then again, that’s also a bit predictable, and maybe too hokey for this version of James Bond.

Either way, the good news is that we have at least one more round of James Bond featuring Daniel Craig, and hopefully it will make up for how disappointing Spectre turned out to be.

This Morning viewers cringe over ‘awkward’ Christoph Waltz interview https://briefnews.eu/this-morning-viewers-cringe-over-awkward-christoph-waltz-interview/ https://briefnews.eu/this-morning-viewers-cringe-over-awkward-christoph-waltz-interview/#respond Fri, 13 Oct 2017 11:48:27 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/this-morning-viewers-cringe-over-awkward-christoph-waltz-interview/

The interview was going well until host Eamonn Holmes started questioning the A-lister, 61, about the damming allegations circling disgraced Hollywood executive Harvey Weinstein.

Audience members quickly took to social media to hit out at the uncomfortable scenes with one person posting on Twitter: “How awkward #ChristophWaltz #ThisMorning.”

Another posted: “Wow, this is an awkward interview with Christoph Waltz on #ThisMorning.”

“I like this guys accent… I also think he’s not impressed by the questions #thismorning,” a third added.

A fourth person tweeted: “Such an awkward interview. Why should he be answering questions about Weinstein?? #ThisMorning.”

Someone else found Eamonn, 57, and Ruth Langsford’s line of interviewing “disrespectful” and expressed their anger on social media.

“Christoph Waltz is a huge deal in Gemany. For them to just say “you’ve not long made it big” was an insult. #ThisMorning,” raged the audience member.

However, others agreed with the line of questioning as one audience member said: “For those saying #ThisMorning shouldn’t have asked Christoph Waltz about Weinstein; it’s Hollywood’s biggest story & he is a member of Hollywood.”

During the interview, Eamonn asked: “Talking about casting, what do you make of this Harvey Weinstein situation? Is it that something you guys are aware of in the industry?”

Actor Christoph seemed uncomfortable, replying: “Of course, are you kidding? How can you not be? I consider this something I don’t need to contribute my two cents’ worth.

“The situation, I think, is more than blatantly obvious. Anybody in their right mind would be repulsed by it – the behaviour – so if the thing speaks for itself why should I add a voice?”

But Eamonn pressed him further: “No, what I’m saying is: was there an awareness in the industry? Was he talked about for a period of time?”

“He was one of the biggest players,” Christoph replied as Eamonn went on to say: “Did people know what his habits were?”

The Oscar winner was seemingly not impressed: “Look, you’re asking the wrong person… and I’m an old geezer.”

Sensing the tension, Ruth, 57, moved on the conversation: “Interesting to see where that one goes.”

This Morning airs weekdays on ITV at 10.30am.

James Bond 25: Christoph Waltz’s Blofeld to return with Daniel Craig in Spectre follow-up? https://briefnews.eu/james-bond-25-christoph-waltzs-blofeld-to-return-with-daniel-craig-in-spectre-follow-up/ https://briefnews.eu/james-bond-25-christoph-waltzs-blofeld-to-return-with-daniel-craig-in-spectre-follow-up/#respond Wed, 05 Apr 2017 09:41:08 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/james-bond-25-christoph-waltzs-blofeld-to-return-with-daniel-craig-in-spectre-follow-up/

It’s been over two years since the two actors co-starred in Spectre and now it looks like Craig is ready to make his big comeback.

Yesterday multiple sources claimed that

But what about Waltz’s Blofeld, the MI6 agent’s arch villain, who was captured by British authorities on Westminster Bridge during Spectre’s epic climax?

As head of Spectre, Blofeld would regularly return during Sean Connery’s classic era, so surely he’s due a return too?

In January last year reports claimed that

As the star’s silence continued, Waltz was asked about returning as Blofeld in September.

During an interview with German magazine Zeit-Magazin Mann, he said: “I don’t know about [playing Blofeld again].

“Nobody knows. It wasn’t talked about, except in the press. Right now, nobody even knows which studio will produce the next and if Daniel will return. All of that is filed under ‘carry on.’

Waltz also had doubts about the part, he added: “I cannot claim that I’ve really nailed Blofeld. Overall, it held water and was okay. But it wasn’t what I’ve been looking for. I was searching for more inspiration.”

Assuming Craig will sign back on, it may seem easy to have a plot where Blofeld escapes custody to unleash more evil plans, but this already looks less likely.

The 25th official James Bond film has already begun production without Craig signed on, with the Mayor of Dubrovnik, Croatia letting slip that advanced negotiations had begun on the next 007 adventure.

The producers are keen for the film to be released in 2018, marking the newly established three year gap between films.

The most obvious reason for why it looks like Blofeld won’t be back is because reports indicate that

This would indicate that the next story is a standalone narrative, to make it easy for a new actor to star in the role, if Craig decides not to return.

Technically it’s still possible for Blofeld to return played by a different actor, as was normal in the Connery era, but our money’s on a Goldfinger or Skyfall style standalone, that only alludes to the bigger story arc of Spectre and Quantum as organisations.
