The two men were attempting to fish when one of them spotted the large beast. Ken Gerke, one of the kayakers, told his friend David Barwise: “It’s chasing me. In the video, he can be heard saying: “I can hear him coming. “Like I’m paddling, and I can hear him thumping away behind me.” In an attempt to scare it off, they use the paddle to splash in the water. The shark can be seen swimming beneath the boat and getting rather close. Thankfully neither of the men were hurt and they made it safely back to shore. They later told Australian news channel 9NEWS: “He was just very curious, and friendly, like a big puppy dog in a way, and was coming over to check us out. “If it looked like there was going to be a hairy moment I was ready to put the two kayaks together and make it a bit more of a challenge.” When asked if it had put them off, they admitted: “I’m pretty sure me and Dave will be out there again next weekend.” The video was posted to YouTube yesterday after the encounter. Geek wrote: “Such an awesome experience, I’ve caught small Sharks in the past, had juvenile Bull Sharks cruise past the yak in local estuaries…but nothing like this Beast.” Online users enjoyed it, with one commenting: “Just off from where I swim. Crazy.” Another remarked: “That was b***** close guys great footage.” Great white sharks are not allowed to be interfered with in Australia due to being listed as “vulnerable”. It is hardly the first time a shark was caught on camera in a close call. A great white shark was caught circling a policy dinghy in Australia. The police officers, who were carrying out drug tests in the area, spoke of their nervousness. The 4.5m shark circled the 5.7m dinghy last before heading off after ten minutes. The Britain’s Got Talent judges were not expecting Baba Yega to take their stage by storm, but they quickly blew the room away. The odd dance group began their act by entering in a cardboard box which was opened by hosts Ant and Dec. A creepy sound clip was then played which sounded like children monotonously chanting in a horror-movie style which left the judges shivering in fear. Amanda Holden commented: “That’s actually quite frightening.” But once the group began dancing the fear subsided, as Baba Yega displayed their incredible synchronised moves. The audience were completely enthralled with the supposed aliens’ routine, and were joined by the judges in their praise. Following their performance the judges attempted to speak to the other-worldly beings. After agreeing to give them four yesses, Simon revealed that there was a catch. He said: “On Earth when you get a yes you have to give a kiss to the people waiting for you at the side.” Ant and Dec immediately looked worried as they tried to get away. But Baba Yega had other plans, as they ran after the presenters and dragged them to the stage. The five aliens surrounded Ant and Dec and began kissing them one-by-one, much to the delight of Simon and the crowd. As the duo returned backstage Ant commented: “I had garlic bread for lunch so the joke is on them!” Baba Yega proceeded through to the next round with four yesses and two kisses. Although Alesha Dixon seemed to get on well with the group, she experienced a swipe from David Walliams earlier on in the show. A member of the crowd shouted at Alesha after a very peculiar singing act. They screamed: “Alesha you don’t need make-up!” David disagreed with this sentiment and instantly shouted back. He hollered: “She does need make-up!” Britain’s Got Talent continues on Saturday at 8pm on ITV. Google Maps Street View has been revealing the world since 2007, with many countries now visible with the click of a button. Over 11 years, it has created a seamless view of roads and addresses helping many plan their routes and directions. The famous Google cars use 360-degree cameras to stitch the images together to create the effect. It can be a difficult job as they tackle dangerous areas and many people trying to get their face on the internet. One driver was chased by a certain creature in Japan which has since gone viral. The car was driving through the Kumage district in Japan when it passed a marina full of boats. Suddenly a dog sees the car and excitably squares up to it the vehicle. As the car drives on, the images proceeding it see the brown dog chase the car down the road. With it’s tongue hanging out, the animal joyfully follows the driver. Sadly the street view then stops, not revealing how long the dog kept up the chase. The excitable dog has since gone viral with fans across the world loving the creature’s antics. Online users loved the cute animal that chased the car. One wrote on Twitter: “Dogs are like Pizza, you can never get enough.” Others mocked the poor creature: “Why wasn’t his face blurred? He deserves the same amount of privacy as the cows that appear on Google Maps.” The Twitter user was relating his comment back to two cows that had their faces blurred out on Google Street View in Cambridge, causing much mirth. A poor woman may not like dogs as much as other users after caught in am embarrassing situation. Caught by the Google camera is the young cyclist with her two dogs. They are attached to the handlebars, when suddenly they lose control. The woman is pulled to the floor by the animals, who look sheepish as she scolds them. It is then that she sits on the pavement and realises her accident was caught on camera. Curtis McElhinney stopped 25 shots to give the Toronto Maple Leafs their second straight shutout, 4-0 over the New York Rangers on Thursday night. James van Riemsdyk, Patrick Marleau, Zach Hyman and Justin Holl scored to help the Maple Leafs get their fourth straight win and a sweep of the teams’ three-game season series. McElhinney was barely tested in his seventh career shutout and second of the season. Holl’s goal was his second in as many NHL games, making him just the sixth defenceman in NHL history to accomplish the feat, and the first Leaf since Daniel Marois in the 1988-89 season. It came one night after Frederik Andersen had 25 saves in a 5-0 win at home against the Islanders, giving Toronto back-to-back shutouts for the second time this season. The Maple Leafs extended their shutout streak to 142 minutes, 17 seconds since Dallas’ Tyler Seguin scored late in the second period of Toronto’s 4-1 win last Thursday. Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist was pulled early in the second period after giving up four goals on 13 shots. Ondrej Pavelec came on and stopped all 19 shots he faced. New York, shut out for just the second time this season, has lost eight of its last 12. The Rangers picked up their intensity in the third period as McElhinney had two nice saves on Rick Nash about six minutes into the third, first on a shot from the right circle and then a tip attempt in close six seconds later. McElhinney also denied Jimmy Vesey in front midway through the period. Toronto controlled play from the start, building a 2-0 lead in the first period and then quickly adding to it in the second. Marleau scored 52 seconds into the middle period as he got the rebound of a shot by Nazem Kadri and fired a slap shot past Lundqvist from inside the blue line between the faceoff circles for his 17th. Hyman took a pass from William Nylander, skated in on Lundqvist and went forehand to backhand before putting it in from the left side for his 10th at 3:05 to make it 4-0. Pavelec then replaced Lundqvist. The Rangers had just 12 shots on goal after 40 minutes and were booed by the home crowd as they skated off at the end of the second period. Mitch Marner had an open net with Pavelec out of position early in the third but hit a goalpost with his attempt. Holl got Toronto on the board 8:42 into the game as his shot from the right side beyond the faceoff circle rang off the left post and in. It was the defenseman’s second career goal — and second in two nights after being called up from Toronto of the AHL for his NHL debut Wednesday. McElhinney made in-close saves on Nash with 8 1/2 minutes to go and a tip by Vesey 40 seconds later to preserve Toronto’s lead. Connor Brown found van Riemsdyk streaking to the net on a rush and the forward put a backhand past Lundqvist for his 20th with 4:37 left to make it 2-0. Google Maps has captured people in some embarrassing predicaments over the years, often without the person realising. A woman in Japan was caught in a dramatic scene after falling in a ditch due to the Street View camera. The famous car captures imagesfrom all around the world to showcase the best bits of the globe. One bikini-clad woman was caught in a much more awkward pose on a beach in Mexico. The woman is spotted on Playa Delfines in Mexico, as she gets off a jet-ski on the beach. She manages to successfully disembark whilst parking on the beach after enjoying the ride in her bikini. As she gets off, she is surrounded by many of the seagulls on the beach. Similar to scenes in Alfred Hitcock’s 1963 thriller The Birds, she then runs off, clutching her head as she is surrounded by them. They chase after her as she flees the beach, seeming to be scared around the birds. She finally avoids them after taking shelter under a beach gazebo. A man was also caught in an awkward situation on a beach when captured by the Google Maps camera. As he bent down on the beach, he nearly gave an eyeful to other beach-dwellers without realising. The man on the beach appears to be completely naked, making no attempt to cover up. Thankfully, as he bends over, a pole behind him covers his nudity and protects his modesty. Whilst this brazen act appears shocking to Britons, there was a reason he didn’t have a scrap of clothing on. He was actually on a nudist beach in Florida.
A US F-22 fighter was preventing two Russian Su-25 strike aircraft from bombing an Islamic State (IS, former ISIS) base to the west of the Euphrates November 23, according to the ministry. The ministry’s spokesman, Major General Igor Konashenkov described the episode as yet another example of US aircraft attempts to prevent Russian forces from carrying out strikes against Islamic State.
“The F-22 launched decoy flares and used airbrakes while constantly maneuvering [near the Russian strike jets], imitating an air fight,” Konashenkov said. He added that the US jet ceased its dangerous maneuvers only after a Russian Su-35S fighter jet joined the two strike planes.
The major general went on to say that “most close-midair encounters between Russian and US jets in the area around the Euphrates River have been linked to the attempts of US aircraft to get in the way [of the Russian warplanes] striking against Islamic State terrorists.” He also said that the US military officials provided no explanation for the November 23 incident as well as other, similar encounters.
The statement came as a response to the Pentagon’s claims about “an increase in unsafe behavior” by Russian warplanes. “We saw anywhere from six to eight incidents daily in late November, where Russian or Syrian aircraft crossed into our airspace on the east side of the Euphrates River,” Lt. Col. Damien Pickart, the spokesman for US Air Force Central Command, told CNN earlier on Saturday.
Konashenkov said that any claims made by US military officials concerning the fact that there is “any part of the airspace in Syria that belongs to the US” are “puzzling.” Konashenkov also said that “Syria is a sovereign state and a UN member and that means that there… can be no US airspace ‘of its own.’ Unlike the Russian Air Force, the US-led coalition is operating in Syria without any legal basis,” he added.
Pickart also said that the US’ “greatest concern is that we could shoot down a Russian aircraft because its actions are seen as a threat to our air or ground forces.” Earlier, he also told the New York Times that it has become “increasingly tough for our [US] pilots to discern whether Russian pilots are deliberately testing or baiting us into reacting, or if these are just honest mistakes.”
The New York Times also listed several cases of what the US describes as “unsafe behavior” by the Russian jets, citing the data provided by the US air base in Qatar. The US accused the Russian pilots of “crossing into the airspace east of the Euphrates” and flying “dangerously close” to the “allied forces,” adding that such actions could be interpreted as “threatening” and the US pilots were “in their rights” to fire in “self-defense.”
Konashenkov said in response that the US Air Force should rather focus on destroying Islamic State in Iraq than provoking close encounters between the US and the Russian jets.
Pickart said to CNN that the US military regularly talk to their Russian counterparts “in the daily de-confliction calls.” However, the Russian military repeatedly pointed out that the US is reluctant to share its plans for combat aircraft operations, and acts secretively in Syria.
The US and the Russian military have traded jibes over various incidents involving both countries’ warplanes in the Syrian skies. Washington accused Russian jets of not carrying transponders allowing air-traffic controllers to identify them, while Moscow repeatedly said that the US military only “occasionally” indicate the time period and an approximate area of their air operations without even giving the types of aircraft and their affiliation.
Back in 2015, the US and Russia agreed upon the mutual flight safety memorandum regulating the flight paths and contacts of the countries’ air forces in Syria during an emergency situation. The two countries also set up a hotline for their militaries to discuss the approximate locations and missions of planes in an attempt to avoid operating in the same airspace at the same time.
However, both sides later repeatedly accused each other of being reluctant to use the instruments at their disposal to reconcile the issues related to their actions in Syria. Most recently, Colonel Jeff Hogan, deputy commander of the air operations center at the Qatar base, called the daily phone calls between the US and Russian military “contentious.” The US also said that the dialogue does not always reflect what happens in the skies over Syria.
In January, Konashenkov complained that the US officers often “simply cannot be found on the other side of the ‘hotline’ in Qatar, designed to discuss and resolve contentious issues” and urged them to “use this hotline more often and for its direct purposes.”

Police and security had to intervene to help the Danish immigration and integration minister escape a potential assault by a crowd of rejected asylum-seekers, indignant over her decision to focus attention on only one family in the deportation facility.
On what was supposed to be a photo op on Friday for Danish Minister for Immigration, Integration and Housing Inger Støjberg at the Sjælsmark deportation center on the island of North Zealand, things went awry as a group of failed asylum applicants encircled her, Danish broadcaster DR reported.
A crowd of around 40 disgruntled residents of the center, all awaiting deportation, confronted the minister as she was about to drive away.

“When we came outside after the visit, the atmosphere started getting aggressive. Residents started gathering around Støjberg,” journalist Martin Torpe, who witnessed the scene, said as cited by DR.
At that moment, the minister’s security detail and police began to push through the crowd as they escorted her to the car. The crowd became more enraged and attempted to prevent her from leaving by blocking the car. In a video of the incident posted by DR, a woman can be seen jumping under the wheels of the moving vehicle, which does not stop. Police said the woman was only slightly hurt and her injuries are believed to not be serious.
The minister was joined by several lawmakers and journalists on the visit and was filmed for DR. The unrest was reportedly triggered by Støjberg’s decision to speak with only one family of Kurdish asylum-seekers, with rumors circulating that the family would be granted asylum afterwards.
“They had baked cakes, bought flowers and made signs on which the words ‘we are not criminals’ are written. But we are all [considered to be] problems, so all she did was go in and talk to one chosen family,” Valid Rahmatti, one of the residents of the center, told Politiken. Following the incident, Støjberg thanked her security and driver for keeping her safe. “Without you it could have ended completely wrong,” she wrote on Facebook.

Denmark took in around 21,000 refugees at the height of the European refugee crisis in 2015. The following year, it only accepted 6,072 people and cut social benefits for refugees in half. As a result of the policy change, 532 asylum-seekers voluntarily left the country last year.

Outrage erupted online after the Latino Victory Fund targeted Virginia’s Republican gubernatorial candidate Ed Gillespie in an inflammatory ad, showing a pickup truck with a Gillespie bumper sticker and a Confederate flag chasing down non-white children.
The ad, which was released on Monday, shows a group of minority children running as the truck pursues them. “Run, run, run!” one of the children shouts to the others.
Just as the children become trapped between a fence and the truck, they all wake up from what was actually a nightmare. “Is this what Donald Trump and Ed Gillespie mean by the American dream?” the narrator asks.
The video prompted an angry backlash on social media, including from Gillespie himself. “…This is a new low in politics here (Virginia). It’s a sad day…outrageously, my opponent has embraced it,” he told Fox News, referring to Democratic candidate Ralph Northam.

Former presidential candidate Mike Huckabee also chimed in. The Republican commentator said it “just might be the lowest, most repulsive, most unconscionable political ad run since the days when Andrew Jackson was accused of cannibalism.”
“It’s meant to depict Gillespie, Donald Trump, and their supporters as evil, racist, white supremacists who drive pick-ups with Confederate flags and use them to chase down terrified minority children and, I’m just guessing here from the context, filet and eat them. It’s absolutely disgusting…you can see it at the link, but I warn you: you’ll feel as if you need a shower afterwards,” said Huckabee.
He added that the ad is particularly insensitive considering recent events in Charlottesville, Virginia, where a white supremacist mowed down a protester with his car, killing her, in August. A total of 19 others were injured in the attack.
One social-media user pointed out that just a day after the ad was released, a suspected terrorist plowed down people in Lower Manhattan, killing eight. “This ad didn’t age well,” she wrote.

Others lambasted the ad for apparent double standards. One user pointed out that, although Democrats accuse Republicans of being “fear mongers,” this ad appears to be doing exactly that.
Another said that, although he didn’t vote for Gillespie in the primaries, he will now do so on November 7. “After this ad, I’ll crawl over broken glass to vote for him…” he wrote.
The Latino Victory Fund apparently agreed with some of the criticism, opting to delete the ad after the Manhattan attack. It said it would be “placing other powerful ads into rotation,” citing “recent events.”
“We knew our ad would ruffle feathers. We held a mirror up to the Republican Party, and they don’t like what they see. We have decided to pull our ad at this time,” Latino Victory Fund President Cristóbal J. Alex said.
However, the ad did have its fair share of supporters. One Twitter user called it “brilliant” and urged Democrats to keep “hammering this message.”
“Ed’s feelings are hurt. Welp. Maybe don’t be a white supremacist-loving, confederate statue-hugging Trumpist,” one person wrote on Twitter.
The Latino Victory Fund describes itself as a “progressive political action committee with the mission of growing Latino political power by increasing Latino representation at every level of government.”

Shark Bay is known for being heavily populated with sharks, something British diver John Craig, 34, knew when heading into the water.
Joined by his diving partner, Craig got into trouble after free-dive spearfishing in the popular Australian area.
After his spear became stuck in a rock, his boat and his partner had drifted away, leaving him nearly five miles out at sea surrounded by sharks.
He then realised he was also being approached by a tiger shark.
Craig told ABC: “Suddenly I saw a huge four-metre tiger shark approaching within arm’s reach.
“Its head was nearly a metre wide, it was about three times the girth of me and it was just like a submarine just circling.
“I quickly turned and saw another large sandbar whaler circling behind me and it was at that point I decided to give up on getting to the boat and save myself.”
He then realised he had to swim to shore to try and save himself.
After three hours, using his spear and gentle swimming motions to not provoke the sharks, he eventually made it to shore having survived.
“By the time I got to the beach, I was exhausted. I could barely stand, my legs were so sore from the 7.5-kilometre swim,” he told ABC.
The diver, originally from Sunderland, was met by boats and planes who had been sent out to find him, fearing the worst.
Thankfully, he came away without injury and met his wife, Emma unharmed.
Despite his ordeal, Craig said won’t it would deter him from going into the sea with the creatures again, something he has done numerous times before without a problem.
He said: “If the circumstances were different I would have been stoked to have that experience.”
Tiger sharks are the second-highest in reported attacks against humans, only beaten by the great white shark, according to the International Shark Attack File.
A surfer in Australia also had not one, but two close calls with sharks in the water.
During a surf competition, athlete Mick Fanning can be seen battling with a great white shark as it gets tangled in his surfboard.
Over the past six months, Iran’s air defense has forced a US U2 spy plane and an RQ-4 reconnaissance drone to change course away from Iranian airspace, its commander says.
The incident with the drone happened on August 26, Air Defense Commander Brigadier General Farzad Esmaili said in a TV interview aired on Saturday night, just as the country marked the force’s anniversary. The U2 incident happened on March 21, with the pilot turning the plane around after a warning from the Iranians, he said.
“The aircraft’s pilot… had to respond because the missile defense systems of the Air Defense Base and Air Force fighters as well as IRGC’s drones were ready to confront it,” Esmaili said, as quoted by Press TV.
The general warned that Iran would not hesitate to down a foreign spy aircraft if it violates the country’s airspace.
Highlighting Tehran’s progress in developing domestic air defense technology, Esmaili said the Bavar-373, Iran’s counterpart and supplement to the Russian S-300 system, will be ready to enter service by the end of the current Iranian year, or by March 2018 under the Gregorian calendar. The first battery of the domestically-produced SAM missiles will be deployed from the Khatam al-Anbiya Air Defense Base, he said.
Esmaili also announced that Iranian military engineers have manufactured highly-sensitive over-the-horizon radar with a range of 3,000km.
Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei praised the role played by the country’s air defense force after meeting military officers and officials on Sunday. He said troops at the Khatam al-Anbiya base were doing “a very good job” protecting Iran and said having “educated, prudent, courageous and tireless human resources” in the country was crucial for its safety.
The Pentagon regularly complains about what it calls harassment by Iran of its Navy ships and aircraft in international airspace near Iran, calling the Iranians’ behavior “unprofessional” and “unsafe.” US assets may pass within a mile of Iranian space and ignore warnings as a test of how they would react, US defense officials said last year, explaining the situation.
