The defending NBA champions were disinvited by President Donald Trump after saying they wouldn’t go to meet him, anyway. Golden State hasn’t visited the White House since Trump took office.
A picture posted to Instagram Thursday night showed the meeting.
The Warriors were in the nation’s capital to play the Wizards, whom they defeated 126-118 off Stephen Curry’s 38-point performance.
Instead of the White House visit, the Warriors decided to tour the National Museum of African-American History and Culture with students from Kevin Durant’s nearby hometown for the second year in a row.
It was unclear where the meeting with Obama took place.
The WNBA’s Minnesota Lynx also participated in community service events last summer after Trump declined to invite the team.
Nancy Pelosi also invited Golden State to the Capitol for the second year in a row.
Trump got into a spat with LeBron James during the NBA Finals last season after he uninvited the Philadelphia Eagles.
“I know no matter who wins this series, no one wants to get invited anyway,” James said at a news conference last year. “It won’t be Golden State or Cleveland going.”
Curry agreed with him, saying: “I agree with ’Bron. Pretty sure the way we handled things last year, kinda staying consistent with that.”
This article originally appeared on the NY Post and was reproduced with permission.
Mir weighed in at his lightest weight since 2013 as he looked in prime condition to display why he was once the most feared heavyweight on the planet.
With his daughter Bella sitting in his corner for the very first time, Mir was confident he wasn’t going to go down with her watching on.
“I’m like, ‘I bet you if I had my daughter in the corner — now let’s see if you’re going to whoop my a** in front of my child,’” Mir said to MMA junkie.
The confidence of the former champ carried over into the opening five minutes of the bout that took place in Honolulu.
Despite a cut being opened up on the face of Mir, he twice took his opponent and looked to have won the round.
But then the tables began to turn as Ayala took control of the bout in the second round and pushed Mir into survival mode.
Ayala’s punches landed and severely opened up the cut on Mir’s face which covered his face and began dripping into his eyes.
Then with his back up against the cage and Ayala continuing to reign down heavy blows, Mir tapped out for the very first time in his mixed martial arts career.
Ayala claims the biggest win of his career, while the brutal beat down at the hands of a lesser opponent raises the questions of retirement for Mir.
After turning professional all the way back in 2001, the man from Las Vegas quickly built a solid reputation inside the Octagon.
His first seven fights as a part of the UFC saw him walk out of the cage with a 7-1 record, his one loss was a TKO.
Then in 2004 he claimed his first ever UFC Heavyweight Championship when he snapped the arm of opponent Tim Sylvia.
Unfortunately Mir was involved in a traffic accident and his time away from the Octagon saw him stripped of his belt.
Despite some key wins during his return, Mir was never able to regain the belt.
He fought Brock Lesnar in his UFC debut and submitted the “Beast Incarnate” with a perfectly timed kneebar.
But it’s his recent run that has left many wondering if it’s now time for the former champ to officially hang up the gloves.
Having not won a fight since July 2015, Mir’s last 10 fights have seen him record only two victories and his latest defeat makes it four in a row.
If it is to be the end for Mir, he amassed an incredible resume inside the UFC and will be remembered as one of the most feared heavyweights.

He insists there are no secrets to his success apart from patience and a little bit of cash.
He said: “It’s just about having the right seed and the right growing conditions and you have to put in plenty of time.
“You do need a little bit of money for compost and fertiliser, but that’s it.”
Civil servant Kevin Fortey, 39, weighed in with an 11st top marrow which at 4.5ft was the same height as his son Jamie,12.
The vegetable had lovingly been wrapped in a duvet each night by Kevin as part of a 36-hour weekly gardening regime at his home in Cwmbran, South Wales.
He said: “These vegetables are like another part of my family, only they don’t answer back.
“My marrows are nurtured and taken care of, that’s our secret.
“We cover them in blankets and when it gets really cold they get tucked in with nice duvets to keep them warm.”

The brothers, from Lymington, Hants, want to beat last year’s weight of 162st.
Libby Mackenzie, three, sits on the latest offering.
Ian said: “This pumpkin should absolutely smash our previous record. We have only been growing it for 96 days and it definitely weighs well over 125st.”
Russia’s cyclists and synchronized swimmers have continued the nation’s impressive performances at the European Championships, with the country sitting firmly atop the medals table as of Monday afternoon.
Russian synchronized swimmer Svetlana Kolesnichenko claimed victory in the technical solo event in Glasgow on Monday, bringing her country an 11th gold and 22nd medal in total at the event.

Kolesnichenko’s flawlessly executed routine was merited a score of 93,4816 – a full two points ahead of the second-placed Ukrainian athlete Yelyzaveta Yakhno. Italy’s Linda Cerruti completed the podium with a result of 90,2282 points.
So far Russia’s “mermaids” synchronized swimmers have taken gold in each event at the tournament apart from the combined free routine, which they opted to miss.

On Sunday, Russian cyclists Darya Shmeleva and Anastasia Voynova finished first and second respectively in the women’s track sprint.
The same day, five-time world champion Yulia Efimova took gold in the women’s 100m breaststroke event, ahead of 2012 Olympic champion Ruta Meilutyte of Lithuania, who settled for silver.
After four days of competition Russia tops the European Championships medals table with 11 golds, six silvers and five bronze.
Italy sits second with seven gold medals, while Great Britain rounds out the top three with six gold medals.

World Cup winners France are holding a parade along the Champs Elysees in Paris, after beating Croatia in the final in Moscow on Sunday.
France claimed World Cup victory with a 4-2 win over a spirited Croatian team, handing Les Bleus a second ever title.
The victory meant Didier Deschamps became just the third man in history to win the World Cup as a manager and a player, having captained the team to glory in their home tournament in 1998.

Lars Eller scored the tiebreaking goal with 7:37 to play, and the Capitals raised the Stanley Cup for the first time in franchise history after a 4-3 victory over the Vegas Golden Knights in Game 5 on Thursday night.
Devante Smith-Pelly tied it with a full-stretch goal midway through the final period of the Capitals' fourth consecutive victory over the Golden Knights, whose incredible expansion season finally ended in the desert.
So did the Capitals' agonizing wait for their first championship since the franchise's debut in 1974. After so many years of postseason flops and crushing disappointment, these Capitals won their fourth consecutive closeout game with a tenacious third-period comeback.
Captain Alex Ovechkin, who scored an early power-play goal, and his teammates are Washington's first championship hockey team — and the city's first champion in a major pro sport since the Redskins won the Super Bowl in early 1992.

Ovechkin won the Conn Smythe Trophy as the playoff MVP after scoring his franchise-record 15th goal of the postseason. When he received the Cup from NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman, he shouted "Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!" through his gap-toothed grin before skating away and hoisting the prize over his head for a victory lap in front of thousands of red-clad fans.
"We did it," Ovechkin said. "That's all that matters. Look at the smiles on my teammates. This is something you'll never forget. This moment, I'll remember for the rest of my life. I'm so happy. It's unbelievable."
After Vegas won the opener, the Capitals capped their four-game surge by rallying from a third-period deficit in this cathartic Game 5, banishing so many years of playoff failure with big goals and rugged play across their lineup.
Braden Holtby made 28 saves in Game 5, outplaying three-time Stanley Cup champion Marc-Andre Fleury in the other net one final time.
The Caps couldn't win a Cup without a little late weirdness, however: The game clock stopped working on the T-Mobile Arena scoreboards during the final minutes, and the Capitals angrily protested while they played on. Vegas never got close to a tying goal. Reilly Smith scored a go-ahead goal late in the second period for the Golden Knights, who won seven of their first eight home playoff games before dropping the last two.

The defeat ends the incredible inaugural season of the Golden Knights, who became the NHL's 31st franchise last fall and immediately launched into arguably the greatest debut in modern pro sports history.
Nate Schmidt and David Perron also scored for Vegas in the second period, but Fleury's 29 saves included a stopped puck that dropped underneath him where Eller could sweep it home for the Cup-winning goal.
Washington's win was its 10th on the road in this postseason, tying the NHL playoff record and illustrating the superior toughness of this team. While past editions of the Caps created their team's reputation for postseason flops in part by losing five playoff series in which they had won three of the first four games, Ovechkin's latest group promptly closed out all four of its series this year on the very first try.
The remarkable Golden Knights hadn't lost four consecutive games in their entire inaugural season before the Caps rolled them.
The Capitals had thousands of fans in the Vegas crowd and a building full of supporters watching back home along with countless thousands outside in the crowded D.C. streets. They got a barn-burner of a finale befitting this thrilling series, with wild shifts of momentum before that bizarre clock incident that didn't appear to affect the outcome.

Ovechkin, who turns 33 later this year, has been among the most exciting and productive players in his sport since joining the Caps in 2005. Yet for all of his goal-scoring prowess and athletic swagger, the Great Eight had never won an Olympic gold medal or a Stanley Cup title.
But after becoming the fifth player in the last quarter-century to score at least 15 goals in a postseason, Ovechkin is a champion at last. He also became the first Russian captain to raise the Cup in NHL history.
The title is also validation for Holtby, who has spent his entire NHL career in Washington. After several seasons of being measured unfavorably against Fleury and other goaltending greats despite his 2016 Vezina Trophy, the Saskatchewan native also has his long-sought ring.
Shortly after Jakub Vrana scored the opening goal of Game 5 on a breakaway early in the second, Schmidt tied it when his fling toward the net deflected off a stick and again off Caps defenseman Matt Niskanen's skate.

Vegas' Brayden McNabb took a penalty just 11 seconds later, and Ovechkin set up in his customary spot in the left faceoff circle to put Nicklas Backstrom's cross-ice pass into a sliver of open net.
Perron battled with Washington's Christian Djoos in the crease moments later and eventually ended up inside Holtby's net while Tomas Tatar's shot glanced off him and in. The Caps challenged for goalie interference, but were denied.
And with Ovechkin in the penalty box for tripping in the final minute of the wild second period, Smith scored into a mostly open net after controlling a pass from Alex Tuch. The teams then engaged in a brawl behind the net, reflecting the unbearable tension with the Cup on the line.
Washington pressed early in the third, but didn't connect until Brooks Orpik created a chance by stopping the puck at the blue line and flinging it to the net against the run of play. Smith-Pelly barely controlled the puck and stretched out to fling it toward the net while falling face-forward, and it slipped inside Fleury's post for the veteran forward's seventh goal of the postseason — matching his total from the entire regular season.
Moments later, the Knights struggled to keep up with the Caps' puck movement and Brett Connolly open for a shot. Fleury stopped it, but the puck fell to the ice underneath him — and Eller fought off Luca Sbisa and slapped the stationary puck into the net for his seventh goal of the postseason.
]]>Trusova’s technical score of 92.35 points – an unofficial world record – was 11 points higher than fellow Russian Alina Zagitova’s gold medal-winning total at the recent PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics.
Sasha Trusova, at 13, becomes the first female skater in history to land two quad jumps in one program, and the first female skater to land a quad toe loop. Her TS for the FS is 92.35, the highest technical score ever recorded among junior and senior female skaters alike.

— YUZURU HANYU (@taekookstress) March 12, 2018
Despite making history with her double quad jump, Trusova said she is not willing to rest on her laurels, and even plans to add a triple Axel and a quadruple Lutz to her free routine.
Last month, the whole world witnessed a fierce battle between Zagitova and Evgenia Medvedeva, who both broke the world record competing at PyeongChang. The two were lauded for their performance in South Korea, where Zagitova clinched gold ahead of silver medalist Medvedeva.
The 15-year-old Zagitova displayed the most technically-complicated program, putting all of her jumps into the second part of the program, a step which gave her a critical advantage over her rivals.
Quads aren’t just for the men anymore. Ladies Figure Skating is about to start their own quad revolution. History made today. Alexandra Trusova became the first to land 2 quads in women’s competition….at 13! https://t.co/ih2QqdwL6a#alexandratrusova
— Tara Lipinski (@taralipinski) March 10, 2018
However, just weeks after the Games ended, Zagitova’s stunning result has been eclipsed by Trusova, who achieved her impressive score for her technical elements at the championships in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Trusova not only managed to beat Zagitova’s Olympic result by more than 11 points, but her tally appeared to be higher than the technical scores of three-time world champion from Canada Patrick Chan, as well as Russia’s Mikhail Kolyada and Dmitry Aliev, who all were in the top eight of the men’s singles skating event in PyeongChang.
Trusova’s overall score of 225.52 points would have brought her 4th place at the 2018 Winter Games, but she is not yet eligible to compete at senior level because of her age. She will be allowed to compete in senior competitions in 2020 when she turns 15, the same age as Zagitova.
The newly-crowned world junior champion was the first skater to land a quadruple toe loop at official figure skating events. She also became the first woman to include two quads into her routine which were deemed fully rotated by the judges.
Trusova, who was immediately dubbed ‘the princess of quads’, became the second female skater to execute a single quad at an international competition, after Japan’s Miki Ando nailed a quadruple Salchow at the 2002 Junior Grand Prix Final.
The result meant Russian figure skaters have won the junior world championships seven times in the last eight years, where four titles were grabbed by girls trained by prominent Russian coach Eteri Turberidze.
Turberidze was the trainer who last month guided Zagitova and Medvedeva to their Olympic medals, and previously trained 2014 Olympic team event champion Yulia Lipnistkaya.

Elsewhere, West Ham stayed alive with a goalless draw at Shrewsbury and Tottenham scored three goals in eight second-half minutes to see off the challenge of League One side AFC Wimbledon.
Championship side Forest revived memories of their glory years under Brian Clough, putting 13-times winners Arsenal to the sword in an incident-packed 4-2 win at the City Ground.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, who made nine changes to the side that drew with Chelsea in the Premier League in midweek, defended his team selection.
“We have many players on the edge and we play again on Wednesday,” he said. “When you don’t win the selection is always questioned.
“I believe we had an experienced team — eight or nine internationals. It would be easy to think that was the problem.
“When you’re against a team like that they’re very difficult to beat. Defensively you cannot afford the mistakes we made.” US international Eric Lichaj opened the scoring for the home side with a header midway through the first half but Per Mertesacker equalised for the away team just three minutes later.
However, Forest continued to probe an inexperienced Arsenal line-up and got their reward just before halftime when Lichaj volleyed in spectacularly from the edge of the box.
Wenger, serving a touchline ban, was forced to watch powerless from the stands as Rob Holding conceded a penalty that teenager Ben Brereton converted in the 64th minute to stretch the home side’s lead to 3-1.
Danny Welbeck gave Arsenal hope with just over 10 minutes to go but Kieran Dowell netted from the penalty spot again to seal victory for the second-tier side over the Premier League visitors.
In a breathless final few minutes Forest’s Joe Worrall was sent off but it was too late for Arsenal to take advantage.
Nottingham Forest’s caretaker manager Gary Brazil said the result was something the former European champions could build on.
“This football club should be playing against the Arsenals of this world, and they should be beating them,” he added.
“These fans deserve to be watching Premier League teams and that’s what we’ve got to drive towards.”
LEEDS SHOCK
In the early kick-off, on-loan forward Shawn McCoulsky headed in a dramatic 89th-minute winner for Welsh club Newport County to seal a 2-1 victory against 1972 Cup winners Leeds.
Leeds had taken an early lead at Rodney Parade when Gaetano Berardi’s deflected long-range shot found the net.
But Newport, currently 11th in League Two — the fourth tier of the English game — levelled 14 minutes from time when Leeds defender Conor Shaughnessy sliced into his own net.
Infused with fresh belief in front of a passionate Welsh crowd, Newport pressed for a winner, and with a minute to go on-loan substitute McCoulsky rose highest at a corner to head in the decisive goal and send the stadium into raptures.
“This is much better beating Championship teams like Leeds,” said Newport manager Michael Flynn. “I don’t want to be winning relegation battles, I want to be winning FA Cup ties and climbing the table.”
HART SAVES
West Ham had goalkeeper Joe Hart to thank for keeping them in the Cup with a 0-0 draw after an uninspired performance against Shrewsbury Town of the third tier.
The England goalkeeper, returning to the club where he started his career, made a fine save from Mat Sadler with about 10 minutes to go until the interval and repeated the trick against Alex Rodman.
“The players are a little bit deflated almost,” said Shrewsbury Town manager Paul Hurst.
“But we have a replay to look forward to,” he added. “We know it will be tough. They will be at home, more comfortable in their own stadium.” At Wembley, Harry Kane broke the deadlock against AFC Wimbledon with just under half an hour to go before Kane again and Jan Vertonghen made it 3-0 to put the game beyond the reach of the visitors.
On Saturday, League Two Coventry City sent Premier League side Stoke City crashing out, prompting the sacking of Mark Hughes.
Jaylen Brown led the way for the Celtics with 22 points, with every Boston starter finishing in double figures as they grinded to a 92-88 comeback victory.
The Celtics win puts a halt to the Warriors win streak, which sat at seven before the stunning loss in TD Garden.
Al Horford finished with 18 points and 11 rebounds, for the Celtics, while Kyrie Irving had 16 points of his own.

It was a tough night for the Warriors, who were confronted with an imposing Celtics defence, particularly in the second half.
Kevin Durant posted a game-high 24 points in the road loss, while Klay Thompson finished with 13 points.
Thompson and Stephen Curry were a combined 5-of-20 from behind the three-point line.
Aron Baynes came off the bench for the Celtics, finishing with four points and five rebounds in 12 minutes of action.
The Celtics improved to 14-2 on the season, while the Warriors now sit at 11-4.
More to come!
