Mark Kelly has a 47%-45% lead over Blake Masters in the Arizona Senate race, per a new Emerson poll.
Secretary of State Katie Hobbs and former television journalist Kari Lake are tied at 46% support.
Arizona in recent years has shifted from a Republican stronghold to a Southwestern swing state.
Arizona Democratic Sen. Mark Kelly has a narrow two-point lead over Republican challenger Blake Masters in state's hotly-contested Senate race, according to a new Emerson College poll.
The survey showed Kelly earning 47% of the vote, while Masters garnered 45% support; five percent of respondents were undecided.

Alaska Governor Bill Walker, a political independent, halted his re-election campaign and endorsed his Democratic challenger, former Sen. Mark Begich.
Neither had appeared capable of defeating the Republican front-runner, former state Senator Mike Dunleavy.
Walker said his decision to bow out was based entirely on what he felt was “best for Alaska.”
Public opinion surveys were already showing Dunleavy running well ahead of the two other men and indicated Begich had greater support than the incumbent governor.

Far-right Congressman Jair Bolsonaro won nearly half the votes in Brazil’s first-round presidential election.
Bolsonaro won 46.3 percent of valid ballots, far ahead of leftist Fernando Haddad’s 29 percent but short of the outright majority needed to avoid a runoff election.
The two will face-off in a second round of voting on October 28.
BRASILIA (Reuters) – Far-right Congressman and former Army captain Jair Bolsonaro won nearly half the votes in Brazil’s first-round presidential election on Sunday, marking a major shift to the right in Latin America’s largest nation fueled by voters’ anger at corruption.
In what is likely to be a deeply polarizing race, Bolsonaro, who has praised Brazil’s 1964-1985 military dictatorship, will face leftist Fernando Haddad, the former mayor of Sao Paulo, in a second round of voting on Oct. 28.See the rest of the story at Business Insider

Huawei P20 Pro has been very well received since it arrived on the smartphone market.
In fact, the Chinese tech giant recently declared both it and the regular P20 have sold over 10million units combined.
In a statement, the company said: “Huawei today announced that it has sold 10 million units of Huawei P20 Pro and Huawei P20 in the first five months, empowering photography enthusiasts globally to take stunning photos with their smartphones.
“This remarkable milestone is testament to global consumers’ confidence in the Huawei brand, and the innovative technology that Huawei has engineered for its photography-centric line of flagship devices.
“Huawei’s latest flagship devices sold very well in key markets such as China and Western Europe, where they are performing significantly better than their predecessors.”
And part of the reason for the flagship’s success is surely the wealth of incredible features it brought to the table when it released earlier this year.
The P20 Pro packs a 4,000mAh battery, a gorgeous 6.1-inch display and a triple camera system capable to taking stunning images in low-light conditions.
Express.co.uk adored the P20 Pro when we reviewed it, giving it five out of five stars.
We declared: “Huawei has been making smartphones for years but nothing has grabbed our attention quite like the P20 Pro.
“This flagship easily keeps pace with the competition and in many ways it actually outclasses its rivals.
“The triple camera is fabulous, it looks great and that battery life is so impressive other manufacturers should be embarrassed about their lacklustre performance.”
But Huawei looks set to release a new smartphone next month that could be its best ever.
The firm recently released its Mate 20 Lite smartphone that is designed to be a more affordable device.
But two more devices bearing the same Mate 20 name are expected to be shown off in London on October 16.
The first is predicted to be dubbed the “Mate 20” while the second is presumed to be called the “Mate 20 Pro” that will tout the most premium features of the trio.
And now it appears the new flagship has leaked thanks to images that have emerged on Weibo.
Mate 20 Pro had been rumoured to boast a colossal 6.9-inch display and the pictures appear to line up with that.
A gargantuan device can be seen touting a notch at the top.
The screen also appears curved, a characteristic not seen on either the Mate 20 Lite or the P20 Pro.
Mate 20 Pro has also been rumoured to boast a futuristic fingerprint sensor that will be placed in the front display.
And other alleged images of the phone spotted in the wild seemingly showed it with a similar triple-lens camera to the P20 Pro.
Although the new photos appear to show an incredibly tantalising device, Huawei fans will not have to wait long to see what the firm has in store for its next flagship.
Express.co.uk will be covering the Chinese tech behemoth’s event in London on October 16.

The exchange between the two Democrats over how to fix New York’s flailing subway system got so heated, they started interrupting one another. This was when Cuomo, who is seeking a third term as the state’s governor, appeared to inadvertently admit he was lying.
“Can you stop interrupting?” Cuomo asked, responding to an unwelcome interjection from Nixon, to which she shot back: “Can you stop lying?” Cuomo responded: “As soon as you do.”
Cuomo’s critics and Nixon’s supporters immediately seized on the comment as one of the more revealing moments of the hour-long debate.
Andrew Cuomo: "Excuse me, can you stop interuppting?"
Cynthia Nixon: "Can you stop lying?"
Andrew Cuomo: "As soon as you do."
Did he just own himself by admitting he’s been lying? 😂#NYGovDebate
During the debate, Cuomo took a jab at Nixon for her former career as an actress, claiming that she “lives in the world of fiction,” while he “lives in the world of fact,” reminding her that “this is the real world.” Nixon argued that “experience doesn’t mean that much if you’re not actually good at governing.”
With just two weeks to go until the primary election on September 13, Nixon faces a huge uphill battle, with some estimates suggesting that she is more than 30 points behind Cuomo in the polls.
This might not be a lost cause just yet, however, with another New York primary serving as example – that of Democratic socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. She managed to pull off a huge upset victory over 10-term incumbent Democrat Joe Crowley in June despite trailing 36 points behind Crowley in the polls three weeks out from voting day. Ocasio-Cortez ended up beating Crowley by 15 points. Now Nixon is hoping to pull off a similar victory.
What is strange about the race is that Nixon is the kind of candidate that the Democratic party typically likes to put forward; her victory would give New York its first female and LGBT governor. Yet, despite the fact that she espouses policies popular with many voters these days, the odds are stacked heavily against her.

While Cuomo boasts a war chest of more than $ 24 million, Nixon, who has typically been taking smaller-dollar donations (along with some more significant injections of cash from wealthy supporters in the entertainment industry), can’t afford to run TV ads for her campaign and has been focusing her efforts on online outreach.
Cuomo also enjoys the support of the entire Democratic establishment. Then again, so did Crowley and it didn’t matter when voters in New York’s 14th district were given the choice between an establishment incumbent and a fresh-faced progressive candidate. The difference here is, it’s not just one very progressive and ethnically diverse district voting, it’s the whole state.
Ocasio-Cortez is not the only political newcomer giving the Nixon team hope. Another progressive Democrat, Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum, running for Florida governor, just pulled off a similar primary upset victory against a slew of Democratic rivals, shocking the Florida establishment. Polls had put Gillum at just 16 percent before the vote – but he won more than 34 percent at the ballot box.
Gillum, a Bernie Sanders-endorsed candidate, was the only leading Democrat in a crowded field who supported a “Medicare-for-all” single-payer healthcare system, something which Nixon has also endorsed and which more traditional Democrats (who often take money from healthcare lobbyists) have been reluctant to put their support behind, despite 70 percent support for the policy among Americans, according to a recent survey.
Nixon has challenged Cuomo from the left in a similar way, accusing him multiple times during the campaign of being “corrupt,” a “corporate democrat” and an “Albany insider” who has not served the state well. She has also backed policies like the legalization of marijuana and the abolition of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency, as Ocasio-Cortez and Gillum did.

Dodge recently teased an updated 2019 Challenger SRT Hellcat sports coupe complete with an all-new hood with dual scoops. It didn’t reveal anything else about the vehicle, saying more details were coming. And now we have more details, but not in the way Dodge probably wanted. We can now see the updated Hellcat with the new hood.
To be perfectly honest, it’s pretty much what we expected. The teaser photos indicated that the hood was the only major body change, and this car confirms it. The rest of the body is identical to a normal Hellcat. The bumpers, grille mesh, even the wheels are all standard Hellcat parts. Even the slotted rotors and Brembo calipers look the same. This car does suggest that the hood will be available on both the narrow-body Hellcat and the Hellcat Widebody, the latter of which was featured in the teaser images.
There is actually one other minor difference on this 2019 Hellcat’s exterior, and that’s the grille badging. There’s now a vintage-style badge with “Challenger” written in script off to one side. Currently only one grille and badge design is available on Hellcat, and it features just the SRT Hellcat logo. It appears the SRT badge is still present, but blocked off on this prototype. So it’s possible this new badge comes with the new hood as a sort of retro package for Hellcat.
We should have all the details on this and other 2019 Challengers when the car is officially revealed later this summer.

https://briefnews.eu/2019-dodge-challenger-srt-hellcat-is-getting-a-meaner-hood/#respondWed, 02 May 2018 12:31:09 +0000http://briefnews.eu/2019-dodge-challenger-srt-hellcat-is-getting-a-meaner-hood/ Though we weren’t really worried Dodge would discontinue it, we’re glad to hear the Dodge Challenger Hellcat will continue into the 2019 model year. It’s also getting some updates for the new year, as shown in these teasers from Dodge. The biggest one we can see is the hood, which trades the relatively subtle center scoop and dual heat extractors for a pair of big angry nostrils. Dodge says the twin hood scoops are a throwback to past Dodge performance models, take the Dart Swinger, for example. They also bring to mind some mid- to late-2000s Pontiacs, but we’ll try to focus on the classic Mopars.
A little bit of Photoshop work helps highlight some other aspects of the 2019 Challenger Hellcat. The Hellcat Widebody will clearly continue for the new year, too, as the vehicle in the teaser image has the bulging arches found on that Challenger as well as the one-year-only Demon. We can also make out five-spoke wheels that may have split spokes. Most of the body looks like the current model, too, so we don’t expect any major changes to the chassis or powertrain.
The only other information Dodge revealed about the 2019 Challenger is that more information will come this summer. So expect to hear more in just a few months.

When fisherman catch big fish, they want the world to know about it. That’s approximately how the Indiana State Police felt when they busted a 707-horsepower muscle car booking it at more than 160 miles per hour. The ISP were chuffed enough about the catch that they put out a press release titled, “160 Mile Per Hour Hellcat Tamed On The Indiana Toll Road.” The Dodge Challenger Hellcat driver, J. Jesus Duran Sandoval, told the arresting officer that he was “just trying to get to Maryland.”
The incident began just after Trooper Dustin Eggert finished helping a stranded motorist on the toll road at about 7 p.m. Eggert was merging back into traffic when he saw the Hellcat blast past at well beyond the 70-mph speed limit, allegedly weaving through traffic and — shock! — not using a turn signal for lane changes. With a Bandit on his hands, Eggert took the role of Smokey, and just like Burt Reynolds movies, couldn’t catch the offender. Seems that Indiana State Police Dodge Charger Pursuit vehicles are speed limited to 150 mph, allowing the Hellcat to pull away.
Eggert radioed for officers ahead to look out for the red baron, but received an assist before other LEOs swooped in: Eggert caught up to the Hellcat 11 miles down the road when the red coupe got held up behind two semis driving next to one another on the two-lane toll road. Sandoval pulled over, admitted he was doing a little more than 160 mph, then delivered The “Maryland” Defense unfazed by the fact that Maryland was more than 500 miles from his location. Turns out that 38-year-old Sandoval, from Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, was also unbothered by driving on an expired license.
The coppers took Sandoval to the LaPorte County Jail and booked him on reckless driving, bond set at $ 505, court date set for April 2. The ISP said this is the second time in two weeks they’ve busted someone doing more than 130 on the Indiana Toll Road. It’s the second time in a year they’ve busted a Hellcat doing so — in April 2017, another pilot played Bat out of Hellcat at 158 mph, explaining his speed as a bit of show-and-tell for his friends in the car.
