During Daenerys Targaryen’ (played by Emila Clarke) siege on King’s Landing, Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) lost her life as she refused to leave home even though the city was burning. Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) and Cersei shared both parents and children together and the couple faced many challenges over the seasons’ as Jaime continued to battle with his conscience. However, the star-crossed lovers were reunited and tragically lost their lives together when the city came crumbling down.

Game of Thrones fans will remember Cersei as a ruler who infamously showed no mercy on those who wronged her.

Jaime also started the HBO series this way but fans began to see a different side to him when he was held hostage by Brienne of Tarth (Gwendoline Christie).

Although their loyalties were with two opposing houses, Jaime and Brienne had an understanding which blossomed into a friendship.

However, ultimately Jaime only had eyes for one woman in his heart and returned to Cersei when he heard of the impending attack on King’s Landing.

During the lovers final scene, the script notes the room was overrun with flames in addition to the crumbling ceiling.

Meanwhile in the scene where Tyrion discovers his siblings, the script confirms there’s no way the pair could have survived.

“All of the skulls have been blackened and scorched by the extreme heat of the fires that raged for hours,” the script notes.

This detail silences any doubt over whether the pair were simply unlucky to have died in the way that they did.

Elsewhere, Theon Greyjoy (Alfie Allen) has spoken out on the “competition” between the top stars in the show.

“At the beginning, me, Kit Harington and Richard Madden were definitely in some sort of competition about who could be in the best shape,” he confessed to The Guardian.

“It’s not like we were comparing, but there was definitely a macho vibe going around.”

“But I wouldn’t say there was competition in any sense other than who has the best six-pack.”

“And Kit will always win that,” Alfie added.

Game of Thrones is no stranger to a bit of foreshadowing in its storylines.

The big question for many fans of the HBO series is who will end up on the Iron Throne.

That is, if anyone ends up sitting on the coveted seat of power.

However, one fan believes those who have made claims to the throne are doomed to never become the King or Queen of Westeros.

The theory stems from a conversation held between Tywin Lannister (played by Charles Dance) and Joffrey Baratheon (Jack Gleeson).

Reddit user laser-circus wrote: “Way back when Tywin and Joffrey were alive, this quote always stuck out to me and has served as an indicator to see who would be the true king in the end. Tywin said to Joffrey: Any man who must say ‘I am the king’ is no true king.

“And by extension, I believe that would also pertain to women who have said they are the queen ruler of the seven kingdoms.

“I think anyone who made that mistake would spell their failure to actually rule in the end or even survive it. It didn’t work well for anyone that said it before. The Baratheon brothers, Joffrey, and etc. have also had to say they were kings ended up dead.

“So neither Cersei, Dany nor Jon will sit on that throne in the end because they have all had to make their position as rightful ruler known to others.

“I realised that when Jon wanted to leave Dragonstone and stated that he is the king to Dany. It’s too bad, but… he dead. That’s my theory anyway.”

Could this mean those who have declared a claim to the throne, like Cersei (Lena Headey) and Daenerys (Emilia Clarke), will never claim it?

It remains to be seen whether anyone will end up on the throne at all.

Despite many being after it, it could be that all the characters are wiped out before anybody gets the chance to.

The White Walkers and the wights are on their way down south and everyone is at risk.

One star of the show has predicted it could have quite a brutal ending.

Richard Madden played Robb Stark on the fantasy epic before his untimely demise at the Red Wedding.

He said of the finale to the Hollywood Reporter: “I kind of think it’s just going to be three dragons flying around, and everyone else is dead.

”It’s a possibility!”

Although a definite date for the final is yet to be revealed, it looks to be sometime in April.

Game of Thrones season 8 will return to HBO and Sky Atlantic later this year. Seasons 1-7 are currently streaming on NOW TV.

Game of Thrones season 8 spoilers: Cersei Lannister’s death sealed in final series? https://briefnews.eu/game-of-thrones-season-8-spoilers-cersei-lannisters-death-sealed-in-final-series/ https://briefnews.eu/game-of-thrones-season-8-spoilers-cersei-lannisters-death-sealed-in-final-series/#respond Fri, 04 Jan 2019 08:00:44 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/game-of-thrones-season-8-spoilers-cersei-lannisters-death-sealed-in-final-series/

’ Cersei (played by Lena Headey) is not well-liked on the hit series and many viewers have wanted her dead from the very first season.

Now it looks like the evil queen could finally be killed off in the eighth and final run of the show.

Cersei has made a lot of enemies, so it is no surprise that BetVictor have found her implied probability of dying is 98 per cent.

She is the second character most likely to be killed off after Euron Greyjoy (Pilou Asbaek), her current partner in crime.

In the final episode of season seven, Cersei promised Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), she would join their fight against the Night King.

However, she later revealed to her brother and lover Jaime (Nikolaj Coster Waldau) she had no intention of helping.

Instead, Euron had gone to recruit the Golden Company to help her defeat Jon and Daenerys in order to secure the Iron Throne.

Could Cersei and Euron’s plan go wrong and result in their deaths?

If Cersei does survive, it looks likely she will end up mourning for her brother.

BetVictor have predicted there is a 92 per cent chance Jaime will die.

Meanwhile, this most likely to survive the final series are Samwell Tarly (John Bradley), Gilly (Hannah Murray) and Arya Stark (Maisie Williams).

Jon and Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright) also look likely to survive.

However, Sansa Stark’s (Sophie Turner) probability of death is slated at 58 per cent.

It comes after Daenerys star .

Speaking to TV Insider, she dished: “Daenerys’ lifelong dream has been to avenge her family and claim her rightful seat on the Iron Throne.

“She truly loves Jon. Were she to find out about his title, it would cut deep.”

Meanwhile, Kit who stars as Jon, said it would be “hard” for his character to learn the truth about Danerys.

“Jon is someone who played by the book,” he added. “He cannot lie.”

Fans will have to wait until later this year to find out if the pair will learn the truth or not.

Game of Thrones season 8 news: Cersei Lannister for shock VICTORY? Evil queen Cersei (played by Lena Headey) has been terrorising Game of Thrones characters for years.

She is currently sitting on the Iron Throne but has plenty of competition from the likes of Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke).

With many fans turning their heads to how the HBO hit will end, it seems they could be in for a shock.

One Reddit user started a thread about who will sit on the Iron Throne at the end of the series.

And it seems one has a rather unique way of looking at things.

eintnohick suggested: “I bet it’s Cersei [who ends up on the Iron Throne].

“Because ‘there is no way Cersei survives’.

“It would be the biggest (realistic) shocker for sure.”

However, paxgarmana thinks the Iron Throne will fall to Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner).

They insisted: “Ok, we know that [George R R Martin] doesn’t go with the obvious path.

“With that in mind, I think it is doubtful that Jon or Dany take the Iron Throne – I think they are going to die.

“Similarly, there is no way Cersei will survive.”

They continued: “After that, who is left from a major house? The Lannisters will be discredited. Martel is dead, the Tullys are dead. Highgarden is dead. Frey is dead. Robin Arryn is… yeah.

“Shouldn’t the Iron Throne not pretty much fall to Sansa by default?”

This comes as Kristian Nairn revealed he wasn’t a fan of Ed Sheeran’s Game of Thrones season six cameo.

Speaking to HuffPost, Hodor star Kristian Nairn spoke about the appearance and why it didn’t belong in Westeros.

He said: “I’m not a fan of the cameos in Game of Thrones.

“I don’t like them. I think it’s stupid.

“I don’t mind going on the record on that. I just think it takes you right out of the world.”

He added: “Especially Ed Sheeran. I was like ‘why is Ed Sheeran here?’

“I mean, Ed Sheeran’s great. He’s a great guy, great musician, but why is he in Game of Thrones?”

Game of Thrones season 8: Cersei Lannister to ‘die’ in HUGE King’s Landing fire https://briefnews.eu/game-of-thrones-season-8-cersei-lannister-to-die-in-huge-kings-landing-fire/ https://briefnews.eu/game-of-thrones-season-8-cersei-lannister-to-die-in-huge-kings-landing-fire/#respond Sun, 24 Jun 2018 06:21:18 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/game-of-thrones-season-8-cersei-lannister-to-die-in-huge-kings-landing-fire/

The Game of Thrones production crew built a brand new King’s Landing set for season eight, which has featured prominently at the Titanic Studios set in Belfast, Ireland.

Ever since it’s erection, the huge set has been witnessed by numerous fans getting smashed and destroyed over the course of months as filming on the HBO series continues.

The set has already been through the ringer with various battle scenes seemingly taking place, leaving the front gate completely covered in fire ash.

A dome in the centre of the city has also been split open.

But now one fan has shared a video of the set which shows things going one step further.

Twitter user A Red Priestess posted footage of the earlier-mentioned dome completely ablaze as plumes of billowing black smoke hung over the entire set.

“Better quality video. I hadn’t seen the small fire on the left #GameOfThrones,” the user posted next to the clip.

As the fan noted, another part of the city was also alight with flames, so what’s going down on the ground can’t be good.

Complicated villain Cersei (played by Lena Headey) currently rules King’s Landing after the death of her children Tommen (Dean-Charles Chapman, Joffrey (Jack Gleeson) and Myrcella Baratheon (Nell Tiger-Free).

Ending up being the queen of the lands and sitting on the Iron Throne by default, she has been desperate to keep her position and that of House Lannister in power ever since.

But if the King’s Landing set’s latest spoilers are anything to go by, it seems that a savage blaze could be the way the mother-of-three finally goes out.

What’s more, if this is the case then it seems to confirm exactly who will take her place.

A raging fire signals there could be dragons involved in the city’s destruction, rather than White Walkers.

It also means the now-turned ice dragon Viserion, who blasts ice blue flames, could be nowhere near the scene.

Is the culprit in fact Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke)?

The white-haired princess may have finally decided to take down her main enemy with her remaining two dragons Drogon and Rhaegal in tow.

But rather than mean the mother of dragons is successful in her quest to rule the whole of Westeros with her allies Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) and Jon Snow (Kit Harington), it could be something rather different.

Instead, Daenerys could be fulfilling the prophecy to become unhinged, just as her father the Mad King Aerys did before her, and therefore proving her reign would also be one filled with terror.

In that case, could King of the North Jon be set to swoop in and take her place at the last moment?

Game of Thrones season 8 spoilers: Cersei Lannister’s killer exposed in prophecy clue? https://briefnews.eu/game-of-thrones-season-8-spoilers-cersei-lannisters-killer-exposed-in-prophecy-clue/ https://briefnews.eu/game-of-thrones-season-8-spoilers-cersei-lannisters-killer-exposed-in-prophecy-clue/#respond Sat, 23 Jun 2018 04:54:11 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/game-of-thrones-season-8-spoilers-cersei-lannisters-killer-exposed-in-prophecy-clue/

The one to potentially slay Cersei (played by Lena Headey) in season eight of Game of Thrones could have prematurely been revealed.

In the original A Song of Ice and Fire books by George R. R. Martin on which the HBO drama is based, it is told that when Cersei she a child, she went along with her friends Jayne Farman and Melara Hetherspoon to find a witch, Maggy the Frog, in the forest.

Cersei had three questions for the mysterious woman and in the last one she asked whether or not she would have children with her husband, the king.

Maggy replied: “Oh, aye. Six-and-ten for him, and three for you. Gold shall be their crowns and gold their shrouds, she said. And when your tears have drowned you, the valonqar shall wrap his hands about your pale white throat and choke the life from you.”

The “valonqar” is said to mean little brother in High Valyrian according to Septa Saranella and naturally, Cersei was terrified.

Popular suspects have included Cersei’s literal younger brothers, but some fans think it could mean the phrase in a different sense and so other names have also been thrown into the ring.

But in a poll run by Express.co.uk, readers voted overwhelming for Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) as he won 56 per cent of the vote.

Although the incestuous siblings are twins, Jaime is a fraction younger than Cersei meaning he fits the description.

Their relationship was last seen to be wearing thin as Jaime strode off northward with a view to helping the cause against the White Walkers.

Could he be the valonqar?

In second place sits Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) on 33 per cent as being the one to finish Cersei off.

Although the prophecy describes the valonqar as wrapping “his” hands around her throat, Arya cannot be ruled out.

When it’s considered that Arya has the skills of a Faceless Man, male pronouns could apply to the girl, especially as she has had Cersei on her kill list since the very beginning.

Meanwhile, Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) has been a longstanding contender for the title as he and his elder sister have always endured a bad relationship.

As the family outcast, Tyrion has continually rebelled against his sister and their disdain for each other is well known. However, only eight per cent of readers plumped for him as the valonqar.

Another “little brother” in the fantasy epic is the Hound, whose elder sibling is Lannister guard dog the Mountain (Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson).

Having fled the Lannister’s service, the Hound has come a long way in terms of character development and considering his hatred for both Cersei and his brother, will he attack them both?

However, there could be a spanner in the works as when the programme depicted the events of the book, the last part of the prophecy was omitted.

It is not known why the show didn’t not include the line, but that doesn’t mean the “valonqar” won’t be the one to take down Cersei, if she does die.

The rest of the prophecy has since come true and with the White Walkers looming and the fight for the Iron Throne heating up, Cersei’s days may be numbered.

Game of Thrones season 8 spoilers: Cersei Lannister FIRST to die? Here's the proof https://briefnews.eu/game-of-thrones-season-8-spoilers-cersei-lannister-first-to-die-heres-the-proof/ https://briefnews.eu/game-of-thrones-season-8-spoilers-cersei-lannister-first-to-die-heres-the-proof/#respond Sun, 08 Apr 2018 03:18:45 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/game-of-thrones-season-8-spoilers-cersei-lannister-first-to-die-heres-the-proof/

Cersei (played by Lena Headey) has certainly made plenty of enemies and with the White Walkers marching south, she’s in trouble.

A poll run by Express.co.uk shows a staggering amount of people think the villainess will be making the earliest exit from Game of Thrones.

Out of 15,000 respondents, 33 per cent think Cersei will be the first casualty of the eighth season.

Heavy is the head that wears the crown, and seeing as Cersei is the one who currently sits on the Iron Throne it perhaps isn’t surprising that she’d be the first to snuff it.

The way she dies may have also been revealed already, as it transpires her fate could’ve been sealed several seasons ago.

In series five, a flashback showed a young Cersei visiting future teller Maggy the Frog, who foreshadowed a terrible fate for her children.

She asked: “Will the king and I have children?”

To which Maggy replied: “Oh, aye. Six-and-ten for him, and three for you. Gold shall be their crowns and gold their shrouds. And when your tears have drowned you, the valonqar shall wrap his hands about your pale white throat and choke the life from you.”

However, as Cersei announced she was pregnant in series seven with her fourth child, according to the prophecy, it looks as though she won’t live long enough to have the next child.

And, as valonqar means “little brother” in High Valyrian, she could find herself slain by Tyrion (Peter Dinklage).

In the poll, Cersei was closely followed by her brother and lover, Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau), as 29 per cent of fans believe he could die early on.

He’s followed by Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) at 20 per cent, Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) at eight per cent and Daenerys Targaryen at seven per cent.

However, Jon Snow (Kit Harington) comes in with a very low three per cent suggesting many think he could be making it to the climax of the series.

Although, it could be entirely possible that everyone on the show will die as the series draws to a close.

HBO boss Francesca Orsi hinted toward this fatal possible end when she spoke about the final table read of the show last month.

Speaking at a panel titled The Best of HBO, Francesca said: “It was a really powerful moment in our lives and our careers.”

However she then dropped an enormous hint on the fate of the cast.

She continued: “None of the cast had received the scripts prior, and one by one they started falling down to their deaths.”

The end of the season eight read-through saw the cast participating in a 15-20 minute standing ovation, according to Francesca.

“It was amazing. By the very end, everyone looked down and looked up and tears were in their eyes,” she said.

With so many fighting against each other, and the White Walkers fighting everyone, could the entire population of Westerns be wiped out?

Game of Thrones season 8 spoilers: Cersei Lannister's final fate predicted in series five? https://briefnews.eu/game-of-thrones-season-8-spoilers-cersei-lannisters-final-fate-predicted-in-series-five/ https://briefnews.eu/game-of-thrones-season-8-spoilers-cersei-lannisters-final-fate-predicted-in-series-five/#respond Sun, 01 Apr 2018 18:07:44 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/game-of-thrones-season-8-spoilers-cersei-lannisters-final-fate-predicted-in-series-five/

In fact, it could be that her fate was exposed as far back as season five of Game of Thrones.

In season seven, Cersei (played by Lena Headey) revealed to once more be pregnant by her brother and lover, Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) but some foreshadowing from an earlier series suggests it won’t end well for her.

One theory posted to a fan forum has uncovered one potential plot that could be Cersei’s undoing.

Redditor Zachgiaco wrote: “In Season 5, Episode 1, it starts off with a prologue scene of Cersei and her friend, Melara Hetherspoon running in the woods somewhere within the Westerlands.

“They come across a woods witch, Maggy, where Cersei demands the witch to give her information on whether or not she will be queen. Cersei’s third question is if she and the King will have children.

“Maggy’s response is that the King would have 20 but Cersei would only have three, who will all die before she does.

“From this, you can deduce that Cersei will die sometime within season eight, considering she is currently pregnant with a fourth child, whether or not it be from Daenerys, or Jon, after they, presumably, defeat the Night King, or if the Night King will make it to King’s Landing and there is a final defence for the side of the living, or if she will die in some other way.

“The possibilities are endless on how the great show runners will decide to end her, but it is definitely going to happen within the season.

“To be honest, good riddance.”

Subsequently, it could be that Cersei is set for death, or she will miscarry the baby, if it even exists at all.

Some fans doubt the Queen really is with child, and think it could just be part of a master plan.

One fan responded: “Does everyone believe she’s pregnant? I have my suspicions that she said it to get Jamie back in line and it’s not true.”

While another replied: “I doubt that Cersei is pregnant. It’s just a trick to manipulate Jaime.”

Meanwhile, other fans think Jaime has predicted the details of his own death in an earlier season.

The fan, called ICBanMI, said: “I have a prediction about Jamie Lannister.

“Season 5, episode 4, Jaime and Bronn go to Dorn and have a little bromance on a beach. They have a conversation about how they want to die.

“Jaime says, ‘In the arms of the woman I love.’ I predict he will die and be in the arms of Brienne of Tarth. Thoughts?”

The fan later went on to say that the “woman” in question could have been Cersei, but turns out to be Brienne (Gwendoline Christie) as the series comes to a close

They continued: “I mean, he has to keep it ambiguous if [he’s thinking of] Cersei… being his sister.

“It would be very clever if at that moment, it was Cersei…. but in the end it’s Brienne that makes his wish come true, since he realises her and him are identical in a lot of regards.”

Viewers will just have to wait and see what happens in the final series, which is set to be released some time next year.

Game of Thrones season 8 news: Tyrion Lannister’s plan EXPOSED and it’s fatal for Cersei https://briefnews.eu/game-of-thrones-season-8-news-tyrion-lannisters-plan-exposed-and-its-fatal-for-cersei/ https://briefnews.eu/game-of-thrones-season-8-news-tyrion-lannisters-plan-exposed-and-its-fatal-for-cersei/#respond Thu, 08 Mar 2018 17:11:11 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/game-of-thrones-season-8-news-tyrion-lannisters-plan-exposed-and-its-fatal-for-cersei/

Game of Thrones favourite, Tyrion (played by Peter Dinklage), is widely considered to be one of the smartest characters on the HBO show.

Last season saw Tyrion head to see his big sister, Cersei (Lena Headey), with a wight in tow.

He appeared to be trying to convince her to join his current boss Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) and Jon Snow (Kit Harington) in the fight against the Night King (Vladimir Furdik).

At the time, many thought the move was stupid – he was risking the lives of many to try and win impenetrable Cersei over.

However, Reddit user pntslngr has a theory explaining the bold strategy, believing it was actually for the sake of Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau).

They wrote: “Maybe he knew full well it wouldn’t convince Cersei.

“What if the plan all along was to undermine Jaime’s relationship with Cersei.

“He knew Jaime would surely be there to see the wight and knows that Jaime is infinitely more reasonable than Cersei is.”

They continue to suggest winning over his brother would prove a “competent field commander” and would destabilise Cersei.

The theory continues to say he hid it from Daenerys and Jon because they might not see the benefit of him at the moment.

“Remember Jaime helped Varys [Conleth Hill] save Tyrion’s life by freeing him from the Red Keep,” it went on.

The blog post added: “Tyrion might be trying to do the same for Jaime. Tyron also uniquely understands the repercussions of removing Jaime from Cersei’s life.”

Will Tyrion’s big plan work? Or will Jaime forever be doomed to stay with Cersei?

Yesterday, a new poster emerged suggesting what it would look like if Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) were to kill Cersei.

A mocked up picture showed the northern hero holding a knife to the current Iron Throne owner’s throat – but will that prediction come true?

Game of Thrones season 8 news: Arya Stark to kill Cersei Lannister? Game of Thrones fans are hoping to see the end of Cersei (played by Lena Headey) in the upcoming final season of the hit HBO show.

Although details are being kept under tight wraps about what will happen, viewers have taken to creating their own theories.

The latest comes in the form of a new poster which has been mocked up to look like a real one.

The new image, as posted on Game of Thrones Memes’ Facebook page shows Cersei on her knees in what appears to be her living quarters.

She is facing a determined Arya (Maisie Williams), who looks down on her with a steely glare.

What’s more, the warrior is grasping a knife in the picture which suggests she is about to slit Cersei’s throat.

Although the poster is clearly a fake – given the spelling mistake on it – it certainly makes for interesting contemplation.

Arya has been relatively successful with her killing mission after adding her enemies to a list and making her way through them.

Cersei has been relatively high up the list, topped only by The Hound (Rory McCann).

Over half of her enemies have met their gruesome ends so it seems the odds are stacked against Cersei.

Will Arya be the one to kill the Queen or will it be another of her enormous list of enemies?

This comes as Lena has teased a “large” finale as she continues to film the eighth instalment.

She told Press Association recently: “We’re filming till the end of June and it’s all very exciting and very large.”

Lena, 44, added the upcoming series would be “bigger and better than ever”.

As well as this, her body double, played by Rebecca Van Cleave, will be returning to the show, suggesting serious drama is on the way for the current Iron Throne owner.

Game of Thrones returns to Sky Atlantic next year.
