This Morning saw Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford back for the final instalment of the week. As ever, the presenters were joined by a range of guests to discuss various topics. One of this morning’s talking points remained COVID-19 after some famous faces, including Denise Welch, have come out and given their thoughts on the Government’s strategy towards the disease. However, when host Eamonn accused Denise of causing “panic” she continued to stay firm on her stance in a heated discussion. Today’s show saw Denise and This Morning’s resident doctor, Dr Sara Kayat speak out on the pandemic. With the Government now urging Britons to go back to work as life slowly begins to resume to normal, many members of the public have differing feelings on what should happen next. And when Eamonn led a debate between Denise and Dr Sara, the former slammed the media and Government’s response, claiming they were not explaining how things had improved. Denise claimed: “At the moment, people aren’t going in (to hospital), aren’t putting their sick relatives into hospital – it’s criminal.” READ MORE: The Chase’s Shaun Wallace sends fans into frenzy with slip-up Taking aim at the news coverage once more, the Denise continued: “What we have is, ‘Bong, fears rise as spikes reach 1,075 positive tests per day’. “So if you’re going to frighten us with how many were dying every day, please enlighten us and tell us how things have improved, when no one is dying.” Touching on the issue of mental health, she said: “As a mental health person, if people want to say, ‘She’s on about that again,’ I don’t care because of the people it does help – I will do anything to help balance the fear-mongering. “The other day, it said, ‘Universities could become the care homes of the second wave,’ how dare they?” Those watching at home flocked to Twitter to comment on the debate, with many coming out in support of what the star had shared. One said: “Thank you, you are totally right, I work in a care home and we’ve said we will lose more residents from mental health due to lockdown than COVID! Plus I’m a high-risk pregnancy and have to go to appointments on my own, so no support at appointments.” Another shared: “Denise you are smashing it on @thismorning thank you so much.” “I couldn’t agree with what you are saying more. So much scaremongering it’s terrible!” commented a third. However, not everyone agreed with Denise, with one saying: “Please calm down. I know you’re passionate but I can’t listen to shouty people! A Ryanair passenger was left needing surgery when a laptop fell on her head from the overhead locker of a plane. The woman – whose name and age are not known – was disembarking a Ryanair flight from London Stansted to Lisbon, Portugal when the incident took place. It is understood she was removing her hand luggage from the overhead locker of the aircraft. As she did so, a laptop fell out and hit the passenger on the head leaving her with a 2.5cm opening on her scalp.
A member of staff at the scene told Express.co.uk that she was lying in the aisle following the accident.
An ambulance was called to the scene as the woman was reportedly pale and unable to stand up.
The passenger “needed medical attention,” a member of staff said of the injured woman.
Flights in Lisbon were delayed by the incident. On one delayed flight back to London, the pilot – who had been called from standby – referred to the alarming incident when he addressed the passengers.
“We had a passenger who had an accident on board when a laptop fell out and she hurt her head so we spent over an hour on the ground here with paramedics trying to sort that out,” the Ryanair pilot said.
“Do be careful please when you’re putting bags in the overhead bins as sometimes things can become dislodged and fall out as it did today. All I can do is apologise for the delay.”
Express.co.uk has contacted Ryanair for further comment on the incident.
It is the second incident to occur on a Ryanair flight today. Armed police had to storm a flight at Stansted after a fight broke out on the aircraft.
Two passengers were involved in an altercation on the Ryanair flight shortly after the plane took off.
The incident forced the Boeing 737 to turn around and return to Stansted at about 12.45pm.
Other customers then had to board a replacement plane to continue their journey to Portugal.
Police spoke to both passengers following the altercation and one was removed from the flight and reported for a public order offence, according to Essex Police.
In a statement, Ryanair confirmed that the flight had to head back to Stansted due to disruptive passengers.
The statement said: “This flight from London to Lisbon returned to Stansted Airport shortly after take-off after a number of passengers became disruptive inflight.
“The aircraft landed normally and was met by police upon arrival. Customers disembarked and boarded a replacement aircraft which continued to Lisbon shortly afterwards.
“We will not tolerate unruly or disruptive behaviour at any time and the safety and comfort of our customers, crew and aircraft is our number one priority. This is now a matter for local police.”

Two darts stars have kicked up a stink by accusing each other of farting on stage and creating a “rotten” smell during a Grand Slam clash in Wolverhampton, UK.
Scotland’s Gary Anderson and Dutchman Wesley Harms have each blamed the other for being behind the noxious air on stage as they met in the Grand Slam of Darts second round.
Anderson ran out a 10-2 winner, but all the talk after the match was about the odour near the oche.
“It’ll take me two nights to lose this smell from my nose,” Harms told Dutch TV station RTL7L, implying that the stench had been dealt out by the Scot.
When presented with the accusation, Anderson revealed he had also sensed the odor on stage – but said he thought his Dutch rival had been the one with flatulence issues.
“I thought Wesley had farted on stage… you can put your finger up my arse, there’ll be no smell there,” said the no-nonsense Scot.
“I thought he’d s***, and I went, ‘that’s dirty’. It was bad, it was a stink, I thought it was him, then he started to play better and I thought he must have needed to get some wind out.”
Two-time world champion Anderson, 47, was adamant when pressed again about the accusations: “No, hands up. Swear on my kid’s life, so help me god, nothing crossed.
“It was smelly. Usually if I fart on stage I s*** myself. You know that because I’ve told you in a documentary.
“If I’d farted and it smelled like that I’d put my hands up and go, ‘sorry, I need to get off’. It was eggs, rotten eggs…
“Every time he walked past there was a waft of rotten eggs, so that’s why I was thinking it was him.”
Anderson progresses to the quarter-finals with the 10-2 win, but ‘Fartgate’ will no doubt linger on.

Back pain is a very common issue and usually improves within a few weeks or months.
Pain in the lower back, otherwise known as lumbago, is particularly common.
Although lumbago affects the lower back, it can be felt anywhere along the spine, from the neck down to the hips.
In most cases, lumbago is not caused by anything serious and will usually get better over time.
However, the NHS recommends seeing your GP or a physiotherapist if back pain doesn’t start to improve within a few weeks, or if pain is very severe.
In addition, if back pain gets worse over time and gets in the way of completing day-to-day activities, it’s also advisable to see a doctor.
“You can see your GP, who will ask about your symptoms, examine your back, and discuss possible treatments,” said the NHS.
“They may refer you to a specialist doctor or a physiotherapist for further help.”
It’s not always possible to identify the cause of back pain, in which case it is referred to as ‘non-specific’ back pain.
Sometimes, pain in the back may be caused by an injury, such as a strain or sprain, but often occurs for no apparent reason.
“It’s very rarely caused by anything serious,” said the NHS.
Occasionally, back pain can be due to a medical condition, such as a slipped disc or sciatica.
A slipped disc happens when a disc of cartilage in the spine presses on a nearby nerve.
Sciatica is irritation of the nerve that runs from the pelvis to the feet.
These conditions can also cause additional symptoms such as numbness, weakness or a tingling sensation.
In rare cases, back pain could be a sign of something more serious if it comes with certain other symptoms.
These symptoms can include numbness or tingling around the genitals or buttocks, difficulty peeing, loss of bladder or bowel control, chest pain, fever, unexplained weight loss, and a swelling or deformity in the back.
If these symptoms are experienced alongside back pain, the NHS advises contacting your GP immediately.
In addition, if back pain doesn’t improve after resting or is worse at night, or if it started after a serious accident, such as a car accident, it is also advised to see a doctor straight away.
“These problems could be a sign of something more serious and need to be checked urgently,” said the NHS.
Meghan Markle, an LA native and former-actress, became the Duchess of Sussex in May.
Since she has been on a number of official royal excursions with Prince Harry and released a charity cook book.
However, a socialite has claimed that some of Meghan’s views are causing an issue in the royal company she now keeps.
Lady Colin Campbell told The Daily Beast: “Her politics are an issue. She is ultra-liberal and that trendy-lefty stuff does not go down well with some of Harry’s friends.
“He has introduced her to them all at parties and weddings and private dinners, but she is very anti- a lot of the things that their world functions upon, such as shooting.”
Lady Colin Campbell has come under fire before for making claims about the Royal Family.
She published a book about the Queen and Prince Philip’s marriage, which was criticised by former BBC Royal Correspondent Jennie Bond who said: “I don’t see any need to discuss the Queen’s love life and marriage. It’s distasteful, unnecessary and tawdry.”
At the time a Buckingham Palace spokeswoman told Express.co.uk they would not comment on the book.
Meghan is thought to be an animal rights activist.
Gina Nelthorpe-Cowne, who worked as Meghan’s agent for two years from October 2014 to October 2016.
The Independent reported that Gina claimed Meghan refused to promote fur or animal products when she worked with her.
It was reported by the Sun on 23 December 2017 that Prince Harry did not take part in a Boxing Day shoot due to Meghan’s view on hunting.
The paper reported an insider said: “The Boxing Day shoot was always going to be a tricky issue.
“Meghan is a keen animal rights campaigner and doesn’t like hunting in any form.
“Harry loves it and has always been out there on Boxing Day. But if it means breaking with long-standing royal traditions to avoid upsetting her, so be it.”
The paper then reported that Harry also missed this summer’s grouse hunt on 31 August, due to Meghan’s views.
Meghan Markle is a feminist, and worked with the UN as an advocate for gender equality and the empowerment of women.
In a speech at the UN on International Women’s Day 2015 the Duchess of Sussex told attendees: “I am proud to be a woman and a feminist.”
Meghan Markle’s Grenfell cookbook project is her first solo project as a royal.
In snaps released by the Palace of Meghan cooking up a storm, the 37-year-old shows off her “Markle Sparkle” in minimal makeup, jeans and a casual shirt.
The community cookbook is being produced in aid of the victims of Grenfell tower, helping the local community and those affected.
In the stills released by Kensington Palace, Meghan beams and appears to be in her element, working to prepare meals with a group of women in the kitchen.
Taking a break from designer dresses and elaborate hats, the former actress looked at her most relaxed in a casual white shirt and pair of blue jeans.
Meghan Markle was born Rachel Meghan Markle, on August 4, 1981 to parents Doria Ragland and father Thomas Markle.
Her father was previously married to Roslyn Loveless and Meghan has two elder half sibling – sister Samantha Markle and brother Thomas Markle Junior.
Meghan’s first television appearance in the USA was in an episode of the medical drama General Hospital in 2002.
She later moved on to roles in CSI, Without a Trace and Castle along with bit parts in Hollywood films including Get Him to the Greek, Remember Me and Horrible Bosses.
Meghan was also a “briefcase girl” on Deal or No Deal – but her most famous role was as Rachel Zane in legal drama Suits, which launched in 2011.
She was written out in the finale of the seventh series when her character got married, which aired in April 2018 – just before she got married herself.
Meghan Markle’s career in television has gone hand-in-hand with her support for causes close to her heart.
She wrote about the stigma around menstrual health in an article for Time magazine and was a Global Ambassador for World Vision Canada – with whom she travelled to Rwanda for the charity’s Clean Water Campaign.
And her commitment to gender equality has seen her work with the United Nations – receiving a standing ovation in 2015 for her speech to mark International Women’s Day.
In September 2011, she wed film producer Trevor Engelson, who she began dating in 2004.
But the pair divorced two years later in August 2013, citing irreconcilable difference.
She was in a relationship with celebrity chef Cory Vitiello for almost two years, before they broke it off in 2016 but the two remain good friends.
And in June 2016, she met Prince Harry on a blind date set up by a mutual friend.
Their relationship began in October that year and just over one year later, on November 27, 2017, the pair announced their engagement.
They married on May 19, 2018 at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.
Some have claimed Meghan Markle is the first mixed-race member of the Royal Family.
Historians are still arguing about Queen Charlotte, the wife of King George III.
But Meghan will be the first royal to openly embrace a mixed-race heritage.
She has written about the difficulties of being a biracial actress in Hollywood as she claims she is not black enough for some roles and not white enough for others.
