Somehow we doubt Husky, Malamute, or Chinook dogs have anything to worry about, but apparently there are other animals more than happy to schlep a man or woman through the snow. And no, despite the time of the year, we aren’t talking about reindeer. Caught by a woman named Tara and uploaded to Facebook was one man skiing behind an Amish buggy pulled by a lone horse. The caption simply reads #PureMichigan.

This scene took place in Morley, Mich., north of Grand Rapids and west of Saginaw. Tara encountered the bizarre scene on her way home from dinner on Christmas day. As of this writing, the video had racked up 318,000 views and nearly 10,000 shares. Expect that number to continue climbing, as viral videos so often do. Thanks again, Internet!

Mini may have started life as a tiny front-wheel-drive car in 1959, but that doesn’t prevent parent company BMW from altering that basic concept when it comes to racing. And racing is dear to Mini, especially the Dakar rally, which it won four times in a row from 2012 to 2015 and where it placed with three cars within the top 10 in 2017. Next year, Mini will race the John Cooper Works Rally with all-wheel drive—and a new entry, the rear-wheel-drive John Cooper Works Buggy.

Because of regulations that now favor two-wheel-drive racers, Mini decided to complement the well-proven Rally model with the entirely different Buggy. With a carbon-fiber body built atop a steel frame, the design is funky and aggressive, somewhat reminiscent of the 1997 Mini Monte Carlo Rallye Concept. Meanwhile, the Rally model, which sports a body that evokes the current Mini Countryman, features an upgraded chassis with longer spring travel and reduced weight.

Both the Rally and the Buggy racers are powered by the same turbo-diesel 3.0-liter inline-six. It’s rated at 335 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque. The Mini X-Raid team will run three Buggy models, driven by Yazeed Al-Rajhi, Mikko Hirvonen, and Bryce Menzies; the four Rally entrants are piloted by Boris Garafulic, Jakub Przygoński, Joan “Nani” Roma, and Orlando Terranova.

Scoring high at this year’s Dakar rally is particularly meaningful as it is the 40th edition—and the 10th after it moved from Africa to South America due to concerns about security in Africa. The legendary rally begins on January 6, 2018, in Lima, Peru, and will continue through Bolivia to its finish on January 20 in Córdoba, Argentina. It is the world’s most famous and probably most dangerous off-road endurance race, by some accounts having claimed as many as 70 lives since its inception.

Over on Battle.net, Blizzard provided more details, explaining why D.Va has been temporarily disabled. You can read the official statement below:

Following the release of today’s 1.10.1 patch, we’ve seen a significant rise in the number of reported client crashes. Based on our investigation, we’ve determined these crashes are very likely connected to D.Va’s presence within a game.

Due to the impact of this issue, we have temporarily disabled D.Va in all regions on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One as a precaution while we continue to troubleshoot. We don’t have an ETA to share right now for when D.Va will again be playable, but this is currently our top priority and we will be sure to provide updates in this thread as they become available.

Sincere apologies for the inconvenience, and thank you so much for your patience!

Ramzan Kadyrov oversaw the unveiling of four buggies, dubbed the ‘Chaborz M-3,’ at the Chechenavto car assembly plant on Saturday.

The three-seat modification of the light strike vehicle also has space to carry an additional 250kg worth of supplies and equipment. It is designed to be used in special operations, especially in the mountainous regions, such as the Russian Caucasus.

“This vehicle [military buggy ‘Chaborz M-3′] [was designed] to perform the most difficult tasks. If we had such cars, we would have performed special operations in a much more effective way and without losses,” Kadyrov said at the ceremony, drawing on his military past.

“I believe that they [military buggies ‘Chaborz M-3′] will complete our special purpose unit,” the Chechen leader added.

Kadyrov noted that the first prototype buggy came off the conveyors just months after he had ordered the engineers to draft the Chaborz M-3.

Currently, the Chechenavto car assembly plant in Argun produces about 30 vehicles per month. The first batch of the hardware will be delivered to the International Training Centre for Special Forces in Gudermes, just east of the republic’s capital, Grozny.

Each of the vehicles could be equipped with one 7.62 mm machine gun on the side of the passenger seat, in addition to a larger 12.7 mm machine gun mounted on the roof for a 360-degree action.

The buggy is designed according to Russian Defense Ministry military standards and is suitable for special operations.
The vehicle might soon be delivered to Syria.

“They [Chaborz M-3] are now very necessary in Syria, given the mountainous terrain. When the terrorists are hiding in the mountains, getting to them is almost impossible. With these machines you can get close to their hidden routes,” Kadyrov noted.

Chaborz M-3 with its four-wheel drive can also be used across mine-laden terrain where the movement of larger and heavier vehicles is restricted.

“I am sure once [Syrian command] learns about these machines, they will be interested,” Kadyrov said.

The high mobility buggy is almost entirely made from Russian parts, which makes the vehicle a cheaper alternative to foreign versions.

“There is American Polaris and Canadian BMR. Those buggies cost around 2 million rubles ($ 35,000). But their engine power is twice less than our model’s. The Chechen military buggy will cost approximately 1.5 mn rubles ($ 25,000),” Deputy Chief of the National Guard in Chechnya, Daniel Martynov, told the Russian RBK business news outlet.
