Meghan Markle, 36, had made some big changes since becoming the Duchess of Sussex, to her appearance, lifestyle and eating habits.

Along with being banned from eating her favourite seafood on royal tours and garlic when in the company of the Queen, she has also had to give up another of her favourite meals.

According to royal chef Darren McGrady, pasta, rice and potatoes are all banned from the menu at Buckingham Palace.

The carb ban is a personal choice of the Queen’s, who prefers not to put them on the menu.

Pasta is reportedly one of Meghan Markle’s favourite foods, telling food magazine The New Potato in 2013 that a “leisurely dinner of seafood and pasta” was one of her favourite meal options.

Darren revealed the Queen’s no-carb preferences during an interview with Recipe Plus, saying she stays well clear of pasta and has never had rice or potatoes on the palace menu.

One royal that will surely be missing the Italian dish is Meghan, who along with being a self-confessed pasta lover, has also devised her own pasta recipes.

During an interview with Delish.com, Meghan revealed her go-to meal, a pasta dish containing slow-cooked courgette.

The 36-year-old referred to the dish as “filthy, sexy mush”, coining it as one of her favourite recipes.

The dish is made by slow-cooking courgettes for at least four hours, turning them into a delectable mush that passes for an oil and butter-laden dish.

Despite their growing friendship, Meghan won’t be showing the Queen her famous courgette pasta dish anytime soon.

Along with banning pasta, rice, potatoes and garlic, the Queen also has some other strange dietary requirements, according to royal chef Darren.

Speaking to Recipes Plus, he continued: “We also couldn’t serve meat that was rare, as [Queen Elizabeth] liked her meat more well done.”

The chef also revealed the Queen’s go-to snack, a banana.

However Her Majesty eats the banana in a certain way, “she’ll cut off the bottoms and cut the banana lengthwise, and then cut the banana into tiny slices to eat with a fork,” Darren concluded.

On top of dietary restrictions, Meghan will also have to adjust the time she goes to bed to please the Royal Family, according to an expert.

Sir William Heseltine, one of the Queen’s private secretaries, revealed that no one is to go to bed before Her Majesty.

In an interview with the Telegraph he said “nobody felt it right to go to bed before the Queen did” when staying with her.

Hopefully the Queen is not a late night party animal, otherwise Meghan might find herself feeling a little tired.

One royal bride broke the rule on a number of occasions, Prince Harry’s late mother Princess Diana.

Meghan Markle flouts royal 'rule' with Prince Harry and the Queen at Buckingham palace https://briefnews.eu/meghan-markle-flouts-royal-rule-with-prince-harry-and-the-queen-at-buckingham-palace/ https://briefnews.eu/meghan-markle-flouts-royal-rule-with-prince-harry-and-the-queen-at-buckingham-palace/#respond Wed, 27 Jun 2018 07:16:04 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/meghan-markle-flouts-royal-rule-with-prince-harry-and-the-queen-at-buckingham-palace/

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, 33, joined the Queen at Buckingham Palace tonight.

The pair attended the Reception for The Queen’s Young Leaders at the London stately home.

Meghan Markle wore a pink Prada dress for the occasion, and clutched a black handbag from the same brand.

The Queen’s Young Leaders is a programme to “find exceptional young people” from across the Commonwealth.

Prince Harry and Meghan are playing vital roles as youth ambassadors for the Commonwealth.

Meghan Markle sat with the Queen and Prince Harry to take an official portrait at the event.

However, eagle-eyed royal watchers might notice that the Duchess of Sussex appears to be flouting a so-called “royal rule”.

Meghan sits with her legs crossed on the left hand side of her husband.

The crossing of the legs is a seating position rarely adopted by royals.

In fact a special form of sitting without the legs crossed has even been dubbed “the Duchess slant” – named after Kate Middleton.

Meghan’s legs prompted hundreds of comments on the Royal Family’s Facebook page.

One royal fan wrote: “The Duchess of Sussex has her legs crossed wrong. What a disrespect to the Queen. All royal ladies cross at the ankles or put both legs to the side.”

Another person said: “Meghan don’t cross your legs Queen doesn’t like that.”

The “Duchess slant” is a move Kate Middleton has perfected during her time in the Royal Family.

The ladylike way of sitting is practised by many royal women including the Queen herself.

The move is done by sitting with your knees and ankles together and moving your ankles a little out to the side.

Myka Meier, royal etiquette expert and founder and director of Beaumont Etiquette, told People: “Typically the ‘duchess slant’ is used when a lady has to sit for an extended amount of time while keeping poise and posture.

“It is the perfect pose for when a camera is shooting directly in front of you because by slightly slanting the knees to create a zig-zag effect when wearing a dress or skirt, your legs are angled so that the camera only shoots the sides of your legs and protects your modesty.”

Meghan Markle adopted the Duchess slant on her trip to Cheshire with the Queen, but seems to have forgotten to adopt the move in this official picture.

What does an body language expert make of Meghan Markle and the Queen’s relationship?

Judi told Express.co.uk: “It’s touching to see the very confident new royal bride looking sweet and rather nervous here on her first solo outing with the Queen.”

Meghan shows her deference to Her Majesty in the images, Judi claims.

One image shows the former-actress smiling down at the Queen with affection.

Princess Eugenie reveals private part of Queen’s home Buckingham Palace on Instagram post https://briefnews.eu/princess-eugenie-reveals-private-part-of-queens-home-buckingham-palace-on-instagram-post/ https://briefnews.eu/princess-eugenie-reveals-private-part-of-queens-home-buckingham-palace-on-instagram-post/#respond Thu, 14 Jun 2018 16:18:07 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/princess-eugenie-reveals-private-part-of-queens-home-buckingham-palace-on-instagram-post/

Princess Eugenie, 28, is set to marry her partner Jack Brooksbank, 33, in October.

The daughter of Prince Andrew, 58, the Queen’s middle son, will have the wedding in the same location as Prince Harry, 33, and Meghan Markle, 36, St George’s Chapel in Windsor.

Since the announcement of her engagement Eugenie has been taking to her royal role and documenting it on social media.

She recently posted an image of herself at Carnaby Street revealing her new ambassadorship of a sustainability project on Instagram.

Another image posted recently has revealed the inner sanctum of her grandmother’s private London residence inside Buckingham Palace.

The royal, who has a job at an art gallery, posted an image of her father at the Trooping the Colour, this weekend.

The image shows the Duke of York standing proudly in a Buckingham Palace corridor.

Eugenie wrote: “A wonderful and proud day celebrating Her Majesty’s birthday and @hrhthedukeofyork for his first Trooping the Colour as Colonel of the Grenadier Guards. #troopingthecolour”

Twitter users piled in with comments on the photos.

One wrote: “Beautiful picture congratulations Andrew.”

Anther said, “Congrats wonderful accomplishment to the Duke of York” and one more commented, “WoW! What a palace.”

The photo was taken in a part of the palace usually private and reserved just for the royals.

However, this part of the private quarters is just as lavish as those open to the public.

The walls are painted duck egg blue with a red carpet and busts and paintings lining the hallway.

The Duke of York was appointed Colonel of the Grenadier Guards in December 2017.

Andrew took over his father’s role at the head of the regiment, which has existed since 1656.

Prince Andrew served with the Royal Navy for 22 years.

The Trooping the Colour, the official celebration of the QUeen’s birthday, was his first opportunity to fulfil the role publicly.

His former wife Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, was missing from the celebrations.

However, Fergie stepped out last night looking dazzling in a black evening gown at the Royal Albert Hall.

Fleetwood Mac: Lindsey Buckingham breaks silence on being 'fired' from iconic band https://briefnews.eu/fleetwood-mac-lindsey-buckingham-breaks-silence-on-being-fired-from-iconic-band/ https://briefnews.eu/fleetwood-mac-lindsey-buckingham-breaks-silence-on-being-fired-from-iconic-band/#respond Tue, 15 May 2018 15:25:45 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/fleetwood-mac-lindsey-buckingham-breaks-silence-on-being-fired-from-iconic-band/

The band confirmed last month that they will tour with two new members, Mike Campbell of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and Neil Finn of Crowded House.

But Buckingham, who had been in the line-up since 1974, was not involved.

Now, he has confirmed that his exclusion was not his own choice.

Speaking while playing at a campaign fundraiser for Democratic congressional candidate Mick Levin over the weekend, he said – according to Metro: “It’s been an interesting time on a lot of levels.

“For me, personally, probably some of you know that for the last three months I have sadly taken leave of my band of 43 years, Fleetwood Mac.

“This was not something that was really my doing or my choice.”

He added: “I think what you would say is that there were factions within the band that had lost their perspective.

“What that did was to harm – and this is the only thing I’m really sad about, the rest of it becomes an opportunity – it harmed the 43-year legacy that we had worked so hard to build.

“That legacy was really about rising above difficulties in order to fulfil one’s higher truth and one’s higher destiny.”

Mick Fleetwood had recently told Rolling Stone that the group “arrived at the impasse of hitting a brick wall” though he did not confirm that Buckingham was fired.

Buckingham was recruited at the same time as his then girlfriend Steve Nicks, and the group scored huge success with the likes of Rumours in 1977.

That went on to become one of the best-selling albums of all time; shifting 13 million units worldwide.

They released their last studio set Say You Will back in 2003, but have continued to perform together since.

Fleetwood Mac SHOCK: Lindsey Buckingham FIRED and replaced https://briefnews.eu/fleetwood-mac-shock-lindsey-buckingham-fired-and-replaced/ https://briefnews.eu/fleetwood-mac-shock-lindsey-buckingham-fired-and-replaced/#respond Mon, 09 Apr 2018 22:37:42 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/fleetwood-mac-shock-lindsey-buckingham-fired-and-replaced/

Formed in 1967, Fleetwood Mac has sold more than 100 million records worldwide.

Over the years they’ve seen members come and go and now have fired their lead guitarist Buckingham.

The 68-year-old rocker first joined the band in 1974 before leaving in 1987.

However he rejoined in 1996 but has now been replaced.

As to why Buckingham has been kicked out, have confirmed it was due to a disagreement over Fleetwood Mac’s upcoming tour.

Today the band announced that Mike Campbell of Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers and Neil Finn of Crowded House will take his place.

In a statement Fleetwood Mac said: “We are thrilled to welcome the musical talents of the caliber of Mike Campbell and Neil Finn into the Mac family.

“With Mike and Neil, we’ll be performing all the hits that the fans love, plus we’ll be surprising our audiences with some tracks from our historic catalogue of songs.”

They added: “Fleetwood Mac has always been a creative evolution. We look forward to honouring that spirit on this upcoming tour”

Co-founder Mick Fleetwood said: “Fleetwood Mac has always been about an amazing collection of songs that are performed with a unique blend of talents.

“We jammed with Mike and Neil and the chemistry really worked and let the band realise that this is the right combination to go forward with in Fleetwood Mac style.

“We know we have something new, yet it’s got the unmistakable Mac sound.”

She said: “I don’t know if I would have written Songbird had I not had a couple of toots of cocaine and a half bottle of champagne and I just couldn’t sleep.

“Or written any of the songs that were on that album because, I mean, I think we were all pretty loaded.”

This is the Queen’s ideal three-course lunch, as chosen by Buckingham Palace https://briefnews.eu/this-is-the-queens-ideal-three-course-lunch-as-chosen-by-buckingham-palace/ https://briefnews.eu/this-is-the-queens-ideal-three-course-lunch-as-chosen-by-buckingham-palace/#respond Thu, 07 Dec 2017 07:26:41 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/this-is-the-queens-ideal-three-course-lunch-as-chosen-by-buckingham-palace/ Queen Elizabeth II visits HullGetty Images

  • The Queen gets fine dining almost any day she wants — but what does she like?
  • Business Insider got the answer from the man making her lunch on Thursday.
  • The menu includes salmon, lamb and orange tart, and was approved by the palace.
  • The Queen will take lunch on board HMS Queen Elizabeth during a naval ceremony.

Queen Elizabeth II gets to go to a lot of banquets, state dinners, and other grand occasions where fine dining is de rigueur.

The tastes of the world’s longest-serving head of state are the subject of extensive speculation — so we found out the truth behind what she favours from the man who will prepare her lunch today.

Business Insider was invited on board HMS Queen Elizabeth, the Royal Navy’s newest aircraft carrier, ahead of a royal visit taking place on Thursday at the naval base in Portsmouth, southern England.

On board we spoke to Petty Officer Dean Allen, who works as a chef on board and will be in charge of preparing the meal for the monarch when she visits.

Allen told us that his team submitted several menu ideas ahead of the event, then sent them to officials at Buckingham Palace who made the final call on what should be served.

The lunch, which is for the Queen and 31 other dignitaries, is part of a ceremony in which Her Majesty will formally accept HMS Queen Elizabeth as part of the Royal Navy, a process called “commissioning.”

The ceremony will see the Queen visit the ship, inspect a naval guard of honour, and celebrate the beginning of the ship’s naval career along with her crew and their families.

Kate Middleton rewears Princes Diana’s favourite tiara at Buckingham Palace https://briefnews.eu/kate-middleton-rewears-princes-dianas-favourite-tiara-at-buckingham-palace/ https://briefnews.eu/kate-middleton-rewears-princes-dianas-favourite-tiara-at-buckingham-palace/#respond Tue, 05 Dec 2017 23:08:42 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/kate-middleton-rewears-princes-dianas-favourite-tiara-at-buckingham-palace/

Kate Middleton, 35, wore her late mother-in-law’s favourite tiara to the Diplomatic Reception at Buckingham Palace.

The Cambridge Lover’s Knot tiara is encrusted with diamonds and pearls – and was given to Princess Diana by the Queen.

The tiara was a wedding present to a young Diana on her wedding day to Prince Charles in 1981.

Kate also wore the tiara in December last year for the annual Diplomatic Reception.

This time she matched the extravagant headgear with a stunning red dress.

The Duchess of Cambridge is currently pregnant with her third child with Prince William, 35.

She was joined at the event tonight by Camilla Parker-Bowles, who wore a large tiara. She accessorised with dangling earrings and pearl necklace.

What is the Cambridge Lover’s Knot tiara?

The tiara was created by Garrad Jewellers in 1914 for Queen Mary. She left the tiara to the Queen in her will – and the Queen has worn the piece often.

Princess Diana first wore the stunning piece in the Houses of Parliament and kept it in her possession until her death in 1997.

Diana claimed the large piece was such heave that it gave her a headache, but that didn’t stop her wearing the beautiful headpiece.

Kate Middleton is a fan of wearing jewellery that once belonged to Princess Diana, as her stunning engagement ring featuring a sapphire was once Diana’s.

Meghan Markle, Prince Harry’s fiancee, has recently also received some jewels that belonged to Princess Diana in her engagement ring.

The ring has three diamonds set in a gold band, but how much is Meghan Markle’s engagement ring worth?

Sophie Lomax of 77Diamonds.com said: “Prince Harry has chosen a trilogy ring. He is said to have designed the ring and incorporated some of his mother Princess Diana’s diamonds in it, making it a jewel of inestimable value.”

Cheaper versions are already available on the British high street. Argos has a version for £33, while QVC is selling a version for only £22.50.

Camilla Parker Bowles, on the other hand, wore the Greville Tiara tonight – an enormous art deco piece.

The tiara was made by Boucheron in 1921 for the high society lady Mrs Greville, who left her jewels to the Queen Mother when she died.

The Queen Mother was a huge fan of the gift and, in her later years, it was one of only two tiaras she chose to wear publically.

Camilla is a big fan of the piece and has worn it often, often with other large pieces of jewellery – as she demonstrates tonight.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could attend event together at Buckingham Palace this week https://briefnews.eu/prince-harry-and-meghan-markle-could-attend-event-together-at-buckingham-palace-this-week/ https://briefnews.eu/prince-harry-and-meghan-markle-could-attend-event-together-at-buckingham-palace-this-week/#respond Sun, 08 Oct 2017 12:35:11 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/prince-harry-and-meghan-markle-could-attend-event-together-at-buckingham-palace-this-week/

Prince Harry launched mental health charity Heads Together with his brother Prince William last May.

And this week is World Mental Health day, so the duo will be hosting an event in London as well as attending a reception at Buckingham Palace, according to the Daily Star.

Prince William and Prince Harry announced a £2million investment fund to help   improve the nation’s mental health through technology yesterday, a reflection of how dedicated they are to raising awareness and their charity.

Meghan and Harry have already made their first official public appearance at the Invictus Games in Toronto.

So it would be the perfect way for the couple to show their increasing seriousness for each other if they made another appearance in the UK.

Attending an event with Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge would also lessen the pressure on the happy couple.

Prince Harry has a busy week ahead of him, as he is presenting awards to organisations who have supported members of the Armed Forces on Monday.

He will then attend a reception and gala dinner in aid of WellChild on Wednesday.

His week will end by collecting a posthumous Attitude Legacy Award on behalf of his mother Diana, Princess of Wales on Thursday.

If Meghan does join him at on Tuesday or at any of his other appointments this week, it will further intensify speculation the couple are soon to announce an engagement.

Rumours continued to swirl this week after an insider revealed the Suits actress is considering giving up her biggest role to date so that she can move to be with Harry.

Thanks to his royal duties, Prince Harry has to stay in the UK, so Meghan would have to quit her role in the law drama for their relationship to move to the next level.

Speaking to The Sun, the source said: “Meghan loved playing Rachel and feels she owes so much to Suits.

“But Harry can’t move to Toronto, so she’ll have to move eventually if they want to be together.

“Her decision to give up the biggest role of her career would mean a lot.”

The couple currently conduct their relationship long-distance, and have travelled to exotic locations around the globe, such as Jamaica and Botswana to spend time together.
