Princess Eugenie of York is marrying so-called “commoner” Jack Brooksbank on October 12 at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle.

The occasion will be the second royal wedding in the UK this year, following the marriage of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry, 34, and Meghan Markle, 37, at the same venue earlier this year.

Queen Elizabeth II, 92, and her husband Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, 97, are grandparents-of-eight.

And, the head of state has shown a habit of bestowing some very generous gifts to her grandchildren following their nuptials.

Back in May this year, the Queen famously gifted her grandson Prince Harry, and his new wife Meghan, a house in celebration of their new life together.

The pair were given York Cottage – a property in the grounds of the English country house, Sandringham House.

Following the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton back in 2011, the Queen unveiled a very impressive wedding gift to the happy couple.

The head of the Commonwealth bestowed the Georgian country house Anmer Hall, which is part of the Sandringham estate in Norfolk.

The couple spent the first few years of their marriage based at the residence, while Prince William worked as a pilot for the East Anglian Air Ambulance.

Prince George, now five, spent some of his early years living in the rural home, with the youngster going to the nearby Westacre Montessori School in Norfolk.

Kate and Prince William, who is second in line to the throne, later moved to London’s Kensington Palace.

The Queen previously gave her eldest son, Prince Charles, 69, Birkhall on the Balmoral estate.

She also donated Sunninghill Park in Berkshire to Princess Eugenie’s father, Prince Andrew, 58.

So, will the Queen give Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank their own house?

It is currently not know whether the Queen will bestow a wedding gift in the form of a house to the newlyweds.

While the ifs and wheres are to be confirmed, some royal experts have shared their predictions about the possible wedding gift.

Speaking to MarieClaire.com, Jamie Samhan, deputy editor at Royal Central, explained Princess Eugenie may not be likely to be granted a house from the Queen.

This is due to the princess not officially being a working royal, unlike her cousins Prince William and Prince Harry.

“They are and will be, full-time working royals for the rest of their lives,” she said of the two brothers.

“One of the perks of this is Her Majesty can justify the lavish properties she has gifted them in return for their duty to the crown.”

However, the journalist went on to suggest The Sovereign may gift a smaller property to the happy two.

Royal commentator, Eloise Parker, agreed, telling MarieClaire.com that “it’s unlikely to be as extravagant” as the gifts given to the Dukes.

Princess Eugenie announced her engagement to Jack Brooksbank, a drinks entrepreneur, earlier this year in January.

The pair have been dating for seven years after first meeting in Verbier, a Swiss ski resort frequented by the royals.

Buckingham Palace posted an official announcement to spread the news of the royal engagement.

It read: “The Duke and Duchess of York are delighted to announce the engagement of Princess Eugenie to Mr. Jack Brooksbank.

Wedding date

The wedding will take place on Friday 12 October 2018. It is believed this date was chosen so as not to clash with other royal engagements.

A source told the Daily Mail in January: “Eugenie and Jack are keen to tie the knot quite quickly, and there certainly wouldn’t be any issue as regards the booking of the chapel given who her grandmother [Queen Elizabeth II] is.

”But the issue is that some members of the Royal Family already have commitments in the diary.”

“There is talk of a number of foreign tours for Prince Harry and Miss Markle this year, and September is a date that has been mooted.

There is nothing concrete yet, but it looks as if Eugenie and Jack will go for October instead.”

Wedding venue

The wedding will take place at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle. This is the same venue where Meghan Markle, 37, and Prince Harry, 33, had their royal wedding on 19 May this year.

Wedding party

It is known Princess Eugenie’s older sister, Princess Beatrice, 30, will be maid of honour at the wedding.

The bridesmaids and page boys have not yet been officially announced.

However, it is expected Prince George, 5, and Princess Charlotte, 3, will be included.

What’s more, various publications including the Daily Mail have reported Theodora Rose Williams, 5, the daughter of Robbie Williams, will be a bridesmaid.

Wedding guests

St. George’s Chapel is believed to have a capacity of 800 people. Meghan and Harry opted to have 600 guests.

Senior members of the royal family including Queen Elizabeth II, 92, and Prince Philip, 97, will be in attendance because they are Princess Eugenie’s grandparents.

Prince William, 36, Kate Middleton, 36, Meghan Markle, 37, and Prince Harry, 33 will also be present.

Eugenie and Jack recently moved into a home next to Meghan and Harry. The couple has moved into Ivy Cottage, one of the private, standalone cottages on the Kensington Palace estate.

While the name conjures images of a small residence, it is actually a large three-bedroom home, but is one of the smallest residences on the estate.

Compared to Meghan and Harry’s Nottingham Cottage, for example, it is almost twice as big.

Judi said: “(Jack’s) amiability signals look rather similar to Captain Mark Philips’s when he married into the royal family but unlike Mark it could be that Jack is given an royal induction, being welcomed by a much more empathetic and less intimidating generation of younger royals.

“Jack stood square to the interviewer with his arms rather self-consciously straight to his sides and the biggest PDA of this interview was the joined hands with meshed fingers that showed mutual levels of love and reassurance.”

On her feet she wore a pair of nude stiletto heels with a thin ankle strap which buckled at the side.

Her accessories, however, told a different story altogether to her demure look.

The daring sunglasses looked like a pair of 3D cinema goggles, adding a space age touch to the traditional look.

Eugenie also held a clashing multi-coloured boxy clutch in one hand. It was embellished with flowers in different colours of red, pink, blue and green.

Princess Eugenie later took off her white blazer in the heat to reveal toned arms.

Earlier this week, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice were given the same honour Kate Middleton and Princess Diana once had.

The sisters will follow in the footsteps of Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, and the late Princess Diana, who both featured in the magazine before.

Kate featured on the front cover of the publication for its centenary issue in 2016.

Princess Diana, meanwhile, starred on the front cover in 1991.

However, there is a crucial difference as the princesses will not feature on the front cover of the magazine.

It was believed Jack might be granted the title Earl of Northallerton – which is currently vacant – upon marrying Eugenie.

The aristocrat took to Instagram with a thoughtful message about the couple. Sarah wrote: “A total embrace of goodness and joy.

“We love Jack and I am so excited to have a son, a brother and best friend.

“Eugenie is one of the finest people I know and so together it will be pure harmony.”

Jack, who met Eugenie’s cousin Prince Harry working at a Chelsea pub, seems to have a friendly relationship with his soon-to-be mother-in-law.

The couple were captured on video hugging one another before the Royal Wedding of Harry and Meghan Markle, 36.

Sarah, who walked in front of photographers into the church alone, was met by her daughter’s fiance Jack at the entrance.

The Duchess didn’t sit with her daughters, ex-husband or soon-to-be son-in-law at the event, and was allegedly snubbed at the reception which was organised by Prince Charles. An insider told Mail Online: “He just can’t see why she is still such a big part of his brother’s life.”

Her relationship with her daughter’s fiance is much more comfortable that that with Prince Charles, however.

Jack and Eugenie have been together for eight years, and met in Verbier, Switzerland – coincidentally where the Duchess of York lives.

Royal fans knew the relationship was serious after the tequila ambassador had been introduced to the Duchess, and the pair were pictured having fun together with Eugenie and Beatrice at Royal Ascot in 2017.

The group smiled and laughed as they stood with their arms around one another at the race course.

With just four months until the next royal wedding, where Sarah will take centre stage much more, it would seem the Duchess is making sure her relationship with her daughters and the people they love is stronger than ever.

The society queen was pictured out this week keeping up appearances as she enjoyed a night on the tiles in the capital.
