Boxer Amir Khan has taken a somewhat bizarre route on his latest barrage of insults to fellow Brit Kell Brook, telling the Sheffield native to open up about rumors of him being gay.

It seems inevitable that Khan and Brook will meet inside the squared circle before long, and in advance of the match-up between the two domestic rivals, Olympic silver medalist Khan has opened up by throwing insults before they throw down in the ring.

In an interview with English tabloid The Sun, Khan brought up allegations regarding Brook’s sexuality in a presumed attempt to get a verbal one-up on his rival ahead of a potential fight next year.

“There’s talks about [Brook] being gay,” Khan said. “I mean, if you are a real man, come out and say ‘yeah, you know, I’m gay’ and it is what it is. Come out and tell the truth. Speak out about it. Don’t be afraid.”

“If he is a confident man he needs to come out and tell the world who he really is, because people wanna know about him. People wanna know who is this Kell Brook,” he added.

Doubling down on the claims, Khan said that he suspected that a knife attack suffered by Brook four years ago was related to his sexuality.

Brook was attacked in Tenerife four years ago by man wielding a machete and was left requiring 32 metal staples in a significant wound on his thigh.

“Tell us what happened when you got stabbed,” he said. “I mean, was it because tried it on with some poor guy? He tried to get it on with some poor guy. I mean these are things that have been told from his own camp.

“I mean I wasn’t there to see it but I’ve been told and he’s living a crazy life. So maybe that’s why he’s dying for this fight against me, because he knows he needs that quick payday. Let’s see,” Khan said.

According to The Sun, Brook declined a riposte to Khan’s comments preferring instead to punish his opponent in the ring, he said.

Brook holds a record of 38-2 and has rebounded with two wins in his last two fights after successive defeats to Gennady Golovkin and Errol Spence Jr. Meanwhile, Khan owns a 33-4 record but hasn’t been defeated since a May 2016 reverse to Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez.

In January of this year Khan and Brook came face to face in the ring after Khan’s first-round win against Phil Lo Greco in Liverpool. Brook, who was part of the fight’s commentary team, entered the ring after the fight and squared off with Khan, who promised to “fight and beat” his rival.

Royal Ascot day five saw members of high society step out in their finest clothes.

The racing event is the best known in the UK, and attracts thousands from all over the UK and beyond.

Today saw a whole host of glamorous women step out, including Kelly Brook and Helen Mirren.

Victoria Pendleton was also seen looking gorgeous on the Berkshire racecourse.

Actress Helen Mirren opted for a floral pink and black outfit.

She wore a matching pink hat with a floral mesh design which flattered her English rose complexion.

Her dress had a pussy bow blouse on the front which added softness to the look.

The three quarter length sleeves and midi length skirt gave a flattering silhouette.

She paired the look with a pair of elegant pink pumps with a thin strap.

Finally, Helen’s makeup was subtle with a pinky red lip and a pale pink blush.

Kelly opted for a bright magenta hat which helped her stand out from the crowds.

Her hat, like Helen’s, had a mesh veil on the front which fell over her face.

It also had a bright cluster of flowers which rested on the side of her head.

Kelly’s long sleeved white dress hugged her curvy figure and highlighted her chest.

She also added ark red shoes and a bag which matched her colour scheme.

Victoria Pendleton’s outfit also stood out from the crowd.

The athlete wore a bright orange mesh dress which was sleeveless.

The bright colour flattered her tanned complexion and blue eyes.

She toned it down with a beige bag studded with flower gems.

She also wore a nude fascinator style hat and a pair of nude court shoes.

Anthony Joshua vs Joseph Parker: Kell Brook predicts KNOCKOUT in THIS round https://briefnews.eu/anthony-joshua-vs-joseph-parker-kell-brook-predicts-knockout-in-this-round/ https://briefnews.eu/anthony-joshua-vs-joseph-parker-kell-brook-predicts-knockout-in-this-round/#respond Fri, 30 Mar 2018 20:57:53 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/anthony-joshua-vs-joseph-parker-kell-brook-predicts-knockout-in-this-round/

Anthony Joshua and Joseph Parker both put their unbeaten records on the line when they touch gloves at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff tomorrow night.

Parker, 26, is putting his WBO belt up for grabs while Joshua, 28, is defending his WBA and IBF titles in a winner-takes-all fight.

With barely anything separating the pair – aside from the extra 6lbs on Joshua’s side at the weigh in today – many fans reckon the fight could go the distance.

But Brook, who saw off Sergey Rebchenko inside two rounds with a knockout of his own earlier this month, reckons Joshua has the potential to put Parker on the canvas late on.

ANTHONY JOSHUA VS JOSEPH PARKER LIVE STREAM

“I’m not completely writing Parker off, he’s got the movement, he’s a champion himself, he’s got to keep that respect,” he told the Daily Star.

“He’s a heavyweight, but he can move around the ring fast.

“But I still think AJ is a big man, he’s strong, he’s all-round got the edge for me.

“I don’t see it plain sailing for AJ, I think it’ll be a very interesting fight.

“It’s just going to be a matter of time before AJ catches up with him.

“I think Parker has done his homework, looked at AJ. There are still question marks there but he is very good at being hard to beat.

“But Parker is a great champion himself, and I think it’s going to be interesting, especially the first half of the fight.

“I can see a points victory, but I’m leaning more towards a late knock-out for AJ. Rounds 10-12, probably.”

Kell Brook suffers nasty eye injury as he relinquishes IBF title to Errol Spence Jr https://briefnews.eu/kell-brook-suffers-nasty-eye-injury-as-he-relinquishes-ibf-title-to-errol-spence-jr/ https://briefnews.eu/kell-brook-suffers-nasty-eye-injury-as-he-relinquishes-ibf-title-to-errol-spence-jr/#respond Sun, 28 May 2017 03:01:34 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/kell-brook-suffers-nasty-eye-injury-as-he-relinquishes-ibf-title-to-errol-spence-jr/

Kell Brook suffered a nasty cut to his eye during his injury

Sheffield star Brook was playing his part in the cracking contest before he suffered a horrible swelling around his left eye that paved the way for Spence to take the stoppage.

And the classy American was not going to pass up on the opportunity as Brook took a knee in the 11th before referee Howard Foster waved it off with the defeated champion blinking in pain.

Brook did not argue, he knew it was over as he conceded defeat.

‘Special K’ admitted he could not see out of the left eye by the end and it was the right decision for the bout to be stopped even if the home crowd were left disappointed.

Brook this time had his left eye smashed up after middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin shattered his right orbital socket in his last outing.

The fans were upset to see their man lose but also to be denied seeing a 12-round finish to a pulsating fight.

Spence came to the UK with a lot of hype behind him and proved he could go on to be a great in this sport with a mature performance in his 18th outing of a so far unblemished career.

Brook has now lost twice in his 38-fight career but there was no shame here even though his dream night at Bramall Lane turned into a nightmare.

Errol Spence JrREUTERS

Errol Spence Jr celebrates his title win

Bramall Lane, the famous old home of Sheffield United, played host to boxing for the first time since 1984.

That night it was local favourite Herol Graham, one of Britain’s best to never win a world title, in action but this night was all about their current favourite.

Brook bounced on his toes to the ring built on the centre circle of the pitch where his beloved Blades play with his tune ‘All of the Lights’ sending the 27,000-strong crowd wild in a raucous atmosphere.

He used to be bounced up in the air by his uncle Johnny on the Kop stand whenever United scored.

Back then he was only six and Johnny Brook predicted then that his nephew would one day fight here.

It was the latest in a long line of predictions made by the uncle and another one was that Brook would come out of this as the winner, but unfortunately mystic Johnny would not get this one right.

Brook was up against it in his hardest fight at welterweight and coming off his first career defeat to Golovkin last September in a middleweight clash.

Spence is being built in America as the heir to Floyd Mayweather Jnr’s throne as boxing king on that side of the Atlantic and showed the potential he has here.

Kell Brook went down bravely

He had received a little less of a pleasant welcome when he walked out before Brook as the challenger with chants of “who are ya?” from the proud Yorkshire crowd.

Brook, in the candy stripe colours of his favourite football team, had been charged up on his ring walk but was patient when the first bell rang.

The pair initially stood off looking to counter or feint the other into throwing first.

When they did exchange, it was high-quality action from two highly-skilled fighters.

Spence’s southpaw jab was proving difficult to get past for Brook but, when he did in the second, he went to the body and found a way through for a right hand to the head.

It got the crowd going but only brought a smirk from Spence who retaliated with a slick combination of his own in another tight round.

Spence upped the pace at the start of the third and hurt a flustered Brook with a sharp right hook.

Brook allowed Spence to then rattle in a right hand followed up a left hook as he dropped his guard going in.

The defending champion tried to salvage the round by forcing Spence back on the ropes but he couldn’t land cleanly without being countered.

The fourth started fast with both landing their back hands before Spence sunk in a couple of body shots.

Brook responded with a right uppercut in a tit-for-tat three minutes.

Many pundits were struggling to pick a winner before this and it was proving to be the tight affair everyone expected.

Brook landed a fast right-hand counter close to the end of the fifth but there was time for Spence to retaliate with a southpaw jab and left before the bell.

The sixth round was thrilling and started with Brook catching Spence off balance which sent him into the ropes.

Spence responded with a pin-point left hand before Brook sunk a right into the American towards the end of the round.

The challenger was not wilting in his first fight in England since he lost his London 2012 quarter-final and left the country without an Olympic medal as an amateur.

Brook’s left eye appeared to start to swell in the eighth, but the man himself said afterwards he felt it go in the seventh.

Spence was lashing in the body shots too and towards the end of the ninth the American started piling on the pressure with powerful combinations.

Brook started to look in trouble before the bell and the swelling over his eye was becoming more of a concern.

The home crowd roared their man on at the start of the tenth but Brook was down after a series of heavy shots.

The referee circled as Spence smashed Brook around with superb lefts.

Somehow Brook managed to survive even with the swelling seriously hurting his vision.

Brook started the eleventh brightly but it was only brief as Spence’s shots finally forced the finish and the Sheffield man to concede defeat.

Brook was blinking as he appeared in pain and took a knee to avoid more punishment before Foster took him out of his misery by waving it off.

IBF welterweight world champion Kell Brook is looking to defend his title in front of his hometown supporters at Bramall Lane tonight.

The Brit will take on American Errol Spence Jr – who has a record of 21 wins from 21 contests.

Brook, 31, fought two divisions higher than his US opponent when he suffered a broken eye socket in defeat by Gennady Golovkin last time out.

“I think there will be a lot of drama,” Brook told the BBC.

“We could both maybe hit the canvas.”

Meanwhile, promoter Eddie Hearn told Sky News that Kell Brook specified the venue, which has not hosted boxing since 1984.

“We had the opportunity to have this fight in London, in America, but he wanted it at Bramall Lane in front of his people,” he said.

“We know how tough this fight is. The bookies have made Errol Spence the favourite and that is huge for an American fighter travelling to someone’s back yard.

“That’s because he’s a very good fighter. He’s been seen as the new Floyd Mayweather in the division.

“I believe Kell is the best welterweight in the world and tonight we’re going to find out who is the best. It’s a great fight for fans all around the world because it’s the best against the best.”

There are a number of ways to follow the fight tonight, so if you’re away from a television and want to keep track of the score, here is Express.co.uk’s guide to make sure you don’t miss a minute.

Kell Brook v Errol Spence Jr undercard LIVE: All the action as Dave Allen gets in the ring https://briefnews.eu/kell-brook-v-errol-spence-jr-undercard-live-all-the-action-as-dave-allen-gets-in-the-ring/ https://briefnews.eu/kell-brook-v-errol-spence-jr-undercard-live-all-the-action-as-dave-allen-gets-in-the-ring/#respond Sat, 27 May 2017 19:03:54 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/kell-brook-v-errol-spence-jr-undercard-live-all-the-action-as-dave-allen-gets-in-the-ring/ Sheffield – are you ready?

Earlier this week, Tony Bellew said that Sheffield needed a new sporting hero and he believes Kell Brook is ready to be that hero.

He has already twice fought in Sheffield as world champion but this, at the home of his beloved Sheffield United, is bound to be special.

Victory is no certainty though. Plenty of people who know in boxing think Errol Spence Jr could be quite special and he is still unbeaten after 21 fights. Brook will have to work hard for this one.

There is also a tasty undercard including George Groves going for his first world title at the fourth attempt and Dave Allen, he of the pants antics yesterday, fighting for a Commonwealth heavyweight title – his biggest contest to date.

We’ll be here all night with updates from our man on the ground Chris McKenna who is on the Costa del Sheffield in the sun.

Kelly Brook tells host Jason Manford to look at her 'trimmed bush' on The Nightly Show https://briefnews.eu/kelly-brook-tells-host-jason-manford-to-look-at-her-trimmed-bush-on-the-nightly-show/ https://briefnews.eu/kelly-brook-tells-host-jason-manford-to-look-at-her-trimmed-bush-on-the-nightly-show/#respond Wed, 12 Apr 2017 03:17:16 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/kelly-brook-tells-host-jason-manford-to-look-at-her-trimmed-bush-on-the-nightly-show/

The buxom beauty was a guest on the ITV show that is being presented this week by the comedian.

And as she spoke about her passion for gardening, the conversation soon turned rather cheeky.

The 37-year-old – who lives in the countryside in Kent – revealed she has been building a garden for the past ten years and boasted she is going to be showing it at the Chelsea Flower show.

Cleary amused by the conversation, Jason said: “I love how random this show is, we’re talking about Kelly Brook’s garden!”

“We’re talking about my lady garden!” Kelly laughed.

Jason quickly responded: “I never said that!

He added: ”Let’s take a look at Kelly’s garden – it sounds weird whenever I say it now.”

“Let’s look at my neatly trimmed bushes,” quipped Kelly.

The television presenter then went on to share a story about one of her gardeners, who was in to dominatrix.

She said: “Every time I asked him to do something, I thought he was getting off on it.”

Viewers certainly enjoyed the interview and flocked to Twitter to praise Kelly’s appearance.

“Kelly, you have a big garden! Must take a lot of work to keep it up to standard. No wonder you need gardeners! Looking fabulous, by the way,” wrote one viewer

Another added: “OMG!!! @IAMKELLYBROOK is off the scale awesome, the lady can do no wrong in my eyes, best #NightlyShow EP EVER, fact.”

“Wow @IAMKELLYBROOK looking every inch the Hollywood star tonight on #thenightlyshow,” praised one fan.

The Nightly Show continues tonight on ITV at 10pm.

Kelly Brook reveals she won’t be presenting on Lorraine again after being ‘criticised’ https://briefnews.eu/kelly-brook-reveals-she-wont-be-presenting-on-lorraine-again-after-being-criticised/ https://briefnews.eu/kelly-brook-reveals-she-wont-be-presenting-on-lorraine-again-after-being-criticised/#respond Wed, 01 Mar 2017 04:38:25 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/kelly-brook-reveals-she-wont-be-presenting-on-lorraine-again-after-being-criticised/

The model and actress appeared as Lorraine Kelly’s guest fashion editor on the ITV daytime show last month but she has now admitted she won’t be making a return.

After many viewers criticised the TV presenter for being “too loud” and “hyper”, the 37-year claimed TV bosses invited her back on but she declined.

Speaking to OK! Magazine, Kelly reflected on her experience: “I think I’m a bit too much for people. I was criticised for being too energetic and loud! I was like, ‘Maybe I shouldn’t come back?!’

“They wanted me to, but I told them I thought they should get someone else. I don’t think I’m cut out for morning TV.

“Lorraine introduced me as ‘the most enthusiastic woman in the world’, and I thought, well I’m not really – I’m just trying to make the best of the clothes you’ve given me!”

Kelly has made many TV appearances including a stint on Celebrity Juice and earlier this year she served as team caption on the Channel 5 panel show It’s Not Me, It’s You.

But the gorgeous brunette has revealed she’s “not trying to be a presenter” or work “on telly in the UK every day”.

She continued: “If it’s something that’s a bit challenging or fun, then I’ll do it. But it was a three-minute segment on a morning show. I just didn’t like all the attention that came with it.

The busty star admitted her time on the show was a “bit pointless” and confessed she didn’t want to continue with it as she found it “silly”.

“I don’t mind the attention if I’m doing something that’s a big deal, but I didn’t think it was – talking about a few dresses on a morning show. I left and said ‘I don’t really want to do this, it’s a bit silly’,” she added.

The Piranha 3D actress recently flaunted her hourglass figure in all its glory as she shared a snap of herself in the bathtub whilst enjoying a romantic break in New York City with her boyfriend Jeremy Parisi.

Kelly has kept her fans updated with her American travels and has shared a number of envy-inducing snaps on her Instagram page.

[Spoilers]

Chapter 853 of immensely popular Japanese manga One Piece is packed with several confrontations between powerful clans. However, will the Straw Hats pirates escape from Whole Cake Island or choose to battle Big Mom’s Chess Barbarian Army?

[Warning: One Piece manga Chapter 852 spoilers and Chapter 853 speculations ahead]

One Piece manga is racing towards multiple intense battles between various factions that have assembled on the Whole Cake Chateau. Chapter 852 of One Piece confirmed what fans of Luffy D. Monkey and his gang of Straw Hats pirates had been impatiently waiting for. Right when Luffy needed him the most, Sharkman Jinbei made a dramatic and explosive entry in Big Mom’s “Prisoner’s Library” and busted out Luffy and Nami. Apart from the duo, Jinbei managed to rescue all the exotic animals and creatures that the library held.

The second captain of the Sun Pirates chose to rebel against Big Mom by freeing Luffy. In her current state of euphoria, the Yonko could have forgiven Jinbei for his act of defiance. However, Jinbei destroyed the entire library just to rescue his friends. Charlotte Linlin would certainly not take the insolent behavior kindly. It is likely that Big Mom will train her guns on Jinbei, but she is currently engaged with Brook.

[Image by Eiichiro Oda/One Piece Manga/Shueisha]

In the previous chapter, Brook was seen bravely facing the Yonko alone. The skeletal member of Straw Hats does know how to overpower Big Mom’s Chess Barbarian Army. However, it is unclear how he will face or defeat the Yonko. Although Brook can ensure the army cannot approach or apprehend him, Big Mom could prove too much for poor Brook. Meanwhile, Pedro was seen facing his nemesis, Baron Tamago in one of the courtyards. The Jaguar Mink has a formidable enemy and has a significantly diminished lifespan. Hence Pedro might not survive his battle either. Incidentally, both the members have made it amply clear that they would help Luffy secure the Road Poneglyphs lying in Big Mom’s Treasure Room, and have jointly decided the quest is of utmost importance.

Interestingly, the duo could be saved by Carrot and Chopper. In the previous chapter, the duo, trapped in Brulee’s Magic Mirror World, had finally figured out how to manipulate the mirrors to extract information about the whereabouts of people. But they have still to decipher how to enter and exit the Mirror World. Although the duo currently has no clue where their fellow Straw Hats members are, Carrot’s expert drawing skills could come in handy in locating and rescuing not just Brook and Pedro, but also Luffy and Nami.

Incidentally, the most interesting aspect of the previous chapter was the remarkably calm and composed Sanji. Despite being heartbroken and devastated after learning the true nature and evil intentions of his soon-to-be bride, Lady Pudding, the chef managed to restrain himself. Instead of bursting into Lady Pudding’s chamber while the Big Mom’s daughter was revealing her plans to a grievously injured Reiju, Sanji stood dejectedly on the balcony. Even when Pudding reached into Reiju’s mind and altered her memory to erase any traces of her attack and the devastating conversation, Sanji chose to hold his tongue and chose to speak with his sister in the infirmary.

Given Sanji’s behavior, it is likely he would calmly purge himself of all the love he had for Pudding and head in search of Luffy. Reiju had stressed that Sanji must go and find his friends, and Black Leg could do just that.

Surprisingly, Reiju chose not to react to the true plans of Big Mom that her brother mentioned. Instead of the fiery persona she is known to have, Reiju calmly accepted her fate, stating that she was always an accomplice to Judge Vinsmoke’s evil plans and hence deserves to die with the rest of the Vinsmoke clan at the hands of the Yonko.

In the previous chapter, Luffy was seen crazily charging towards Big Mom’s soldiers and henchmen. However, the Straw Hats captain is famished as he had made a emotional promise to Sanji back when the chef was pretending to hate the former in order to save the lives of his friends. Incidentally, all Luffy wants is to know where Sanji is being held.

Chapter 853 of One Piece manga is expected to be released this week. Mangaka Eiichiro Oda appears to have been building the story so far for an explosive climax that might indicate the end of Big Mom arc.
