A third tweeted: “Tim Lovejoy channelling his inner Starsky on Sunday Brunch today #SundayBrunch.”

“Dear Tim … What on earth is that cardigan all about #SundayBrunch,” someone else added.

“What is Tim wearing, he’s taken lockdown hard when he is wearing his slouchy clothes on tv #sundaybrunch,” a fifth remarked.

However, some viewers were fans of the new look as one tweeted: “A cardigan with BUILT-IN MITTENS! Need this in my life… @timlovejoy @SundayBrunchC4 #SundayBrunch.”

Dancing on Ice branded ‘ludicrous’ as Myleene Klass is first voted off ‘Beyond ridiculous’ https://briefnews.eu/dancing-on-ice-branded-ludicrous-as-myleene-klass-is-first-voted-off-beyond-ridiculous/ https://briefnews.eu/dancing-on-ice-branded-ludicrous-as-myleene-klass-is-first-voted-off-beyond-ridiculous/#respond Sun, 24 Jan 2021 20:45:39 +0000 https://briefnews.eu/dancing-on-ice-branded-ludicrous-as-myleene-klass-is-first-voted-off-beyond-ridiculous/

After Lady Leshurr and Myleene Klass took to the ice to try and keep their place in the ITV skating contest, it was left up to the judges as to which star would remain on Dancing on Ice. However, following the skate-off, it was Myleene and pro partner Lukasz who were sent packing in emotional scenes.

But it’s fair to say the decision to send Myleene hasn’t sat well with a number of ITV viewers.

Several Dancing on Ice fans were left fuming that Myleene and Lady Leshurr were the two who faced the skate-off in the first place.

Taking to Twitter following the Dancing on Ice exit, one vented: “Ludicrous. Neither of them should even have been in the skate-off. Beyond ridiculous that Myleene is out. #DancingOnIce.”

A second echoed: “Travesty that Myleene was in the bottom though. Last week it should have been Jason [Donovan], this week it should have been Billie [Shepherd] #DancingOnIce.”

A third added to the debate: “Myleene was not the worst tonight and didn’t deserve to be in the skate-off!! And now we’re deprived of Lucasz too #DOI.”

While a fourth added: “I don’t think anyone would have guessed Myleene would be out first. #DancingOnIce.”

Despite her early exit, Myleene remained gracious in defeat as she thanked Lukasz for their time together on the show.

And while her exit may have seemed premature to some, the leaderboard had hinted at a possible farewell after she failed to impress the judges earlier in the show.

Myleene’s departure was a result of all four judges unanimously voting to send Lady Leshurr through to the next round.

But speaking to Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield following the decision, Myleene remained in high spirits.

After receiving a standing ovation, Myleene said: “Can I just say, I couldn’t have done this obviously without Lukasz, without my family, without my friends.

“I mean, I’d never skated before and now I’ve got a skill I learnt in lockdown, who’d have thought it?” she added.

Myleene went onto mention how she’ll be hitting the ice rink once they open beyond lockdown with “a coffee” ready for her partner.

And signing off her farewell, the Dancing on Ice star continued: “To everybody, to all the skaters to everyone, to the whole team,

“It’s not been an easy production to put together in lockdown so – I feel really chuffed. It’s probably the most relaxed I’ve been in the whole competition.”

But which celebrity will be following in Myleene’s footsteps next week?

Dancing on Ice continues Sunday on ITV.

Michael Gove interview branded a ‘disaster’ as he argues with Piers over Scotch eggs https://briefnews.eu/michael-gove-interview-branded-a-disaster-as-he-argues-with-piers-over-scotch-eggs/ https://briefnews.eu/michael-gove-interview-branded-a-disaster-as-he-argues-with-piers-over-scotch-eggs/#respond Tue, 01 Dec 2020 10:15:11 +0000 https://briefnews.eu/michael-gove-interview-branded-a-disaster-as-he-argues-with-piers-over-scotch-eggs/

After Environment Secretary George Eustice claimed a Scotch egg counted as a substantial meal, Piers Morgan was keen to find out if Mr Gove agreed. The Good Morning Britain interview descended into chaos as Morgan and Susanna Reid grilled Gove over his definition of a substantial meal with the government minister failing to give an answer they were happy with.

Morgan remarked: “With respect Mr Gove, if you are one of the gang of four that’s been deciding all of this stuff all year, and even you can’t tell us what a substantial meal is, how is anybody supposed to know when they go to a restaurant or pub what to order?”

“Well you flatter me Piers by putting me in any gang,” Gove replied.

Morgan hit back: “Well you are in the gang aren’t you? You, Rishi Sunak, Matt Hancock and the Prime Minster.”

“No I’m not in any gang,” Gove clarified. “There is something called the cabinet and they take appropriate decisions.”

Interrupting, Morgan teased: “We were led to believe it was the four of you, the big boys.”

“No, even though you flatter me I think you’re also being a little bit unfair to the hospitality sector which has been able for years now.”

Again he was cut off as Morgan snapped: “But my point is even you Michael Gove doesn’t know what a substantial meal is yet you want us to all go out and support this industry and abide my the rules.

“Once more, we have government ministers who are not able to tell us what their own rules are.”

Those tuning into GMB were far from impressed with the interview and took to Twitter to slam Gove’s answers.

“#GMB @GMB this was so frustrating thing to watch. He doesn’t know what his own law is so how are we,” one viewer posted.

Another added: “Credit where credit is due though, I’m thankful that @piersmorgan uses his platform to call out the absolute complete failings in government.

“@michaelgove is a disaster in this interview. #GMB #goodmorningbritain.”

A third continued: “#scotcheggrow why can’t you answer the question grove @piersmorgan he is so boycotting the question #GMB.”

“I can see now why the MP’s boycott GMB! When challenged they haven’t got a clue! How can you not know what a substantial meal is, when you’re in charge of that law?! Ffs #gmb #MichaelGove #1stDecember #December1st,” someone else tweeted.

A fifth posted: “Are we really arguing about whether a scotch egg is a substantial meal? What even is this year!!! #gmb.”

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV at 6am.

Kate Middleton fans convinced duchess spotted on The Crown as show branded ‘deeply unfair’ https://briefnews.eu/kate-middleton-fans-convinced-duchess-spotted-on-the-crown-as-show-branded-deeply-unfair/ https://briefnews.eu/kate-middleton-fans-convinced-duchess-spotted-on-the-crown-as-show-branded-deeply-unfair/#respond Tue, 17 Nov 2020 06:53:01 +0000 https://briefnews.eu/kate-middleton-fans-convinced-duchess-spotted-on-the-crown-as-show-branded-deeply-unfair/

The episode focused on Princess Diana – played by Emma Corrin – and Prince Charles – portrayed by Josh O’Connor – during their tour of Australia and it featured on the show’s season 4. The couple are seen greeting the masses before a woman wearing a yellow jacket catches the eye for her uncanny resemblance to the Duchess of Cambridge.

While Kate did not make a cameo in the show, some viewers were eager to point out the coincidence.

One person wrote on Twitter: “Meta moment in S4 Ep6 of #TheCrown….while depicting Charles and Diana’s trip to Oz, one of the women reaching out to touch Diana is the spit of Kate Middleton…”

While the show has received favourable from viewers, Palace insiders have criticised the portrayal of the Royal Family.

One source told the Mail on Sunday: “This is drama and entertainment for commercial ends being made with no regard to the actual people involved who are having their lives hijacked and exploited.

“In this case, it’s dragging up things that happened during very difficult times 25 or 30 years ago without a thought for anyone’s feelings.

“That isn’t right or fair, particularly when so many of the things being depicted don’t represent the truth.”

Specifically, the portrayal of Prince Charles and his relationship with Diana allegedly sparked outrage within Palace.

Speaking to the Mail on Sunday, one Palace source said: “The new series paints the Prince and Duchess in a very unflattering light but at least at the start of reality shows like The Only Way Is Essex they admit that some scenes have been invented for entertainment.

“It is yet another example, perhaps, of how difficult it is to mix being royal with the commercial world. There are bear traps everywhere.

“I would guess that William is very angry about this latest series of The Crown. And be deeply upset on behalf of his family. As will Harry.

“It is a grotesque and deeply unfair portrayal of their father, mother and stepmother, and of the wider family, including, of course, their grandparents whom they love dearly.

“Because this series is now covering a time and events that so many people can remember, but is incredibly damaging.

Upon arriving at the second property in Costa Blanca, Bob, who was keen on staying in the UK, knew the property was good enough to win him over.

“I’m in trouble here,” Bob jokingly told his other half and A Place in the Sun host.

“You’re not being fair, are you?” Bob added as he could feel himself and Judith being drawn to the property.

“This is exactly what you wanted,” Jasmine added and she had more good news to add to the pair’s first impression.

Sheridan’s aim was to make the show as authentic as possible to ranch-wrokers and those who live a similar lifestyle to the Dutton family.

As a result, he knew that this would make it successful and appealing to the rest of the population.

“I’m writing it for cowboys because if I make it authentic and believable to them, everyone else will believe the premise as well,” he said.

“Market it the same way, go to horse shows, go to rodeos, go to state fairs and put up banners there.”

GMB branded ‘embarrassing and unprofessional’ as Trump debate spirals into chaos https://briefnews.eu/gmb-branded-embarrassing-and-unprofessional-as-trump-debate-spirals-into-chaos/ https://briefnews.eu/gmb-branded-embarrassing-and-unprofessional-as-trump-debate-spirals-into-chaos/#respond Tue, 06 Oct 2020 09:33:13 +0000 https://briefnews.eu/gmb-branded-embarrassing-and-unprofessional-as-trump-debate-spirals-into-chaos/

One of the top headlines on Good Morning Britain was Donald Trump’s return to the White House after he contracted coronavirus. Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid invited two guests onto the show to discuss whether or not the US President’s move was acceptable and how it could affect his chances in the upcoming election.

However, the debate quickly descended into chaos as all participants ended up speaking over one another.

Piers clashed with a Trump supporter as they argued over whether the President should have kept his mask on when entering the White House.

“If the President of the United States is Covid-positive, he should be self-isolating,” the presenter raged as the debate came to an end.

Ben hit back: “All I can say is I’m glad the President is alive unlike the Washington Post who are saying they hope he’s dead.”

“Nobody should hope he’s dead, I wish him a full recovery,” Piers shot back.

At the same time, Susanna stated: “Everybody is glad when someone recovers from Covid but everybody thinks you should act in a way as a role model not to spread the virus.”

However Piers continued to talk over both his co-host and guest as he continued: “I heard you yesterday on CMM I think it was saying every time you go out you put your mask on because you have respect for other people and yourself and your family when you go home.

“He does not have that respect.

Another added: “Let’s have a heated debate? That was not good television! sorry @piersmorgan #GMB.”

“#GMB another day another absolute car crash of an interview,” a third posted.

Someone else tweeted: “Embarrasing. Everyone shouting and talking over each other. Susanna can’t get a word in. She might as well not be there. Show is a mess. #GMB.”

“That was not a debate, it was a shouting match and an embarrassment to watch…@gmb #gmb,” a fifth tweeted.

Earlier in the show, Kate Garraway said she found Trump’s latest claims about coronavirus “heartbreaking”.

She remarked: “It’s extraordinary isn’t it, it is extraordinary. It’s heartbreaking actually.

“His attitude, you could argue, sanctioned the behaviour at that event whenever it was in September.

“Now nine people have been infected, 10 including him, would they have even traced many of the other people?”

British Airways DISASTER: How terminal opening was branded 'national embarrassment' https://briefnews.eu/british-airways-disaster-how-terminal-opening-was-branded-national-embarrassment/ https://briefnews.eu/british-airways-disaster-how-terminal-opening-was-branded-national-embarrassment/#respond Thu, 29 Nov 2018 15:02:20 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/british-airways-disaster-how-terminal-opening-was-branded-national-embarrassment/

British Airways is a trusted airline, famous for having the largest fleet in the UK and boasting exceptional customer service. However, ten years ago the brand was left embarrassed when the opening of Terminal 5 at Heathrow Airport went terribly wrong. In BBC’s 2014 documentary “A Very British Airline”, they explain how the baggage system at Terminal 5 was “chaos” on the day in 2008.

They reveal how “thousands of bags were separated by their owners”, and the day was branded a “national disaster”.

At the time, the only airline to fly from the terminal was British Airways so the “embarrassment” was shared between Heathrow administrators and BA.

The opening was of the showcase terminal, which is said to have cost £4.3billion.

At the time, it was reported that British Airways were forced to cancel 34 short-haul and domestic flights.

They admitted that while rehearsals for the opening had been completed, on the day they had a problem with “staff familiarisation with the terminal”.

A baggage handler told the BBC in 2008 that it was “a shambles the moment the doors opened”.

They went on to blame British Airways for the “lack of training and the essential support that was promised”.

Today, the baggage system at Terminal 5 runs much smoother, and with 11 miles of conveyer belts, it is one of the largest in the world.

BA advertise the Terminal today as offering a “seamless airport experience” complete with “stylish shops, restaurants and luxurious lounges”.

Strictly Come Dancing: Katya Jones and Seann Walsh kiss branded AWKWARD by Piers Morgan https://briefnews.eu/strictly-come-dancing-katya-jones-and-seann-walsh-kiss-branded-awkward-by-piers-morgan/ https://briefnews.eu/strictly-come-dancing-katya-jones-and-seann-walsh-kiss-branded-awkward-by-piers-morgan/#respond Mon, 08 Oct 2018 07:31:32 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/strictly-come-dancing-katya-jones-and-seann-walsh-kiss-branded-awkward-by-piers-morgan/

Strictly Come Dancing fans were shocked yesterday when Seann Walsh and Katya Jones were spotted kissing while out in public.

The pair were caught in pictures and video getting very close following a night out in London.

Seann and Katya both issued apologies about the event, blaming alcohol for their actions.

Never one to stay quiet, Piers Morgan hit out at the “awkward” moment on Good Morning Britain earlier today.

Piers said this morning: “What is it with the water with Strictly Come Dancing?”

Susanna Reid added: “It’s going to be slightly awkward…”

But with the pair carrying on with the competition, Piers admitted it is going to be slightly more tense.

“Now they have to carry one with each other and we know there is a little more fission in the air.

“This is awkward if you’re one of their partners…” he continued. “You probably wouldn’t want to see this every weekend.”

Piers finished by explaining how alcohol is a “terrible thing”.

Susanna went on to add: “That’s why I’ve given up – and I don’t do terrible things anymore.

“There was no drunken snogging during my time on Strictly.”

Piers took the opportunity to joke about the real reason he has never been on Stickily Come Dancing.

He giggled: “That’s why I wouldn’t do it, those dancers would find me too irresistible.

“This thing of dancing with someone that closely for weeks on end, human nature…

“So many [actors] have affairs because they’re just so intimate with [each other].”

Following on from the pictures, Seann took to Twitter to comment on the pictures: “In light of the story in today’s newspaper I would like to offer my sincere apologies for my actions.

“This is no excuse but it was a one-off drunken mistake which I am truly sorry for.”

Katya added: “I’m so sorry about any offence or hurt I may have caused with my actions. I wasn’t thinking and it was a one-off mistake after some drinks.

“I love my husband and we are very happy together, this is not a reflection on our relationship.”

Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday on BBC One at 6.40pm and Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV from 6am.

Venom branded a ‘complete FAILURE’ in savage first reactions – but it’s not all bad https://briefnews.eu/venom-branded-a-complete-failure-in-savage-first-reactions-but-its-not-all-bad/ https://briefnews.eu/venom-branded-a-complete-failure-in-savage-first-reactions-but-its-not-all-bad/#respond Tue, 02 Oct 2018 11:39:01 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/venom-branded-a-complete-failure-in-savage-first-reactions-but-its-not-all-bad/

The Tom Hardy movie is in cinemas tomorrow, October 3, with reviews not due to be published until just hours before the first public screening.

That seemed to make some fans suspicious that bosses were fearing negative feedback – and it seems they may have been right.

Critics who have seen the movie have been able to unleash their opinions via Twitter and it’s not looking good.

IGN’s Tom Horrorgensen said: “Sorry to say that #Venom is pretty much a complete failure – a tonal mess that feels 15 years old, ignoring the storytelling strides that the superhero genre has made in recent years.

“A few fun Venom-centric moments aside, it has nearly nothing to offer. Don’t get your hopes up.”

Asked about the CGI by a follower, he branded it “awful”.

Mike Ryan of Uproxx said: “I’m *fascinated* with VENOM. The cast seems to all know they’re in a darker superhero movie, except Tom Hardy who is basically remaking Jim Carrey’s Liar Liar.

“I kinda loved watching this movie, in a Rocky Horror type of way. At one point Tom Hardy and Venom make out.”

Perri Nemiroff of Collider commented: “Significant chunks of #Venom don’t work *at all* but there is some serious charm to the Eddie/Venom relationship.

“Not sure I had the intended reactions to some scenes but fun is fun – even when it’s totally ridiculous, right? It’s too bad they didn’t go for the R rating though.”

Scott Mendelson of Forbes posted: “Tom Hardy’s performance in #Venom is either Johnny Depp in the first PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN or Chris Klein in STREET FIGHTER: THE LEGEND OF CHUN-LI. Either way, it’s not boring.”

And Brandon Davis said: “Action-sequences and Eddie and Venom’s odd relationship are the highlights of #Venom but if Sony wants to move forward with a universe, it needs to just keep the few parts that work and scrap the large portion which doesn’t.”

It’s not all bad though – Beatrice Verhoeven of The Wrap said: “#Venom wasn’t as bad as everyone was saying it was going to be.

“Tom Hardy is and always will be a great actor, and I laughed a lot — but I’m not sure whether that was intentional or not. Post-credit scene is [fire].”

Hardy himself revealed in an interview over the weekend that 40 minutes’ worth of his favourite scenes have been cut.

Venom is out tomorrow.
