You season two is finally here on Netflix and sees creepy Joe Goldberg (played by Penn Badgley) move to Los Angeles under the name Will Bettleheim. The new series of You features a brand new cast, including Jenna Ortega, Victoria Pedretti, James Scully, Carmela Zumbado and Saffron Burrows.
WARNING: This article contains spoilers about You season 2
Saffron Burrows is a British-American actress and former model from London.
In You season two, Burrows portrays Dottie Quinn, the mother of Love (Victoria Pedretti) and Forty (James Scully).
Dottie and her husband Ray (Michael Reilly Burke), are wealthy Los Angeles socialites, who have an estranged relationship with their children.
After murdering Delilah (Carmela Zumbado) and Candace (Ambyr Childers) in the You season two finale, Love explained to a panicked Joe her parents were ‘very powerful’ people who ‘own the LAPD’.
However, Forty knew what really happened but was forced to believe the false narrative his parents had created.
As a result of the trauma 13-year-old Forty went through, in his late teens he became a drug addict and Love was left to take care of her broken brother.
Throughout the series, Love confessed to Joe that her parents were absent from her childhood and warned him they are ‘terrible’.
In episode five, titled Have a Good Wellkend, Joe! Love, Forty, Candace and Joe attend the renewal of Dottie and Ray’s vows at a spiritual ceremony called a ‘wellkend’.
At the wellkend, it is revealed Dottie has a strained relationship with Love.
When Forty turns up high to the renewal ceremony, Dottie blamed Love for his relapse. She even said: “You disgust me.”
Love then called her mother a “f****** hypocrite” and in response, Dottie slapped her daughter across the face.
However, Dottie’s actions only brought Love and Joe closer, with Joe opening up about his traumatic childhood of abuse at the hands of his father.

]]>CBS’ Survivor has revealed the cast for Season 39 of the long-running reality-TV competition — as well as announced how series vets “Boston Rob” Mariana and Sandra Diaz-Twine fit in.
Premiering on Wednesday, Sept. 25 at 8/7c, Season 39 brings back “legendary winners” Boston Rob and Sandra — who together have plated more than 200 days of Survivor — as mentors to a group of 20 new castaways. As such, Boston Rob and Sandra will serve as the “idols” in this season’s “Island of the Idols” twist, in that some castaways will be afforded the opportunity to visit the Island of the Idols to learn skills and strategy. Each castaway who visits the “island” must then decide if they should put their knowledge to the test for a chance at a possible advantage in the game… or risk losing something very important in the process.
“It’s a Survivor boot camp where each week, players will be instructed on a different facet of the game and then have a chance to test what they’ve learned for a shot at an advantage,” explains executive producer and host Jeff Probst.

The Warriors defeated the Celtics 115-111 on Saturday night.
In doing so, they extended their win streak to ten games, as they extend their lead at the top of the NBA Western Conference.
More personally for Kerr, it was his 300th win as a coach in just his 377th game. He reached the landmark quicker than any NBA, NFL or MLB coach in history.
However, they were made to work for the win, after the Celtics took it down to the final 30 seconds of the game.
The lead changed hands continuously throughout, as Kyrie Irving dropped 32 points for Boston.
Some have predicted that Saturday night’s game was a dress rehearsal for the NBA Finals series, and Kerr refused to rule that out.
Speaking after the game, he explained that the Celtics are still a team to be feared.
“They’re not far at all,” Kerr said when asked how far away the Celtics are from being a championship contender.
“They’re one of the best teams in the league.
“They’re great defensively, and they’ve got dynamic offensive players.
“Already they’re one of the best.”
Kerr also hinted that it will be easier for teams in the Eastern Conference to make it through to the NBA Finals, now that LeBron James has moved over to the West.
However, he remained grounded by claiming that the NBA is as strong as it has been in some time.
“It’ll be interesting to see this year who comes out of the East, with LeBron out of the East,” he continued.
“We’ve got some work to do before we get out of the West this year, there’s a lot of great teams.
“The league is better this year than it’s been in a long time.
“Boston is clearly a great two-way team and that’s what it takes in the playoffs.”
Stephen Saunders and his family learned Wednesday that the Nova Scotia government has agreed to pay for CAR-T cell therapy, a treatment that would genetically modify his T-cells so they target and kill his cancer cells.

In 1974, Federal District Court Judge W. Arthur Garrity ruled that the Boston School Committee had deliberately segregated the city’s schools, creating one system for Blacks and another for Whites — separate, unequal and unconstitutional.
And there was hardly a soul in South Boston who accepted the idea that the remedy to achieve racial balance and desegregate schools was busing. Unrest grew in the streets of Southie as some 18,000 Black and White students were ordered to take buses to schools outside of their neighborhoods.
Anti-busing demonstrations grew larger and louder as White parents in South Boston refused to send their children to nearby Black schools in Dorchester. The buses carrying the Black students from Dorchester were pelted by rocks as South Boston High School became a battlefield, while Boston Tactical Police Force regiments worked brutally and unsuccessfully to keep the peace inside the beleaguered school’s walls. The iconic photo of a White teen, Joe Rakes, attacking a Black man with the American flag said it all. Nothing was sacred. Racial violence was the rule of the land.

Karen Weeks Rakes, who eventually married Joe Rakes, was a sophomore at South Boston High School when busing began. “I remember how the state troopers were all lined up, inside and outside classrooms, making me wonder if I were in school or a war zone,” she says. “When one of our students, Michael Faith, was stabbed, school was closed for a month. When we came back, there were metal detectors at the doors and we had to stand in long lines before we could even get into the school.”
Busing unrest was not the only force at work menacing the streets of Southie. The crime world was having its own war after the 1965 release of future Irish Mob boss James “Whitey” Bulger from Alcatraz. He’d served nine years for bank robbery, only to return to South Boston, where he had grown up in the housing projects. His ascent to the top of the criminal world began thanks to a feud between two gangs: The Mullens and the Killeens.
Who were the Mullens and the Killeens? Here’s your scorecard: The Mullens, an Irish-American gang operating in South Boston, got its name from the gang’s home base in Joseph Mullen Square at O and East Second Street. Their criminal activities included racketeering, armed robbery, auto theft, burglary, extortion, loansharking, illegal gambling and murder. Their allies included the Winter Hill gang of Somerville, north of Boston, which also attracted mobsters of predominantly Irish and Italian descent.
Things got dicey in 1971, when Donald Killeen’s younger brother, Kenneth, bit off the nose of Mickey Dwyer.
Winter Hill hit its peak starting in 1965, under the rule of James Buddy McLean and Howie Winter, until the takeover led by Bulger in 1979. In the 1970s, the gang was proficient at murdering rival mobsters in order to take over their rackets. By 1979, however, Howie Winter and the rest of the Somerville crew were all sent to prison for fixing horse races, leaving Bulger as one of the new leaders of the Winter Hill gang.
Meanwhile, the Irish-American Killeen brothers, Donald, Kenneth, George and Edward, ran the bookmaking and loansharking in Southie. It was inevitable they would soon butt heads. Things got dicey in 1971, when Donald Killeen’s younger brother, Kenneth, bit off the nose of Mickey Dwyer, a member of the Mullen gang, during an argument at the Transit, a local watering hole. Shortly after the nose incident, Mullen members Paulie McGonagle, Francis (Buddy) Leonard, Tommy King and Dennis (Buddy) Roache went to the Transit, the Killeen gang’s main base of operations, to confront the Killeens, who had already left. The presence of the Mullens at the Killeen’s headquarters was viewed as a direct challenge by Donald Killeen.
The long list of assassinations followed for several weeks after the Transit incident, but escalated when Killeen enforcers Bulger and Billy O’Sullivan killed Donald McGonagle — not himself a gang member — by mistake.
As described by Bulger’s longtime lieutenant Kevin Weeks in his book BRUTAL: The Untold Story of My Life Inside Whitey Bulger’s Irish Mob, McGonagle’s death was a wrong place, wrong time situation. Bulger allegedly drove up beside Mullen member Paulie McGonagle and shouted his name. When McGonagle turned, Bulger shot him — just as he realized that it was Paulie’s brother, Donald. “Donald was the most likable of the McGonagle brothers, the only one who wasn’t involved in anything,” Weeks writes. “Jimmy drove straight to Billy O’Sullivan’s house on Savin Hill Avenue and told Billy O., who was at the stove cooking, ‘I shot the wrong one. I shot Donald.’ Billy looked up from the stove and said, ‘Don’t worry about it. He wasn’t healthy anyway. He smoked. He would have gotten lung cancer. How do you want your pork chops?’”

Donald’s brother, Paulie McGonagle — an actual mobster — vowed revenge and, according to Mullen member Patrick Nee, personally murdered O’Sullivan. But Bulger came out on top after a Mullen gang enforcer shot Killeen gang mob boss Donald Killeen in 1972. The leadership of the Killeen faction then landed on Bulger, who was in hiding on Cape Cod. Nee arranged for their dispute to be mediated by leaders of other crime families, and after a sit-down, the gangs joined forces with Howie Winter of the Winter Hill gang as the overall boss. From 1973 on, he would control the rackets in South Boston, murdering rivals and taking out enemies until he went on the run in 1994.
Ironically, Bulger, rather than recruit talent from the enraged Southie high school kids who were relishing fighting in the streets to preserve their city’s integrity, reportedly did all he could to quell the local hooligans from causing more anti-busing turmoil. Many said it was because Whitey had no desire to have a continued federal government presence in the streets while he was building up his own crime operation. Still, the chaos in Southie helped Bulger enlist the services of one of his future lieutenants, a recent graduate of Southie who’d been hired to help keep order in the school’s corridors. Bulger offered Kevin Weeks a lot more money than the school was paying him, and a key criminal arrangement that was to last for 25 years began.
Karen Weeks Rakes, who was also Kevin Weeks’ sister, was grateful that her parents were able to get her out of the busing unrest in the ’70s, but she regrets how many students were not so lucky. “Lots of kids, practically a whole generation of them, simply dropped out and never got a high school education,” she says. “That was a crime.”
Phyllis Karas’ next book on crime is Women of Southie: Finding Resilience During Whitey Bulger’s Infamous Reign.

FROM “SKETCHTASY”
Every time we go anywhere in East Boston, everyone stares. I mean everyone. At the laundromat it’s mostly the kids who talk and point and laugh, until finally one of them comes up to us and says: Are you from Boston?
These kids all have East Boston accents, almost like Southie but maybe a little more nasal. I’m starting to like these neighborhood accents, even if they often come with awful people. And sure, I could point out to these clueless kids that hello, East Boston is really just a neighborhood in Boston—it’s not like it’s its own town or anything. But instead I just nod my head—sure, we’re from Boston.
This kid looks impressed. Meanwhile, Polly and I are using the hot cycle on the washing machines to make sure we don’t have crabs again, and while we’re waiting we go outside where it’s not quite so sweltering and pretend everyone isn’t watching. Eventually we head home and while we’re walking over the bridge to nowhere someone starts yelling hey, hey, but we’re not going to fall for that one. Then a bottle flies right over our heads, bounces off a wall and smashes on the sidewalk a few feet in front of us.
Maybe if we pretend this isn’t happening, it isn’t happening. Some woman opens her door and I don’t know what I’m looking for, but she closes the door anyway. Then some guy with greasy hair comes out of his house up ahead, rubbing his face like he can’t believe what he’s seeing, and then he starts screaming at us, something about his neighborhood and what the fuck.
Actually it’s our neighborhood too, I say, and he says what, what did you just say? What?
I say we live here, honey.
And he spits on the ground, then rushes back inside and you can hear him going up the stairs in heavy shoes. We keep walking, and just after we pass his house there’s a loud noise behind us like maybe he dropped a brick out his window, or not a brick, something bigger, maybe a cinderblock. It kind of makes me jump but I’m still trying to act like I don’t notice, though Polly’s already turned. Alexa, she says, do you think he was trying to hit us? I’m looking at her and she’s biting her lip and we’re both holding onto the laundry cart and pushing from different sides because otherwise it starts to collapse.
This is ridiculous, I say, but then I notice Polly’s about to cry so I reach over to touch her hand even though I know maybe that’s not the safest thing. But it’s not like anyone hasn’t spotted us spoiling their Italian-American homeland—they’re already angry about the Latinos on the other side of the square but we’re right next to them. So we push the laundry cart the rest of the way just like that, with my clammy hand on top of Polly’s sweaty hand, frosted blue fingernails on top of fuck-me fuchsia. At one point Polly starts to shake like she’s really going to cry, so I stop pushing and look over. Her face is all pink, glassy eyes and just a hint of dark eyeliner contrasting her reddish-blonde curls and freckles, and I notice the light is really beautiful right now.
I need a cocktail, Polly says when we get inside and I say there’s Stoli in the freezer. Usually I don’t drink at home because it’s boring, but I guess if there’s a time for cocktails it’s now. I pour two screwdrivers and Polly snorts a line in her room. Do you want any coke, she says, her voice already different.
No, I say, I have to take the car to the repair shop. Or maybe it’s too late. Are you okay?
I’m okay now, she says, and suddenly I feel so sad that I don’t know how to speak. Polly comes into the dining room and wiggles her tongue, shakes her hips, and puts the mirror on the table with way too much white powder. I snort a line, and oh, yes, let it begin.
I put on “Brighter Days.” Usually I don’t like the vocal diva drama, but this song is different, it’s Cajmere—yes, honey, those clanking beats rotating into the vocal shaking with the booming bass and they call this the new Chicago sound because it’s got that vocal but also it’s hard—Polly, if this is what they’re playing in Chicago, maybe we should move there.
I sit down with the cocktails, and Polly lights a cigarette and looks at me in that way that means we’re here in this mood together, and I say what are we going to do on your birthday?
The same thing we do every day.
Should we go to P-town?
Alexa, we are not going to make it to P-town.
What about Revere Beach?
Revere Beach—that’s on the Blue Line, we can make it to Revere. For sunset.
Oh, that’s perfect—almost feels like my birthday.
You didn’t tell me about your birthday.
I’ll tell you next time.
Alexa, you have a page.
Should I call it?
That’s up to you.
The way this song takes a cheesy narrative about feeling so blue, that’s what the vocal keeps saying, feeling so blue, and then bringing it into something so blue it’s bluer than blue, but what does that make it? This cocktail, this conversation right now, our relationship, I mean we’re not talking about anything, but somehow we’re talking about everything. I don’t want to turn a trick right now.
