The two housemates got the boot in a double eviction ahead of the live final this Friday. 

Despite getting cheers from the crowds, they clearly didn’t get any votes from viewers to save them from the chop.

There were a total of six stars facing the boot from the Elstree compound and it was clear that the duo looked shocked to be leaving.

Speaking in her exit interview, the Absolutely Fabulous actress said: “My heart is racing, it’s not a normal situation. We’ve been captive with our collars with our microphones.”

She went on to say: “Everyone is mad. The children scream, Derek speaks, Sandi cooks all the time. I am trying to get through neutral and pleasant.” 

Meanwhile, Sandi said that she was pleased that Sarah Harding and Chad Johnson actually cooked in the kitchen and that she didn’t mind them entering her domain.

It was revealed that Chad and Sarah had voted for them, which came as no surprise to them.

She checks who’s done that. You can’t get near the sink. 

Sandi told Emma that she would not do things to get air time, saying: “I’m not stripping off. I won’t be bringing out a bikini.”

She sternly added: “A lot of other parts was shown on a regular basis. There were others showing bits and bobos. It’s reality, they known what will be shown.” 

Both thought that Chad and Sarah were likely to win the series because they knew what they were doing.

The 52-year-old appeared to wear a blank stare as she told fellow housemate that the ghost of Derek Acorah’s grandmother had told him to smoking so many cigarettes. 

Spiritual medium Derek, 67, responded by telling her and the rest of the housemates: “That’s my nan, she always tells me to stop smoking.”

The moment left many people unsettled as the usually bubbly reality star really looked like she was channelling a spirit of some sort.

Many people took to social media to discuss the strange moment on the Channel 5 series with one person posting: “Nah but wtf just happened to Sandy…I’m so creeped out #CBB.”

A second questioned: “Bro what???? When Derek was doing the ghost s**t was Sandy possessed or what I’m mad confused #cbb.”

A third exclaimed: “Is Sandi possessed holy s**t #CBB.”

“Me when Sandi started channelling spirits out of nowhere #CBB,” wrote another person on Twitter along with a picture of a shocked face. 

The scenes were part of a task set by Big Brother and involved Derek summoning spirits to the Elstree Compound, leaving his housemates suitably spooked by the strange goings-on.

Among the ghosts brought to the house were apparently people who had worked at Elstree Studios previously, including someone called Malcolm who appeared to be a vengeful wraith. 

At one point Derek appeared to be talking to someone in the darkness: “So be aware you hurt my friend, my colleague, good energy.”

Moments later it seemed like there was a ghost in the room as something appeared to rush past Karthik Nagesan as he jumped and looked visibly shaken. 

“What the f**k is that all about?” he exclaimed as he hugged Derek for protection. 

Celebrity Big Brother continues on Channel 5 tomorrow at 9pm.

Mutual funds and hedge funds are full of excuses, according to the man who revolutionized investing for Main Street.

John C. Bogle created Vanguard, which in 1976 launched the first index fund – a fund that passively tracks the stock market.

Passive investing took some time to catch on, but in recent decades index funds like Vanguard’s have eaten up the assets of active managers like mutual funds and hedge funds, which try with their own analysis to beat the markets.

Active managers face a big business problem with the indexing trend. Active management fees are much higher than index funds’, and at the same time many active managers aren’t outperforming their index benchmarks – leading investors to question why they should pay money for underperformance.

Meanwhile, lots of criticism has been leveled at index funds – from allegedly creating anti-trust concerns to distorting markets – but Bogle won’t have any of it.

In an extensive interview with Business Insider, Bogle laid out his counterattack against those that criticize passive investing. Here’s an excerpt from our chat (emphasis added):

Levy: Another criticism I hear is that index funds are somehow distorting the market. How would you respond to that?

Bogle: You just look at the math. I won’t get into the damn trading in ETFs, trading from one bank to another. I don’t see how that distorts the market because it’s bankers trading with bankers.

As for the traditional index funds like ours, we’d probably account for — let me guess — less than 1% of the volume trading on the New York Stock Exchange. We just go in and buy the darn stock and hold it forever. And if we get more money in, we buy some more, and if we have money going out, which is pretty rare these days, we sell some. It’s not a big part of the marketplace.

People are just throwing up a whole lot of straw men in the hope that they can find some piece of mud that will stick. That’s probably what I’d do if I were in their position.

These active managers have a real business problem. They are losing money. Vanguard accounts for over 100% of the cash flow in the industry. One firm. All the other firms in the industry together are losing money, losing cash flow. Of course they don’t like it. I understand that. But it was never my design to build a colossus.
