“It is disappointing though for anyone under 50 that is now going to have to wait longer for their vaccinations than they might have otherwise done,” Hawkins said.

“Can you just clear up what is behind this issue with supply because the Prime Minister pointed to the fact there was a delay for various technical reasons.

“But we know that India’s Foreign Minister has told the parliament there that vaccine export conditions are based on the assessment of adequate availability at home. So is it to do with the Indian Government not wanting to release these supplies to us at the moment?”

“No, the Indian Government hasn’t blocked the export of this vaccines, there have been challenges at the Serum Institute and they’ve done a fantastic job, the volumes of vaccines they’ve produced is amazing. We will get this vaccine, it won’t interrupt the overall flow,” Dowden replied.

“52? Oh my God, bye everyone, I’m leaving,” he commented in shock, pretending to walk off the set.

Naga was left in stitches by his reaction to her joke.

Charlie on the other hand added: “So I am going to take this challenge seriously,” to which Naga chimed: “What makes you think I didn’t?”

After Charlie’s low guess of 31, Owain thanked the “great lighting in this studio” and revealed he actually just turned 37.

Wheel of Fortune’s Pat Sajak Made an Unprecedented (and Hilarious) Blunder on Friday’s Show — Watch Video https://briefnews.eu/wheel-of-fortunes-pat-sajak-made-an-unprecedented-and-hilarious-blunder-on-fridays-show-watch-video/ https://briefnews.eu/wheel-of-fortunes-pat-sajak-made-an-unprecedented-and-hilarious-blunder-on-fridays-show-watch-video/#respond Sat, 20 Feb 2021 09:02:59 +0000 https://briefnews.eu/wheel-of-fortunes-pat-sajak-made-an-unprecedented-and-hilarious-blunder-on-fridays-show-watch-video/

There was no spinning this one — Wheel of Fortune host Pat Sajak screwed up. And he was the first to admit it.

During the bonus round on Friday’s show, Sajak — who has served as Wheel‘s master of ceremonies for four mostly error-free decades — accidentally opened the grand prize envelope at the start of the climactic segment instead of at the end. Immediately catching his blunder, the unflappable emcee leaned on the prize wheel and broke down laughing.

“I’m not sure why I did that,” he sheepishly chuckled, before faux-boasting to viewers at home: “I know what she’s playing for, and you don’t.” Seconds later, Sajak jokingly blamed the mishap on the calendar, cracking, “It must be Friday.” (Watch video of the Wheel-y rare moment below.)

Later, during the closing credits, Sajak’s co-headliner, Vanna White, made light of the historic moment. “I don’t think you’ve ever done that,” she noted. And Sajak concurred.

“There’s a first time for every mistake,” he confessed, before playfully adding, “Even I’m not perfect. I know that’s shocking news.”

To close off the show, the presenters had a debate about mittens seeing the icy chills the weather forecasted for the day.

“Hood up, scarf on, hat on,” said Naga. “Gloves?” asked Mike Bushell

“Mittens!” replied Jon, while Mike was baffled by the idea.

“I had gloves and mittens on yesterday when I went for a walk,” said Naga.

James Martin walks off his own show Saturday Morning after custard tart blunder https://briefnews.eu/james-martin-walks-off-his-own-show-saturday-morning-after-custard-tart-blunder/ https://briefnews.eu/james-martin-walks-off-his-own-show-saturday-morning-after-custard-tart-blunder/#respond Sat, 30 Jan 2021 12:30:10 +0000 https://briefnews.eu/james-martin-walks-off-his-own-show-saturday-morning-after-custard-tart-blunder/

James Martin was back on ITV with his Saturday Morning show which was once again jam-packed with advice and mouthwatering recipes. He welcomed Charlie Boorman to talk about his new series Long Way Up, while Ryan and Liam Simpson-Trotman shared recipes for venison. The TV chef also headed to Devon to learn more about fishing mussels.

However, not long into the show, James walked off as he was left red-faced over a comment about a custard tart.

Reeling off what was yet to be shown, James said: “Still to come, I get a masterclass in cream.

“Lenny Carr-Roberts, my local pub landlord will be here with a custard tart.

“But don’t go anywhere because after the break I’m cooking crab rarebit for my guest Charlie Boorman. I’ll see you in a bit.”

As the show went to cut to a break, James was seen walking off as he scolded himself over one of the comments he’d made.

“I don’t know why I said custard tart,” he exclaimed as he left his kitchen.

James didn’t mention the awkward moment as he was quick to get cooking for guest Charlie when he returned from the ad break.

The TV chef shared an insight into how the series is made as he posted a behind-the-scenes snap on his Instagram account.

Last week on Saturday Morning, James sparked a frenzy as he revealed how he eats prawn toast.

The chef noted his love of butter and cream before cutting a wedge of butter and placing it on top of the toast.

“This is how you eat [fried bread],” he began. “Can’t believe I’m doing this on TV.”

“I’m going to get so many letters… of support.

“Now, I got into trouble because I did roast potatoes once and I said – my mum was here, she doesn’t do many TV appearances but she came on here – we were always taught to eat roast potatoes with the same amount of butter.

Samantha explained she was heading out on a shopping trip anyway so asked if Tom wanted to join and go to Argos to pick up the lead.

After briefly joking Tom would’ve found Argos’ famous small pens big, Rob eventually asked Lee’s team what they thought.

Lee and his co-stars were convinced Samantha was telling the truth but it turned out the TWD star had everyone fooled.

“It’s a lie,” Samantha revealed as she landed a point for David’s team.

Would I Lie to You? continues Fridays on BBC One.

Tess Daly apologises to Strictly Come Dancing viewers after unfortunate presenting blunder https://briefnews.eu/tess-daly-apologises-to-strictly-come-dancing-viewers-after-unfortunate-presenting-blunder/ https://briefnews.eu/tess-daly-apologises-to-strictly-come-dancing-viewers-after-unfortunate-presenting-blunder/#respond Sun, 08 Nov 2020 06:32:39 +0000 https://briefnews.eu/tess-daly-apologises-to-strictly-come-dancing-viewers-after-unfortunate-presenting-blunder/

Tess Daly, 51, was once again on hand to host proceedings on Strictly Come Dancing as the remaining 11 contestants took on Movie week. One performance which stood out from the rest was Made in Chelsea star Jamie’s after he performed a Charleston to the soundtrack of Disney’s Hercules. However, the routine was rather comedic and had the presenter and the judges of the BBC dance programme in hysterics, which led to an unfortunate blunder unravelling.

After Jamie and his professional dancing partner Karen Hauer, 38, received their scores from the panel, it was time for the host to welcome the next couple to the dance floor.

Unfortunately, she was caught completely unaware as when she returned to the screen, she was still laughing and almost choked on her own saliva.

Tess seemed quite composed but as she tried to introduce Clara Amfo, 36, her voice went off-piste before she put her hands to her mouth.

“Excuse me, but Jamie in that wig,” she said before carrying out her duties but she still had to issue an apology.

“Sorry,” the presenter whispered to viewers watching at home as the sequence rolled to bring the next couple to the stage.

By the time Tess returned to the screen to get the judge’s comments for Clara’s performance, she had finally regained her composure.

Taking to Twitter, viewers commented on the moment, with one writing: “Why did Tess say sorry earlier? #Strictly.”

Another added: “You alright there Tess love, you need a glass of water? #Strictly #SCD #StrictlyComeDancing.”

Whilst a third commented on the presenter’s reaction to Jamie’s performance: “Tess, it wasn’t that funny…..was she trying to hide a cough #Strictly.”

Ahead of week three of the competition, the game changed as comedian Bill Bailey, 55, rose from the ashes and is now the third favourite to win the Glitterball Trophy.

According to the latest odds from Coral bookmakers, Oti Mabuse, 30, and her partner stand at 4/1 to become champions.

They had previously been at 50/1 to land victory but it seems the professional dancer is on course to receive her second consecutive win.

However, continuing to lead the way is EastEnders actress Maisie Smith, 19, who is the frontrunner at 2/1.

The soap star’s closest competitor is singer HRVY, 21, who stands at 9/4 to claim victory when the show ends next month.

Coral spokesperson Harry Aitkenhead said: “Maisie and HRVY lead the way, but Bill Bailey has been the real star of the show so far.

“We gave him a two percent chance of victory when the line-up was convinced but the odds just keep tumbling and that figure is now at 20 percent.”

Hot on their heels is actress Caroline Quentin, 60, who is currently in the fourth position in the winning polls at 10/1.

Strictly Come Dancing: The Results airs Sunday at 7:15pm on BBC One.

Some BBC Breakfast viewers agreed with the CEO as one tweeted: “Not often I agree with O’Leary but on this occasion I do. Anyone that’s been booking flights this year to travel must’ve known the risk of cancellation or travel restrictions.”

Another asked: “Why should they be refunded for a service that is still being provided?”

While someone else slammed the policy and tweeted: “My parents weren’t offered anything, just told the flight was going, if you cancel you get nothing. They are both in their 70s and didn’t want to risk their health or quarantine on return. I couldn’t believe their attitude.”

“Had a feeling this would happen. And all those people from spring who used their vouchers on later flights thinking they would be fine now lose out and Ryanair keep their cash,” another added.

BBC Breakfast host forced to cut off Tory MP after awkward blunder: ‘Hope you can hear me’ https://briefnews.eu/bbc-breakfast-host-forced-to-cut-off-tory-mp-after-awkward-blunder-hope-you-can-hear-me/ https://briefnews.eu/bbc-breakfast-host-forced-to-cut-off-tory-mp-after-awkward-blunder-hope-you-can-hear-me/#respond Sun, 01 Nov 2020 09:06:34 +0000 https://briefnews.eu/bbc-breakfast-host-forced-to-cut-off-tory-mp-after-awkward-blunder-hope-you-can-hear-me/

Chris Green MP joined Rachel Burden and Roger Johnson on BBC Breakfast via video link live from his home in Horwich this morning following the news that England is set to enter a month-long lockdown to try and remedy the rising rates of coronavirus cases. Lockdowns are something which hit home for Mr Green, with the politician resigning from his Government post last month following local restrictions implemented in the north of the country. But as he tried to discuss the nationwide rollout of the lockdown, he was promptly interrupted for a distracting mishap.

Johnson kicked off the segment to introduce the MP, as he said: “Obviously, throughout the programme, we’ll be bringing you reaction to this new national lockdown in England.

“It’s due to start on Thursday, a couple of people have said is it Thursday, when on Thursday – it’s one minute past midnight on Thursday morning.”

Burden then weighed in to introduce Mr Green: “Well, we’re joined now by the Conservative MP Chris Green,

“Who resigned from his Government post last month in protest over local lockdown measures there, he joins us now,” the BBC Breakfast host added.

She then quizzed Mr Green: “Do you think the Prime Minister had any other choice given the numbers the scientists were presenting him with?”

Mr Green replied: “Well I think the first thing that the Prime Minister has to do is look at the balance.

“We know COVID has had an impact and COVID is a serious threat that we do have to react against and challenge,

“But, we also have to see the other side as well and the health impact, physical and mental health, of the lockdown is enormous.”

However, clearly irked and not able to hear Mr Green, Burden cut him off and intervened.

“Chris Green, I’m sorry to interrupt,” Burden jumped in. “I hope you can hear me,

“But your sound quality isn’t great and I do just want to ask you another question.

“So I wonder if you can just move a bit closer to your laptop or whatever it is you’re using that would be really helpful so we can hear what you’re saying.”

The politician could be seen edging closer to his camera in the hopes it would improve the quality of the chat.

However, it was to no avail as the interview continued to be derailed by the tech issues.

“We’ll have to leave it there,” Burden said after asking him one final question in, what turned out to be, just a three-minute interview.

Ranvir Singh red-faced as GMB co-stars expose embarrassing Strictly Come Dancing blunder https://briefnews.eu/ranvir-singh-red-faced-as-gmb-co-stars-expose-embarrassing-strictly-come-dancing-blunder/ https://briefnews.eu/ranvir-singh-red-faced-as-gmb-co-stars-expose-embarrassing-strictly-come-dancing-blunder/#respond Mon, 19 Oct 2020 07:12:42 +0000 https://briefnews.eu/ranvir-singh-red-faced-as-gmb-co-stars-expose-embarrassing-strictly-come-dancing-blunder/

Good Morning Britain’s Ranvir found out Giovanni Pernice would be her professional dance partner on Strictly Come Dancing during the launch show, which aired on Saturday evening. The journalist was shown out for a walk with her dog Schmizzles when Giovanni popped up and revealed they’d be dancing together. As they began chatting about her Strictly journey though, Schmizzles was caught up in his lead, and Ranvir’s co-stars couldn’t help but highlight the moment.

Kate and Sean struggled to hide their laughter as Ranvir was shown walking alongside Giovanni while Schmizzles became entangled in his lead.

“That poor dog!” Sean remarked. “I mean that poor dog just got dragged along.”

Kate chipped in: “You’ve got to see it. We’ve got to see it again.”

“I tell you what, we were there for five hours filming,” Ranvir disclosed as a clip of her meeting professional dancer Giovanni was shown.

Earlier in the show, Ranvir hit out at Kate as she claimed she hadn’t been warned how difficult dancing was.

“Can I just say Kate, you never told me how actually painful and hard it is to do the dancing,” Ranvir remarked.

Kate replied: “I think I might have done Ranvir. I might have said you’d have bruises in places you won’t expect.

“You were just so full of glitz and sequins.”

Following the launch night of Strictly, which saw the celebrities take on a group dance for the first time, Ranvir’s odds of winning are currently priced at 33/1 with Ladbrokes.

According to the bookmakers, only former Home Secretary Jacqui Smith is less likely to win with odds of 66/1.

Maisie Smith is currently still the favourite to win with odds of 7/4 while popstar HRVY is close behind with odds of 5/1.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV at 6am.
