Blazing Chrome, the next title from Joymasher, developers of the stunning (…ly gloomy) Odallus: The Dark Call, draws from Contra instead of Castlevania this time, and judging from a new trailer, it continues the developer’s proud tradition of taking classic retro style and making it even better.
Humans are being kept down by robot overlords, but that doesn’t mean that two people with some neat guns and machine helpers can’t overturn the entire robot force, right? Expect to hit the ground running and gunning with some firearms with unique shot types, each of which has useful applications in certain combat situations. Not only that, but you can carry all guns at once. As long as you don’t die. Which I’m sure you’re able to do.
The new trailer shows off a speeder level of blasting robots, runaway trains loaded with mechs, and huge ships aiming to ruin your day. Nothing that a hail of gunfire can’t fix, right? From this trailer, it’s looking like the developers are nailing that Contra formula, maintaining an endless stream of dangers alongside that tension of knowing a single mistake will cost you dearly. Exactly the kind of over-the-top action and pressure you’d want from this kind of game.
For more information on Blazing Chrome and developer Joymasher, you can head to the developer’s site or follow them on Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter.

The I’m A Celebrity…. Get Me Out Of Here! star was left fuming as Wright consistently probed Lee about his marriage.
During his TalkRadio show this weekend, Lee addressed reports that his marriage was in trouble.
In turn, Wright pressed the popular host over this personal life and was met with uproar.
“You’re talking about my private life,” Lee hissed, turning to the camera.
Wright hit back: “Can it be private if you talked about it on your radio show?”
Lee snapped: “I’m so close to telling you to F off and walking off this show right now.”
Wright smirked: “If that’s what you want to do…”
Viewers were floored by the scenes, with one fan posting: “Awkward @Matthew_Wright @5WrightStuff Don’t go on the show if u don’t want be asked personal questions, especially as u have already spoken about it on radio.”
Another followed: “Will be interesting to see if / how Matthew Wright recovers from awkward start with Ian Lee.
“Fascinating TV to see live breakdown between Presenter & Panelist.
“Can you claim privacy when you’ve divulged all on radio broadcast & can a Q be asked too many times? #wrightstuff.”
A third wrote: “Awkward minute or two on #TheWrightStuff Thank God @clairesweeney can talk for England and saved the day. Poor #MatthewWright.”
Other slammed Wright as Lee abandoned the talk show. One viewer fumed: “Matthew_Wright was being he’s usual dog with a bone and kept questioning him about something he’d told producers he didn’t want to talk about #totallackofrespect.”
A second agreed: “Well said @iainlee …you were totally right there! Matthew Wright being an idiot as per.”
Ahead of the live show, Lee appeared to be in high spirits as he posed for a photograph with fellow panelists Claire Sweeney and Daisy McAndrew.
However, show was left in chaos as Iain fled studio with Sweeney and McAndrew left to fill in his boots.
The drama comes after Lee said on his radio show: “My marriage has ended – I’m getting divorced.
“It’s miserable and I feel very weird after Australia. My head’s all over the place.”
Lee has since tweeted: “My mental health is not entertainment. My personal life is not entertainment.
“I am fine. Better than I’ve been for a long time.”
The Wright Stuff airs on Channel 5.

Game of Thrones‘ eighth and final season doesn’t hit the small screen until sometime in 2019, and when it does, it will only consist of six episodes. That means it’ll have the fewest number of episodes of any season of the fantasy series (although each of those episodes could end up being feature-length). Still, a vague release in 2019 is still a long way away, which leaves plenty of time for rabid fans to uncover major spoilers.
And now it looks like a big leak from the new season has arrived, along with another significant spoiler that could change the game entirely. Read on if you’re okay with knowing about some potentially huge Game of Thrones season 8 spoilers a year before the final season debuts.
Here’s one last chance to avoid spoilers. If you’re reading these words through halfway-closed eyes because you’re on the fence about knowing what happens, look away now!
Okay, now that we’re all on the same page, here’s what you need to know. Esquire points us to an article from GoT fan site Watchers on the Wall, who have tracked down a video of one of the show’s most beloved sets being engulfed in flames:
Now we’re just left to speculate. We saw the Night King and an undead Viserion burning down The Wall in the season 7 finale, so has that dangerous duo continued south and turned their flames on Winterfell next? Or could this be the result of a battle between Daenerys and Cersei, with Jon’s adopted home caught in the middle? Or, even juicier, might this be collateral damage in an epic breakup between Jon and Dany? We know Dany can be ruthless – could she be ruthless enough to turn her own flames upon Winterfell if the situation called for it?
There is one more possibility, however unlikely: this might also be one of the fake endings that the series is reportedly planning that are designed to throw people off the scent of the story’s real conclusion. If that’s the case here, that would be incredibly elaborate, but I’m not prepared to say the production team isn’t capable of going to extreme lengths to protect the finale of one of the biggest shows in TV history.
Elsewhere, TVLine has a tantalizing report about a huge pregnancy twist. “The unlikely pregnancy will have more than a few implications, both dramatic and darkly comedic,” they say, and though viewers will immediately make an assumption about the identity of the baby’s father, that assumption may be misguided. The site doesn’t specifically mention that it’s Game of Thrones, but they do describe it as “a wildly popular Emmy-winning series on a premium cable network” that returns in 2019, so it’s almost certainly Game of Thrones.
My first thought went to Dany and Jon’s boat sex at the end of season 7, since the “dramatic and darkly comedic” implications could arise when the two discover that they’re related. And it’d be an “unlikely” pregnancy because Dany is supposed to be barren after the curse put on her by the deceitful Mirri Maz Duur back in season one.
But I almost forgot about Cersei’s reveal that she was pregnant in last year’s finale. That could also be the pregnancy in question here, and if that’s the case, the notion of the father not being who we think it is (read: Jaime) makes me wonder who the hell else Cersei would have been bumping uglies with. Qyburn? The Mountain? What horrors lie in store for us when Game of Thrones returns? I can’t wait to find out.

Newark Airport has been partially evacuated after an underground transformer explosion caused a manhole to shoot flames, causing chaos for passengers.
A dramatic photo shared by Port Authority police shows giganting flames shooting up from the ground. Terminal C-1 wing was evacuated while the rest of the terminal and the airport’s other terminals operated normally.
The blaze started in a manhole below a section of Terminal C at around 11.10pm local time, according to a tweet from the airport. It confirmed there were no injuries and fire crews quickly extinguished the flames.

Power was temporarily cut by utility company PSE&G as they worked to fix the problem, however backup generators supplied power during their repair efforts.
The airport said the power was out for approximately two hours – until about 1.20pm local time. “Some electrical equipment at Terminal C such as elevators, escalators and some processing equipment at TSA checkpoints must be re-started and will be brought back online as quickly as possible.”

Mutants are mucking about, biting people and generally leaving a mess as they tend to do, and adorable birds are having NONE OF THAT in roguelite twin-stick shooter Blazing Beaks, a game that arms fowl with firearms.
One to two people can go through the game’s story mode, each with their own cute bird and unique gun to deal with all kinds of creepy critters and other weird beasts. There’s also plenty of secrets to be found across the game’s maps, so curious mallards may find some neat new tools to deal with their gruesome foes.
If the birds get a little irritated with one another over their journey, they can also stop to shoot each other in the four-player Tournament Mode. Here, they can blast each other in Deathmatch, fight with a single-use spear, deal with random weapons, or scrap with one another across several other modes. All things that cute bird lovers want, right?

Dramatic video footage captured the nerve-shredding moment a man uses his SUV to shunt a flaming car away from fuel pumps at a gas station – potentially saving dozens of lives.
The incident took place on Monday evening at a station north of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia according to news outlet Sabq.
The flaming wreck sits perilously close to the fuel pumps as several people frantically try to put the fire out with little success. Sabq says up to 50 people were in the vicinity of the fire.
The heroic driver, 20-year-old Sultan bin Mohammed al-Hazim al-Rajban, used his powerful vehicle to shove the burning car out of harm’s way until fire crews could attend the scene.
“I was coming out of the mosque following the Maghrib prayers when I saw a large crowd trying to deal with a car on fire next to the petrol pump,” Al-Hazim said.
“It was a dramatic scene with many civilians next to the car and others at the nearby ATM machine.
“I felt a strong urge to make the scene safe for everyone and I did not hold myself back. I got in my car, drove it to the burning vehicle and pushed it away from the pump to avoid the tragedy waiting to happen.”

The wheel of Al-Hazim’s car caught on fire while he carried out the courageous act. A video of the vehicle in the aftermath of the incident shows it blackened from the flames.
“I tried to put out the fire that broke out on the front tires of my vehicle, and thanks to God – I went through the road to another road, and my car only suffered minor damage,” he said.
Gulf News reports that the man was heaped with praise on social media, as many credited him with saving numerous lives.
“It is thanks to people like him who push the limits of courage and sacrifice that we can move forward proudly of what we can do for our nation,” Fahad said.
“He deserves to be honored for saving lives and property. The least that the owner of the gas station should do is to pay for fixing his car and to give him free gas for one year,” a commenter called Motivator added.

The dynamic Good Morning Britain duo have been absent from screens for six week overs the summer holidays, but retuned to a rapturous applause from their loyal followers.
“It’s good to be back, isn’t it,” smiled Piers Morgan, 52, though Susanna Reid, 46, admitted she had her reservations.
“It’s really good to be back,” she beamed. “I wasn’t expecting to say that.”
Piers quipped: “I wasn’t expecting to be back.”
But viewers were delighted by Piers and Susanna’s comeback and flooded Twitter with elated posts.
“Yessssssss!!!! You’re back Happy Monday @GMB,” enthused one audience member, which was followed by: “Hurrah @piersmorgan and @susannareid100 are back on @GMB and Mr Morgan appears to be on form.”
A third cried: “Great to have you both back,” which was followed by: “Great to see you back Piers!”
GMB viewers were divided over Piers and Susanna’s replacements over the past six weeks after Jeremy Kyle, Richard Madeley and veteran Eamonn Holmes filled their boots.
Jeremy’s performance fell flat with most viewers – from the shuffling of his papers to his lacklustre grilling of politicians – while Richard went down a storm with many calling for the former This Morning host to take the reigns full time.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
Westworld season 2 has only been filming for a week, but that didn’t stop HBO’s ambitious science fiction series from bringing a few minutes of footage to Comic-Con 2017. After a panel that was mostly about fun banter amongst the assembled cast and a steadfast refusal to comment on the upcoming second season in the slightest, it all wrapped up with a cryptic teaser and a release year.
As expected, the first trailer reveals that Westworld season 2 will arrive in 2018, but a specific date is not named. Since the first season took a full two years to create, it’s likely that the show will return in the Fall of 2018, headlining the back half of HBO’s year.
While there may not be too much in this trailer, it’s appropriately cryptic and filled with beautiful, awful images that tell us a great deal about where this show is going in its second season.
As you may remember, the first season of Westworld concluded with Evan Rachel Wood’s Dolores achieving consciousness and kickstarting a revolution against the humans who have used and abused the robotic hosts for so long. The finale cut to credits just as the massacre was getting started, but this trailer promises we’ll see a lot more. In the trailer’s best moment, we see Dolores and Teddy (James Marsden) riding down a few hapless Westworld guests, opening fire and taking no prisoners. How often do we get to see a full-fledged robot uprising from the machines’ point of view? And Westworld is crafty enough to have us on their side.
There are other tantalizing images, of course. There’s William, the Man in Black (Ed Harris), still alive after taking an injury in the finale but looking worse for wear. There’s Bernard, looking lost as he stands over the corpse of a tiger (because who knows what else Delos is cooking up in the laboratories?). In one moment that will certainly make you go “Hmm,” we see the head of security Stubbs (Luke Hemsworth) leading a convoy of security vehicles through the park, presumably heading out to put down the uprising. But why is Bernard in his back seat? Has he turned traitor and has decided to join the humans? Or is he going undercover, taking advantage of Stubbs not knowing his true identity?
The Comic-Con panel did not answer these burning questions…but it was certainly amusing to watch Ed Harris simply exist at Comic-Con. Also funny: Jeffrey Wright noting that he visited Reddit to explore fan theories, executive producer and showrunner Lisa Joy revealing that she obeys traffic Laws in Grand Theft Auto, and Ben Barnes claiming that “you won’t know true terror or true joy” until you’ve ridden a horse naked.
But what about season 2? More specifically, what about those robot samurai? Executive producer and showrunner Jonathan Nolan would only say “Doesn’t look like anything to me.” Get comfortable, folks. Westworld season 2 is coming…but it’s still a big mystery box.
Westworld was one of 2016’s most pleasant surprises, an ambitious HBO epic that looks and feels ready to fill Game of Thrones‘ giant shoes as the network’s flagship series. The dense mythology may recall the sprawl of that show, but the complex structure and reliance on fascinating (and frequently troubling) science fiction concepts also makes this the spiritual sibling to shows like Lost. The production of the first season was famously arduous, even shutting down at one point for some serious script retooling. Still, you can’t argue with the results. Let’s enjoy the mystery.

When you’re on a roll like the Calgary Flames have been for the past month, it’s easy to forget there are other teams playing just as well.
The Flames found this out on Wednesday evening when their franchise-record-matching 10-game win streak came to an end with a 5-2 loss to goal-scoring machine Brad Marchand and the Boston Bruins, who have won 12 of their past 15 outings.
Hip Check: Marchand passes Crosby as NHL goal scoring leader0:18
The trick now is for the Flames, who also registered at least a point in 12 consecutive games, not to fall back into a funk. They have endured an up-and-down season, hitting rock bottom in late January with back-to-back road losses in Toronto (4-0) and Montreal (5-1).
After the game against the Canadiens, Flames head coach Glen Gulutzan called his team’s outing “pathetic” — a few times. Since then, Calgary has gone 15-3-1 and a few more wins will lock up a playoff position.
The last time the Flames won 10 in a row was way back in the fall of 1978 when the franchise was still in Atlanta and Bob MacMillan, Guy Chouinard, Eric Vail, Tom Lysiak, Willi Plett and Red Laurence took care of business.
The last time the Flames registered a point in 12 consecutive games was midway through the 1988-89 season.
The 1978-79 Flames were swept 2-0 in the best-of-three preliminary playoff round by the Toronto Maple Leafs. The 1988-89 Flames won the Stanley Cup.
This team? Who knows? It depends on which team shows up.
Calgary struggled out of the gate under Gulutzan with a 5-10-1 start. The special teams were horrible and they continued to play poorly, but backup goalie Chad Johnson saved the season with a remarkable 11-2-0 run that included three shutouts.
The Flames went 19-12-2 from mid-November to mid-January to push themselves back into the playoff picture, but then slumped again. At one time their opposition had scored first in nine consecutive games.
But the Flames turned around their season again in Ottawa in their final game before the all-star break. Calgary squandered a 2-0 lead to the Senators in the third period, only to have Johnny Gaudreau bail his team out with the game-winner late in overtime.
Johnny Gaudreau lifts Flames over Senators in OT1:43
Since then the Flames have grasped Gulutzan’s puck-possession system and piled up the points. They also have been much better on special teams.
The credit needs to be spread around. This is a team that has a strong defence — led by captain Mark Giordano, Dougie Hamilton and T.J. Brodie — and was built with nine draft picks, seven free agents and nine more players through trade.
Gulutzan and his assistants — Dave Cameron, Martin Gelinas, Paul Jerrard and goalie coach Jordan Sigalet — were patient with their players and consistent with their message.
No. 1 goalie Brian Elliott, acquired in a trade last summer by Calgary general manager Brad Treliving, also has been a star. He shook off his rough start and has gone 13-1-1 with a .934 save percentage in his past 15 starts.
Veteran centre Mikael Backlund has been the Flames’ most consistent performer. The 27-year-old Swede has taken care of his ice time in both ends of the rink. He has checked in with a career-high 48 points in 70 games and deserves consideration for the Selke Trophy as one of the game’s top defensive forwards.
The Flames were only the fourth team this season to put together a double-digit win streak. They joined the Columbus Blue Jackets (16-0-0), Minnesota Wild (12-0-0) and Philadelphia Flyers (10-0-0).
As the Flyers have exhibited, a playoff position does not automatically come with such a streak. Now it’s up to the Flames to build on their impressive run, remain consistent and perform in the playoffs with the confidence they have displayed since the all-star break.
