Si King and Dave Meyers shot to fame as the TV duo The Hairy Bikers. Since making their debut on the small screen, the pair fronted an array of TV series, which saw them tour the world and exploring new foods. However, despite their day job being focused on all things edible, last year, the foodie favourites were spotted cutting trimmer figures. The pair lost a mammoth seven stone between them – but they insisted their efforts hadn’t seen them take on any drastic lifestyle changes. Instead, Si, now 51, actually credited a very small and surprising swap as one of his top slimming tricks. Speaking to GoodtoKnow last year, the chef explained he had decided to ditch more unhealthy choices when it came to making his breakfast. Si said: “I don’t have butter on my toast anymore, and I know that Dave doesn’t either, it’s mad isn’t it?” Revealing how he kept his morning routine just as enjoyable, the TV favourite spilled he instead opted for a very different food spread. “I just have Marmite and I really like it,” he told the publication. He said: “I was something like 40 per cent fat, my blood sugar was borderline for Type 2 diabetes and my cholesterol and blood pressure were way too high. “For me it was incremental. I probably put on a stone a decade which I think a lot of people do. Another chef who drastically slimmed down in the past is Antony Worrall Thompson. The Saturday Kitchen and Ready Steady Cook stalwart ditched one type of food which helped slim down by more than a stone during his weight loss journey. Opening up about his trimmer look during an interview with Standard.co.uk back in 2010, the 67-year-old explained he had previously been drinking around 15 cups of sugary tea. But, to get trim, Antony ditched the sweet treat, and instead began drinking a much healthier alternative: mint tea. Dave Myers is one half of the Hairy Bikers duo with Si King, 50. He has achieved an impressive weight loss in the past year. Dave went from 19 stone to less than 15 stone in the past 12 months, he told The Mirror in June. This is an incredible weight loss of over four stone from Dave’s 6ft tall frame. “I am not morbidly obese now. I might feel like a male Adonis if I get to 14st,” he told the publication. Revealing how he managed to drop the weight so quickly, he said: “I always lose weight by cutting all the carbs out. He also used the popular weight loss method of counting calories to drop the weight, as well as cutting out alcohol. “I just calorie count and knock the booze on the head and then watch the scales to see the weight come off.” “Now I’ve been very healthy,” he added. Dave also revealed his waist size was previously 49 inches, in an interview with Irish Times earlier this year. Both Dave and his Hairy Bikers partner Si, whose weight peaked at almost 20 stone, were once dangerously overweight. “We were starting to get old before our time,” he told the publication. “I’m 10 years older than Kingy, but we’d both begun to shuffle, the knees were sore.” The Hairy Bikers’ weight loss of three stone each was documented back in 2012. Their latest book, The Hairy Dieters Make It Easy, details their new diet-friendly recipes. Another example of a chef losing weight is Gordon Ramsay’s weight loss. /life-style/diets/914773/gordon-ramsay-weight-loss Gordon Ramsay, 51, achieved a weight loss of more than four stone after tipping the scales at 18st in 2000. The 6ft 2 British celebrity chef and author of Fit Food now weighs just 13st 10lb. But how did Gordon lose the weight? He is said to have limited a common food group in order to do it. Asked how he dropped the stones, he said: “No milk. Just because it’s sluggish.” “Dropping milk and cheese has made a massive difference,” he said, speaking to the Daily Mail. A viral video has been revealed by the police that shows two bikers nearly cause a dangerous crash on a busy motorway. Filmed on the M6, the bikes can be seen performing wheelies on the hard shoulder, before pulling out in front of cars. One car can be seen braking heavily as they nearly swerve into the front of it. Despite the car keeping a distance, the bike pulls out and wobbles in front, before driving off with the other bikers. The North West Motorway Police tweeted: “Patrol ARE aware of the report of the scrambler bikes on the Motorway. “It really isn’t big or clever and you’re putting not only your own life at risk but that of others. #totallyselfish @MerPolTraffic attending.” User Nicola Richardson tweeted: “Causing mayhem through Ashton!” Another user remarked: “Their behaviour is disgusting. Have you been told to not go near them as they don’t have helmets on?” One user even had their own experience with the dangerous drivers: “I’ve been buzzed by these idiots before and it’s not pleasant, and having one play “dare” doing a wheelie towards me on my side of the road was terrifying.” Scrambler bikes are off-road bikes which are legally allowed to be driven on the road as long as they meet the strict standards. This includes being registered with the DVLA, as well as wearing a helmet and having a license plate. Without this, they are illegally driving on the road and should be reported to the police for breaking the law. Motorcyclists are often caught on camera performing dangerous motorbike stunts and manoeuvres. One man can be seen attempting to stand on his motorbike whilst it is driving. He falls off, yet the motorbike continues to speed off, causing a second crash. My dad had decided that our holidays there would be a chance to see the ‘real Switzerland’, industrial zones, banking hubs, immigrant hostels and all. The wisdom of this decision is up for debate (my mum certainly had an opinion or two on the matter) but I was reminded of these peculiar trips to the other Switzerland as I watched The Hairy Bikers’ Mediterranean Adventure (BBC2). I am a zealous convert to Dave and Si and to see them taking a gastronomic tour of Corsica, an island I’ve grown to love, felt like a treat. The Greeks, first of many seafarers to visit, called the place Kalliste, the most beautiful, and the beauty of the island certainly wasn’t overlooked by the bikers either. It was obvious as well, alongside the guys’ trademark enthusiasm (comparable with a pair of shaggy dogs discovering a muddy wood) that they’d been here before and loved all it had to offer, especially figatellu, its famous liver sausage. If you’d set out, though, to do an hour on Corsica without mentioning most of the edible things it’s famous for, you couldn’t have done much better than Dave and Si did last night. How can you spend all that time noshing the local produce without once mentioning the maquis, the herb-scented scrubland that feeds all the animals, scents the air you breathe as you get off the boat and gave its name to the French Resistance? How can you do an hour on Corsican grub without eating one morsel of wild boar? How can you bang on about the importance of chestnuts without trying one of the island’s various, powerful and complex chestnut beers? How you can you say there’s no seafood, then end your journey in Bastia, the island’s main fishing port and not eat any? Tune in next week to see Dave and Si do Italy, without swallowing a single olive. —————————————————————————— I once stayed in a little village on the Mekong river, whose name translated roughly as Big Jetty. On the opposite bank was another village called Little Jetty, which was odd because its jetty was actually very long and Big Jetty’s jetty was almost non-existent. History and floods just about made sense of things, unlike the Big Cats (BBC1), many of whom are perplexingly little. Their size makes them difficult to film, so the glimpses we got last night of exotic moggies, ranging from the Margay to the webbed-footed Fishing Cat were especially precious. Tell us about your new book… Dave: We wanted to feature Mediterranean dishes, but there are 21 countries and 200 islands, so we picked the western Med, where the food culture is incredible. Over three months we motorcycled in the sun, ate amazing food, did our research for the book and filmed a TV series to accompany it. Si: What we now know as Mediterranean cuisine has developed over the past 4,000 years into this amazing, diverse, fresh and seasonal food – there’s no other food like it. Which are your favourite recipes in the book? Si: Fregola with saffron and seafood. Fregola is a kind of mini pasta in the shape of beads that’s popular in Sardinia. It’s simple to make, but so lovely. Dave: In Southern Italy we learned about “cucina povera” – the poor people’s kitchen – where the ingredients are very simple. We have four or five of those recipes in the book, including pasta in chickpeas. It’s delicious. You spend a lot of time together – do you ever fall out? Si: Not really. We rub along quite nicely. Dave: We’ve been friends for more than 20 years. We’re in a very lucky position. How are you spending Christmas? Dave: I’m doing pantomime this year, so I’ve only got Christmas Day off. My wife’s Romanian and they celebrate on Christmas Eve. I’ve got three performances on Christmas Eve, so I’ll have what I’m given! Si: Christmas Eve is always a big thing in our house. My three boys will be round and my partner and stepson are coming over from Australia. The boys will go off to their mum’s for Christmas lunch and then we’ll all reconvene on Boxing Day. The Hairy Bikers’ Mediterranean Adventure is out now (£25, Seven Dials). The Hairy Bikers Home For Christmas is on Monday on BBC1.

The viral video shows a group of bikers speeding along a track in an arid and hot desert landscape.
The group come along a solitary man walking along a dusty road.
Pulling over to help the man, they soon realise he is lost.
One biker asks the man, who is wearing black shorts and a black t-shirt: “Are you the one they’re looking for?”
The man replies yes before instantly asking for water.
The poor man then collapses on the road, as a motorcyclist jumps off his bike to help him.
Later the man can be seen lying on the ground as he drinks water.
One bikers asks him: “How long have you been out here?”
The man replies he has been lost for two days, to which the rider replies, “No water? Oh jeez. They told us you were missing”
“Have you been walking?” the biker asks.
The man, who seems to be a little delirious from his two days in the desert, replies: “I walked over here, I was all the way over there and then I walked here.”
The missing man was found by bikers in Nevada desert in Clark County, along the Logandale trails.
Another video has gone viral recently, showing a woman in a crowd attempting to catch a ball.
The blonde haired woman was standing up in the crowd observing the game when she suddenly realised the ball was flying in her direction.
Overcome with excitement she gasped and held out her fingers and arms ready to catch it.
She had the perfect angle on the ball, but just inches away from her grasp the unexpected happened.
The BBC show celebrated 50 years of the band on tonight’s instalment by blowing up the actual Algie the pig – who Pink Floyd famously lost in the skies while promoting their album Animals – and sending the chefs to London Polytechnic at Regent Street, where Roger Waters met Nick Mason.
The museum are celebrating the Wish You Were Here hitmakers’ big anniversary and what better way to add to the huge occasion that sending The Hairy Bikers – real names David Myers and Simon ‘Si’ King – to the plaque outside where the band was formed, followed by a cameraman?
Viewers were quick to gush over the much-loved cooking duo’s appearance on the show – which was hosted by Angellica Bell and Matt Baker tonight and also had guest Virginia McKenna sat on the sofa – with one person posting on Twitter: “Nice mid dinner cooking surprise to see @HairyBikers on @BBCTheOneShow at the @UniWestminster @pinkfloyd plaque where the band was formed.”
“@pinkfloyd @rogerwaters @BBCTheOneShow great piece on Animals & Algie the Pig with @HairyBikers,” a second gushed.
Fans of the pair were also thrilled over their new vegetarian cookbook, which they were promoting on the latest episode.
One person posted: “So so so happy that the @HairyBikers have a veggie book out faves!!!!!”
A second added: “I love the hairy bikers!”
While yet another shared: “@HairyBikers so excited about your new book #TheOneShow @theoneshow.”
The One Show continues tomorrow at 7pm on BBC One.
Carried Away is a physics-based puzzle game that lets you build lifts/jumps/bridges that bring out your inner architect, or, sometimes, your devious side to send skiers careening down a low-poly mountain terrain.
You’ll be tasked with creating lifts that are safe and within your budget. Point A to B may seem simple at first, but sometimes that pine tree creeps a little too high and a poor client hits the dirt/snow. You’ll have to be careful of the obstacles, whether they be money or nature.
If you prove proficient enough at transferring people up the lifts, you may want to move to a more difficult challenge in the form of jump construction. Some skiers/bikers may want to catch some air and pop a cool trick! You’ll need to make sure that’s the only thing they pop by constructing safe jumps.
You’ll be able to create your own levels and challenge yourself with a pine-ridden mountain or terrible terrain. This mode lets you dictate just how hard you’d like the game to get, so don’t pull any punches.
Check out Carried Away’s Steam Greenlight page! You can also check out the developer’s Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.

According to Facebook, more than 11,000 people are talking about “bikers for Trump inauguration” at the moment. Some of them are being bolstered by the following fake photo, which was real when posted with the label “Bikers somos Y en el camino rodamos” atop the photo. That translates to “Bikers we are — And on the road we roll,” when it was posted back in November of 2016 in the Twitter tweet below.
Fact Check: Does this photo show a group of bikers on their way to @realDonaldTrump's #inauguration?

As reported by Snopes, the photo below was altered to include the text “On Their Way to D.C. The Trump 45 Inauguration,” with the long line of bikers purportedly headed to Trump’s Inauguration Day festivities. However, the photo was borrowed from previous events, reportedly from an event that was designed to show bikers how to safely travel in large groups. In the wake of buzz about fake news, it’s not the first time that a photo would be taken from one event and has had someone alter the meaning and context of the photo by placing fake text atop the photo.

A search for #BikersForTrump on Twitter turns up a bunch of photos being shared of large crowds of bikers supposedly heading to Trump’s Inauguration Day activities. However, according to BuzzFeed, most of these photos of bikers are being used as scams. The publication has traced the roots of the photos of groups of bikers that some folks are trying to pass off as photos of bikers headed to see Trump get sworn in as the 45th president of the U.S.
People Are Sharing Fake Pictures Of Bikers For Trump Heading To The Inauguration. https://t.co/3aMB0w4qi6
— Jim Roberts (@nycjim) January 18, 2017
Perhaps many of these fake photos of bikers — or rather, real photos and videos of bikers being repurposed with fake Trump Inauguration Day headlines — were inspired by Trump’s tweet on Tuesday. As seen below Trump tweeted that “Bikers for Trump” were on their way to the Inauguration Day activities, and before long, a bunch of “Bikers for Trump” photos and videos began spreading online. Within about eight hours of being published online, Snopes‘ article that called out one of those “Bikers for Trump” photos as fake was shared more than 1,400 times on social media.
People are pouring into Washington in record numbers. Bikers for Trump are on their way. It will be a great Thursday, Friday and Saturday!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) January 17, 2017
It’s not just everyday social media users who are sharing the fake photos. Katie Hopkins, a columnist who enjoys 673,000 followers on Twitter, posted the fake biker photo with a description that read, “Go you good things #BikersForTrump – helping Make America Great Again *packs leathers & vaseline*.” That tweet alone received 745 likes on Twitter.
With so much talk about the “Bikers for Trump” potentially forming a “Wall of Meat” — presumably the wall of bikers’ bodies — to protect Trump during the Inauguration Day activities, lots of fake photos and videos are also floating around, being pulled from previous years, but containing captions that make it seem as if they are current photos of bikers. Certain photos might instead display “Bikers for Trump” events called a “rally and ride” for Trump, but they may have been taken when Trump was still Republican presidential candidate Trump — back on July 18, 2016, in Cleveland — and not during inauguration week. The photos taken during the first day of the Republican convention might be easier to distinguish, based on location markers and the clothing being worn in the photos. The featured photo above shows Trump preparing to shake the hand of a supporter and bikers in Washington on May 29, 2016.
Not everyone is fooled by all the “Bikers for Trump” photos being spread around Twitter and Facebook. Instead, some people are using the #BikersForTrump hashtag to post funny photos of bikers that don’t represent huge troops of bikers coming to see Trump sworn in as the new president.
