A preview for tomorrow night’s Love Island episode aired at the end of tonight’s instalment of the ITV programme.

In the clip, Belle was seen throwing a drink over Molly-Mae during the headlines challenge.

Molly-Mae looked less than impressed as she reeled from the moment as Belle looked to be laughing.

Some viewers think Belle could be retaliating after learning about comments Molly-Mae made last week about Anton and Belle’s relationship.

The pair suffered a huge falling out before quickly reconciling which led Molly-Mae to question whether their relationship was genuine.

“OMFG YES BELLE CHUCKING A DRINK AT MOLLY! 100% FOR THAT COMMENT ABOUT HER AND ANTON BEING FAKE WOOOHOOOOO FINALLY SOME GOOD F****N ACTION #loveisland,” one fan tweeted.

Another guessed: “I reckon belle found out molly was slagging off her and Antons relationship, girls find out everything #loveisland.”

“Belle throwing water over molly mae is definitely about when she said it was weird they made up so quickly after that fight #LoveIsland,” a third mused.

“Belle deffo found out about mollys sly comments #loveisland,” a fourth asserted.

However, other viewers pointed out that it could well be part of the challenge.

“Part of the game they’re doing,” one viewer stated.

A second shared: “No I want to know why belle threw the water in molly’s face????! It seems like a challenge but she looked p*****d #loveisland.”

“But it looked like a challenge for belle to throw the water at molly?! #loveisland,” a third questioned.

While a fourth commented: “Belle dashing a drink in Molly Mae’s face was defo part of a challenge but her reaction spun me looool #LoveIsland.”

“Everyone wondering why Belle throws water at Molly knowing it’s a challenge they do every year to throw water in the face who they think the tweets about #LoveIsland,” a fifth added.

Viewers will have to wait until tomorrow to find out what really unfolds between the two blonde bombshells.

Tonight’s instalment saw Michael Griffiths and Francesca Allen booted from the Islander after falling into the bottom three couples following viewers voting for their favourite couple.

Michael and Francesca were joined in the bottom by Jordan Hames and Anna Vakili as well as Chris Taylor and Harley Brash.

The top couples had to pick who they wanted to stay with all pairs voting for Anna and Jordan apart from Ovie Soko and India Reynolds who went for Chris and Harley.

Love Island continues tomorrow at 9pm on ITV2.

Emmerdale spoilers: Lachlan White revenge plan against Belle Dingle revealed? https://briefnews.eu/emmerdale-spoilers-lachlan-white-revenge-plan-against-belle-dingle-revealed/ https://briefnews.eu/emmerdale-spoilers-lachlan-white-revenge-plan-against-belle-dingle-revealed/#respond Wed, 02 Jan 2019 22:04:35 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/emmerdale-spoilers-lachlan-white-revenge-plan-against-belle-dingle-revealed/

Belle Dingle (played by Eden Taylor-Draper) only returned to Emmerdale just before Christmas – finally beginning to heal after a harrowing experience with her ex-boyfriend Lachlan (Thomas Atkinson).

Yet just as soon as she arrived back in the Yorkshire Dales after some much-needed time with her mother Lisa Dingle (Jane Cox), strange things started to occur on the ITV soap.

For one thing, Christmas Day should have been a happy affair as the entire Dingle clan celebrated Marlon (Mark Charnock) and his new wife Jessie Grant’s (Sandra Marvin) nuptials.

But when Belle, Lydia (Karen Blick) and Sam Dingle (James Hooton) return home from the festivities, they come back to a ransacked Wishing Well cottage.

The group are confused by the scenes in front of them, but Belle seems even more perturbed by what’s taken place.

Even when the police are called to the cottage, Belle appears to be hiding something, which left viewers wondering if the burglar was actually Lachlan having escaped from prison.

Since that night, the villagers haven’t received any news of the murderer’s escape, so theories now abound over whether Lachlan is working with someone on the outside.

If that’s the case, the former brewery-owner could be hell-bent on tormenting his ex for giving up on him and helping to get him put away for life.

The creepy storyline continues to simmer as Belle received a mystery text during her New Year’s Eve party at the local cafe.

The message simply wished Belle well for the new year, but at the end it signed off by saying “I miss you”.

Belle didn’t seem surprised by the text, leading some to believe she had already predicted Lachlan was using someone on the outside to rattle her.

Now a source at the Metro has claimed Belle is set to get involved with her ex-boyfriend’s latest plot over the next few weeks – with Lachlan eventually coming back to the village.

The insider said: “Belle doesn’t believe Lachlan’s act of repentance for one minute.

“But how far is he prepared to go? And how much danger are the Dingles in?”

Whatever comes next, it’s clear viewers are in for another rollercoaster ride – could Lachlan’s aunt Rebecca White (Emily Head) even be returning to the village?

Elsewhere on the soap, Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) has been determined to keep his secret about Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) for fear of destroying his relationship with his daughter Debbie Dingle (Charley Webb).

“Cain has been living with this guilt – but there’s only so much a man who thinks he murdered the man his daughter loves can take,” the insider continued. “As Debbie still refuses to give up on finding out what happened to Joe, Cain is backed into a corner.

“But as Debbie learns the awful truth – or what Cain thinks is the truth – it could destroy their relationship forever.

“It will be very messy, but the scenes will be unmissable,” the source added.

Emmerdale continues tomorrow at 7pm on ITV.

Emmerdale spoilers: Belle Dingle hiding Lachlan White secret as burglar twist exposed? https://briefnews.eu/emmerdale-spoilers-belle-dingle-hiding-lachlan-white-secret-as-burglar-twist-exposed/ https://briefnews.eu/emmerdale-spoilers-belle-dingle-hiding-lachlan-white-secret-as-burglar-twist-exposed/#respond Wed, 26 Dec 2018 20:23:54 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/emmerdale-spoilers-belle-dingle-hiding-lachlan-white-secret-as-burglar-twist-exposed/

Belle (played by Eden Taylor-Draper) left the village after her boyfriend Lachlan White (Thomas Atkinson) was revealed as a serial killer on Emmerdale.

The harrowing storyline saw Belle beaten and terrified of the twisted teenager as she fought to get away from him in the major woods climax, ultimately ending up with the police taking Lachlan to prison.

Belle was run over as a result, and in the weeks and months after her ordeal on the ITV soap, she struggled to move on from the awful events.

This week the promising A-Level graduate finally returned to the Yorkshire Dales after some much-needed time away with her mother Lisa Dingle (Jane Cox), but her peace was shortlived.

Last night’s wedding between Jessie Grant (Sandra Marvin) and Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) culminated in the return of her troublemaker son Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle), who was released from prison early.

But while Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) was angry to see his bully in the flesh once more, someone had broken in and ransacked the Dingles’ country cottage.

Belle, Lydia (Karen Blick), Sam Dingle (James Hooton) and young Samson all returned home from the wedding together to see their cottage destroyed, but in a confusing twist it didn’t appear as though the burglar had actually burgled anything.

And as the foursome explained their situation to the local police, something wasn’t quite right.

Belle’s creased brow clearly showed something was up, and if she doesn’t know what’s happened she might suspect it was something to do with her ex-boyfriend Lachlan.

Fans then fleshed out the theory, with one person even suggesting Lachlan had hired someone from inside to go and break in for a specific item.

Taking to Twitter, viewers discussed the possibility.

“@danielroxheaps Possibly Lachlan’s doing (since he is due back soon!) #Emmerdale #BoxingDay,” one person suggested.

Another wrote: “I’m thinking Lachlan trashed Wishing Well cottage or more likely he had someone do it for him. I would think someone would be alerted if Lachlan himself got out. #Emmerdale.”

“Whoever broke in must have been looking for something specific to not take anything, but what? #Emmerdale,” a third queried.

While a fourth simply asked: “Who trashed the Dingle’s house? Lachlan? #Emmerdale.”

“Bob is definitely the burglar #Emmerdale,” a fifth then added.

Elsewhere in the village, Aaron finally started to confide in his husband Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) about Billy.

“Billy – he was evil, they all were,” Aaron said with a shiver. “There was a gang of them…”

“Jason’s lot,” Robert pressed, as Aaron struggled to recall the memories.

“Billy kept himself in the background most of the time, didn’t want to get in trouble I suppose. But he was still part of it. Just had this way of staying under the radar, but he’d never let up.

“He had this look to make you hate yourself.”

Robert tried to get Aaron to tell someone, but the scrap yard worker was convinced no one would believe him. Will anyone listen?

Emmerdale continues tomorrow at 7pm on ITV.

Last flight of the belle of bombers https://briefnews.eu/last-flight-of-the-belle-of-bombers/ https://briefnews.eu/last-flight-of-the-belle-of-bombers/#respond Sun, 29 Jul 2018 07:24:57 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/last-flight-of-the-belle-of-bombers/

By her own count, she ferried more than 1,000 Spitfires and Wellington and Lancaster bombers from the factories where they were made and RAF bases around Britain. But now a new documentary, which contains the last-ever interviews with Mary, has revealed how she was reunited with one particularly significant Spitfire shortly before her death. The plane wasn’t covered in glory.

In fact, by the time it finally reached its new base in Australia, atomic bombs had been dropped on Japan and its forces had surrendered. The plane was effectively mothballed. But it was the only one to have Mary’s signature – a “romantic gesture” from a popular and vivacious bon vivant hoping to snag a brave and handsome RAF pilot. Interviewed over several months for the documentary Spitfire, Mary described her impetuous act.

“I flew about 1,000 aeroplanes during the war and that Spitfire was the only one I signed. The only one,” she said. “I suppose it was a romantic mood. I was thinking some handsome RAF chap might be fighting, you know, and suddenly see my name and contact me. It never happened.” As chance would have it, it was that particular aircraft that directors David Fairhead and Anthony Palmer came across when filming in 2016. “We had already interviewed Mary because we felt it was important to include the role of women in the Spitfire story,” said David. “After we spoke to her, we were looking for working Spitfires so we could film aerial shots. A collector told us of a Mark VIII in Germany.

We didn’t really want a Mark VIII. It wasn’t one of the variants, like the Mark V or IX, that had seen significant action. But then he mentioned that it was signed. “The penny dropped. I mean, what were the odds? It changed everything. We knew we had to reunite Mary with that aircraft.” Mary had flown the Mark VIII from its factory in Southampton to RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire. There, it was packed into crates and shipped to Australia.

“It never saw action and after the war languished in a shed for years,” said David. “It was only the 1969 movie The Battle Of Britain that saw an increased interest in these planes and there were only nine known to be flying that year.” The Mark VIII was found in its shed by collector Rob Lamplough. Eventually, it was bought by Argentinian Anglophile Maxi Gainza, who keeps it in Germany. “Maxi agreed to fly it to the Isle of Wight, where Mary lived,” said David. Mary was reunited with the plane at Sandown Airport. This was significant in itself.

In 1950, Mary became Europe’s first female air commandant when she was elected to manage Sandown, a job she held for 20 years. Those who knew her were not surprised to see her break barriers… Born to a farming family in Leafield, Oxfordshire, in 1917, Mary Wilkins showed an interest in flying as a pre-schooler. Then her father paid a flying circus to take her on a pleasure flight in a de Havilland DH.60 Moth in 1925. “I think that sealed my fate for ever,” she admitted.

As a teenager she paid for flying lessons at Witney airfield and soon gained her licence. Two years after war broke out, Mary heard a recruitment advert for the Air Transport Auxiliary and realised she had the qualifications. The role was incredibly demanding. Mary could deliver four aircraft a day to desperate RAF bases and would be on duty for 13 days before a two-day break. She played a key role in the ATA but the concept of female pilots was not always welcomed… Aeroplane magazine fumed in a 1940 editorial: “Women anxious to serve their country should take on work more befi tting their sex instead of encroaching on a man’s occupation.”

Another editorial wrote: “The menace is the woman who thinks that she ought to be flying in a high-speed bomber when she really has not the intelligence to scrub the floor of a hospital properly.” Mary recalled: “Girls flying aeroplanes was almost a sin at that time.” And, though she was readily accepted by the ATA, others remained incredulous. She recounted the time when staff at one RAF base refused to believe she had piloted the large Wellington bomber that had just landed. “They actually went inside the aeroplane and searched it,” she recalled.

“Everybody was flabbergasted that a little girl like me could fly these big aeroplanes all by oneself.” But it was the Spitfire that stole her heart… Recalling her first flight, she said: “I’m sure my heart was beating hundreds to the dozen.

I got in the aircraft and the chappie said, ‘How many of these have you flown, Miss?’ “And I said, ‘I haven’t flown one at all yet, this is the first one’. And he promptly fell off the aeroplane! I started the aeroplane, taxied out. Fortunately I made the perfect take off. Up in the air I thought: ‘I’m here’ .

“The Spitfire was just like a dancing fairy. It was gorgeous, absolutely wonderful.” It wasn’t always safe, however… “We had no radio at any time, no aids whatsoever. There were also the hazards of the bad weather and the barrage balloons which would pop up. People did get killed.” After the war, Mary flew with the RAF, moved to the Isle of Wight and took up her appointment at Sandown Airport.

She married fellow pilot Don Ellis in 1961 and continued to live in the marital home at Sandown after his death in 2009. In recent years she was a hugely popular figure at aviation shows and memorial events and attended the premiere of the Spitfire documentary just three weeks ago where she received a standing ovation.

David Fairhead said: “Like a lot of older people, she had a strong character because she had lived through so much. She was robust, smart and had an incredible sense of humour. But she was also very modest. She couldn’t quite get over seeing herself on the big screen.”

Since the premiere, two other Spitfire veterans have also died. Geoffrey Wellum, who was 18 when he joined the RAF in 1939, died on July 18 aged 96. And Battle of Britain pilot Tom Neil died on July 11 aged 97.

David said: “When Ant and I had the idea to make the documentary, we knew time was against us. We had to interview as many veterans as we could. Sadly, of the 12 we filmed, only three are still alive.”

He added: “There was a kind of steel to people like Mary. People of her generation were asked to do something and they did it and they did it well without complaining. They got on with it because it needed to be done. “It’s easy to wonder whether we’ll ever see their like again.”

‘Beauty and the Beast’ Live Concert Casts Zooey Deschanel as Belle https://briefnews.eu/beauty-and-the-beast-live-concert-casts-zooey-deschanel-as-belle/ https://briefnews.eu/beauty-and-the-beast-live-concert-casts-zooey-deschanel-as-belle/#respond Wed, 14 Mar 2018 07:36:16 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/beauty-and-the-beast-live-concert-casts-zooey-deschanel-as-belle/ Beauty and the Beast Live Concert

Disney’s live-action adaptation of its animated classic Beauty and the Beast was a huge hit last year, but it didn’t satisfy all the fans out there. Some were particularly disappointed with the obviously enhanced vocal work of Harry Potter franchise star Emma Watson when singing as the charming, sharp, bookworm villager Belle. But they might be more satisfied with the latest casting of Belle in an upcoming Beauty and the Beast live concert production coming to The Hollywood Bowl this spring.

Following previous live concert renditions of The Nightmare Before Christmas and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, the Beauty and the Beast live concert features an all-star cast that will be led by (500) Days of Summer and New Girl star Zooey Deschanel. And if that wasn’t intriguing enough, the rest of the cast features an interesting assembly of talent as well.

The Beauty and the Beast live concert will happen on May 25 and May 26 this year at The Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. Joining Zooey Deschanel as Belle will be Anthony Evans (Caged No More), who may not be a well-known talent. But the other supporting cast members you’ll certainly recognize.

The roles of Gaston and LeFou have been mixed up a bit. Taye Diggs is playing the muscular hunk who pines for Belle while Rebel Wilson is playing a gender-swapped version of his bumbling sidekick. That sounds like an odd pairing, though individually those roles sound intriguing.

Meanwhile, the Beast’s caretakers-turned-household-items will include Kelsey Grammer playing Lumiere (though no one has been set to play his clock counterpart Cogsworth, but that’s likely because he doesn’t have a big musical number). As for the role of Mrs. Potts, responsible for singing the famous title song, that’s going to 30 Rock and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt star Jane Krakowski.

Event director Richard Kraft says the Beauty and the Beast live concert is “mixing film, live music, singers, dancers, digital projections, effects, and special guest artists to create an event that pays homage to the original movie but also delivers something that can only be experienced live.” That includes conductor Michael Kosarin leading the full orchestra and choir performing the film’s full score. The event also includes a live performance of the 1948 Disney short film Bumble Boogie performed by 16-year old pianist Emily Bear. So this won’t just be a simple sing-a-long concert.

Tickets go on sale starting Friday, March 16 at 10am PT. Here’s the event poster for you to peruse:

Emmerdale spoilers: Is Liv Flaherty asexual as she makes HUGE confession to Belle Dingle? https://briefnews.eu/emmerdale-spoilers-is-liv-flaherty-asexual-as-she-makes-huge-confession-to-belle-dingle/ https://briefnews.eu/emmerdale-spoilers-is-liv-flaherty-asexual-as-she-makes-huge-confession-to-belle-dingle/#respond Fri, 13 Oct 2017 04:50:56 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/emmerdale-spoilers-is-liv-flaherty-asexual-as-she-makes-huge-confession-to-belle-dingle/

The youngster (played by Isobel Steele) opened up to Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) and admitted she didn’t have any sexual feelings for girls or boys.

After getting drunk with Gerry Roberts (Shaun Thomas) and being sick the previous night, Belle interrogated her on what had happened.

Liv went on to reveal she had tried to kiss Gerry after Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) teased her about not fancying any boys.

She said: “It’s because I’m such a try hard. Gabby was going on at me about not being into boys and I just wanted to kiss Gerry to prove her wrong. That’s it, I swear.”

As Belle asked her if she liked Gerry, the schoolgirl admitted: “I wish I fancied him it would be a lot easier. I’m not that into guys.”

Belle assumed her confession meant she was into girls, but Liv was adamant that isn’t the case.

She added: “No that’s not it. I don’t like anyone at all. I know it’s weird, everyone has feelings for someone. I have nothing.”

After the episode, fans flocked to Twitter to speculate whether Liv was asexual – someone who does not experience sexual attraction – and many were excited at the prospect of the storyline.

One viewer wrote: “Really hope Liv’s storyline in #Emmerdale is going where I think it is – we need more #Asexual characters on TV…”

Another person said: “Asexual Liv Flaherty I have been saying this for months!!!! #Emmerdale.”

“This asexual storyline with Liv has the potential to be awesome, I really hope #Emmerdale treat it with care and respect,” said a third viewer.

Emmerdale continues tonight on ITV at 7pm.

GLOW Season 1 Finale Recap: With Liberty Belle and Justice for All? https://briefnews.eu/glow-season-1-finale-recap-with-liberty-belle-and-justice-for-all/ https://briefnews.eu/glow-season-1-finale-recap-with-liberty-belle-and-justice-for-all/#respond Sun, 25 Jun 2017 23:45:05 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/glow-season-1-finale-recap-with-liberty-belle-and-justice-for-all/

Warning: The following recap contains spoilers from the Season 1 finale of Netflix’s GLOW. Proceed at your own risk.

Nothing can prepare the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling for what they’re about to endure as GLOW ‘s first season enters the main event.

As production on their pilot commences, Sam is nowhere to be found, forcing Ruth to play producer and Bash to step into the role of host. What’s more, low turnout forces Tammé, Melrose and Sheila to pay nearby moviegoers to come fill the seats. Later on, Rhonda takes a beer bottle to the head after a rude seat filler throws a cold one at Arthie’s “Beirut the Mad Bomber” and misses.

All of that may seem bad, but none of it can compare to what Sam and Debbie are going through in “Money’s In the Chase.” Let’s recap, shall we?

DADDY ISSUES | Sam arrives at the motel, just as the ladies are loading up Melrose’s limo. He reeks of alcohol after a days-long binge, and informs Ruth that Justine is his daughter. Per Ruth’s advice, Sam makes his way over to Justine’s room to try and talk things out. Unfortunately, she’s not there.

Sam manages to find Justine at Billy’s house, where he apologizes for trying to have sex with her. (In his defense, Justine’s decision to follow him around like some “crazed fangirl,” rather than just come forward and admit why she auditioned for his show in the first place, probably wasn’t the best idea.) Before he leaves, Sam — in his own very Sam way — tells Justine that he thinks they should be in each other’s lives: “It can only get better from here, I think… I hope.” She eventually turns up at the ballroom, where she joins Sam on the balcony to watch the wrestling match.

IT’S NOT SILLY TO HER | Debbie backs out of the pilot at the last minute in an effort to save her marriage. As a result, Ruth is forced to come up with an alternate final match alongside Jenny, Dawn and Stacey. Debbie still attends the taping with Mark. That’s where Sam tracks her down and tells her that she’s a quitter. Coupled with Mark’s decision to belittle the entire project and call it “silly,” Debbie is inspired to interrupt the taping, at which point she reveals herself to be Liberty Belle and joins Ruth’s Zoya the Destroya in the ring.

Liberty Belle defeats Zoya as planned, earning the GLOW crown and the adoration of the audience. For Sam, it’s the response she elicits that helps him realize that this is more than just a pilot, but a franchise in the making. With that in mind, he makes a last minute storyline change, sending the Welfare Queen back into the ring to take down Liberty Belle and steal her crown.

At the end of the match, Ruth asks Debbie if she’d like to go out for a drink, but Debbie still isn’t ready to be friendly with the woman who slept with her husband. “We’re not there yet,” she says, leaving the door somewhat open for reconciliation in a hypothetical Season 2. As for the other thread left hanging at the end of Season 1: Glen informs Cherry that she got the lead role in the station’s cop drama, but accepting the part would force her to leave GLOW behind. Keith wants her to take the job, but it’s clear she’s having doubts.

The Indianapolis 500 might be the belle of the ball for the IndyCar series, but the Detroit Grand Prix is the belle of its isle. As in, it takes place the week after the 500 at the Raceway at Belle Isle Park, a 2.35-mile temporary street circuit built by erecting concrete barriers alongside roads on the 982-acre, city-owned island park in the Detroit River. Before the checkered flag waves this weekend, we got an up close and personal look at the track with a couple of hot laps.

–

If you were expecting the hot laps to be done in a Corvette or a Camaro, you wouldn’t be alone, but race sponsor Chevrolet opted for its SS sedan in its last year on sale. There were a lot of media representatives requesting rides, so the Cadillac ATS-V was also pressed into service to handle the load (yes, there were some back-seat passengers). The SS we rode in has plenty of Chevy high-performance blood running through it to make for a thrilling ride.

After we signed a waiver and were fitted with a head sock, a helmet, and a HANS safety device, there was the choice among five different IndyCar drivers. Last year’s IndyCar champion, Simon Pagenaud, drew the biggest crowd, but Carlos Muñoz was our driver in the video below, and, Spencer Pigot, Christian Fittipaldi, and João Barbosa were just as worthy.

Even from the passenger seat, riding in a 415-horsepower, V-8–powered, rear-wheel-driven sedan squeezed between two barrier walls with one of the best drivers in the world behind the wheel was a hoot. Chevrolet would not let the drivers turn off the stability control, but the tail still ran wide on a couple of occasions. Check out the action from inside and atop the car below, and study the 13 turns before watching the Detroit Grand Prix, which consists of two 70-lap races, one each on June 3 and 4. Supporting events include races in the Trans Am, IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar, and Speed Energy Stadium Super Truck championships, keeping the track busy all weekend.
