Need to catch up? Read our previous Riverdale recap here. Uh-oh, avert your eyes, “Bughead” and “Varchie” loyalists: Archie and Betty looked to take their forbidden romance to the next level this week on Riverdale. Betty, F.P. and Alice get a look at that creepy video of a guy in a Jughead mask getting his head smashed in. Whoever made that video, they clearly know what happened to Jughead in the woods, and Charles offers to lend him a hand combing through footage — but Betty isn’t ready to get involved in another mystery. She’d rather leaf through her old diaries about her childhood crush on Archie, while Archie is still thinking about that kiss they had. With Jughead and Veronica both busy, Betty and Archie lie in bed together (!) down in the bunker; they both love who they’re with, they insist, but still, “this is nice, right?” Archie asks, as they hold hands (!!). Charles finds an incriminating videotape in a sweep of the Muggs household: the sex tape of Betty and Jughead at Stonewall! She says she got it from a black-market swap in the back of the video store called the “Scarlet Suite,” and when Jughead and the feds search it, they also find… a snuff film of Cliff Blossom killing his son Jason. The video store shuts the private room down, which disappoints one regular customer: Principal Honey! Meanwhile, back in “Barchie” land, Betty admits her conflicted feelings to Cheryl, but Cheryl reminds her that she and Jughead are the real thing — even “endgame, I dare say.” In the bunker, Archie starts to play Betty a song he wrote for her (aw!), but she cuts him off mid-song, saying they can’t go through with this. She chalks all this up to the anxiety they’re feeling about their uncertain future, but she firmly puts an end to it: “Whatever this is, or was… it’s just over.” That inspires Archie to tell his mom he’s ready to apply to the Naval Academy, while Betty “exorcises [her] demons” by tossing her old diaries into a roaring fire. (Alice convinces her to keep one of them, though.) Betty reunites with Jughead and agrees to help solve the videotape mystery, just in time for Cheryl to get an unsettling delivery: a video of a guy in a Jason Blossom mask taking a bullet to the head. Got thoughts on tonight’s Riverdale? Grab a booth in the comments below. RELATED STORIES
Jughead spots a familiar face on surveillance video and confronts Ethel Muggs — oh, hi Ethel, it’s been a while! — thinking she made the Jughead mask video. She denies any involvement, but a trip to a local video store reveals that Ethel rented Friday the 13th a bunch of times, so she clearly has murder on her mind. (She’s also president of the school’s AV club, so she has access to lots of video equipment.) Meanwhile, Archie visits Fred’s grave looking for advice, and Betty reads in her diaries about when Archie “proposed” to her as a kid — and she told him to propose again when they’re 18. (Hmmm.) At school, Archie confesses to her, “I can’t stop thinking about you,” and she can’t stop thinking about him, either, so they make a date to meet at the bunker the next night.
Elsewhere in “Lynchian”: Kevin and Fangs brought Reggie into their tickling video side hustle, and Reggie convinced them to strike out on their own, which led to them getting ratted out to Principal Honey; Veronica cooked up a budget-friendly version of her rum for college students called “Maple Claw” (ha!) and faced threats from angry moonshiners, and Hiram got beat to a bloody pulp trying to protect her, so he went back and murdered the head moonshiner; Cheryl asked out of the rum business (can’t blame her); Kevin and Fangs made plans to date once they’re in college; and wait: Betty is in charge of the school yearbook, on top of everything else?!

HEART attack symptoms include chest pain, headaches and dizziness. But you could also be at risk of a deadly myocardial infarction if you have this one sign while lying asleep in bed.![]()
Heart attacks are a medical emergency that require immediate treatment, according to the NHS.
The condition, which is also known as a myocardial infarction, is caused by the heart’s blood supply becoming blocked.
Excessive snoring may be a warning sign of poor heart health, scientists have claimed.
The snoring could cause the walls of carotid arteries – the arteries linking the heart to the brain – to become thicker.
The vibration of snoring could be the cause of the thickened arteries, revealed researcher Dr Robert Deeb.
“We had a hunch that snoring was more of a medical condition than a social nuisance or cosmetic issue, as it is more commonly thought,” Deeb told charity Go Red For Women.
“We think the thickening happens because the arteries are reacting to the vibration of the snoring.
“Part of the carotid arteries are very close to the throat, only a few centimetres separate them, so it makes sense that the vibration would affect them.
“We do know that thickening of arteries can be the first sign of an increased risk of stroke and arteriosclerosis [hardening of arteries], two conditions that can affect the heart.”
Snoring could be a sign of sleep apnoea – a condition that leads to brief, repeated pauses in breathing throughout the night.
Sleep apnoea is itself a risk factor for high blood pressure, revealed Harvard Medical School.
Drowsiness, morning headaches or subtle mood changes may also be signs of sleep apnoea.
Speak to a GP if you suffer from persistent snoring, said Deeb. There’s no harm, and it could reveal your risk of a deadly heart attack.
It’s reasonable to think that eliminating sleep apnoea – and therefore snoring – could also lower the risk of cardiovascular disease, it added.
A sleep apnoea mask may help to reduce signs of the condition, by pumping air into the airways to keep them open at night.
Alternatively, simply try rolling over while lying in bed, it added.
“Some people have apnea that only occurs when they’re on their back. If you know that’s the case, staying off your back can be an effective treatment,” it said.
Other heart attack symptoms include chest pain, feeling short of breath, sudden dizziness, or abdominal pain.
If you want to lower your risk of a heart attack, the best thing to do is to make lifestyle changes, said the NHS.
Having an unhealthy diet could lead to a hardening of the arteries.
High blood pressure is a risk factor for heart attacks. Every adult over 40 years old should check their blood pressure at least every five years.
The body needs enough sleep to help it function properly, according to the NHS.
Not getting enough sleep is bad for your health; mentally and physically.
Regular poor sleep increases your risk of obesity, heart disease and diabetes.
You’re also more likely to develop depression and anxiety if you don’t get enough rest.
But, you could get a better night’s rest by adding these five food and drinks to your bedtime diet.
Eating kiwi fruit before bed could help you to fall asleep, and wake up feeling refreshed, according to Dr Brianna Elliott.
Snack on two kiwis before getting into bed, as you could fall asleep 42 per cent faster, she said.
“The sleep-promoting effects of kiwis are thought to be due to their content of serotonin, a brain chemical that helps regulate your sleep cycle,” said Elliott.
“It has also been suggested that the antioxidants in kiwis, such as vitamin C and carotenoids, may be partly responsible for their sleep-promoting effects. This is thought to be due to their role in reducing inflammation.”
Almonds are a great source of magnesium.
Magnesium could promote sleep by reducing inflammation, and reducing levels of the stress hormone cortisol.
“If you want to eat almonds before bed to determine if they impact your sleep quality, a one ounce [28g] serving, or about a handful, should be adequate,” said Elliott.
“Chamomile tea is a popular herbal tea that may offer a variety of health benefits,” she said.
“Specifically, chamomile tea contains apigenin, an antioxidant that binds to certain receptors in your brain that may promote sleepiness and reduce insomnia.”
Drinking chamomile tea for two weeks before bed could improve your sleep quality.
White rice has a high glycaemic index, which means it takes longer for the body to break it down into sugar.
High glycaemic index foods could improve your sleep quality.
Try eating white rice an hour before bedtime to get a better night’s sleep.
“Despite the potential role that eating white rice may have in promoting sleep, it is best consumed in moderation due to its lack of fibre and nutrients,” said Elliot.
“Tart cherry juice is also known to promote sleepiness, and it has even been studied for its role in relieving insomnia,” she said.
“For these reasons, drinking tart cherry juice before bed may improve your sleep quality.
“The sleep-promoting effects of tart cherry juice are due to its high content of melatonin, which is a hormone that regulates your internal clock and signals your body to prepare for sleep.”
Fatty fish includes salmon, tuna, trout and mackerel.
They’re all rich in vitamin D, as well as omega-3 fatty acids.
The combination of both vitamin D and omega-3s could enhance sleep quality, said Elliott.
The nutrients help to increase the production of serotonin, which is a sleep-promoting brain chemical.
Adult Swim
It is no exaggeration to say that the comedy duo of Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim has produced some of the most gut-wrenchingly funny and disturbing television in the history of the medium.
After meeting in film school at Temple University in the ’90s, Tim and Eric found a home at Adult Swim in the mid 2000s, where they released a string of innovative, 11-minute shows, including the animated “Tom Goes to the Mayor” and the absurdist sketch comedy “Tim and Eric’s Awesome Show, Great Job!”
In the first season of their latest show, “Tim & Eric’s Bedtime Stories,” the pair crafted ten diverse and darkly hilarious short films. One episode featured Bob Odenkirk (“Better Call Saul”) as a doctor specializing in toe removal, and another found Jason Schwartzman (“The Grand Budapest Hotel”) confronting a demented billboard ad that comically distorted the actor’s face.
Eric Wareheim talked to Business Insider about the “creepier” second season of “Bedtime Stories” and the process of making a 10-year anniversary episode of “Awesome Show,” which premiered in August. We also touched on his burgeoning wine business, his experience acting on Netflix’s “Master of None,” and the two feature films he’s writing.
Season two of “Tim & Eric’s Bedtime Stories” premieres Sunday at midnight EST on Adult Swim.
John Lynch: The “Awesome Show” anniversary episode was fantastic. As you’re switching between sketch comedy and the cinematic structure of “Bedtime Stories,” do you find it’s easier to be in one of those modes than the other at this point?
Adult SwimEric Wareheim: Yeah, we hadn’t done the sketch show for a while. We’d been in story mode, doing “Bedtime Stories,” and I was doing “Master of None.” As soon as we got back to sketch mode, we spent a week doing “Awesome Show” and had so much fun because it’s such a different energy. It’s really quick, you get to be really crazy, and you don’t have to develop characters. It was easy to switch back, and we had a blast doing it. We were pretty much just crying on set every day, crying from laughing. A lot more laughter when you’re making sketch comedy. You get to the joke really quick.
Lynch: Do you feel it’s more rewarding, in a way, to find humor within the structure of “Bedtime Stories?”
Wareheim: They’re both equally rewarding. I can’t say one is better than the other. But as former film students, making “Bedtime Stories” is satisfying in the way that it looks like a film, sounds like a film, and there are really great actors involved. Sometimes “Bedtime Stories” feels almost like a trick, where you get settled in like, “Oh, I’m watching something pleasant here,” and then you’re like, “Oh, my God. This is happening?” But with “Awesome Show,” the video element just looks so wild that you know something wild is going to happen. With “Bedtime Stories,” you’re tricked into feeling like you’ve seen it before, if you’ve seen movies and dramatic TV.

Lynch: Would you say that this season is darker than season one? I’ve only seen the trailer, but that was the impression I got, that it’s more … Cronenberg.
Wareheim: Yeah, it’s more kind of … Lars Von Trier. More reflective of our culture and society right now. Things are getting crazy. Things are getting nightmarish, and that’s reflected in our show. As two guys getting older, dealing with these heavy issues, we’ve kind of naturally put that into our stories. And yes, the new season is darker, creepier, but also pretty funny.
Lynch: In what ways did you approach this season differently than the first one? Were there things you brought over from it?
Wareheim: Well, yes, we brought in the same style, the same soundscapes, same score, same kind of energy. But we learned a lot from season one. We know what works now, and we feel that season two is a whole new world that we’re super excited about.
Lynch: I think your fans really appreciate the versatility of your sensibilities. Do you have any sense of whether diehard fans of “Awesome Show” appreciate “Bedtime Stories” to the same degree?
Wareheim: You know, we’ve been walking our fans through our library since “Tom Goes to the Mayor,” which is very different than “Awesome Show,” and “Bedtime Stories” is very different than “Awesome Show” as well. But they all have these similar themes, and I feel like if you’re on board with a couple of these themes, and you’re a fan, you can go with us to other places. And that’s the hope of anyone’s career is to have it be dynamic and not staying the same. I’m glad we took seven years off and didn’t make “Awesome Show.” We came back, and I feel like this special is one of the strongest “Awesome Shows” we’ve made.
Lynch: The post-production editing that’s so prominent on “Awesome Show” and “Tom Goes to the Mayor,” it’s used to a lesser degree on “Bedtime Stories.” Do you feel like you’ve exhausted that tool in a way?
Wareheim: No, I don’t. I feel like with the “Awesome Show” special we tried to do some new things, which I was totally surprised at from our editors, to go to new places. We’ve seen a lot of people try to recreate what we do, and no one’s really done it quite yet. I wish people would take our editing style and take it to the next level, but I don’t think we’re done with it yet. There are more places to go.
Lynch: Your style is definitely trending toward being more cinematic, and you’ve done a feature film in the past. Do you see another feature on your horizon?
Wareheim: Yes. I’m writing two feature films right now. It’s the most exciting thing that’s happened to me. I went to film school because I wanted to be a filmmaker. Tim and I made a film, and it was really hard, but this is my personal passion. They’re going to be a combination of drama and comedy, in a very dark, dark way. We’ve been making so much sh-t, so we’re going to take a couple months the rest of this year to do some writing.
Lynch: When you’re in that film mindset, do ideas germinate in the same way that a “Bedtime Stories” episode does, and then you build on it?
Wareheim: Yeah. It all comes from experiential things. For example, when I was in New York shooting “Master of None,” I encountered a lot of wild, amazing things, and I’m turning those things into a feature. And it’s just like “Bedtime Stories” is based off of our real fears or real things that have happened to us, and then we exaggerate them for dramatic effect. That’s where everything comes from.
Lynch: Definitely. My phone was a breaking up a bit at the end there. Sometimes these phone interviews feel like I’m Ed Begley in the “Cinco-Fone” sketch from “Awesome Show.”

Wareheim: [a weary laugh] Yeah. Definitely, a Cinco communication system.
Lynch: On another note, you’ve also been a successful music video director throughout your career. Are there any recent music videos that you’ve admired?
Wareheim: Sh-t. I can’t think off the top of my head really. I don’t watch that much comedy, and I don’t watch that many music videos. Not to be all high falutin about it, but I like to keep my voice pretty pure and try not to follow the trends and stuff like that. I’m sure there are some great music videos out there.
Lynch: I understand you also have a wine company that you’re looking to build. What’s been the operation behind that, and how do you approach it?
Wareheim: Well, if you’ve been following my Instagram for the last five years, you know I’m a real fan of food and travel and culture, and wine is like the base of a lot of culture I feel. I’ve learned so much about different places through wine, and I wanted to do something amazing in America and do it naturally. There’s a new kind of wine making, it’s not new, but it’s a style that’s just becoming popular called natural winemaking. And I wanted to be a part of it, and I want to give back to the world. One of the wines is actually a Dr. Steve Brule Sweetberry wine, if you know that sketch. That was sort of the start of this business, but I have a winemaker Joel Burt, who’s a genius, and we said to ourselves, “Let’s make good wine. Let’s not make it a joke.” And that’s what happened. Now we have a whole line of wines coming out in the fall that are incredible.

NOW WATCH: Here’s why people are afraid of clowns — and what you can do to get over it

Earlier this year, we heard about a North American tour to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!, the wacky, insane Adult Swim series starring Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim. But for those of you who weren’t lucky enough to catch the tour before it ended in Los Angeles last night, you’ll still get a chance to celebrate 10 years of Tim and Eric.
Adult Swim announced this month will bring Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! Awesome 10-Year Anniversary Version, Great Job? to your television set, celebrating the series with some familiar characters in all-new sketches. Those who attended the tour already got to see a preview of the special, but you won’t have to wait long to see it for yourself.
Entertainment Weekly reports the Tim and Eric 10th anniversary special will air on August 27 at 12am ET/PT. It’s the first time there has been new stuff from Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! since the “Chrimbus Special” aired in 2010, following the fifth and final season in May earlier that year. Here’s a taste of the silliness to come from Tim and Eric this time:
Funnily enough, in the middle of the show’s first season in 2007, Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! had a 50th anniversary special from the future, featuring an old Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim as the guests of honor:
There’s no word on exactly which characters will be returning for the anniversary special, but personally, I’m hoping to see the Channel 5 news team in action again, especially if it includes bringing back John C. Reilly as Dr. Steve Brule, who got his own short-lived show after appearing on Tim and Eric’s series.
But that’s not all.
Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim will also be bringing back another one of their shows to Adult Swim. The odd anthology series Bedtime Stories is coming back for a second season starting on September 10 at 12am ET/PT. The series debuted back in 2013 as a special, returned with seven episodes in 2014, and two more specials in 2015.
Bedtime Stories is weird in an entirely different way, and this season will bring guest stars Rhea Perlman, Ray Wise, Jorge Garcia, Fred Willard, Andre Royo, and Sarah Sutherland into the mix, with Tim and Eric playing a cavalcade of different characters, as usual. You can get a first look at the duo as the Baklava Boys in the second season premiere, which has something to do with keyboards and pastries, over at Entertainment Weekly.

CHILDREN who go to bed at the same time every night are less likely to pile on the pounds when they grow up, suggests new research.![]()
Lily’s grandpa tells some pretty good bedtime stories, but you’ll see that for yourself as you play through the adventures he’s describing, affecting how each bedtime tale plays out through your own top-down action in Blossom Tales: The Sleeping King.
These were definitely the stories I wanted to hear as a kid.
Grandpa’s bedtime stories happen to involve little girl knights, irate wizards, puzzle and danger-filled dungeons, and broad, open worlds to explore. As you progress through the world and make discoveries, grandpa will alter his tale to accommodate what you’re up to, having you help him create exciting stories for his nowhere-near-sleepy-enough granddaughter.
Fans of a certain other top-down action/exploration game might be familiar with some of the combat and weapons, but Castle Pixel has made this adventure their own, creating an array of neat tools and magical devices that affect your fighting style, as well as their own charming world and ultra-cute art style to tie it all together. Blossom Tales: The Sleeping King possesses that comfortable familiarity from being inspire by something great, but takes it to unique places and plays in ways that make it their own special, charming concoction.
And besides, who doesn’t want to be the subject of awesome bedtime stories for a good kid? Jerks, that’s who.
Blossom Tales: The Sleeping King is available for $ 14.99 on Steam. For more information on the game and developer Castle Pixel, you can head to the developer’s site or follow them on Facebook and Twitter.

The Taboo star, 39, read the tale titled There’s a Bear on My Chair, which was originally written and illustrated by Ross Collins, on Mother’s Day.
Joined by his loyal canine friend Woodstock, Tom’s narration came complete with character voices and two cuddly toy co-stars.
However, it was one particular line that sent Twitter into meltdown.
Describing the mouse who was desperate to get the bear out of his chair, the actor said: “Perhaps I’ll give him a scare, I’ll jump out in my underwear.”
One excited fan tweeted: “Tom pal you can jump out on me in just yer underwear any time #cbeebies.”
“Thank you #tomhardy for another great bedtime story apparently about a bear and a chair but I got distracted at leap out in my underwear (sic),” another added.
A third wrote: “Bedtime story with #TomHardy … memorable line “I will jump out in my underwear!” #nightnight #sweetdreams.”
While a fourth joked: “‘perhaps I’ll give him a scare, I’ll jump out in my underwear’… Go on then Tom, if you insist! #TomHardy #cbeebies.”
This is the third time Tom has appeared on the CBeebies channel after he previously read stories on New Year’s Eve and Valentine’s Day.
The actor is set to read two more stories, the dates of which have not yet been confirmed.
CBeebies Bedtime Stories read by Tom Hardy is available to stream on BBC iPlayer now.
Mums have been eagerly awaiting the Taboo actor’s return for another story after setting pulses racing last month.
The 39-year-old actor read his first CBeebies bedtime story on New Year’s Eve before returning again on Valentine’s Day.
Tom will now read There’s A Bear On My Chair on March 26 at 6.50pm, which coincides with Mother’s Day in the UK.
Previously, Tom read You Must Bring a Hat by Simon Philip and Kate Hindley, complete with character voices and loyal dog Woodstock by his side.
Six weeks later, the Peaky Blinders star left mothers across the country flustered when he settled down on February 14.
Wrapped up in a red jacket and wearing binoculars, he read Tom McLaughlin’s The Cloudspotter.
Tom’s performances sparked a social media frenzy, with many viewers tuning in without their little ones.
One viewer tweeted: “Recorded @CbeebiesBBC bedtime stories…. not even gonna pretend it was for the baby #TomHardy.”
“No I do not have children but Yes I watched tonight’s CBeebies bedtime story #TomHardy,” posted another.
A third asked: “Is it weird that my kids were already in bed so I watched Tom Hardy tell a bedtime story without them?”
“I put baby to bed and watched the story with Tom Hardy,” revealed a fourth.
Tom is one of many big names to appear on the channel including David Hasselhoff, Damian Lewis, Sir Derek Jacobi and James McAvoy.
Tom Hardy’s CBeebies Bedtime Stories will air on March 26 at 6.50pm.
