Most added she’s “excited” for her first live show, telling host Lorraine Kelly: “This time I can feel it within myself that I have different nerves that are being awakened and it’s good – this is a different challenge and I’m learning something more about myself.”

Lorraine was keen to quiz Motsi on how she will judge her own sister Oti, who is partnered with Kelvin Fletcher.

“I’m going to judge her like any other dancer,” Motsi said.

As the Russian and Israeli speeches needed subtitles, it appeared that not all could read what was on the screen. 

A large amount of viewers flooded to Twitter to comment on the size of the font, claiming it was ruining their experience of the show. 

One wrote: “I bl**dy hate programmes with subtitles! I have shocking eyesight and can’t read the TV from where I sit! Therefore, after 13 minutes I am giving #McMafia up as a bad job @BBCOne. Shame as was looking forward to this!!”(sic)

A second added: “Watching #McMafia with my mum who is losing thread of programme as subtitles revert to tiny from her usual settings when character speaks in Russian. Such a shame @BBCOne Why no uniformity throughout for visually impaired?”

Another agreed, commenting: “Oh @BBCOne the subtitles on #McMafia are dreadful, too small and at times the letters disappear into the background.”

A fourth raged: “@BBCOne #McMafia love it but with so many subtitles you could increase the font size! Difficult to read at speed across a room.”

Meanwhile, the first episode saw a huge cliffhanger which appeared to set the tone for the eight-part series. 

Alex Godman (played by James Norton) was left to choose war or peace and by the looks of the explosive trailer that followed the instalment, it seemed that son of Russian mobsters will keep with the family tradition. 

McMafia continues tomorrow on BBC One at 9pm.

Today marks the annual event which remembers the 35 million sufferers who have died from the illness and those who still battle with HIV/AIDs today. 

While BBC Breakfast commended Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who will carry their first official engagement today to raise awareness of both HIV/AIDS and youth crime, viewers felt the breakfast presenters should have at least worn their red ribbons too.

One audience member wrote: “@BBCBreakfast email sent to BBC. This morning I turned the TV on and 8 was utterly disappointed. Today is the 1st of December which is Worlds Aids Day and no one on BBC Breakfast was wearing a Red Ribbon? I’d understand if it held a political meaning but it doesn’t.”

Another tweet read: “Complain to BBC Breakfast- no sign of red ribbons for World AIDS Day. 35m died since 1981. Strong promotion of PREP by AIDS and HIV charities led to its use and halving of infections- we need to keep awareness so wear the red ribbons!!”

“Disappointing to not see any red ribbons on breakfast tv. It’s world aids day, @GMB @BBCBreakfast #WorldAIDSDay #WAD2017 @reallorraine,” added one more, which was followed by: “The event was the Kick Off for World AIDS Day get your red ribbon and promote awareness today! Remember the 35m dead but promote successful treatments that need to reach more people ! Shame on BBC for not wearing ribbons on Breakfast TV!! #bbcbreakfast #WorldAIDSDay #PIPP #NATbaznick56.”

“@BBCBreakfast shocked to see Charlie And Naga aren’t wearing red ribbons for Worlds AIDS Day!!!!” yelled this particularly disgruntled viewer.

Good Morning Britain also came under fire with one viewer posting: “@GMB why is nobody wearing a red ribbon for World AIDS Day? Very disappointing.”

A second agreed: “@GMB should be ashamed no red ribbons on display for Worlds Aids Day doesn’t help ease apathy and stigma.”

However, both news programme did give World AIDS Day extensive coverage during today’s broadcast, thanks to Harry and Meghan. 

BBC Breakfast airs on BBC One at 6am while Good Morning Britain airs at the same time on ITV.
