High cholesterol is one of the major risk factors for heart disease and diet can play a major role in controlling levels.

Former first lady Melania Trump worried that her husband was "blowing" the US response to COVID, but he told her she worried too much, a forthcoming book on Donald Trump's presidency reveals.
Melania Trump was "rattled by the coronavirus and convinced that Trump was screwing up," wrote New York Times chief White House correspondent Peter Baker and New Yorker staff writer and CNN global affairs analyst Susan Glasser in their new book "The Divider: Trump in the White House, 2017-2021."
She shared her concerns with former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, a Trump ally, in a phone call and sought his help to persuade her husband to take it more seriously, according to CNN's reporting on the book set to publish Tuesday.
"'You're blowing this,' she recalled telling her husband," Baker and Glasser wrote, according to CNN. "'This is serious. It's going to be really bad, and you need to take it more seriously than you're taking it.' He had just dismissed her. 'You worry too much,' she remembered him saying. 'Forget it.'"
As the nation confronted mounting death tolls, Trump mocked mask-wearing and suggested disinfectant injections and sunlight treatments to fight COVID. He held a September Rose Garden ceremony to announce Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court that became known as a superspreader event.
Shortly after the event, he and Melania announced they contracted COVID. Polling at the time showed most Americans thought the president didn't take appropriate precautions for his health or the risk of contracting the virus seriously enough.
In February 2020, Trump acknowledged in an interview with author Bob Woodward for the book "Rage" that the virus was "deadly" and more dangerous than the flu, even while saying publicly it was no worse. A month later, Trump told Woodward, "I wanted to always play it down. I still like playing it down, because I don't want to create a panic."
Days later, he was saying he wanted the nation "opened up and just raring to go by Easter."

Power Book II: Ghost continues each Sunday on Starz and explores the fallout of Ghost’s murder at the end of the original series, now available to catch up on Netflix. After killing his own father and letting his mother take the fall, Tariq is struggling to balance his double life.
Episode three, Play the Game, of Power’s brand new spin-off series aired last Sunday and saw Tariq (played by Michael Rainey Jr.) make a drastic decision.
Power’s sixth and final season ended with Tariq pulling the trigger on his own father, James ‘Ghost’ St Patrick (Omari Hardiwick).
Book II opened with Tariq starting a new life at Stansfield University, but the ambitious student can’t help but follow in his father’s footsteps.
Moreover, Tariq is torn between his studies and his mother Tasha’s (Naturi Naughton) ongoing defence case for taking the blame for her husband’s murder.

With the cost of Davis Maclean’s (Method Man) legal fees mounting, Tariq had to make a risky decision which could turn out to have catastrophic consequences.
Although Tariq and Brayden (Gianni Paolo) managed to sell some prescription pills on campus, he eventually turned to Monet’s (Mary J. Blige) drug-pushing business for help.
Monet’s expertise initially seemed like a valuable asset to have on board, but fans discovered the friction at home caused by her rebellious daughter Diana (LaToya Tonodeo) threatened to implode their business venture.
While Tariq stands to gain a lot of insight from his new mentor, Ghost’s hot-headed son could put himself at risk if he doesn’t do what he’s told.
Monet is already under pressure at home thanks to her unruly daughter and reluctant son Dru (Lovell Adams-Gray), who is forced to do her mother’s dirty work.
With the drug business already on edge, Tariq could be caught in the crossfire if he doesn’t play it safe.
The star continued: “If anyone messes up in our family, or outside of our family or whoever, it’s a bad thing for them. Monet Tejada is a queenpin, she does not play, so it could be bad.”
It’s unlikely Book II will kill off its lead in the first season, especially since the spin-off has officially been renewed for a second season.
However, Tonodeo’s comments indicate the series has only scraped the surface of the formidable Monet’s potential in these opening episodes.
Moreover, Tariq isn’t the only member of the St Patrick family who stands to lose a lot if things blow up in his face.
Tonodeo teased: “The Tejada family, we do not play. And I feel like, if anything, Tariq wants to make sure that he’s doing all that he can to protect his family, and vice versa for Tasha and her son.
“But I don’t know if they fully understand how cutthroat the Tejada family are just yet. I do feel like they’ll definitely find out very, very, very soon.”
This series is only just getting started, so fans are looking forward to tuning in this Sunday to find out if Tariq manages to stay one step ahead of his new business partner.
Power Book II: Ghost continues Sundays on Starz.
Outlander‘s Claire is known for speaking her mind. So it’s not that surprising that the woman who created her did that — and then some — after this week’s episode.
Author Diana Gabaldon, who penned the series of novels on which the Starz series is based, tweeted her harsh review of part of Episode 6, “Better to Marry Than Burn,” Sunday afternoon after the installment began streaming on the Starz app. (The channel airs the show Sundays at 8/7c.)
Gabaldon tweeted that the episode was available, and a viewer replied that the chemistry between lead actors Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan seemed off near the end of the hour, during a sex scene in a stable. (Editor’s note: I thought the same and mentioned it in my recap, which you can read here.) Gabaldon then replied to the viewer with her take on why the moment didn’t work.
“Bad dialogue, bad direction, bad lighting, awkward set,” she posted, making sure to defend Heughan and Balfe. “Actors did their level best with what they were given to work with.”
In a subsequent tweet, Gabaldon clarified that she was not against the entire hour, just that specific exchange between Mr. and Mrs. Fraser. “Would y’all pay attention?,” she wrote. “I was referring explicitly to one 45-second scene, NOT the episode.” Later, she added that “Most of it was pretty good.”
Gabaldon is a consultant on the Starz series, and she wrote the current season’s upcoming Episode 11.

Wilshaw told Bentley: “People should know about the Second World War, the First World War, the conflicts which have taken place and a fight for freedom you and I enjoy.”
The reality star replied: “I totally get that but I don’t think in needs to be put in such a young way to young children mentally – there mental health to be told this amount of people died for you.”
Former Head of Ofsted Wilshaw hit back: “You mustn’t exaggerate,” to which the other guest responded: “I don’t think I am exaggerating.
“I remember learning it as a child and thinking, ‘My god, it’s so intense.’”

Bradley Walsh was back presenting The Chase this evening and was joined by four new contestants who all hoped to beat today’s chaser, Mark Labbett.
Simon, 30, Tracy, 49, Marilyn, 67, and Tom, 23, all took their turn in facing The Beast to try and take the jackpot prize on the ITV quiz show.
The first contestant to try his luck was Simon who introduced himself as an aspiring performer and expressed that he admires The Chase’s presenter.
Bradley then asked the contestant what he would like to spend his potential winnings on and confessed he would buy a very unusual item.
Simon revealed that he would like to purchase a “kitchen aid” leaving the presenter speechless before he finally regained his composure and continued with the show.
During his cash builder round, the 30-year-old earned a disappointing £3,000 before meeting today’s chaser which was revealed to be Mark.
Taking a swipe at both Simon and Bradley, Mark said: “So you’re an actor, presenter and comedian who can’t quiz. Great, there’s two of them now!”
Smirking, Bradley agreed: “But it’s true,” before Simon leaped to his defence and said: “Brad’s my hero.”
However Mark wasn’t finished with his fighting talk and tried to persuade Simon to take a lower offer of £300 by remarking: “You really should take it because you are that bad.”
But Simon hit back joking: “Three hundred fits like the Beast’s suit,” before Mark said: “Tell the cooks to get my food on, this isn’t gonna take long.”
Bradley then jumped in and added: “Think the gloves are off on this contest, good head-to-head, looking forward to this!”
Viewers took to Twitter to comment on Mark’s swipe, one said: “Mark is savage #TheChase.”
Another tweeted: “Ooohh – @MarkLabbett is coming out all guns blazing tonight, and I LOVE IT!!!! #thechase.”
The chaser beat the aspiring performer during his head-to-head round before going on to beat the other three remaining contestants.
Tom was then chosen to present the team in one final attempt to win £4,000 for all four of them but once again beaten by the Chaser.
Earlier in the week, viewers watched as Bradley apologised to a contestant after he made fun of the answer he provided on the show.
During the first contestant’s cash builder round, the presenter and comedian couldn’t help but take the mick out of one of his responses.
Martin, a semi-retired GP, was asked: “What cuisine is the chain La Tasca?” to which replied: “Scottish.”
As soon as Martin’s time ran out, Bradley burst out laughing and then apologised: “I’m so sorry but La Tasca being Scottish?”
Bradley called his answer “ridiculous” before Martin explained that he had been thinking about whisky and the presenter agreed that he understood his thought process.
The Chase continues weekdays at 5pm on ITV.

Hell or High Water: Jeff Bridges, Chris Pine, and (especially) Ben Foster shine in this taut yet intelligent crime drama from Starred Up director David Mackenzie, who fuses the American Western mythos with contemporary economic commentary, soaking our current anxieties into its canvas without overpowering it. The younger men are Texas brothers on a bank-robbing spree, and Bridges is the grizzled Ranger who tracks them as best he can, and waits for them to make a mistake. Mackenzie orchestrates the action beats with a sure hand, but the real force comes in the modest, contemplative moments; it’s a film filled with the quiet poetry of desperation, and its closing scene is like something out of Cormac McCarthy.

Bad Reputation: The best bits of this Joan Jett bio-doc come early — vivid portraiture of the sleazy ‘70s rock scene with a focus on the Runaways, which is a story good enough for a stand-alone documentary. But the rest of it is pretty compelling too, adroitly tracking the ups and downs of a true survivor in a fickle, fickle business, from the laughable early rejections to the various ways in which her industry chewed her up in the mid-‘80s to the savvy way in which she reinvented herself as a godmother of the scene from the ‘90s on. Director Kevin Kerslake keeps things moving at a good clip, and gets some interview gold from contemporaries, followers (from Kathleen Hanna to Miley Cyrus), and even one-time co-star Michael J. Fox.
Love, Gilda: This documentary love letter to comedy icon Gilda Radner lets her tell her own story, via archival interviews, readings from her journals, excerpts from her autobiography, and tapes of the free-flowing monologues that she presumably used to write it. In spite of that material, you don’t really come away from this generally agreeable movie with a much of a sense of who she was and what drove her; director Lisa Dapolito tends to merely hint at or brush past her difficulties and frustrations (particularly on Saturday Night Live, which seems a calculated choice to avoid dinging the mystique). But comedy geeks will go nuts for the archival material, which includes footage of her fabled Toronto Godspell production and wonderful home movies from her National Lampoon shows and SNL days.

White Boy Rick: “This is Detroit,” one of Rick’s new friends tells him. “If you ain’t on the take, you gettin’ took.” Director Yann Demange (‘71) tells the true story of how Rick filled both roles in that city through the mid-‘80s, and if the results are uneven (the pace is a little punchy, and there’s something of a void at the movie’s center), there’s still much to admire: moments of keenly observed authenticity, an admirable awareness of the violence that’s always right under the shiny surfaces, sharp turns from a great supporting cast (particularly Bel Powley, who takes a cliché and pumps it full of life and juice), and yet another startling Matthew McConaughey performance. There’s a silent scene where he sits in a car with a gun in hand, trying to work up his nerve and realizing that he no longer has it in him, that represents some of the best film work he’s done. (Includes featurettes and deleted scenes.)

Bad Times at the El Royale: Writer/director Drew Goddard’s too-long-in-coming Cabin in the Woods follow-up is, basically, The Motel in the Woods — a self-aware, structurally snazzy story that gathers a bunch of strangers in a remote motor inn, for reasons that will eventually, eventually become clear. Goddard takes his time in the opening scenes, seeming to test how long he can subsist on mere mood, performance, and charisma, and making each new piece of the story broadside the audience. It’s a little unruly and a little too long, but it works anyway; the energy is high, the dialogue is colorful, and the cast (which includes Dakota Johnson, Jon Hamm, Nick Offerman, Jeff Bridges, the jaw-dropping Cynthia Erivo, and a frequently shirtless Chris Hemsworth) is unbeatable. (Includes featurette.)
