One replied to the original comment: “Could it be he was undercover at the time as a PC or DC? As that would explain for the lack of Sergeant Stripes.

“Adding to this theory he is wearing a police jacket like a PC would wear as it is very rare for a detective to be wearing one of those in the show,” they said.

But someone else disagreed: “Steve’s way too scrappy for undercover work – last time they left him unsupervised he f****d a witness and messed about with Lindsey. Would be an interesting twist for this season though!”

Another did some more digging: “I have just looked it up and that’s not Steve’s collar numbers as his ones are 1561 and the one is the photo is 3947,” begging the question as to whether this is even his vest.

X Factor 2018: Contestant reveals what Louis Tomlinson is REALLY like backstage https://briefnews.eu/x-factor-2018-contestant-reveals-what-louis-tomlinson-is-really-like-backstage/ https://briefnews.eu/x-factor-2018-contestant-reveals-what-louis-tomlinson-is-really-like-backstage/#respond Sat, 27 Oct 2018 22:22:44 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/x-factor-2018-contestant-reveals-what-louis-tomlinson-is-really-like-backstage/

Boys’ category favourite Dalton Harris is already a superstar in his home country of Jamaica, and now the contestant is taking the X Factor in the UK by storm.

Paired with singer and mentor Louis Tomlinson, Dalton has already become one of the firm favourites on the ITV competition, particularly since his show-stopping performance in week one of the live shows.

Last week saw Olatunji Yearwood and Armstrong Martins, unfortunately, leave the show, as viewers voted them bottom in the race for the recording contract.

Ever since the contestants have found their mentors on the show, there has been much speculation over exactly who is the most present and involved.

Last week singer and judge Robbie Williams even called out his fellow judge Simon Cowell for only being available for the Girls’ category by “phone”.

The 59-year-old music mogul had been away in America most of the week by his own admission, but now Dalton has revealed he thinks Louis has been the best judge on the show.

Speaking to Express.co.uk and other media, Dalton said: “I think so yes, he’s been… Louis’ always been very involved man.

“We got to the Judges’ Houses and we were able to be in the studio all the time.

“He’s always been there so I could be biased, but Louis’ more involved. He’s there sitting for hours and hours and hours and we went to bed really late last night.”

“He’s all hands on deck and he’s part of the team,” the act continued. “He doesn’t go out of the room when we cut he’s always there in the backyard, or in our rooms.

“When we’re talking or eating, having conversations. He’ll ask, ‘How was the day?’ We’ll ask, ‘What do I achieve? How are we doing, how is he doing?’ He’s just a real person who just happened to be in music.”

Asked whether he was surprised though, Dalton insisted he didn’t have “expectations” about his time on the competition.

“I don’t think I’m surprised,” he said. “Because I’m the kind of guy – I really don’t ever have expectations of anyone if I don’t know them.

“I wasn’t surprised and I wasn’t not surprised, I met him and this is who he is.

“I appreciate that about him but I don’t really formulate opinions about anyone if I haven’t really spoken to them.”

“But it’s refreshing to know someone as successful as he is can be humble enough to allow time for the work and put the work in and is so reachable,” the star added.

But it’s not just Louis who has provided support, as Dalton shared: “We were in the makeup room one day and Robbie [Williams] came up to me and he was like, ‘Are you ok?’ And he gave me some personal advice, and I was like, ‘Thank you.’

“The first time I auditioned he came backstage and told me I have a lot of potential, I feel like that’s awesome as well, and Ayda’s always been a comfort as well.

“So I think it’s really good but Louis for me – he’s the guy because he’s here with us, wherever we are and he always is.”

X Factor continues tonight at 8.35pm on ITV.

A Series of Unfortunate Events season 2: Klaus Baudelaire star reveals backstage drama https://briefnews.eu/a-series-of-unfortunate-events-season-2-klaus-baudelaire-star-reveals-backstage-drama/ https://briefnews.eu/a-series-of-unfortunate-events-season-2-klaus-baudelaire-star-reveals-backstage-drama/#respond Wed, 11 Apr 2018 12:52:48 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/a-series-of-unfortunate-events-season-2-klaus-baudelaire-star-reveals-backstage-drama/

Louis Hynes, who plays Klaus Baudelaire, has come clean about a behind-the-scenes disruption which occurred on the Netflix drama.

In a video posted to his Instagram, Louis exposed a secret from the the filming of the eighth episode of season two to fans.

Louis in character as Klaus can be seen rushing Violet Baudelaire (played by Malina Weissman) on a gurney through Heimlich Hospital as they attempt to escape Count Olaf’s (Neil Patrick Harris) clutches once more.

However, when the doors fly open, part of the wall manages to fall off with it, knocking down props.

The pair are clearly surprised at the inadvertent destruction they’ve caused and break character with a smile.

Louis captioned the video: “That time I accidentally broke the set… @unfortunate.”

The programme, based on the series by Daniel Handler’s alias Lemony Snicket, has already enjoyed two season and covered the events of nine books.

With only four books left in the series, season three will be its last.

The final instalment is also set to have fewer episode that its predecessors with seven instalments, while the first had eight and the second had ten.

It is not yet known when season three will air, although if it follows the patterns of the other seasons it could be early 2019.

Neil Patrick Harris, who plays the villainous Count Olaf, has spoken out on how doing only three seasons feels like making “a specific piece of art”.

He told Digital Spy: ”It was always the plan to do three seasons, which I really liked.”

“It makes me feel like we’re doing a specific piece of art, as opposed to just hoping that the zeitgeist holds us up for as many seasons as people can stomach.”

The cast for the last season will remain the same with Louis, Malina and Neil reprising their roles along with Presley Smith, who plays toddler Sunny Baudelaire.

The gothic tale has already featured some huge names, including Lucy Punch, Joan Cusack, Catherine O’Hara and Don Johnson.

Therefore, season three could bring in some big stars as more characters are introduced.

Get Out actress Alison Williams will likely be involved in the third season after she turned up at the end of series two as an unnamed character.

Her identity was not revealed, but it could be that she’ll be playing Kit Snicket, sister to narrator Lemony Snicket (Patrick Warburton) and the slain Jacques Snicket (Nathan Fillion).

Kit takes on a big role in the final books, so if it is Alison, she’ll definitely be sticking around for a while.

A Series of Unfortunate Events seasons 1 and 2 are available to watch on Netflix.

Linda Robson drops Loose Women backstage bombshell: ‘The lawyers come in’ https://briefnews.eu/linda-robson-drops-loose-women-backstage-bombshell-the-lawyers-come-in/ https://briefnews.eu/linda-robson-drops-loose-women-backstage-bombshell-the-lawyers-come-in/#respond Sun, 11 Mar 2018 00:53:27 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/linda-robson-drops-loose-women-backstage-bombshell-the-lawyers-come-in/

The Birds of a Feather actress appeared on today’s Pointless Celebrities with the hope of winning some cash for her chosen charity alongside a string of other stars.

Gearing up for a go at showcasing her best trivia knowledge, Linda suddenly made a very surprising admission about her regular ITV show.

Speaking to presenter Alexander Armstrong, the 59-year-old was only happy to explain how the format works, and it involves “a lot of meetings”.

But viewers who tune in to the controversial debates may be shocked to learn that what’s put on-screen isn’t as carefree as it may seem.

Linda began: “We get picked up at 8 o’clock in the morning and then we have a meeting and two of us go off for makeup and the other two wait and look through your notes.

“Then the other two go, and then we have another meeting before we go live on air.”

The panellist then let slip that the production team often have to come in and chastise the team for stepping over the line.

“We finish at half past one and have a meeting to discuss what we shouldn’t have said,” she laughed with a grimace. “And the lawyers come in.”

Seemingly glossing over the fact that Linda had just revealed something major about the backstage format of the show, Alexander simply joked that it was “a lot of meetings”.

Along with Linda’s surprising confession, fellow contestant Debbie McGee told a harrowing tale about an experience working for the Iranian National Ballet many years ago.

Speaking to a stunned Alexander, she said: “Well I’d planned to stay for three years but if you’ve seen the movie Argo with Ben Affleck that was what I went through. Exactly.

Barely noticing Alexander was almost speechless at her admission, the star reeled off the horrifying experiences she’d endured whilst there.

“I was hidden in a house, I got stopped at the airport, I chatted up one of the customs guys who stamped my passport and I ran across the tarmac and escaped,” she continued.

“Was that pre or during the revolution?” Alexander asked wide-eyed, to which Debbie confirmed she went through the experience during it.

The former magician’s assistant also admitted the reason why she chose to work for the foreign company didn’t have anything to do with the nature of the dance.

“They were paying five times more than the National Ballet,” she declared, before adding with a laugh: “It was the money.”

Pointless Celebrities continues Saturdays on BBC One, and Loose Women  continues weekdays on ITV.

Strictly Come Dancing’s Alexandra Burke slams backstage rumours: ‘They had an impact’ https://briefnews.eu/strictly-come-dancings-alexandra-burke-slams-backstage-rumours-they-had-an-impact/ https://briefnews.eu/strictly-come-dancings-alexandra-burke-slams-backstage-rumours-they-had-an-impact/#respond Wed, 24 Jan 2018 09:42:17 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/strictly-come-dancings-alexandra-burke-slams-backstage-rumours-they-had-an-impact/

Alexandra Burke gave an interview on Good Morning Britain and discussed what life is like on the Strictly Come Dancing tour.

ITV hosts Susanna Reid and Kate Garraway asked if the former X Factor winner would like to set the record straight on rumours that emerged following her appearance on the BBC talent show.

While Alexandra, 29, was on Strictly, stories emerged of her acting a “diva” and the star received constant backlash for showing an emotional response to judges’ comments.

She told Susanna: “I kind of did put the record straight the last couple of weeks on Strictly.

“It is upsetting but I am such a positive person and it’s always good to be that sort of way.

“A lot of the things were untrue. It didn’t take away from the fact I had an amazing time.

“I can’t let that negativity take away from what’s been great,” Alexandra explained.

The Bad Boys hitmaker also explained that she feels the stories reflected how people on the show considered her.

“Maybe it could have had an impact on how people saw me,” she recalled.

However, she said that Joe McFadden and Katya Jones were always the worthy winners, adding: “I’m not sure on whether they had an impact on Joe winning because he was amazing and deserved it.

“But those who know me know what I’m like so I just have to take it with a pinch of salt.”

Alexandra gushed about the Strictly Come Dancing tour which is currently taking the nation by storm.

When asked how it compares to the live BBC show, the popstar laughed: “I think it’s even better!

“You get to meet those who voted for you and there’s so many kids who love the show.

“Seeing their smiles is amazing.”

Strictly Come Dancing is expected to return to BBC One later this year.

Susanna Reid forced to apologise after Good Morning Britain backstage secret is exposed https://briefnews.eu/susanna-reid-forced-to-apologise-after-good-morning-britain-backstage-secret-is-exposed/ https://briefnews.eu/susanna-reid-forced-to-apologise-after-good-morning-britain-backstage-secret-is-exposed/#respond Tue, 19 Dec 2017 10:17:13 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/susanna-reid-forced-to-apologise-after-good-morning-britain-backstage-secret-is-exposed/

Weatherman Alex Beresford was presenting today’s forecast from the roof of the ITV studios when Susanna demanded that he prove there wasn’t a green screen behind him.

“Alex it looks like you haven’t gone to the roof at all and you’re in front of a green screen and by the magic of television we have put the scene of London behind you,” she told him. “Can your prove you’re on the roof?”

Alex was more than happy to oblige asking the cameraman to zoom out to show the landscape behind him.

“Of course yeah. Ed please do show them exactly where we are this morning,” the 37-year-old asked.

“We are definitely on the roof of . I know it looks surreal but I’m really out here in the cold as much as I would like to be inside in the warmth with you.

“I reckon we should send up here. That’s what we should do actually.”

But as the camera zoomed out to show Alex was standing on the roof, it was revealed that he had to stand on a plastic box in order to fit in the shot.

“Oh, we’ve just ruined your height because you’re actually standing on a box,” Susanna, 47, noted.

She went on to apologise for exposing the backstage secret, quipping: “Sorry about that. That wasn’t my intention.”

Co-host Piers also made a dig at the weatherman’s height as he chuckled: “What we’ve also shown is that you are absolutely tiny and have to stand on a box.”

“That was so that we could get the shot right,” Alex insisted.

airs weekdays on ITV at 6am.

Strictly Come Dancing 2017: Mollie King and AJ Pritchard get INTIMATE in backstage clip https://briefnews.eu/strictly-come-dancing-2017-mollie-king-and-aj-pritchard-get-intimate-in-backstage-clip/ https://briefnews.eu/strictly-come-dancing-2017-mollie-king-and-aj-pritchard-get-intimate-in-backstage-clip/#respond Mon, 11 Dec 2017 11:18:07 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/strictly-come-dancing-2017-mollie-king-and-aj-pritchard-get-intimate-in-backstage-clip/

The pair lost out to Gemma Atkinson and Aljaž Škorjanec when they landed in the bottom two and faced the dreaded dance off.

Mollie’s problems came when she made a mistake during her Waltz after failing to impress with her Samba earlier in the show.

The 30-year-old found comfort in her professional partner, AJ, 23, who consoled her backstage.

The pair – who have been surrounded by romance rumours of late – were caught in a cute embrace.

AJ told his girl backstage: “I am so proud of you. So proud. You train the hardest and you train the most out of anyone.

I know you want to do more of this and more… It didn’t help that you got destroyed in the Samba.

“You picked yourself up and you got yourself out there, so well done,” he comforted.

Mollie, who said she got herself in “a bit of a state”, thanked her partner for making her feel better.

Following their Strictly Come Dancing exit, Mollie and AJ have been gushing about each other on social media.

Mollie posted a cute pic of the pair on Instagram, along with the quote: “AJ, I don’t even know where to begin. I have felt like the luckiest girl in the world being able to dance in your arms every Saturday night.

“I can’t even begin to thank you enough for everything you have done. You are absolutely magical.

“And of course, thank you so so much to every single one of you who voted us through this far. It has been a complete dream getting to the semi finals and we wouldn’t have been able to do any of this without you.”

Strictly Come Dancing continues next Saturday on BBC One at 6.30pm.

Strictly Come Dancing 2017: Joe McFadden and Katya Jones nearly collapse in backstage clip https://briefnews.eu/strictly-come-dancing-2017-joe-mcfadden-and-katya-jones-nearly-collapse-in-backstage-clip/ https://briefnews.eu/strictly-come-dancing-2017-joe-mcfadden-and-katya-jones-nearly-collapse-in-backstage-clip/#respond Sun, 10 Dec 2017 21:22:18 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/strictly-come-dancing-2017-joe-mcfadden-and-katya-jones-nearly-collapse-in-backstage-clip/

The brief snippet of Joe and his professional partner Katya Jones showed the couple doing their incredible routine to Human by Rag n’ Bone Man.

However, in the backstage footage that was only revealed on this evening’s show, the Holby City actor, 42, was seen losing his balance and nearly taking a tumble during rehearsals.

In the video, Joe could be seen struggling with his balance and putting out a hand down on the floor to stop them both from collapsing in a heap.

He and Katya, 28, were practicing their final move which saw them switching their balance in an incredible Strictly Come Dancing first.

WHEN IS THE STRICTLY COME DANCING 2017 FINAL?

The BBC behind-the-scenes footage comes after the couple got a score of 70 from the judges, putting them in joint second places with Debbie McGee and Giovani Pernice.

Alexandra Burke and Gorka Márquez topped the leaderboard with a whopping 79.

Despite the mishap in rehearsals, Joe and Katya nailed the all-important last move but did suffer balance issues elsewhere in their dance.

Speaking about the routine tonight, judge Darcey Bussell told host Claudia Winkleman while watching a replay: “Oh my god, how beautiful is that? This is where he had his balance problem which is such a shame.”

As a clip of the final move was shown, she added: “But we want that – how extraordinary! Have you ever seen that on Strictly?

“Can you imagine how strong you have to be in your core to have that balance? I mean, in the Argentine Tango you need to take risks, you can’t play it safe – especially in the semi-finals.

“We want to see them pulling off every single, daring move possible. That’s when they’re going to get more points.”

This evening also saw Mollie King and AJ Pritchard get eliminated as the finalists were revealed to be Joe and Katya, Alexandra and Gorka, Debbie and Giovanni, and Gemma Atkinson and Aljaž Škorjanec.

The Strictly Come Dancing grand final airs on BBC One next Saturday at 6.30pm.
