The Chase aired on ITV this evening, and the popular quiz show saw Bradley Walsh welcome four new players. Opening tonight’s show was a professional athlete, Greg, and it seemed as though many viewers took quite shine to the 28-year old. It turned out he competed in the 2018 Winter Olympics as part of the United Kingdom’s Bobsleigh team. He revealed he was on the show to try and get some funding for the Bobsleigh team, and he ended up getting £5,000 in his cash builder. However, the Olympian was caught by tonight’s chaser, Paul Sinha, and viewers weren’t very happy about it. Many of them ended up taking to Twitter to demand the contestant be brought back despite having been caught. One viewer pleaded: “Can we swap Jon for Greg to come back please?” Another viewer added: “Can we get Greg back, please?” A third viewer commented: “Gutted gorgeous Greg went!” Commenting on Greg’s appearance, one viewer wrote: “Greg’s gone and so has half of the audience, only watching for him.” Both Moira and Anne were answering questions incorrectly during their head-to-head, and Bradley seemingly had had enough of both player’s poor run and joked: “Can someone do us a favour and get one right.” “I’m going to have to shave in a minute,” he added. Making matters worse, it was then revealed that Moira had answered the question incorrectly. “What is happening?” Bradley exclaimed before turning to Anne and warning: “You better get this right.” The Chase airs weekday evenings at 5pm on ITV. The star played Emmett Cullen in the franchise; teaming up with Kristen Stewart as Bella Swan and Robert Pattinson as Edward Cullen. The five-part series grossed over $ 3.3 billion worldwide, despite poor reviews that saw the instalments range from 25% to 49% on Rotten Tomatoes. Fans adored it, though; and Lutz has predicted the cast would be up for coming back if a new story were prepared. “Oh yeah, I think if Stephenie Meyer and Melissa [Rosenberg] wrote something I think we’d all for sure come back for it,” he told ScreenRant. Asked if he had any particular ideas for his character, he said: “Well, yeah so Stephenie wrote an excerpt called ‘Emmett and the Bear’ that showed how he turned into a vampire and how Rosalie saved his life. “And I remember reading that and I was like, ‘Man, this is so cool, I wish we could be able to show this.’ “Because you’re able to show Alice’s transformation, you’re able to show Jasper’s, and Rosalie’s – but not Emmett’s. So I was always kind of like, ‘I wish we could do that.’ “And I think it would be really cool to have a spinoff of Rosalie and Emmett, that would be really fun to do.” As for whether it could be rebooted without the original stars, he admitted: “I could see it being rebooted. Probably not anytime soon because the other movies, the CGI, the budgets, everything was great. I don’t know what more would be different besides having new actors in it. “But if somewhere new technology happens, or new VR experiences and you could integrate the fans into the movie, that’d be a new experience.” Stewart was asked about the movies by Entertainment Tonight earlier this year. “On one hand, it’s 10 years ago—it’s wild, it’s surreal to think about that,” she said. “But then on the other, my memories are still so close to me, it doesn’t feel like a lifetime ago, necessarily. It’s trippy.” When asked if she’d ever return to the character of Bella, she said somewhat sarcastically: “Oh, yeah sure… Honestly, start sending scripts my way. Let’s start building this. Let’s really explore [it].” Other stars of the films – which also included New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn – Part One and Breaking Dawn – Part Two – included Taylor Lautner, Ashley Greene and Anna Kendrick. Catherine Hardwicke helmed the first movie, with Chris Wetz, David Slade and Bill Condon going on to take charge of the rest. Two frenemies mending fences over coffee… or just playing nice for the camera? We have our first official glimpse of Big Little Lies Season 2, thanks to an Instagram post from star Laura Dern. The Emmy winner posted a photo of herself on set with co-star Reese Witherspoon, with the enticing caption “Madeline and Renata are back.”

The premiere of The CW’s Black Lightning gave viewers answers to the “Who?” questions. Such as, who is this “retired” superhero? Who is his family? Who are his allies and enemies? Episode 2 then aimed to answer the only logical follow-up: “Why?”
The former ballroom dancer, who is known as the Queen of Latin, was drafted in as retiring Len Goodman’s replacement but has endured a torrid start to life on the show.
She has made frequent on-air blunders, even mistaking Good Morning Britain’s Charlotte Hawkins for The Saturdays singer Mollie King, with viewers saying they are finding it hard to warm to her.
Shirley, 57, even admitted her rapid promotion from relatively unknown dance instructor to chief critic on television’s biggest show had been tough.
Now it has emerged BBC bosses have yet to offer her a seat on the panel next year.
And Shirley is non-committal about her future on the show, which finishes later this month, cryptically saying: “Let’s get this series out of the way.”
Publicly she says she has enjoyed her time on Strictly and thinks she has gone down well with viewers, but longs to see her sons who live in America.
Last night a show insider said: “At this stage no one knows if she is coming back. She hasn’t ruled it out, if asked, but she is still waiting.
“If she doesn’t come back she has still got her teaching.”
Bookies reacted to the news by slashing the odds on Shirley lasting only one series alongside fellow judges Darcey Bussell, Craig Revel Horwood and Bruno Tonioli, making it 3/1 she leaves after the final on December 16.
William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams said: “Shirley is getting a serious amount of stick and appears to be questioning if it is worth the aggro.”
Gaffe-prone Shirley has alienated viewers with a series of contentious calls.
Viewers were up in arms after she decided to eliminate former JLS star and hot favourite Aston Merrygold instead of Mollie in what was described as the “biggest shock in reality TV history” and immediately sparked accusations of bias.
Speaking previously, twice-married Shirley said: “Going from being a dance teacher to suddenly being the head judge was a little overwhelming, but it’s amazing and thrilling.
“I have been around for 50 years in this industry, I’ll just be as honest as I can. I am very strict, feisty and fair.
“I want people to do well but I want people to take healthy criticism. It’s a competition and I will be giving my honest opinion.”
Meanwhile, East End born Len, 73, who still judges on the hit US version of Strictly, Dancing With The Stars, said he thought his former pupil was doing a “wonderful job” as his replacement.
He said: “I’ve known her for all her dancing life. I’ve judged her hundreds of times. Of course I know Shirley.
“It’s always difficult to step in and I’m sure there’s thousands of people saying, ‘Thank God Goodman’s gone and we’ve got lovely Shirley’.
“But I think she’s doing a wonderful job.”
Bookmakers make Mollie the 4/6 favourite to be the tenth celebrity given her marching orders, while former magician’s assistant Debbie McGee, 59, remains the 9/4 favourite to win the competition.

Fans of the ITV show rejoiced as Aaron Dingle (played by Danny Miller) made a comeback, after his mother Chas (Lucy Pargeter) returned before launching herself at former flame Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) in last night’s dramatic scenes.
Aaron came back to surprise younger sister Liv (Liv Flaherty), just as the Dingles were getting ready for Debbie’s (Charley Webb) birthday party.
Viewers immediately took to Twitter to gush over the surprise return, with one person posting: “Aaron my baby boy #Emmerdale,” alongside a love heart emoji.
A second screamed: “AARON I’VE MISSED YOU #emmerdale.”
“I always miss Aaron glad he’s back,” a third wrote.
A fourth continued: “Love seeing Aaron, Liv and Chas back together. A vital piece is missing from the equation though #Robron #Emmerdale.”
A different person shared: “I missed Aaron soooo much!!!! Soooo glad he’s back!!!!” as another said: “Yes Aaron has been sorely missed. Glad he is back. Hope he is not going anywhere for while.”
One thrilled fan commented: “Aaron is back. A big smile on my face #emmerdale #Robron.”
Meanwhile, in other Emmerdale news, fans were appalled tonight as Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) continued to “pimp” out her daughter.
Taking it upon herself to coax Debbie into using her rich suitor Tom Waterhouse (Ned Porteous) for the money they owed, Charity shocked fans by suggesting that her daughter sleep with the businessman.
While Debbie was disgusted by her mum’s attitude and declined Tom’s offer of a house, fans still raged at Charity’s actions on Twitter.
One person commented: “Can’t believe Charity will basically prostitute her daughter #Emmerdale.”
“Charity is a disgrace #Emmerdale,” another wrote.
Emmerdale continues tomorrow at 7pm on ITV.
Phil Serrell was on the hunt for the perfect item to take to the final auction when he stumbled across an old cigarette advertisement high on the wall.
As he shouted seller Dave over to ask the price, the dealer was not looking where he was going, which turned out to be a mistake in a crowded antiques shop.
Phil almost face-planted the floor as he tripped over an item leaving Dave in disbelief.
He exclaimed: “Oh, I can feel a claim coming on!
“My back, my back!” the expert cried while trying to wrangle the price down some more.
Phil settled on £55 for the rusty sign, joking: “It should have a health warning but lets hope it doesn’t have a wealth warning.”
It wasn’t the only thing that went wrong for him in Dave’s shop, as he failed to navigate his way around the cluttered store.
He knocked over several items as he went through every nook and cranny, leaving no stone unturned.
The pain was worth it however, as the sign made an impressive £10 profit when it went to auction.
Antiques Road Trip airs weekdays on BBC One at 4.30pm.
The Prime Minister’s speech yesterday saw her cough, while her set fell apart and she was handed her P45 by comedian Lee Nelson.
There was clearly one talking point on the Beeb’s morning show, and hosts Charlie Stayt and Naga Munchetty returned to it time and time again.
Following on from the Prime Minister’s performance at yesterday’s Conservative Party conference in Manchester, the news team set about scrutinising every moment of it, even getting a voice coach on to explain the best way to drink water.
However, viewers didn’t seem to enjoy the coverage, flocking to social media to air their views.
One wrote: “Theresa May none of that was her fault at all. Get off her back #BBCBreakfast why aren’t you slating the ‘comedian’ and the set builder?”
Another added: “I’m no fan of her but are you going to talk about anything the Prime Minister actually said or just concentrate on the cough.”
A third tweeted: “T May spoke for over an hour yet clowns like Mason not interested in the content just that she had a cough… typical bias,” before one more posted :”FFS! She had a cough. She should have gone off stage & had a drink to sort it out, they would have called for her head then.”
What’s more, Stayt, 55, even suffered a bodily blunder of his own after sneezing on air, which also became a point of interest for those tweeting in defence of May.
One viewer insisted: “For goodness sake – surely Charlie needs to be sacked for coughing on TV – Theresa May coughing – non story!”
A second agreed, noticing: “Enough of that cough. You haven’t made such a fuss of Charlie’s massive sneeze!”
BBC Breakfast airs weekdays on BBC One from 6am.
Cyrus, who played the Taylor family’s pet pooch Bronson on the BBC soap, has been dropped by the cast after bosses were more impressed with his back-up.
The Staffie cross underwent a knee operation in August, taking some time off to recuperate, but he has now been axed in favour of the dog who took over while he was away.
Cyrus’ owner, Caroline King, told The Sun that she believed that her three-year-old canine would be returning to work next month, but that she has now been told that the replacement dog responds better to commands on set.
“It’s cruel, he’s been treated unfairly,” she said. “It’s ridiculous because Cyrus is 100 per cent trustworthy and reliable.
“I was led to believe he’d be able to come back,” she fumed. “But the agent rang on Thursday to say the back-up dog was fantastic.
“It does a better wait and she was going to stick with it,” Caroline added, saying that she was “really angry” with the agent for making the decision.
She revealed that she doesn’t plan to watch EastEnders anymore, insisting that she doesn’t want to see another dog take Cyrus’ place.
Cyrus’ agent, Kay Weston of Animal Ambassadors, however, also spoke out about the controversy, telling the publication the situation was “absolutely silly”.
“It’s a dog in EastEnders for goodness’ sake,” she blasted. “This dog can’t do the work and isn’t fit for purpose. The dog didn’t fulfil the contract. The back-up is doing what it didn’t.”
A spokesperson for the soap released a statement saying: “It’s not uncommon in a continuing drama for an animal to be recast.”
Cyrus captured the hearts of the nation as Bronson when he had people on tenterhooks after going missing following the dramatic gas explosion which rocked Albert Square.
Luckily, Bronson is back with his family, but the dog actor will be replaced from now on, with Cyrus being ousted from filming Christmas scenes by his replacement pup.
EastEnders continues Monday at 8pm on BBC One.
House sales in the UK have incrased. New buyers stalled their house search until after the election at the beginning of June, but house sales appear now to have made a recovery.
NAEA Propertymark (National Association of Estate Agents) has issued its June Housing Report today.
In terms of sales agreed and sales to first-time buyers, the number of sales agreed per branch rose from 10 in May to 11 in June.
The proportion of sales made to first-time buyers rose to 30 per cent in June – the highest amount since January.
When it comes to demand for housing, the number of house hunters registered per estate agent branch increased by 10 per cent last month.
In May, there were 350 per branch, compared to 384 in June.
This is also a 16 per cent increase from June 2016 when 330 potential buyers were registered per branch.
The supply of properties in June indicated that the gap between supply and demand is increasing.
The number of properties available per branch fell last month, dropping from 40 in May to 37 in June.
Only two properties sold for more than asking price in June, a decrease of one percentage point from May.
The number of homes which sold for less than asking price rose to 79 per cent last month – up two per cent from May.
Mark Hayward, Chief Executive, NAEA Propertymark, said: In May, we saw a period of political uncertainty, with new buyers stalling their house search until after the election.
“In June however, it seems the market has bounced back, with the number of house hunters rising.
“Although we have seen a decrease in the number of houses available per branch, we have seen a rise in the number of sales – which is typical of this time of year as buyers and sellers push through their property transactions ahead of the quieter summer months.”
House prices are continuing on a downwards trend according to new figures, but a city you might not expect has seen a massive increase in sales.
Your Move released its latest England and Wales House Price Index last week that shows prices are starting to cool ahead of the summer but that a North-South divide is re-emerging.
