Google Play might be close to launching a section dedicated to selling audiobooks. 9to5Google has spotted a banner displayed in the Books section of the app market announcing its arrival. It was even promoting a 50 percent discount for your first audiobook purchase and apparently linked to a category distinct from Google Play Music, which does have some audiobooks on offer. The link still brings up an empty page as of this writing.

While we couldn’t replicate what 9to5Google saw, it’s not the first time the tech titan dropped a hint that it plans to expand its audiobooks selection. A Google Play update that went out last year had codes showing that the store is preparing to launch audiobook support. The launch of a new category is now looking more and more likely, but we’ll have to wait for Google’s announcement to know more.

For the X-Files fans who still want to believe in an infinite well of supernatural stories, you’re in luck.

David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson will be reprising the roles of Fox Mulder and Dana Scully in a new audio production titled The X-Files: Cold Cases. The audiobook is based on Joe Harris’ comic series, taking place after the events of the 2008 film The X-Files: I Want to Believe and provide more details on the events between the movie and Fox’s 2016 miniseries revival.

The “cold cases” in the title refer to the unsolved X-Files cases that have been accessed by an unknown group during an FBI database breach, according to Variety. Mulder and Scully are forced to come out of hiding and face a growing conspiracy involving — what else — the U.S. government and otherworldly forces, as old allies and enemies begin to re-emerge from the woodwork.

In addition to Duchovny and Anderson, the audiobook will bring back X-Files characters Assistant Director Walter Skinner (Mitch Pileggi), the Cigarette-Smoking Man (William B. Davis), the Lone Gunmen (Tom Braidwood), Richard “Ringo” Langly (Dean Haglund) and John Fitzgerald Byers (Bruce Harwood).

In a short video teaser, Duchovny, Anderson and the returning cast members promote the audiobook and remark how it’s “comfortable falling back” into the characters.

The audiobook will be released by Audible Studios, and X-Files creator Chris Carter will serve as executive producer and creative director. Dirk Maggs, who previously worked on the radio version of  The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy and an audio drama adaptation of Alien: Out of the Shadows, adapted the novels to audio format.

This new audiobook is a good way to fill up our time while we wait for a follow-up to 2016’s six-episode 10th season. There has been no concrete confirmation of another season, though Fox is reportedly aiming to bring back the beloved supernatural series in 2018.

The uncertainty may be due to Duchovny and Anderson’s schedules — Anderson has several ongoing projects under her belt, starring in The Fall and American Gods, while Duchovny is appearing in the Twin Peaks revival — or the lukewarm reception of the Fox limited series revival, which was hindered by nostalgia fatigue. I was underwhelmed by the episodes, which made the right choice to lean more heavily on monster-of-the-week episodes instead of the dense show mythology, but still seemed to be lacking the spark that made the show so fresh when it first aired in the ’90s. I will look forward to a sequel however, even if it’s just because the last episode ended on a pretty unsatisfying cliffhanger.

In the meantime, this new audiobook arrives July 18 and is available for preorder.

J.K. Rowling’s Hogwarts Library textbook, Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, is coming to Audible, and the narrator is none other than Eddie Redmayne–Newt Scamander himself.

Pottermore announced the upcoming release on Friday. The company will be publishing it, but it’ll be available via the audiobook seller, Audible.com.

Andy Gaies, Audible Chief Content Officer, vouched for the company’s excitement

“Ever since we first made the Harry Potter series available on Audible in 2015, they have been consistently among the highest rated, most downloaded, and most listened to audiobooks in our store.”

Eddie Redmayne is an obvious pick, of course. After all, his is the only voice of Newt Scamander that we’ve ever known. So why shouldn’t he narrate Newt’s famous textbook?

According to Entertainment Weekly, Eddie discovered the textbook after he got his role in the film, and he was immediately hooked. Redmayne recalls that he loved the humor and how “enchanting” the book was. He specifically noted the wit behind the writing.

Redmayne also said–as he has often said at other times–author J.K. Rowling’s use of language is one of her best traits. And that holds in this book as well.

“There are some really great tongue twister words in here! Occasionally, I had to stop recording just because I was incapable of saying the words without either laughing or getting my tongue in a muddle. I enjoyed the challenge and hope listeners can sense that in my narration.”

Eddie Redmayne has often mentioned his admiration for Rowling’s writing. When talking about the mating dance scene in Fantastic Beasts (sorry for any spoilers), he mentioned that it was so casually mentioned in the script–a script which, by the way, was written by the acclaimed author herself. Redmayne had to do a double take after reading the short queue prompting Newt to perform a mating dance. To this day, Eddie seems to love telling this story.

As mentioned before, Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them has not been on Audible before now: this will be its official premiere. Today reported that this edition of the textbook will be unique from the familiar, pre-film version.

“It’s the first time ‘Fantastic Beasts’ is being released as a digital audiobook, and to mark the occasion Rowling has added a new foreword by Scamander and new beasts.”

J.K. Rowling is famous not only for her novels, “textbooks,” Pottermore presence and her Twitter voice, but also for her big heart for others and her interest in charities. Rowling has even begun her own charity, Lumos, whose goal is to help families who need it, Vanity Fair said. Particularly, the organization helps provide needy families with the aid that they need and assists them in avoiding government institutionalization as a mere “quick fix.”

Even Emma Watson has reached out via Twitter in support of Rowling’s charity, the news source reported.

The shirt reads the motto of the charity.

“We do not need magic to transform our world; we carry all the power we need inside ourselves already.”

In line with what we know of J.K., she has confirmed that the proceeds from this new audiobook will have a charitable end.
