Johnny English is back, again, with Johnny English Strikes Again. Rowan Atkinson returns as the well-meaning but woefully inept secret agent for the third (!) Johnny English movie. The Johnny English Strikes Again trailer is below.

I don’t have anything against the Johnny English series, but I have a bone to pick with a particular trailer trope on display here. That is: the “let’s start our comedy trailer off pretending this is a serious movie, only to pull the rug out!” trope. You might as well insert a generic record scratch sound if you’re going to do that. It’s tired, and we as a society of trailer-watching individuals should move on from it.

Okay, now that that’s out of the way, here’s the Johnny English Strikes Again trailer!

Johnny English Strikes Again Trailer

Johnny English Strikes Again finds Rowan Atkinson’s bumbling secret agent called out of retirement and dealing with the fallout of a cyber-attack. Much falling down follows. They’ve somehow made three of these Johnny English movies, so someone, somewhere, is enjoying them. Rowan Atkinson is a pro, so even if Johnny English Strikes Again fails to live up to the dizzying heights of the original Johnny English and it’s award-winning sequel Johnny English Reborn, I’m sure he’ll find a way to get a few laughs.

This franchise is, of course, inspired by the endless James Bond films, and Johnny English Strikes Again has the distinction of featuring a former Bond Girl – Olga Kurylenko, who co-starred in Quantum of Solace. As Eon Productions struggles to get Bond 25 off the ground, perhaps you can find comfort knowing that Johnny English 3 had a quicker turnaround time. It might be a little while before we see Bond 25, but at least we have Johnny English to hold us over.

Johnny English Strikes Again, directed by David Kerr and starring Rowan Atkinson, Olga Kurylenko, Ben Miller, Emma Thompson, Jake Lacy, Miranda Hennessy, Tuncay Gunes, and David Mumeni, will stumble into theaters on September 20, 2018.

JOHNNY ENGLISH STRIKES AGAIN is the third installment of the Johnny English comedy series, with Rowan Atkinson returning as the much loved accidental secret agent. The new adventure begins when a cyber-attack reveals the identity of all active undercover agents in Britain, leaving Johnny English as the secret service’s last hope. Called out of retirement, English dives head first into action with the mission to find the mastermind hacker. As a man with few skills and analogue methods, Johnny English must overcome the challenges of modern technology to make this mission a success.

Johnny English 3 teaser trailer: Rowan Atkinson is back – Cast, release date https://briefnews.eu/johnny-english-3-teaser-trailer-rowan-atkinson-is-back-cast-release-date/ https://briefnews.eu/johnny-english-3-teaser-trailer-rowan-atkinson-is-back-cast-release-date/#respond Wed, 04 Apr 2018 12:19:12 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/johnny-english-3-teaser-trailer-rowan-atkinson-is-back-cast-release-date/

The world is a terrible and dangerous place.

With James Bond still missing there are important shoes to fill and only one man can do it.

While Daniel Craig continues to keep us all hanging, civilisation can heave a sigh of relief, then, that Britain’s other super secret agent is finally back on the job.

Although OO7 might be heading to the courts to sue for copyright over the scandalous copycatting of one his most famous storylines…

Rowan Atknson will be bringing his physical prowess and rubbery face to the third film in the series.

Johnny English was introduced to an unsuspecting world in 2003 and returned for 2011’s sequel Johnny English Reborn.

Johnny English Strikes back sees the hapless hero brought out of retirement after an evil hacker reveals te secret identities of every undercover agent.

Sound familiar?

If it does indeed sound familiar, it’s because it bears a striking similarity to the main plot of the biggest Bond movie of all time, Skyfall.

Johnny English may not boast Judi Dench as M or Ben Wishaw as Q, but it does have Ben Miller as his devoted sidekick Angus Bough. Their reunion is a truly beautiful and moving moment in the teaser trailer…

The movie has also pulled in some impressive Hollywood star power, including a former Bond girl…

John Malkovich is reprising his role as Pascal Sauvage from the first movie, with Gillian Anderson back as Johnny English Reborn’s Pamela Thornton.

The new movie also boast a bona fide Bond girl with Olga Kurylenko appearing as Ophelia.

Hopefully, all will be revealed in the new main trailer tomorrow.

The main trailer will be released tomorrow, April 5.

Johnny English Strikes Back is out in UK cinemas on October 12.

The Walking Dead season 8 spoilers: Who is Georgie? Jayne Atkinson reveals HUGE twist https://briefnews.eu/the-walking-dead-season-8-spoilers-who-is-georgie-jayne-atkinson-reveals-huge-twist/ https://briefnews.eu/the-walking-dead-season-8-spoilers-who-is-georgie-jayne-atkinson-reveals-huge-twist/#respond Mon, 19 Mar 2018 19:46:18 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/the-walking-dead-season-8-spoilers-who-is-georgie-jayne-atkinson-reveals-huge-twist/

Last night’s episode of The Walking Dead continued the saga of Rick Grimes (played by Andrew Lincoln) taking on Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan).

Although the instalment ramped up the tension by putting Rick and Negan at risk of zombie attack within the basement, the pair parted untouched.

But as the feud continued, the group were introduced to a brand new character, Georgie (Jayne Atkinson).

Georgie reminded many The Walking Dead fans of a certain comic book antagonist.

Viewers have begun pointing out that Georgie strongly resembles Pamela Milton, the leader of the Commonwealth.

Georgie’s entrance lead fans to begin theorising that the show will now start introducing the group, who were originally based in Ohio.

The Commonwealth is a group that holds 50,000 people, and was only introduced into The Walking Dead’s comic book in November last year.

Pamela was introduced even more recently, as she debuted in volume 176 last month.

If Georgie really is the leader of the Commonwealth, could her power have something to do with the end of Negan’s reign?

Alternatively, Georgie may be revealed as Rick’s next antagonist following Negan.

Speaking to Insider, Jayne discussed the character: “I found a character that I thought she might be like in the Walking Dead lore, but this is definitely Scott [Gimple’s] brainchild and I was told that she might possibly have been a professor.

“There’s a picture of [Pamela], my son showed it to me, she looks a little like I would look on House of Cards, almost presidential or some sort of leadership position.

“But her name isn’t Georgie, so that could be just a red herring.”

Fans spoke out on Twitter to point out Georgie’s resemblance to Pamela.

One wrote: “Georgie is Pamela of the Commonwealth Community #TheWalkingDead #TalkingDead @WalkingDead_AMC @AMCTalkingDead.”

While another added: “This lady looks just like the Commonwealth leader Pamela Milton they just introduced in the comics. If this is her then this is way too early to be introducing them. #TheWalkingDead.”

The Walking Dead airs Monday on Fox UK at 9pm.

Strictly Come Dancing: Gorka Marquez gushes over “flawless” Emmerdale star Gemma Atkinson https://briefnews.eu/strictly-come-dancing-gorka-marquez-gushes-over-flawless-emmerdale-star-gemma-atkinson/ https://briefnews.eu/strictly-come-dancing-gorka-marquez-gushes-over-flawless-emmerdale-star-gemma-atkinson/#respond Fri, 23 Feb 2018 06:53:50 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/strictly-come-dancing-gorka-marquez-gushes-over-flawless-emmerdale-star-gemma-atkinson/

Strictly Come Dancing favourite Gorka Marquez cooed over “flawless” Gemma Atkinson in a sweet video shared on Instagram.

The professional dancer showered the former Emmerdale actress with compliments when they sat down for some hot beverages.

Speaking to the camera, Gorka told his 154,000 followers: “Having a coffee today in London with my beautiful. How was your photo shoot?”

“It was flawless, I looked incredible. No, I’m joking,” Gemma replied.

“No, she did! I saw the pictures,” Gorka offered, before cheekily covering his mouth and shooting the camera a mischievous look.

Earlier in the day, Gorka shared a video of him and Gemma, 33, chowing down a delicious gourmet breakfast.

The pair, who confirmed their romance earlier this month, met on the latest series of Strictly Come Dancing.

Since going public the couple have delighted their fans by posting a series of loved-up pictures on social media.

Just days ago Gorka, 27, shared an adorable black and white photograph of him tenderly kissing Gemma’s shoulder.

The Spaniard added the caption: “Excited to see this face tomorrow!!! @glouiseatkinson.”

Unsurprisingly, the duo’s fans rushed to the comment section to compliment the “beautiful couple”, with one writing: “You both make my heart sore.”

“Those who play together stay together and you look like you have great fun. So happy for you and love the pics,” (sic) added another.

A third gushed: “You two are just absolutely gorgeous,” while a fourth commented: “Such a cute couple.”

On Monday, Gemma gushed about her beau during a chat with her Key 103 breakfast co-stars Mike Toolan and Matt Haslam.

She said: “I like the fact that he’s funny. He makes me laugh and because he’s in London and I’m in Manchester – I think that’s a good thing – you both have to make an effort to see each other.”

Speaking about their Valentine’s Day vacation, she added: “When we got back to the hotel room there was this massive bouquet of roses he’d left for me, it was really nice.”

Emmerdale spoilers: Lachlan White to kill again? Thomas Atkinson shares chilling warning https://briefnews.eu/emmerdale-spoilers-lachlan-white-to-kill-again-thomas-atkinson-shares-chilling-warning/ https://briefnews.eu/emmerdale-spoilers-lachlan-white-to-kill-again-thomas-atkinson-shares-chilling-warning/#respond Wed, 17 Jan 2018 14:34:06 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/emmerdale-spoilers-lachlan-white-to-kill-again-thomas-atkinson-shares-chilling-warning/

Viewers were horrified when the White family car ploughed into an oncoming lorry after Lachlan (played by Thomas Atkinson) grabbed the steering wheel.

Now, the youngster who is wracked with guilt could be set kill Rebecca (Emily Head) as he tries to keep his involvement in the crash a secret.

Rebecca is currently in a coma meaning Lachlan’s secret is safe but if she wakes, she is sure to expose him.

As a result, Lachlan will go to great measures to ensure his aunt remains silent – even if that means switching off her life support.

“She hasn’t woken up yet, he doesn’t know if she’s going to remember everything, we know there’s been a head injury,” soap star Thomas teased.

“If Lachlan killing Rebecca did happen, it wouldn’t be a cold-blooded murder I don’t think.

“It would be protective and wanting to protect his life with Belle and the Dingles. So if it did happen, or something like that.”

The actor went on to add to The Sun: “I don’t know if it’s that he doesn’t want her to wake up, because he genuinely cares about his auntie, and at the end of the day, she’s the only family he’s got left.

“He just doesn’t want to lose everything that he’s got at the minute.

“After the crash he gets a lot closer with Bella and the Dingles and in a way it’s almost as if, after all this has happened, his life is better in a way.”

“He’s finally happy and people actually care about him and don’t just see him as this freak who’s done some terrible things in his past,” Thomas continued.

“So as much as he hates what he’s done and feels guilty, for him it feels like it’s almost a good thing and a fresh start, so…”

It comes after soap star .

Speaking to Daily Star Online about whether her character could forgive Robert Sudden (Ryan Hawley) for running of with baby see, she spilled: “I honestly couldn’t say.

“We haven’t shot anything that would suggest that because I’ve been in a coma. I don’t know how she would feel is she ever did wake up.”

Speaking to Tim Lovejoy and fellow Strictly Come Dancing star Simon Rimmer, Gemma explained that the door has been left open for a return.

However, fans will have to wait at least another year as Gemma has just signed another contract as a radio presenter and ruled out working two jobs at once.

Gemma, 33, said: “Emmerdale’s left open and I absolutely love it! So I’ll never say never, but at the minute I can’t do both.

“I did both for six months and it just, the hours, it killed me… and the travelling.”

Fans of Carly have begged Gemma to reprise her character in the soap ever since her exit.

One viewer tweeted: “@emmerdale Bring Gemma Atkinson back.”

“@MissGAtkinson when are you returning to Emmerdale then Gemma your being missed massive! x,” posted another.

A third added: “@emmerdale @MissGAtkinson Hope you return to Emmerdale Gemma. I really miss your character x.”

Gemma previously told OK! magazine that she would only return to Emmerdale on one condition.

She said: “It was left open and they’re an amazing bunch.

“So as long as the storylines are right and it fits in with everyone, of course I would.”

While the actress may not be learning lines anymore, she noted that she still speaks to her fellow cast mates.

She added: “I’ve stayed in touch with all of them – and I’m still in the Emmerdolls [band]!

“I speak to Mark Charnock, who plays Marlon Dingle, a lot.”

Strictly Come Dancing’s Gemma Atkinson takes swipe at Simon Rimmer amid romance rumours https://briefnews.eu/strictly-come-dancings-gemma-atkinson-takes-swipe-at-simon-rimmer-amid-romance-rumours/ https://briefnews.eu/strictly-come-dancings-gemma-atkinson-takes-swipe-at-simon-rimmer-amid-romance-rumours/#respond Sun, 14 Jan 2018 11:58:07 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/strictly-come-dancings-gemma-atkinson-takes-swipe-at-simon-rimmer-amid-romance-rumours/

Gemma, 33, appeared on Sunday Brunch this morning to discuss the upcoming Strictly tour which is aset to launch in Birmingham next week.

The blonde-beauty was stunned as she wondered how Simon balanced his dancing duties with his presenting role on Channel 4.

Sunday Brunch co-host Tim Lovejoy, 49, joked that he “had a bad back from carrying” his colleague throughout the stint and the pair erupted in fits of laughter.

However, it was Gemma who got the punchline, adding that Simon’s professional partner, Karen Clifton, had a sore back from doing the same thing.

The laughs didn’t stop there, as the Strictly Come Dancing finalist couldn’t hold herself back from gushing about her incredibly long time on the show.

Simon, 54, clearly had a bad case of jealously as he sat in a sulk listening to Gemma’s stories.

Gemma joked: “Oh Blackpool was brilliant… You got to dress up as Buzz Lightyear though.”

Downbeat Simon could only muster a small: “I hated that – that was my least favourite.”

This comes as the pair have been surrounded by romance rumours since the BBC show ended.

The host found himself at the centre of “fling” claims with Gemma after he posted a snap of the pair on his Instagram account last year.

Despite any reports of the Strictly “curse” striking again, the pair have insisted they are just good friends.

At the time Simon said: “Gemma is like a daughter to me and has become a friend of all my family. I think it’s funny.”

What’s more, their fellow contestant Chizzy Akudolu blasted the rumours, telling The Sun that it would never happen.

She insisted: “No, impossible. Absolutely impossible. They are so close, I don’t believe that for a minute.

“Not the way he talked about her, he talked about her like she was his daughter, I don’t believe it for one minute.”

Sunday Brunch airs each Sunday on Channel 4 at 9.30am.

Strictly Come Dancing 2017: Gemma Atkinson stunned as Aljaz HALTS It Takes Two https://briefnews.eu/strictly-come-dancing-2017-gemma-atkinson-stunned-as-aljaz-halts-it-takes-two/ https://briefnews.eu/strictly-come-dancing-2017-gemma-atkinson-stunned-as-aljaz-halts-it-takes-two/#respond Tue, 12 Dec 2017 22:06:41 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/strictly-come-dancing-2017-gemma-atkinson-stunned-as-aljaz-halts-it-takes-two/

Host Zoe Ball quizzed the Slovenian: “Aljaž, you’ve avoided the dance off until now. Were you surprised then to be in the bottom two?”

“You are always surprised if you are in the bottom two and as soon as we were…” he began, before squinting at the cameras to see what was written below his name on the screen.

It read: “Look behind the sofa,” under his name and Aljaz, 27, began to look around, which left Gemma, 33, visibly worried.

“Look behind the sofa? Is something going to jump out?” the Emmerdale star asked nervously.

Aljaž laughed as he joked: “Well, there’s a big Christmas tree there first. Right there.”

But his comment did little to reassure Gemma, with Zoe having to clarify: “No, nothing is going to jump out I promise.”

Aljaž then pulled out a long piece of card which had his name printed on it and a piece of string attached so that he could wear it around his neck.

“On no you didn’t! Look at it! It’s brilliant!” he exclaimed. “I got my own. It’s amazing and easy to read as well. Little things that make you happy.”

Following the brief interruption, Aljaž went back to his comment on Sunday’s results show, continuing: “Yes, you are always surprised when you are in the bottom two and especially in the semi-final when the stakes are that high.

“So as soon as we heard our names, we went backstage and we really, really composed ourselves and said lets just go out there.”

The Final airs Saturday on One at 6.30pm while It Takes Two airs weekdays on BBC Two at 6.30pm.

Strictly Come Dancing 2017: Aljaz drops Gemma Atkinson Rumba romance revelation https://briefnews.eu/strictly-come-dancing-2017-aljaz-drops-gemma-atkinson-rumba-romance-revelation/ https://briefnews.eu/strictly-come-dancing-2017-aljaz-drops-gemma-atkinson-rumba-romance-revelation/#respond Tue, 12 Dec 2017 20:07:24 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/strictly-come-dancing-2017-aljaz-drops-gemma-atkinson-rumba-romance-revelation/

The pair were chatting to host Zoe Ball about preparing for the sensual routine, which earned high praise from head judge Shirley Ballas, when the professional dancer dropped the bombshell.

Speaking about how she found the challenge, Gemma, 33, commented: “It was a very hard dance to do and straight from the rehearsal room I was struggling to get it. But I think it went okay on the night.

“I loved it. It was a great song. But it was weird doing it with Aljaž because he’s like my bro.”(sic)

Aljaž then went on to reveal how he got Gemma in a romantic mood for the performance, explaining: “We did crack it.

“It’s one of those, I always try, whenever you do the Rumba, you don’t practice romance in rehearsals.

“You want to make it real and you don’t want to act it so as soon as we heard that, ‘Dancing the Rumba…’ Gemma has one particular person that she always switches on when she hears their name. So I said, two words, and it goes like, ‘Tom Hardy’.”

Gemma blushed as she confessed it was true, laughing: “He said, ‘For this dance I am Tom Hardy’, and I was like, ‘Oh okay’.”

The moment came after Aljaž, 27, halted the show when he was given an early birthday present in the form of his own name tag.

The Slovenian dancer was elated when he found a long piece of card with his name scribbled across it behind the sofa on the BBC Two show.

“Look at it! It’s brilliant!” he exclaimed, leaving the Emmerdale actress speechless with his reaction.

The finale airs Saturday on One at 6.30pm while It Takes Two airs weekdays on BBC Two at 6.30pm.
