This fall, Ashley Tisdale will get to call Patricia Heaton mom. The actress has joined the cast of Heaton’s CBS sitcom Carol’s Second Act, replacing Bonnie Dennison as Carol’s daughter Jenny, our sister site Deadline reports.

Fortunately, the recasting won’t require too many reshoots, as Jenny was only introduced towards the end of the pilot. Jenny is a pharmaceutical rep assigned to the hospital where her mother is working as an intern. Per the official character description, her “bubbly and outgoing personality and carefree spirit is a buoyant counterpoint to Carol’s neurotic medical colleagues.”

The cast of Carol’s Second Act also includes Kyle MacLachlan (Twin Peaks), Ito Aghayere (Unforgettable), Jean-Luc Bilodeau (Baby Daddy) and Sabrina Jalees (Transparent). The comedy will air Thursdays at 9:30/8:30c this fall.

Though Tisdale is best known for playing Sharpay Evans in Disney Channel’s High School Musical franchise, she has also starred in a number of TV shows, including Disney’s The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, The CW’s Hellcats, TBS’ Clipped and Disney’s Phineas and Ferb. She has also recurred on several shows, including FX’s Sons of Anarchy and Freeform’s Young & Hungry, the latter of which counted her as an executive producer.

Tisdale will also remain a series regular on Netflix’s upcoming comedy series Merry Happy Whatever. Your thoughts on this recasting? Drop ’em in a comment below.

Strictly Come Dancing 2018: Pasha Kovalev whispers THIS to Ashley Roberts before live show https://briefnews.eu/strictly-come-dancing-2018-pasha-kovalev-whispers-this-to-ashley-roberts-before-live-show/ https://briefnews.eu/strictly-come-dancing-2018-pasha-kovalev-whispers-this-to-ashley-roberts-before-live-show/#respond Tue, 04 Dec 2018 01:11:08 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/strictly-come-dancing-2018-pasha-kovalev-whispers-this-to-ashley-roberts-before-live-show/

Ashley’s partner Pasha Kovalev, 38, is said to be supporting her after public backlash because of her previous professional dance training.

He revealed that before each show, he whispers a “confidence boosting” message into 37-year-old Ashley’s ear.

Revealing her pre-show rituals to TV Times, Pasha unveiled his “Pashley bubble” routine.

He said: “On the dance floor, in that 10-20 seconds before the music starts, I tell Ashley that we’re getting into our ‘Pashley’ bubble.

“I tell her that it’s just her, me and the music, and that nothing else exists for the next 90 seconds.”

Teasing what he likes most about working with Ashley, Pasha said: “It makes a big difference, when you’re working with someone, if you like them on a personal level.

“We joke around and never fight, so it’s really good.”

Fans will remember that Pasha won the 2014 series with TV presenter Caroline Flack – but could he win the 2018 series with Ashley?

Pasha continued: “All the professionals on Strictly grew up competing so to get something to show for it at the end of the series is amazing.

“All Ashley and I can do is do one dance at a time and try to do it the best we can. But I wouldn’t say no to another trophy!”

It comes after former Pussycat Doll Ashley was said to be worried that fans will continue to vote her into the bottom two.

An insider told The Sun: “She was upset after last week’s dance-off but put it down to a one-off.

“When it happened again she was on the verge of tears. She thinks it will happen every week and asks what more she can do.

“It’s knocked her confidence. She struggled to hide how hurt she was and needed reassurance from Pasha and the others.”

The insider added: “Ashley’s one of the best dancers ever on the show. But scraping through the dance-off each week takes the gloss off.”

Charles was axed from the show after the judging panel chose to save Ashley for a second week running, despite the public voting her into the bottom two once more.

The actor became the 10th celebrity to depart the dance floor after the judges’ scores were combined with the results of the viewers’ votes.

Charles and his professional partner Karen Clifton performed a Rumba to Maria from West Side Story, while Ashley and Pasha performed their Quickstep to Don’t Rain On My Parade from Funny Girl.

After both couples had danced a second time, the judges delivered their verdicts, with all four of the panel saving Ashley from elimination.

continues on Saturday on One at 6.35pm.

2018 contestant Ashley Roberts appeared on It Takes Two tonight to discuss her near-exit with host Zoe Ball.

However, in a skit for It Takes Two, Ashley was seen to pretend to be in tears with Zoe having to console the stricken dancer.

Of course, it was all part of a joke as Ashley acted a scene from Les Misérables.

Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton will perform an American Smooth (Foxtrot) to I Dreamed A Dream for Musicals Week.

As part of Tunes on Tuesday, Zoe was helped by the Strictly contestants to explore the themes.

Zoe said: “It’s time for Tunes on Tuesday, Musicals Edition! It’s showtime everyone.

“Back to serve up this week’s Ballroom bangers, it’s DJ Whiplash! We are going all out tonight.

“Let’s see which couple is first up tonight. Okay, here we go.”

The screen then revealed Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton.

Ashley walked out in a cloak crying, as Pasha waved the French flag.

Zoe continued: “I Dreamed A Dream from Les Misérables. Les Mis is the longest running musical in West End history, with over 13,550 performances under its belt.”

Pretending to break down, Ashley then hugged Zoe as the host said: “It’s going to be alright love! It’s all going to be fine.”

Zoe chuckled: “If you thought Vicky Gill worked hard – check this out!

“Each performance requires 392 complete costumes and 31 wigs!”

The presenter then cut the music and snapped: “It’s just too miserable!”

As Ashley was taken out of shot, Zoe shouted: “Get that girl some tea!”

It comes as the first Strictly couples to appear on next year’s Strictly Come Dancing UK Arena Tour were announced earlier today.

Stacey and Aljaž Škorjanec, Dr Ranj Singh and Janette Manrara, and Joe Sugg and Dianne Buswell will all take part in the tour.

They will all join tour host Ore Oduba and the live judging panel made up of Craig Revel Horwood, Dame Darcey Bussell, Shirley Ballas and Bruno Tonioli.

It Takes Two airs weekdays on  Two at 5pm.

Strictly Come Dancing 2018: Ashley Roberts BREAKS DOWN in tears after Dirty Dancing lift https://briefnews.eu/strictly-come-dancing-2018-ashley-roberts-breaks-down-in-tears-after-dirty-dancing-lift/ https://briefnews.eu/strictly-come-dancing-2018-ashley-roberts-breaks-down-in-tears-after-dirty-dancing-lift/#respond Sun, 07 Oct 2018 01:49:41 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/strictly-come-dancing-2018-ashley-roberts-breaks-down-in-tears-after-dirty-dancing-lift/

Ashley Roberts’ latest routine on featured the infamous lift from the hit movie which sees Baby lifted into the air.

Ashley had revealed she feared she would be unable to complete the lift in the VT which ran before her performance.

However, she had nothing to worry about as she performed the complicated routine with ease.

After finishing her routine, Ashley could be seen breaking down in tears as she was overcome with emotion.

Her professional partner Pasha Kovalev could be seen wrapping her in his arms as he lifted her into the air.

She could be heard sniffling as she realised she had managed to perform the lift with ease.

Ashley was then seen moving towards the judges for her critique as she wiped away tears.

Host Tess Daly was quick to comment on her tears asking: “Oh, are you all emotional?”

As Ashley quickly wiped at her eyes, she turned to Pasha who comforted her.

The former Pussycat Dolls star apologised for breaking down at the end of her routine before being stunned by the judges’ comments.

While Ashley may have left the judges impressed, many of those tuning into the BBC show at home were not happy.

Fans of the series claimed Ashley had an unfair advantaged over the other celebrities.

They insisted she was a “professional” dancer due to her experience.

Taking to Twitter, one viewer wrote: “Ashley and Pasha….it’s like watching 2 professional dancers…..oh wait a minute……#SCD #Strictly.”

Another added: “Wow. Who would have thunk it. Professional dancer Ashley Roberts is pretty good at dancing. #strictly.”

“#Strictly Ashley is a professional dancer? Am I missing something?” a third shared.

Someone else wrote: “Doesn’t matter how well ashley does because she’s a professional dancer? i don’t think that’s fair on those who haven’t danced before #Strictly.”

Ashley has previously spoken out about her experience.

She told BBC Radio 2 host Chris Evans: “I miss performing and I’m excited to learn a new style of dance.

“The latin and ballroom world is foreign to me.”

Strictly Come Dancing continues tomorrow at 7.45pm on BBC One.

England star Ashley Young hoping World Cup 'holiday' will end up being the best ever https://briefnews.eu/england-star-ashley-young-hoping-world-cup-holiday-will-end-up-being-the-best-ever/ https://briefnews.eu/england-star-ashley-young-hoping-world-cup-holiday-will-end-up-being-the-best-ever/#respond Tue, 10 Jul 2018 04:05:11 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/england-star-ashley-young-hoping-world-cup-holiday-will-end-up-being-the-best-ever/

And if the Three Lions reach the final he says it will be the best one he will ever have had.

Birthday boy Young – who was 33 yesterday – reflected the positive mood ahead of the semi-final against Croatia in Moscow tomorrow.

As England prepared for their biggest game for 28 years in the tranquillity of their Repino spa resort, the Manchester United wing-back said: “It’s felt like a good holiday we’ve been on – and if we get to the final it will be the best I’ve ever had.

“If you said to any player they were going to be together for seven weeks, there was a lot of talk of being bored, But it has not felt like that at all.

“We’re enjoying every moment of it. There’s no boredom at all. It’s not just the players but the staff behind the scenes making the hotel feel like you are at home, putting pictures of your family in the rooms and making sure there are things to do.

“Everyone gets on well and if you’ve got that off the pitch you can take that onto the pitch. Fans, staff, players, everyone can see how well we stick together.”

But although the players are relaxed and happy, Young says they are totally focussed on seizing England’s best chance for half a century to emulate the 1966 World Cup-winning heroes.

“It’s been a fantastic journey we’ve been on and now we’re looking to complete the journey in the right way and hopefully win the World Cup.

“I think we’ve got a great chance. I said before the tournament that we were not coming out to Russia NOT to win the World Cup. We are in a great position to go on and win it.

“The players and staff have said we want to create our own stories. It’s 28 years since England got to a semi-final but I don’t think there is anyone in the squad who wasn’t confident we could get to where we are or even further.

“It was other people who said we were not going to get there. But for us in the squad, and the staff, we’ve got that belief, team spirit and confidence to go as far as we want.”

Eric Dier emphasised the buoyant mood in the squad by revealing they are singing their way to victory in Russia – to a tape put together by Southgate and his coaching staff.

The Tottenham midfielder said: “They like a lot of what I call ‘karaoke tunes’ really, ones you can sing along to, old school 80s, 90s.

“There are some good ones in there, the players enjoy listening to them too, they’ve had a few sing-a-longs on the way back from games and hopefully that will continue on Wednesday.”

But Dier appealed to Southgate to pump up the volume for those on the back of the bus.

“They don’t put the volume up very loud, they try to keep the volume enough so that only they can hear it, “ he added. “I don’t know if they’re embarrassed about their music or the speakers are bad but it’s quite hard to hear it at the back of the bus.”

There was more good news for England with midfielder Jordan Henderson being declared fit to face Croatia after coming off with a tight hamstring towards the end of the quarter-final win over Sweden.

‘Red Sonja’ Movie Hires ‘X-Men: First Class’ Screenwriter Ashley Edward Miller https://briefnews.eu/red-sonja-movie-hires-x-men-first-class-screenwriter-ashley-edward-miller/ https://briefnews.eu/red-sonja-movie-hires-x-men-first-class-screenwriter-ashley-edward-miller/#respond Thu, 05 Apr 2018 06:48:28 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/red-sonja-movie-hires-x-men-first-class-screenwriter-ashley-edward-miller/ Red Sonja movie

Millennium Films has found a screenwriter for their big screen take on comic book character Red Sonja. Ashley Edward Miller, who wrote X-Men: First Class, will pen the script for the sword and sorcery epic. More on the Red Sonja movie below.

After Wonder Woman cleaned up at the box office, studios began to catch on that female-driven superhero stories can turn a serious profit. Millennium Films wants in on this action, so they’re going to bring the 1970s comic book character Red Sonja to the screen, and they think they’ve found the right writer to make it happen. Deadline reports Ashley Edward Miller, who wrote Thor, X-Men: First Class, and the upcoming remake of Big Trouble in Little China, will pen the Red Sonja screenplay.

Red Sonja is based on a character created by writer Roy Thomas and artist Barry Windsor Smith for Marvel Comics in 1973, based on Robert E. Howard’s Red Sonya of Rogatino from his 1934 short story The Shadow of the Vulture. As the Marvel Wiki puts it, Red Sonja is “a sword-master in peak human physical condition, martial arts expert, as well as knowledge and experience of fighting the supernatural.” This won’t be the first big screen adventure for the character. There was a 1985 Red Sonja film, directed by Richard Fleischer and starring Brigitte Nielsen and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

A new Red Sonja movie has been knocking-around for a few years now. In 2008, Douglas Aarniokoski was going to direct a Red Sonja movie produced by Robert Rodriguez and starring Rose McGowan. There were even posters created for the film, but this version of the film failed to materialize. In 2011, Megan Fox was in the running to star in a Red Sonja movie, but that, too, never happened. Following that, Con Air director Simon West was floated as a possible director for the flick, with Amber Heard starring. After this version of the film never got off the ground, Red Sonja seemed to be dead. Then, in 2015, Christopher Cosmos was hired to write a new script. Cosmos has no other screenwriting credits, and his draft never got anywhere.

Now, Ashley Edward Miller will attempt to succeed where others have failed. There’s a lot of potential in a title like this, and if done right, it could turn out to be a big hit. Then again, it could also turn out to be like the 2011 Conan the Barbarian reboot starring Jason Momoa, which everyone apparently wants to forget about.

For now, why not enjoy this vintage 1985 Red Sonja trailer, and marvel at how charmingly dated it seems.

Burnley vs Everton LIVE updates: Latest Premier League action from Turf Moor

Everton make the trip to Burnley in today’s early kick off as Sean Dyche seeks to mark his 250th game in charge at Turf Moor with three points.

Burnley extended their winless run to 11 matches in the league after substitute Manolo Gabbiadini’s late goal rescued a point for Southampton in a 1-1 draw last weekend.

Meanwhile Everton have collected 26 out of their 34 points at Goodison Park, with eight wins in 14 games.

Four of those victories came under manager Sam Allardyce who took over from Ronald Koeman in November with Everton two points above the drop zone.

The Merseyside club have since climbed to ninth and are three points behind seventh-placed Burnley.

BURNLEY 2-1 EVERTON

FT: And that’s that. Burnley have solidified their position as ‘best of the rest’ in seventh place with a 2-1 victory over Everton.

The pressure continues to pile on Sam Allardyce while Sean Dyche celebrates his 250th game in charge of the Clarets, who have now reached the 40-point mark.

91: Everton pumping it forward but Burnley have it covered. Lowton takes a stray boot from Niasse as the precious time ticks away.

90: Three minutes of added time here at Turf Moor. It’s going to take something special for the visitors now.

88: This is a sad state of affairs for Everton. The environment is toxic with away fans taking aim at Ashley Williams and Sam Allardyce.

BURNLEY 2-1 EVERTON – RED CARD

85: Now what’s happened here?

Ashley Williams has seen fit to elbow Ashley Barnes in the face when challenging for a corner in Burnley territory.

Referee Chris Kavanagh had no hesitation, and after seeing the replay again, neither do I. Definite sending off.

82: Sam Allardyce is booed by the Everton supporters after he decides to replace Gylfi Sigurdsson with Yannick Bolasie. Not sure why he’s taken their most creative player off.

BURNLEY 2-1 EVERTON – WOOD

79: It was inevitable.

Ashley Williams and Michael Keane have looked lost all afternoon and Chris Wood punishes them with a bullet header.

Wood puts the hosts ahead with a towering far-post header from a Johann Berg Gudmundsson corner.

76: Oumar Niasse goes for an acrobatic bicycle kick but he’s got it horribly wrong and belts it miles over.

73: I don’t quite understand the plan for Everton here. They are just drifting and allowing Burnley possession without any pressure.

69: Everton make a change with Oumar Niasse replacing Cenk Tosun, who’s been anonymous this half.

66: Ashley Barnes continues to terrorise Everton. They can’t cope with him or Chris Wood.

Michael Keane and Ashley Williams get nowhere near a cross but the ball falls awkwardly for Barnes, and Pickford blocks the shot.

63: Ashley Barnes has scored in successive appearances for Burnley in all competitions for the first time since December 2014.

Burnley vs Everton LIVE updates: Latest Premier League action from Turf Moor

60: Everton living dangerously now. It looks like only a matter of time because defensively they are all over the place.

The Toffees manage to scramble away to successive corners.

58: Sam Allardyce makes his first change to try and restore some kind of order. Wayne Rooney on for Tom Davies.

BURNLEY 1-1 EVERTON – BARNES

56: And there’s the equaliser! It’s been coming.

Ashley Barnes, who’s been excellent today, rushes on to a Matt Lowton through pass and slots first-time past Jordan Pickford.

Remember that record about Burnley never winning from losing positions? Well, it might be under threat.

55: A signature Gylfi Sigurdsson free-kick alludes everyone and nearly sneaks in at the far post. Pope didn’t move but made one of those reassuring looks that he knew it was going wide.

54: Jordan Pickford is under siege here at Turf Moor. Everton are clearing their lines but it comes straight back with Tosun isolated and unable to hold the ball up.

51: Pickford to the rescue! Lennon is in acres of space at the back post but the Everton stopper just tips it wide for a corner.

Wood should level things up after Mee rattled the crossbar with a header, but his follow-up goes over.

48: Wood already forces Keane to concede a corner when chasing down a lost cause. Everton manage to scramble it clear after Mee struck at goal.

BURNLEY 0-1 EVERTON

45: And we’re back underway folks. I’m fully expecting Burnley throw the kitchen sink at Everton now.

One change for the hosts. Chris Wood on for Jeff Hendrick. Hope Ashley Williams and Michael Keane have plenty of bandages in the dressing room…

TWITTER ROUND-UP

Paul: Theo Walcott, the unsuccessful experiment of trying to turn a clumsy sprinter into a footballer…

Jonny: A positive performance in the first half and it’s unfortunate to be a goal down; the wide players have performed very well. Pickford has only made one save of note, though, which is disappointing considering the pressure in Everton’s final third.

Dan: Reasonable showing from Everton so far. Big Sam will be happily passing around the chicken drumsticks at half time…

BURNLEY 0-1 EVERTON

HT: The Toffees lead at the break. Cenk Tosun’s clinical finish separates the sides. Burnley will feel aggrieved at trailing, but you’ll pay for being sloppy in front of goal in the league.

Sam Allardyce’s side have shown more in that 45 minutes than they did in the entire game against Watford last week.

44: Not quite sure what Sean Dyche can say to his players at the break. They’ve been excellent in the opening half but simply can’t get the finish touch.

Burnley vs Everton LIVE updates: Latest Premier League action from Turf MoorGETTY

Burnley vs Everton LIVE updates: Latest Premier League action from Turf Moor

42: It’s all getting a bit nasty. Coleman booked for catching Ward.

Close! The ball pings around the Everton penalty area from a free-kick but Mee can’t react quickly enough to prod home.

39: Westwood is the next in to book with a late tackle on Davies. He looks frustrated, and rightly so. Burnley have done more than enough to score.

The Clarets haven’t gone on to win any of the last 53 Premier League games that they have conceded the first goal (W0 D11 L42) – the last time they did was vs Spurs at home on May 9th 2010.

36: Everton counter. Tosun switches the play over to Walcott, who bundles his way forward before tamely shooting at Pope.

35: Ashley Barnes must do better, and I’m not just saying that because he’s in my Fantasy Football team.

Keane gets a long ball forward horribly wrong and Barnes scuffs an attempted lob over Pickford.

32: Outrageous save! Ashley Barnes is wheeling away to celebrate when glancing Lowton’s cross towards goal but Pickford makes a stunning fingertip stop.

30: End-to-end stuff now! Williams makes an excellent block to deny Hendrick on the line, and Walcott nearly grabs a second when breaking down the other end.

27: Few Everton fans getting excited about Tosun now. See some comparing his first club goal compared with something a certain Tim Cahill would have produced.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin booked for a late challenge on Ward.

24: That goal has given Everton some much-needed confidence. The ball breaks kindly for Tosun, who draws a good stop from Pope.

BURNLEY 0-1 EVERTON – TOSUN

21: Cenk Tosun announces himself with a clinical header to put the visitors in front.

Theo Walcott’s cross is flicked-on by Seamus Coleman, who had no business being in the box, and Tosun adjusts his body quickly to powerfully head past Pope.

Burnley vs Everton LIVE updates: Latest Premier League action from Turf MoorREUTERS

Burnley vs Everton LIVE updates: Latest Premier League action from Turf Moor

19: Really?! Burnley haven’t won when falling behind in 53 Premier League games under Sean Dyche. Walcott will be rueing that miss.

Lennon sends Martina to the shops with a crafty turn before cutting it back to Cork, who fires over.

18: Commentators curse. Sigurdsson wiggles his way into the penalty area and lays it on a plate for Walcott. The ex-Arsenal winger swipes it miles over the bar and promptly blames Davies for getting in the way.

15: Not surprising to see a lack of quality in the final third. That observation applies to Burnley because Everton haven’t been in the hosts half yet…

12: Gudmundsson’s been involved in everything today. The midfielder has another crack from range having been found by Barnes, who is getting the better of former team-mate Keane today. It went well wide.

9: Great football from Burnley. Lowton sets off down the right and tees up a beautiful cross for Barnes, who’s narrowly beaten in the air by Keane.

6: Ground staff at Burnley have done a tremendous job. The pitch is nice and the snow doesn’t seem to have affected the zip.

Burnley in the ascendancy with Gudmundsson’s long-ranger gathered easily by Pickford.

3: Everton fans aren’t the type to let weather, performance or results get in the way of a good time. They’re signing their heads off in the packed away section.

Not much to shout about yet in these quiet opening exchanges.

BURNLEY 0-0 EVERTON

1: Right we’re off. Predictions? I’m not too hopeful of goals today, but I notice Ashley Williams is playing so a penalty is inbound. 1-0 Burnley for me.

TWO-MINUTE WARNING

12:28: I know I always mention it but I love that Burnley play “Wake Up” by Arcade Fire as the players emerge from the tunnel.

Nothing fiery about Turf Moor today though folks. It’s obscenely cold.

BURNLEY vs EVERTON

12:25: Quick reminder of those line-ups folks. Not far away from kick off now.

Burnley XI: Pope, Lowton, Tarkowski, Mee, Ward, Cork, Gudmundsson, Westwood, Lennon, Hendrick, Barnes.

Subs: Lindegaard, Nkoudu, Marney, Vokes, Wood, Bardsley, Long.

Everton XI: Pickford, Keane, Williams, Martina, Coleman, Gueye, Sigurdsson, Davies, Calvert-Lewin, Walcott, Tosun.

Subs: Robles, Schneiderlin, Baines, Bolasie, Rooney, Niasse, Holgate.

TWITTER ROUND-UP

Bowers: This should be a great game. One team who can’t score against another who doesn’t want to. 0-0 incoming!

David: Sean Dyche vs. Sam Allardyce: an English manager everyone likes against an English manager no one likes.

Billy: Big day for Cenk Tosun today. Make a name for yourself, put a shift in and bag a couple of goals. Has to be big and tough today. No hiding place for anyone at Turf Moor.

PICKFORD PLEA

12:15: I suppose Jordan Pickford is Everton’s one and only positive this season.

And he’s desperate for Everton to quickly improve their form on the road to ensure a strong finish to a difficult Premier League season.

Everton have collected 26 out of their 34 points at Goodison Park, with eight wins in 14 games, but have one win in 14 games on the road.

“We know our home form is really good, and that we need to improve our record away. That’s where you really shoot right up the table. That’s where we want to be as a team. We can only get better. We need to go and make the fans proud. We are not far away from seventh. We need to go to Turf Moor and try to win. It is always tough to do that there.”

I WON’T CELEBRATE GOOD TIMES… COME ON!

12:10: Just wedged a cheeky Kool & The Gang reference in here. I like to keep things current…

Anyway, Burnley winger Aaron Lennon will not be celebrating if he scores against his old club Everton today.

Asked ahead of this weekend’s game if he would celebrate should he get on the scoresheet, Lennon said: “No. Just because the fans were great for me – they were so supportive through a lot of difficult times. I wouldn’t celebrate if I scored, no.”

Brian: Tough game under harsh weather conditions but Burnley expected to get some points in this one.

Chris: Right, Allardyce said that Tosun can’t cope in the cold weather. So naturally he’s starting during the UK’s coldest period of weather for donkey’s years.

James: Burnley, let’s make sure we match the weather today. Ice cold! No mistakes let’s get this win under our belts!

THE FORM

11:50: Makes grim reading for these two…

Sean Dyche’s Burnley are on an 11-game winless run and have lost five games in that period.

Everton don’t fare much better.

The Toffees have one win in 14 games on the road this season. Last weekend’s 1-0 defeat by Watford was their eighth away defeat of the campaign.

So you might think a 0-0 draw looks certain, BUT none of the seven Premier League games between these two sides have ended in a draw.

Confused? Yep, I have no idea what’s going to happen.

TEAM NEWS – EVERTON

11:40: Big Sam makes three changes from the side who slumped to a 1-0 defeat to Watford last Saturday.

Seamus Coleman returns in place of Jonjo Kenny, while Cenk Tosun is preferred to Oumar Niasse.

Young Dominic Calvert-Lewin starts with Wayne Rooney dropping to the bench.

TEAM NEWS – BURNLEY

11:35: Just the one change for the Clarets with James Tarkowski handed a recall as Kevin Long drops to the bench.

No Scott Arfield in the matchday squad, but Chris Wood is named amongst the substitutes once again.

Aaron Lennon, who left Everton for Burnley in January, starts for the hosts. Will he come back to haunt his former club?

GOOD MORNING

11:25: Welcome to our LIVE coverage of Burnley vs Everton from a freezing Turf Moor.

Three cheers for the Burnley ground staff, who have been working tirelessly to make sure this fixture takes place.

I’m sure the majority of supporters who lose their fingers to frostbite will thank them…

Anyway, enough about the weather, let’s have the line-ups.

BURNLEY vs EVERTON – PREVIEW

Burnley’s fit-again defender James Tarkowski could be involved after stepping up his recovery from a groin problem by playing a midweek friendly against Preston.

Goalkeeper Tom Heaton also played in that game after a long lay-off caused by a shoulder problem and may have a role to play. Midfielder Scott Arfield (calf) is set to be unavailable.

On-loan defender Eliaquim Mangala is unlikely to play for Everton again this season because of a knee injury. Fellow defenders Seamus Coleman (thigh), Leighton Baines (ankle) and Phil Jagielka are expected to return to the squad this weekend.

However, the game arrives too soon for centre-back Ramiro Funes Mori, who is set to play for the under-23s again as he builds up his fitness after spending 10 months out with a knee injury.

Last season: Everton 3 Burnley 1, Burnley 2 Everton 1

Last five league matches: Burnley L D D L D; Everton D W L W L

Top scorers (all competitions): Chris Wood (Burnley) 6; Wayne Rooney (Everton) 11

Referee: Chris Kavanagh (Lancashire).

Celebrity Big Brother 2018: Ashley James flashes assets in hot tub with Jess Impiazzi https://briefnews.eu/celebrity-big-brother-2018-ashley-james-flashes-assets-in-hot-tub-with-jess-impiazzi/ https://briefnews.eu/celebrity-big-brother-2018-ashley-james-flashes-assets-in-hot-tub-with-jess-impiazzi/#respond Sun, 28 Jan 2018 03:13:39 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/celebrity-big-brother-2018-ashley-james-flashes-assets-in-hot-tub-with-jess-impiazzi/

Since her Celebrity Big Brother co-star, Ginuwine, was evicted earlier in the week, Ashley has let her hair down and has really started to have some fun in the famous house.

Tonight’s instalment saw the usual blonde beauty transform her luscious locks with a slick of hair dye.

Ashley, 30, is now a pink poppet thanks to Malika Haqq’s talent for hairdressing.

And it seemed the Made In Chelsea star was keen to celebrate her new ‘do by stripping off to her skimpy bikini with the other girls.

Ashley, Malika, Jess and Courtney Act – AKA Shane Janek – donned their smallest swim suits for a quick dip in the hot tub.

The girls enjoyed their evening which came before last night’s shocking triple eviction.

Andrew Brady, Dapper Laughs – AKA Daniel O’Reilly – and Jonny Mitchell all left the Borehamwood bungalow after being evicted by the voting public.

Before the elimination, Ashley spent some quality time with two of the boys as she enjoyed a small pampering session.

Wearing her new pink hair in two cute braids, the Radio DJ wore a gold face mask – but the session ended in disaster.

The beauty product proved difficult to remove as she screamed in agony as she pulled at the edges.

Ashley yelled: “Ow it really hurts! This is the bit they don’t show you on Instagram.

“I reckon Instagram models don’t have hairy faces.”

It seemed that the reality star seemed unable to take the pain and screamed: “I’m just going to have to stay like this.”

Ashley begged Daniel and Andrew to help as she said: “This is going to be so painful!”

Poor Ashley had tears in her eyes as the boys ripped the mask off to leave her skin looking fresh and clean.

Celebrity Big Brother airs weekdays on Channel 5 from 9pm.

Celebrity Big Brother 2018: Ashley James left ‘terrified' as Ginuwine tries to seduce her https://briefnews.eu/celebrity-big-brother-2018-ashley-james-left-terrified-as-ginuwine-tries-to-seduce-her/ https://briefnews.eu/celebrity-big-brother-2018-ashley-james-left-terrified-as-ginuwine-tries-to-seduce-her/#respond Mon, 15 Jan 2018 05:52:11 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/celebrity-big-brother-2018-ashley-james-left-terrified-as-ginuwine-tries-to-seduce-her/

The former Made In Chelsea star was mortified when the musician tried to entice her with a sexually suggestive song.

In scenes aired last night, Giuwine, 47, was seen serenading Ashley with sexual lyrics as he pointed at his genitals.

His actions worried the DJ, who then confided in her female housemates about the situation.

Ashley, 30, admitted: “I’m slightly terrified, pointing and singing ’tonight is the night’ for ages.

“He’s not getting any! I don’t take s*** from no one. It was fun and flirting and innocent. Now, I’m like ‘I don’t want to do that.’”

An equally horrified Rachel Johnson, 52, told the blonde beauty she hoped Ginuwine was only kidding.

She said: “That’s not how you seduce a lady! Tell me it’s not serious. What would your mum say?”

Romance looked to be on the cards for Ashley and Ginuwine as they have cuddled and flirted since entering the house.

But later Ashley told some of her male housemates that she needed to “protect herself” from any heartache.

She said: “He said he’s a womaniser. This isn’t flirting fun, I need to protect myself. I know it’s in my insecurities.

“I have put all my past into it and I’m like run, run, run. The moment I sense anything, I’m gone. Now I’m being that pathetic person reading into everything.”

On social media, a vast majority of viewers branded the singer “creepy” and inappropriate.

One wrote on Twitter: “Ginuwine is a bit cringe isn’t he? Man gives me the creeps #CBB.”

“Ginuwine is making me feel uncomfortable with how he is acting with Ashley #CBB,” added another.

A third commented: “If any bloke spoke to me the way Ginuwine is talking to Ashley he’d get a swift kick in the crotch.”

Celebrity Big Brother continues tonight at 9pm on Channel 5.
