Artist ultraraw26 has been providing fans with plenty of unofficial designs for the upcoming movie, and their latest is quite the jaw-dropper.

It shows Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr) holding up Thanos’s decapitated head, and even though the Mad Titan is a fictional CGI beast, it’s still quite unsettling to look at.

Scroll down to see it in all its glory.

Judging by the picture’s caption when shared on Instagram, it’s a direct reference to something Thanos himself told Thor at the end of Avengers: Infinity War.

When Thor fails at the last moment to prevent the Snap, Thanos tells him: “You should have gone for the head.”

So this, it seems, is precisely what Tony Stark does in the artist’s impression of the next film.

The snap has had 32,000 Likes on Instagram since being shared over the weekend, surpassing another incredible image the same artist shared just weeks ago.

One of ultraraw26’s previous efforts saw all of the victims of the Snap inside the Soul Stone, with Thanos looming overhead.

From King T’Challa to Scarlet Witch, Doctor Strange to Spider-Man, the population of the Stone was considerably high, due to the death toll at the end of Infinity War.

As it stands, the events of Avengers 4 remain a total mystery – with even the official title being kept under wraps for now.

Marvel will presumably be keeping their cards very close to their chest in the run-up to the blockbuster’s release next spring, especially seeing as Infinity War ended on such a spectacular cliffhanger.

Fans’ next visit to the MCU will be in the 1990s-set Captain Marvel, which will properly introduce Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers to proceedings.

After Avengers 4, Spider-Man: Far From Home will be the next movie on the slate; due for release next summer.

Following that, things become a little more unclear: it was recently claimed that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 is on hold following the controversial firing of director James Gunn.

A report late last week suggested crew members are being told they can look for other work while pre-production is put to one side.

Avengers 4 is out on April 26, 2018.

The French team were a picture of happiness when they arrived at their team hotel on the outskirts of Moscow to discover personalized paintings staring back at them from their room doors.

Members of the French squad took to social media to share the stunning pictures which adorned the doors and walls at the Hilton Garden Inn just outside the Russian capital, where the team will be based throughout the World Cup in Russia.

Attacking star Antoine Griezmann was looking picture-perfect in his image, and was clearly impressed with the likeness.

The hotel staff had clearly given plenty of thought to welcoming their distinguished guests, dispensing with the traditional room numbers to put full-length images of the players on the doors and walls.

Defender Benjamin Pavard also posted the passionate image facing him on his room door.

Atletico Madrid defender Lucas Hernandez shared the stunning painting on his door which showed him in a celebratory pose which he’ll be hoping to adopt plenty of times in Russia this summer.

Fellow squad members Benjamin Mendy and Kylian Mbappe took to Instagram to share their pictures, as well as personalized matryoshka dolls waiting for them inside their rooms.

The much-fancied French squad touched down in the Russian capital on Sunday.

They 1998 World Cup winners have been drawn in a group with Denmark, Australia and Peru, and open their campaign against the Socceroos at Kazan Arena on Saturday.

Theme Park Bits – Overnight Parking Fees for Disney World Hotel Guests, New Pixar Pier Artwork and Videos https://briefnews.eu/theme-park-bits-overnight-parking-fees-for-disney-world-hotel-guests-new-pixar-pier-artwork-and-videos/ https://briefnews.eu/theme-park-bits-overnight-parking-fees-for-disney-world-hotel-guests-new-pixar-pier-artwork-and-videos/#respond Mon, 19 Mar 2018 12:56:23 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/theme-park-bits-overnight-parking-fees-for-disney-world-hotel-guests-new-pixar-pier-artwork-and-videos/

In this edition of Theme Park Bits:

  • Free overnight parking at Walt Disney World hotels will soon be a thing of the past.
  • See videos and new concept images of the upcoming Pixar Fest and Pixar Pier at Disneyland Resort.
  • See a talking doughnut interview Voodoo Doughnut’s founders before it comes to Universal Orlando.
  • A $ 100-million, deeply immersive theater project involving an alt-rock icon is headed for Las Vegas.
  • Are you ready to have Disney monitor your fear level and adjust your ride experience accordingly?
  • And more!

In a move that is sure to inspire angry mobs of tire-iron-wielding hotel guests, Walt Disney World has decided to do away with free overnight parking at its hotels. Reports began circulating this week and were soon confirmed via an official announcement to authorized travel agents.

The change will go into effect for new reservations going forward from March 21. Only disabled guests, Fort Wilderness campers, and Disney Vacation Club members will be exempt from having to pay. Depending on the class of hotel you stay in, the overnight parking fee will range from $ 13 to $ 24 per night.

Kiss the auctioned-off redhead goodbye. California’s Disneyland has announced temporary closure dates for its version of the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction. From April 23 to June 7, the ride will undergo refurbishment to remove the scene in which an audio-animatronic woman was sold into slavery.

Now the redhead will actually take up a rifle to lead the auction. I feel like there must be some sort of Westworld joke to be made here, what with the parallels between the redhead and Dolores Abernathy, the newly empowered robot revolt leader, who can also be seen brandishing a rifle in the Season 2 trailer for that show. These violent delights have violent ends?

Oh My Disney has shared a first look at “Together Forever,” the new nighttime spectacular coming to Disneyland, which includes fireworks and projection mapping themed to friendship in Pixar stories.

Over at Disney California Adventure, WDW News Today reports that the World of Color show will halt the same day the new Paint the Night parade debuts in order to facilitate the construction of Pixar Pier.

If you want to know what to expect from Pixar Pier, Disney and More has a deep dive with new concept art and videos of the upcoming land, which includes bits of elaborate theming such as a quick-service restaurant designed to resemble “a huge carton of take-out chicken.”

Inside the Magic has details on the new food and merchandise offerings that will be available at Disneyland Resort during Pixar Fest this spring. At the Contemporary Resort in Walt Disney World, parents can now make reservations to have their kids babysat by characters from Toy Story and The Incredibles in the new Pixar Play Zone.

Universal Orlando has bumped up ticket prices for its Volcano Bay water park. Meanwhile, Universal City Walk is prepping for the grand opening of Voodoo Doughnut by having a sentient doughnut interview the founders of the novelty doughnut chain.

Dubbed the Time Traveler, “the world’s fastest, steepest, and tallest spinning coaster” has opened at Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri.

Inside the Magic has a cool little POV video clip of the Taumata Racer water slide at Aquatica San Antonio.

Lollapalooza founder Perry Farrell’s two bands, Jane’s Addiction and Porno for Pyros, and other big-name musical acts will perform (some of them holographically) at a new immersive theater hub in Las Vegas called Kind Heaven beginning in 2019. Here’s a description of the experience, via Deadline:

Kind Heaven will combine RF technology, Hollywood-style storytelling and wearable tech to immerse visitors in a personalized, exotic journey that offers the best of Southeast Asian culture, music, food, danger, fashion, exoticism, exploration, mystery and spiritual enlightenment.

In permit and patent news, Disneyland has reportedly filed a permit for a “new exit passageway and stairs to be built backstage at Space Mountain.” But the real kicker is that Disney has also filed a patent for a technology that would allow it to monitor physical indications of fright and then tailor the intensity of the ride experience to individuals based on how scared (or not scared enough) they are.

This almost sounds like something out of Monsters, Inc., with workers monitoring scare-o-meters in a control room. Guests would need to sign a waiver if this fear-based ride technology ever comes to pass in the parks, but some of the monitoring could already conceivably be done by way of the MagicBands people wear on their wrists.

The Splitsville Luxury Lanes bowling and dining complex is now open in the Downtown Disney District.

Who remembers flying through an icy comet in the original version of Star Tours? Apparently, writer-director Rian Johnson does, because he based the crystal caverns in Star Wars: The Last Jedi on that extinct ride scene.

At Epcot, the “Guardians of the Galaxy – Awesome Mix Live!” concert series is set to run from June 9 to August 19. Fans can look forward to hearing some of their favorite songs from the movie soundtracks live.

Elsewhere in Walt Disney World, veteran Imagineer Joe Rohde is among the names slated to speak at Animal Kingdom’s new Tiffins Talks Dining Experience.

WDW News Today has posted an in-depth review of new menu items at Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar in Disney Springs.

On Thursdays and Saturdays from June 21 to August 11, Toy Story characters will be throwing a beach party in Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon, as the water park hosts an after-hours event called “H20 Glow Nights.” When Toy Story Land opens on June 30, Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be getting in on the glow action, too, with light-up Little Green Men headbands whose eyes move.

Fans of the Citrus Swirl at the Magic Kingdom’s Sunshine Tree Terrace stand might not need to start a Change.org petition, after all. The float and cup were replaced on the menu this week with vegan-friendly “Orange Swirl” items, only for them to resurface days later.

Get ready for a whole new crop of construction photos and videos in the coming months. The building of TRON Lightcycle Power Run is now underway at the Magic Kingdom, which means that we can probably expect a lot of videos like the one above, in which a train horn toots sedately as a camera zooms in on trees. Behind the trees, you can see something … maybe? If you squint?

Pupil ‘angry & upset’ after school ‘censors’ her same-sex love artwork https://briefnews.eu/pupil-angry-upset-after-school-censors-her-same-sex-love-artwork/ https://briefnews.eu/pupil-angry-upset-after-school-censors-her-same-sex-love-artwork/#respond Fri, 12 Jan 2018 15:43:06 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/pupil-angry-upset-after-school-censors-her-same-sex-love-artwork/ A school is facing a backlash after it “censored” a GCSE pupil’s final art project because it showed lesbian couples kissing. Megan Angus told RT the move was “homophobic.”

Angus, 16, who is a pupil at Laurence Jackson School in Guisborough, North Yorkshire, says she was left “angry and upset” when she found seven “censored” stickers plastered all over her final GCSE art project.

She completed her GCSE art course with an illustration of girls, some completely naked and others in lingerie, kissing and embracing in intimate moments.

Angus says censoring discriminates against the LGBTQ community, and told RT: “I am upset because it took me so long to do.

“If it was a man or a woman they wouldn’t have done anything about that.

“They claim that every child can express themselves, but they then go and do that and set themselves back,” she added.

She said she had attempted to report the issue to the school, but that the head teacher had failed to ring her back.

The 16-year-old decided to raise the complaint with news publication Gazette Live, which decided to run a story on the incident. Outraged Angus, who has since left the school to work as a lifeguard, told the Gazette: “I can’t see why they censored it.

“When you go to an art gallery, they don’t censor them there. I wanted my work to be shown how I left it.”

She explained she had chosen the ‘out of place’ category for her final art assignment, hence the choice of subject.

“We had to do an outsider piece and had five options,” Angus said. “I did same-sex relationships as they seem to be out of place in society.

“I wanted to get across that it shouldn’t be frowned upon and it shows girls can be together. It is something I feel passionate about.”

The school’s spokesman has since admitted the censoring may have been “overzealous” but added that any “sexually explicit” content gets removed, regardless of what it stands for. They dismissed accusations of the stickers being homophobic.

“Due to the sexually explicit nature of some of the drawings in the student’s work, a censored strip of paper was Blu-tacked over these areas,” the spokesman said.

“As a secondary school, we needed to be mindful of the impact this may have on younger students. This piece of artwork contributed positively to the student achieving a good grade at GCSE.”

Spotify tries using video loops as song artwork https://briefnews.eu/spotify-tries-using-video-loops-as-song-artwork/ https://briefnews.eu/spotify-tries-using-video-loops-as-song-artwork/#respond Sat, 06 Jan 2018 13:27:07 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/spotify-tries-using-video-loops-as-song-artwork/

Usually when you tap the now-playing bar while listening to Spotify on your phone, it brings up a static image related to the song you’re playing. But today, Music Ally noticed that one song on the New Music Friday playlist, Superorganism’s “Everybody Wants To Be Famous,” instead featured a looped video in the background rather than the typical artwork. The video, which multiple Engadget reporters have also now spotted on their Spotify accounts, lasts through the entirety of the song and is credited to Superorganism.

We reached out to Spotify to see if this is something we might be seeing more of, but a spokesperson for the company said that they had nothing to announce at this time. So it appears this is just a test. None of the other songs on the New Music Friday US playlist currently has an accompanying video and the feature doesn’t seem to extend to the desktop app.

Spotify has been pretty proactive in its efforts to engage its users. Its various personalized playlists and the multiple ways it brings new music to its listeners have been popular features for the music streaming service. Adding some video to songs could be another way to draw in users.

Spotify, which recently hit 70 million subscribers, has made some interesting moves of late. It acquired Soundtrap in November and has shaken up its own video and podcast strategy following a change of leadership. It also just took steps towards becoming a publicly traded company. So interesting new features might soon become even more valuable to the company as it continues to face mounting competition from rivals like Apple.

Will Britain get its share of EU’s 42,000 bottles of wine & £13mn artwork after Brexit? https://briefnews.eu/will-britain-get-its-share-of-eus-42000-bottles-of-wine-13mn-artwork-after-brexit/ https://briefnews.eu/will-britain-get-its-share-of-eus-42000-bottles-of-wine-13mn-artwork-after-brexit/#respond Thu, 14 Dec 2017 16:24:19 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/will-britain-get-its-share-of-eus-42000-bottles-of-wine-13mn-artwork-after-brexit/

Britain must get its fair share of the EU’s 42,000 bottles of wine and fine art worth £13 million ($ 17.4 million) during Brexit negotiations, Tory Brexiteer Sir Edward Leigh has said. He urged ministers to “promise to take back control” of the collections.

British negotiators are expected to demand around 5,000 bottles of wine, 250 bottles of spirits, and £2 million ($ 2.7 million) worth of artwork. Top priorities, you see.

Speaking in the Commons on Thursday, the veteran MP said that the alcohol and art should not be left for Jean-Claude Juncker, the European Commission president, to “enjoy.” Leigh told MPs: “The EU is estimated to have a wine cellar of over 42,000 bottles and artwork worth more than £13 million ($ 17.4 million), some might say metaphorically looted from the capitals of Europe. After we leave the party, will the minister promise to take back control of our fair share of this art and wine and not leave it for Mr Juncker to enjoy?”

Brexit Minister Robin Walker replied: “[Leigh] raises a very interesting question – the legal basis of those assets and liabilities have been analyzed in detail and accounted for in the overall settlement. The scope of the settlement is laid out in the joint report.”

Working out Britain’s liabilities and assets was integral to calculating the Brexit divorce bill. The final tally is set to be up to £39 billion ($ 52.25 billion). Brexiteers insist Britain has many assets inside the EU which should be offset against outstanding liabilities.

It comes as Prime Minister Theresa May heads to Brussels for a crucial meeting, at which she hopes EU leaders will approve the start of Brexit trade talks. She suffered a humiliating defeat on Wednesday night as an amendment to the EU Withdrawal Bill, allowing MPs a guaranteed say on the Brexit deal struck with Brussels, was backed by 309 MPs, while 305 supported the bill remaining unchanged. A total of 11 Tory MPs staged the rebellion, demanding a “meaningful” vote on the final settlement.

Ministers admitted that Wednesday night’s defeat was a “significant setback” but insisted it would not frustrate the Brexit process. Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, however, described it as a “humiliating loss of authority” and said “parliament has asserted itself” amid a “power grab” by May.

Floyd Mayweather must be running out of ways to spend his soaring cash. The 50-0 record holder commemorated his hard-earned retirement with a giant portrait of his final opponent, Conor McGregor.

Mayweather revealed the ‘“exclusive timeless piece of artwork” that’s hanging in his Beverly Hills home Tuesday.

While Mr McGregor appeared to give his seal of approval in the form of an Instagram ‘like’, those on Twitter were less convinced of Mayweather’s motivations.

The fight earned Mayweather an unprecedented $ 350 million, and carried him to 50 wins, eclipsing Rocky Marciano’s career record of 49-0.

Post-match Mayweather also praised the UFC fighter for being “a lot better than I thought he was”, so it’s possible the portrait is out of respect for a successful salute into retirement.
