Meghan Markle, who officially goes by Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, has been a member of the Royal Family since May.

She married Prince Harry, the Queen’s grandson, in a lavish ceremony watched by millions.

However, Meghan was once living a very different life with a different man.

The former actress, who starred as the sexy love interest in a cable drama, was once married to a movie producer.

Meghan Markle, from LA, California, began dating Trevor Engelson, now 41, from Great Neck, New York, in 2004, when Meghan was 23-years-old and he was 28.

The couple were together for seven years before the actress married the Jewish producer in a ceremony in Jamaica on September 10, 2011 in Ocho Rios, Jamaica.

However, the marriage was not to last and they separated 18 months later.

Body language expert Judi James analysed images of the couple exclusively for Express.co.uk.

She claims the pair “planned their posing to mirror the kind of A-list power couple body language that we’d see from some of the leading Hollywood couples.”

This is perhaps unsurprising, since the producer and actress were surrounded by the trappings of Hollywood during their relationship.

Judi said: “Trevor and Meghan are adopting body language that looks choreographed to create the ideal effect rather than being spontaneous and loving.”

The producer, who is known for working on Remember Me in 2010 with Twilight’s Robert Pattinson, fills the “co-star” role for his actress girlfriend.

“Trevor looks very much in co-star mode here with Meghan’s poses showing she is the leading lady and the one to the front in the spotlight,” Judi added.

“While Trevor stands rather woodenly with a stretched, fixed smile and one hand in his pocket to suggest nonchalance, Meghan converses with the cameras rather than him, throwing a very direct and meaningful glance and perfect smile while she stands to the front of the pose with her body facing the photographers.

“The couple might have placed their arms around one another’s waists but there is little if any form of tie-sign or connection between them here.”

She adds: “(Trevor) might have been happy to let Meghan step out to the front and do her own thing alone.”

In another picture the couple appear to stand closer together, but Meghan’s focus is on the cameras, Judi claims.

The expert said: “This is a much closer-looking pose in terms of attention and rapport, but it still shows Meghan holding the cameras with her eye contact and her smile and ‘posing off’ her husband rather than the pair paying one another active attention.

“Their torsos are facing here and Meghan has pressed her head up against her husband’s chin but although Trevor’s left arm seems to be part raised in a truncated gesture that could have been the offer of a cuddle or touch, Meghan’s free arm is held straight down at her side to create a better body pose.

“With her slightly raised shoulder and the way she smiles over this shoulder gesture suggests she is keen to show us her love for her husband here though.”

Why did Meghan Markle divorce Trevor Engelson?

The divorce document cites the commonly used reason of “irreconcilable differences” for their split.

Meghan Markle and Trevor Engelson’s wedding was a sun-bathed affair, taking place in Jamaica.

Unlike her royal wedding day, Meghan relaxed by the pool wearing a bikini with her mother before she wed Trevor.

They pair said their vows on the beach and Meghan wore a simple strapless gown with a plunging neckline and sparkling silver dress.

Meghan Markle attended Hamilton at the theatre with Prince Harry recently.

Can you guess how much her stunning outfit for the special gala performance cost?

Who is Meghan Markle? Quick profile

Meghan Markle was born Rachel Meghan Markle, on August 4, 1981 to parents Doria Ragland and father Thomas Markle.

Her father was previously married to Roslyn Loveless and Meghan has two elder half sibling – sister Samantha Markle and brother Thomas Markle Junior.

Actress

Meghan’s first television appearance in the USA was in an episode of the medical drama General Hospital in 2002.

She later moved on to roles in CSI, Without a Trace and Castle along with bit parts in Hollywood films including Get Him to the Greek, Remember Me and Horrible Bosses.

Meghan was also a “briefcase girl” on Deal or No Deal – but her most famous role was as Rachel Zane in legal drama Suits, which launched in 2011.

She was written out in the finale of the seventh series when her character got married, which aired in April 2018 – just before she got married herself.

Charity and humanitarian work

Meghan Markle’s career in television has gone hand-in-hand with her support for causes close to her heart.

She wrote about the stigma around menstrual health in an article for Time magazine and was a Global Ambassador for World Vision Canada – with whom she travelled to Rwanda for the charity’s Clean Water Campaign.

And her commitment to gender equality has seen her work with the United Nations – receiving a standing ovation in 2015 for her speech to mark International Women’s Day.

Relationships

In September 2011, she wed film producer Trevor Engelson, who she began dating in 2004.

But the pair divorced two years later in August 2013, citing irreconcilable difference.

She was in a relationship with celebrity chef Cory Vitiello for almost two years, before they broke it off in 2016 but the two remain good friends.

And in June 2016, she met Prince Harry on a blind date set up by a mutual friend.

Their relationship began in October that year and just over one year later, on November 27, 2017, the pair announced their engagement.

They married on May 19, 2018 at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.

Meghan’s heritage

Some have claimed Meghan Markle is the first mixed-race member of the Royal Family.

Historians are still arguing about Queen Charlotte, the wife of King George III.

But Meghan will be the first royal to openly embrace a mixed-race heritage.

She has written about the difficulties of being a biracial actress in Hollywood as she claims she is not black enough for some roles and not white enough for others.

Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank body language analysed: What is relationship like? https://briefnews.eu/princess-eugenie-and-jack-brooksbank-body-language-analysed-what-is-relationship-like/ https://briefnews.eu/princess-eugenie-and-jack-brooksbank-body-language-analysed-what-is-relationship-like/#respond Sat, 18 Aug 2018 06:54:45 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/princess-eugenie-and-jack-brooksbank-body-language-analysed-what-is-relationship-like/

Princess Eugenie is the daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, both 58.

As a granddaughter of the Queen, her love life has been closely watched by the public.

It was revealed in January that she would be marrying her boyfriend of eight years Jack Brooksbank, 32, a drinks ambassador.

They appeared in an engagement interview with the BBC at the time. What does a body language expert say about the couple?

Judi James exclusively told Express.co.uk that the couple seem very in love, with “sexy” Eugenie leading “shy” Jack.

The husband-to-be seemed very happy to be announcing his engagement to Eugenie.

Judi said: “Eugenie and Jack smiled openly almost non-stop through their interview and many of the smiles looked impossible to repress, which is often a symptom of the rather bashful early stages of love.

“Jack in particular wore kind of the rounded and raised cheeks that signal genuine happiness and at times his cheeks even turned pink to show shyness too.”

Eugenie appeared more self-assured in front of the camera’s, according to the body language expert.

She said: “Eugenie’s rather husky, sexy voice and her more assured body language suggests she will be the more powerful partner although she used several lowering signals to make her fiancé feel more dominant, like tilting her head towards his chest, touching her own hand to her chest in a gesture of coyness and even bending her knees as she laughed or spoke to self-diminish.

“The pair used pinging eye contact as they spoke as though checking each statement out with one another and Eugenie often smiled and nodded encouragement to flatter Jack when he spoke.”

Jack seems somewhat different to Andrew and Prince Harry is some respects, according to Judi.

“Eugenie and Jack’s body language shows a younger couple rather sweetly in love, especially Jack who lacks the signals of alpha machismo that Andrew and Harry learnt in the forces.

“Jack stood square to the interviewer with his arms rather self-consciously straight to his sides and the biggest PDA of this interview was the joined hands with meshed fingers that showed mutual levels of love and reassurance.”

Princess Eugenie’s bridesmaids will include a pop star’s daughter.

Angels singer Robbie will surely be thrilled that his daughter Theordora Rose, five, has been chosen, according to sources.

Robbie and his wife Ayda Field are thought to be friends with the bride.

How will Princess Eugenie’s royal role change when she marries Jack Brooksbank?

It has also been reported that Jack will not receive a title upon his marriage to Eugenie.

Donald Trump and Melania’s inauguration body language analysed one year later https://briefnews.eu/donald-trump-and-melanias-inauguration-body-language-analysed-one-year-later/ https://briefnews.eu/donald-trump-and-melanias-inauguration-body-language-analysed-one-year-later/#respond Sat, 20 Jan 2018 08:21:54 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/donald-trump-and-melanias-inauguration-body-language-analysed-one-year-later/

Donald Trump, 71, celebrated his inauguration on January 20, 2017.

On the day he and his wife put on their first presidential display, as former-model Melania Trump, 47, made her premiere outing as First Lady.

The Slovenian-born mother of Donald’s 11-year-old son Barron channelled Jackie O in a powder blue skirt suit. She later changed into a glamorous white gown to dance with her husband in the evening.

Since, the couple have appeared many times together, and their relationship has weathered much scrutiny with all eyes on the pair.

Author and body language expert Judi James analysed the couple on their inauguration, and claimed there were hidden clues as to how the pair would handle the presidency.

She said: “Looking back at Donald and Melania’s inauguration body language a year down the line allows us a clearer view without the filter of the comparison of the body language of the outgoing POTUS and his FLOTUS.”

Melania stood by Donald’s side as he took the oath of office, looking the model first lady in a blue Ralph Lauren with long gloves in a matching colour and her usually tousled and glamorous hair tied back.

The couple were snapped in a solemn pose, which Judi said “would have been puzzling on the day”.

She said: “Both their expressions are dour and the way Trump face-checks his wife suggests he’s concerned that she’s not happy. The hand-hold is less about affection and more about reassurance or even rallying someone.

“There have been recent assertions that Melania was shocked and worried when her husband won the election and this act of what looks like concern from Trump might fit with that suggestion.”

Later, in her white dress, Melania looked undeniably beautiful, a fact Donald seemed to revel in, according to Judi.

Referring to an image of the President gazing at his waving wife, she said: “This pose was so classic ‘trophy wife’ that it’s hard to read anything else into it.

“While Melania stands looking utterly beautiful and offering a modest-looking wave Trump leans forward watching her and smiling like the host of a beauty queen pageant.”

This is a role that Donald may be familiar with as the former owner of Miss USA.

“This pose suggests he is admiring his wife for her beauty rather than her intellect and his frowning smile and active attention suggests he might see that as the ultimate compliment anyway,” Judi added.

A close up of the couple during a dance displays the big personality Donald Trump is known for, and he makes sure all eyes are on him, according to Judi, who revealed: “This pose is all about Donald as we still know him.”

The body language expert explained: “Rather than get lost in the pose with his wife he can’t help using their dance as a way of drawing attention onto himself.”

However, there is a subtle hint at Melania’s dominance in the relationship, despite Donald’s overt gestures.

“Melania looks happily passive here but that hand on the chest could also be a gesture of control and ownership.”

This may have been one clue that the public could expect to see the signs of prompting Melania has given Donald throughout the year, which have amused the public.

“She has been seen using quite dominant hand gestures as tie-signs with her husband over the past year (like the hand-swat rejection of his hand or a hefty nudge in the ribs when he forgot to place his hand on his chest) so this partial control gesture could suggest more dominance than we thought,” Judi explained.

While many saw Donald as the ultimate brash businessman on the day of his election, the couple’s body language shows the business tycoon may defer to his wife more than is immediately apparent.

“Melania seemed to hang behind her husband who seemed to dislike sharing his new power as a world leader,” Judi explained.

However, “Although Melania hasn’t exactly made huge strides in terms of establishing them as a power couple there have been some intriguing hints from their body language since the inauguration that she might be more quietly dominant than we thought and she has even choreographed the odd public kiss from the President, meaning there could have been clues about their team dynamic that were hiding in plain sight back on the day.”

Prince William body language analysed as he talks about Princess Diana's bulimia battle https://briefnews.eu/prince-william-body-language-analysed-as-he-talks-about-princess-dianas-bulimia-battle/ https://briefnews.eu/prince-william-body-language-analysed-as-he-talks-about-princess-dianas-bulimia-battle/#respond Fri, 25 Aug 2017 09:12:17 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/prince-william-body-language-analysed-as-he-talks-about-princess-dianas-bulimia-battle/

Prince William, 34, met Mark Austin, 58, and his daughter Maddy, 17, in Kensington Palace on Channel 4 documentary Wasting Away: The Truth About Anorexia.

William told them: “The fact you are speaking out is incredibly brave, but it should become very normal.”

Princess Diana is known to have suffered from bulimia, so this is an issue very close to the Prince’s heart.

Opening up about his views on mental health the Prince said: “I really hope that George and Charlotte (his two children) can grow up in a world where mental health is normalised and we can all talk about this very open and honestly, and the fact we can talk about stuff and it’s not a weakness, it’s an illness and is spoken about just like a broken leg, can we get it fixed?”

TV body language expert and author of The Body Language Bible Judi James analysed Prince William’s body language on the touching television programme.

“It was clear from Prince William’s body language in his rather touching appearance on Mark Austen’s documentary about anorexia that he wasn’t just speaking as a royal ambassador but as someone who has personally suffered the pain of feeling ‘helpless about people you love most in life’,” Judi said.

William’s personal experience and his empathy was revealed through a series of body language expressions.

He mimicked his mother Princess Diana during his talk with Maddy, using an eye-widening gesture that his mother often performed, according to Judi.

She said: “We absorb many of our gestures and facial expressions from our parents and as William spoke to Mark’s daughter his eyes widened and rounded in a way that was clearly similar to Diana’s sympathetic signals in a caring role.

“His mother was able to use her own problems and experiences to offer empathetic help and in this role as he spoke to Maddy William used subconscious mimicry to get the same caring messages across.”

A number of actions showed William’s personal pain we it comes to discussing the issue of eating disorders. He displayed the helplessness and anxiety caused by having a loved one who is struggling with mental health disorders.

Judi said: “When he spoke about the ‘slippery slope’ that eating disorders can go down he mimed the slope with his hands, followed by a shoulder-shrug of helplessness and an anxious picking gesture with his hand.”

William’s emotions resonated with Mark Austin, who mirrored his gestures.

She said: “He mentioned not knowing what to do at the time and his eyes moved to a gaze associated with recalled memory as he shook his head and performed a partial, truncated gesture to place both hands on his chest.

“A flat-hand chest pat can suggest power but William only touched his chest with the fingertips of one hand, suggesting a sense of powerlessness. This clearly resonated with Mark who precisely mirrored both the chest-touch gesture and William’s raised brows and wide eyes at this point.”

A number of Prince William’s gestures revealed the anger that he may have felt dealing with his mother’s eating disorder as a younger person.

Judi said: “William used two strong signals of anger and frustration when he spoke about the pain of eating disorders. When he mentioned how it ‘festers’ his face contorted in a micro-gesture of anger and after he talked about the ‘slippery slope’ he performed a small tongue-poke, with the tip of his tongue appearing from the front of his lips.

“This is a gesture often associated with rejection and even disgust.”

Prince William still struggles to open up about his past, demonstrates by his body language, Judi claims.

“Despite his willingness to talk openly about problems that must have been very personal to him, William used two barrier gestures to suggest a desire to guard or protect himself, suggesting he is still struggling with opening up in detail,” she said.

“He laid his right arm along the arm of the chair between himself and his guests and as he spoke his right hand was held splayed with the palm facing his torso.”

The Prince and Kate gave a joint interview after their engagement in 2010. What does their body language tell us about the romance?

Man Utd transfer special: Deals for Morata, Ronaldo, Lewandowski and more analysed https://briefnews.eu/man-utd-transfer-special-deals-for-morata-ronaldo-lewandowski-and-more-analysed/ https://briefnews.eu/man-utd-transfer-special-deals-for-morata-ronaldo-lewandowski-and-more-analysed/#respond Wed, 21 Jun 2017 13:55:10 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/man-utd-transfer-special-deals-for-morata-ronaldo-lewandowski-and-more-analysed/

Yes, in an ideal world, they would no doubt like the German striker and Real Madrid superstar – which top team wouldn’t? – but neither deal is, realistically, going to happen.

United have denied suggestions they have had preliminary talks with Lewandowski’s representatives following claims he was disappointed Bayern Munich boss Carlo Ancelotti didn’t do more to help him win the Bundesliga Golden Boot award in the final game of the season.

Sources close to Bayern say the player – who signed a new contract that ties him to the Allianz until 2021 only last December – is happy with them and they have no intention of selling one of Europe’s top strikers and a player crucial to their hopes of recapturing the Champions League.

Even if they did consider selling, the asking price would be over £100m.

Surprise, surprise, there are now reports in Spain that Ronaldo is having a “re-think” on quitting Real after his camp suggested he was intent on leaving after being accused of tax fraud.

United’s fans may have got excited by the prospect of his return but the club, having been led down that path before, have been more cautious, quite apart from knowing the sums involved in any transfer simply do not add up.

United are understood to be sticking to the list of transfer targets that Jose Mourinho handed to executive vice chairman Ed Woodward before the end of last season.

Top of that list remains Alvaro Morata, who Mourinho wants to replace the injured and departed Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

United are baulking at Real’s asking price of £79m. They value the striker at £60m and believe at that price he represents better value than another target, Romelu Lukaku.

Their interest in the Belgian has cooled because of Everton’s £100m valuation and they are not keen to get into an auction with Chelsea.

There are also haggling with Inter Milan over the price for attacking wide man Ivan Perisic. United are understood to have offered £26m for the Croatian international while Inter are holding out for nearer £35m.

But what is in United’s favour is the Italian club’s need to break even after breaching UEFA’s financial fair play rules in 2015.

Willian is an alternative but Chelsea are unlikely to want to sell to a Premier League rival while United have distanced themselves from reports linking them with Real’s James Rodriguez.

Long-serving Michael Carrick, who is 36 this summer, may have extended his contract by another year, but Mourinho is understood to be looking for a new midfield anchor man.

Prising Eric Dier out of Tottenham will prove nigh on impossible so Mourinho could turn to Nemanja Matic if former club Chelsea are willing to sell.

Having signed Victor Lindelof from Benfica to play alongside Eric Bailly, Mourinho is happy with his central defenders – and with Marcos Rojo out for the first half of the season he is not looking to off load either Chris Smalling or Phil Jones.

He is happy with Antonio Valenica at right back and will give injury-plagued Luke Shaw another chance to prove he can be United’s long-term left back.

But Mourinho will buy another full-back if Matteo Darmian – who can perform well on either flank – asks to go back to Italy where Juventus have identified him as their No.1 choice to replace Dani Alves, who is poised to join Manchester City.

Juve have also shown interest in Arsenal right back Hector Bellerin, along with Barcelona. But Bellerin is expected to spend one more season with the Gunners, forcing Juve to turn their attentions to Darmain instead.

Darmian joined United from Torino in 2015 but Mourinho is in no rush to sell – unless Juve offer United a profit on their £12m outlay.
