Netflix‘s adaptation of The Umbrella Academy comics have proven a hit and the second season is out now. The series has attracted a lot of new attention and there are plenty of fans watching the first season. Fans are keen to find out who plays Leonard Peabody in the series, and Express.co.uk has everything you need to know.

Who plays Leonard in The Umbrella Academy?

Leonard Peabody is introduced at the start of season one and he introduces himself as one of Vanya’s (played by Ellen Page) new violin students.

He seems to take a liking to her and the pair form a romantic relationship, but he is not the man Vanya thinks he is.

Leonard is played by American actor John Magaro, who was born in Ohio and has been active as an actor since 2005.

He is known for his roles in Not Fade Away, The Big Short and Orange Is the New Black.

The 37-year-old made his Broadway debut in The Front Page in 2016, playing the role of Earl Williams.

His father is of Italian descent and both of his parents were teachers.

He began taking part in local theatre classes while he was at school, and as a child, he appeared in a few TV commercials.

After school, he studied theatre at Point Park University in Pittsburgh, and his first role was in the film Prisoners of War in 2005.

His role as Leonard Peabody in The Umbrella Academy in 2019 was his first main role in a TV series.

Fans would have recognised him from his role as Vince Muccio in the Netflix hit, Orange Is the New Black.

Leonard had been born Harold Jenkins – a child who was born on the same day as the Hargreeves family.

He believed he had special powers like them, but he was ridiculed when he tried to join The Umbrella Academy.

In an act of vengeance, he stole a notebook containing secrets about Vanya’s hidden powers, and he used her in order to release her hidden abilities.

Vanya ended up getting her revenge on him after she found out the truth about what he had done, and she later killed him.

In an interview, he said he always knew the “basics” of his character Leonard.

He said: “I kind of always had an idea of where he was going, and we were trying to write that line of this guy is kind of a weirdo.

“Ellen’s character is so vulnerable, she has never had anyone give her any attention at all – so I get why some people were like ‘I get why she’s hanging around him.

“He’s a total gas lighter, he’s a total manipulator, it’s a very abusive relationship.”

He said the biggest surprise was reading the information about Leonard’s childhood as Harold Jenkins.

He said: “We never talked about that… seeing that stuff happen, that was a real surprise to me.”

The Umbrella Academy is available to watch on Netflix now.

Like Vanya, he seemed unable to control his ability to manipulate sounds waves and move things.

Harlan appeared frightened by his powers and so could accidentally end up triggering another apocalypse without meaning to.

Harlan seemed to be left to his own devices as season two ended, another worrying sign about what could happen without any guidance.

Hopefully, there’s a way Vanya could be reunited with Harlan and save from himself before it’s too late.

Fans are now waiting eagerly for news about a renewal for The Umbrella Academy season three, but viewers could be waiting a little while.

The streaming service took several months to decide whether to give season two the go-ahead, so there could be a similar wait for more news.

The Umbrella Academy is based on the comics of the same name by My Chemical Romance’s lead singer Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá, so there is plenty more source material for the show to draw on should it continue.

Scoop on Lucifer’s season premiere? –Cindy
The opener for Season 5 (out Aug. 21) is pretty fun, in that Lucifer uses some of the skills he learned over the years from the Detective to solve a mystery Down, Down Under (meaning, in Hell) — and maybe even help Chloe along the way with a case she tackles topside.

Do you have any scoop on Lucifer Season 5, Part 1? –Paola
I binged all eight of the episodes, and I’m thinking that Episode 5 might be my favorite, because as it deals with alllll kinds of emotions from a variety of characters and builds to an epiphany that made my eyes well up, for sure. (Then again, pandemic has me constantly on the verge.) Episode 3, meanwhile, is perhaps the funniest, dealing as it does with a murder on the set of a Warner Bros. TV show about a devilish hunk and his police detective paramour.

Any spoilers for the Stargirl finale (streaming Aug. 10 on DC Universe, airing Aug. 11 on The CW)? –Stacie

It looks expensive… and then it looks even more expensive. And then…. well, you catch my drift. Oh, and about midway through there is a twist so cool (or cruel?), I don’t dare say another syllable about it. Last but not least, you should know that there are at least two false endings/fades to black, so don’t shut off your TV/laptop too quickly when you think it’s all over.

Anything on New Amsterdam’s Max and Helen? –Malasha
Max is not going to be thrilled with Helen’s possible new beau, Dr. Shin (played by Daniel Dae Kim). “It’s definitely going to be a loaded relationship” between the two men, showrunner David Schulner previews. “Even if Sharpe wasn’t in the middle of it, their approach is completely opposite, and their philosophies about care are completely opposite. But [Dr. Shin] gets the job done, and it’s hard to argue with that.”

Greenleaf Judee PhilPlease fill me in on the latest about Greenleaf! –Wendy
Charlie Mason, who recaps the OWN drama for TVLine, has seen the series finale (airing Tuesday at 9/8c) and assures me that it doesn’t disappoint. In particular, he describes what goes down between Phil and Judee as “freakin’ delicious — they get exactly the endings they deserve.” I’m told that the hour also beautifully sets up the spinoff, wrapping up some old stories while laying the groundwork for juicy new ones.

Early in Season 6 of The Flash, Nash detected Eternium particles on Iris. Will that come back into play in any way? —Mariam
I, for one, always thought that what Nash in fact was picking up on was the Anti-Monitor’s subterranean hideaway below where Iris were standing at the time. But to be safe, I ran your Q by Candice Patton, who said, “That’s a great question. I remember shooting that and thinking, ‘This is cool! What does this mean, if it means anything?’ And I don’t have an answer for that, so it will be interesting to see if we revisit that and see what that little nod was about.”

In light of Don Johnson joining the Kenan Thompson sitcom, did the return of Nash Bridges get shelved? –Torchwood
That bridge has not been burned, no. I am hearing that the revival, announced just over a year ago, is still in (the early stages of) development for USA Network.

Agents of SHIELD 7x12Any spoilers on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.‘s Jemma? — Claire
Any and all remaining questions you have about Jemma, Fitz, “Diana,” etcetera will be answered — in tremendous (if sometimes brain-twisting) detail — in the second half of Wednesday’s two-hour series finale. Also, when you get to the Marvel drama’s very final scene, you’ll be kicking yourself for not seeing it coming.

Know anything about the AHS spinoff you’re willing to share? I’ll take anything! –Mal
Well, “anything” is about all I have to part with at this early stage. AHS franchise vet Sarah Paulson shared this week (during a press tour for Netflix’s Ratched) that while she is thus far unsure if she will appear on-camera in the American Horror Stories spinoff, “I do think I’ll be directing [some of] it.”

Manifest Season 2 FinaleAny scoop on Manifest Season 3 (premiering this fall)? –Kristi
Yes, we kind of cheered her on, but Saanvi’s accidental-ish murder of the Major will have consequences, at least of the existential kind. “Mythologically, that opens a real can of worms for Saanvi,” showrunner Jeff Rake told me. “Not that she was defying the calling, but she has committed an act so antithetical to what the callings represent that it’s going to beg the question: Can she ever recover? And is there any world in which she can survive the Death Date, given what she has done? That’s going to weigh on her and everyone who loves her as we move into Season 3.”

Do you have any inside scoop on if Sanditon has been saved by another network? –Emily
As promised to the many who emailed me about the Jane Austen adaptation that aired last summer/fall on PBS Masterpiece, I worked the phones and, alas, there are no plans at this time for a Season 2, at any outlet.

Have anything new on The Umbrella Academy? –Natalie

If it’s not too soon to look ahead to (a prospective) Season 3, Justin H. Min had this to say at this week’s press tour about the “new Ben” we saw in Season 2’s finale: “He’s not a ghost, I can tell you that. He’s alive. [Because] one of the biggest things we really wanted to do was create as much of a contrast from Ghost Ben to Sparrow Academy Ben as possible.” As for this Ben’s future, “In Season 3, he would be quite different, in terms of not only his appearance, but even in terms of personality and character, from the Ben that we know.”

Central Park‘s Molly wasn’t voiceless for long: The Apple TV+ animated comedy has tapped The Umbrella Academy star Emmy Raver-Lampman to voice the character originally played by Kristen Bell, TVLine has learned.

“After an extensive casting process that brought a number of incredible contenders to the forefront of our Molly search, we could not be more thrilled, honored, and certain that we have found the perfect marriage of character to voice in the amazing Emmy Raver-Lampman,” the Central Park creative team of Loren Bouchard, Josh Gad, Nora Smith, Halstead Sullivan and Sanjay Shah said in a statement. “From the moment we heard her Molly, we knew she was the right choice.”

Bell voiced the character of Molly — the mixed-race daughter of Leslie Odom Jr.’s Owen and Kathryn Hahn’s Paige — in Central Park‘s freshman season, which debuted on Apple’s streaming service in May. But Bell stepped away from the role last month, stating that “playing the character of Molly on Central Park shows a lack of awareness of my pervasive privilege.” The animated series received a two-season series order from Apple in March 2018.

A Broadway veteran of Hamilton and Hair, Raver-Lampman is best known to TV fans as mind-controlling superhero Allison Hargreeves on the Netflix comic book series The Umbrella Academy, which returns for Season 2 next Friday. Her other TV credits include Jane the Virgin and A Million Little Things.

The Umbrella Academy forecast calls for new Season 2 castings.

Netflix announced on Tuesday a trio of new faces boarding its comic book adaptation: Yusuf Gatewood (The Originals, Good Omens), Marin Ireland (Homeland, Sneaky Pete) and Ritu Arya (Humans).

They join returning cast members Ellen Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher and Justin H. Min, who are all set to reprise their Season 1 roles.

Based on the comic book series created and written by Gerard Way, illustrated by Gabriel Bá, and published by Dark Horse Comics, The Umbrella Academy tells the story of seven children who were adopted by a billionaire and subsequently groomed  to save the world. In Season 1, the six surviving Academy members reunited upon the news of their father’s passing and worked together to solve a mystery surrounding his death. But the estranged family begins to come apart due to their divergent personalities and abilities, not to mention the imminent threat of a global apocalypse.

Ritu Arya

Marin Ireland

Gatewood has been cast as Raymond, a born leader with the smarts, gravitas and confidence to never have to prove it to anyone. He is described as warm, dedicated and possessing the innate ability to disarm you with a look. A devoted husband, he’s the kind of guy everyone wants to know.

Ireland will play Sissy, a fearless, no-nonsense Texas mom who married young for all the wrong reasons. Still in her prime, she’s eager to rediscover what life and love has to offer.

Lastly, Arya will fill the role of Lila, a “chameleon” who can be as brilliant or as clinically insane as the situation requires. Unpredictable, mischievous and sarcastic, she is gifted with a twisted sense of humor.

Umbrella Academy season 2 spoilers: Vanya star Ellen Page reveals HUGE filming twist? https://briefnews.eu/umbrella-academy-season-2-spoilers-vanya-star-ellen-page-reveals-huge-filming-twist/ https://briefnews.eu/umbrella-academy-season-2-spoilers-vanya-star-ellen-page-reveals-huge-filming-twist/#respond Thu, 06 Jun 2019 01:03:02 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/umbrella-academy-season-2-spoilers-vanya-star-ellen-page-reveals-huge-filming-twist/

As is common with Netflix, they wait a while to judge a show’s success before commissioning another season and Umbrella Academy was no different.

Although it was evident how well the show had done in its first season, the streaming platform took its time in announcing a season two of the show.

However, it was announced last month that there would be follow-up season and fans were delighted.

Now, with filming just two days in, Ellen has posted a couple of photos on Instagram revealing returning characters and potential storylines.

She posted one photo of herself alongside Klaus Hargreeves (played by Robert Sheehan) and another photo of on-screen siblings Allison (Emmy Raver-Lampman) and Luther Hargreeves (Tom Hopper).

The post was captioned: “We’re back,” and fans were sent into meltdown.

One fan replied: “I’m so excited I can’t breathe.”

Another added: “CAN…NOT…WAIT!!! Happy filming guys, hope you have a cracking season of fun.”

A third fan gave a demand for what they want to see in season two: “I hope this time we have scenes of Klaus and Vanya together. I can’t ever have enough of you.”

Another questioned if one character would return after being omitted from the photos: “Where Five at though?”

Luckily, Number Five (Aidan Gallagher) is set to return to the show alongside his siblings after announcing production news on his own Instagram.

Back in May, the front page of the first episode script was teased by the show’s Twitter page and fans started speculating what it meant.

The episode is entitled “Right Back Where We Started” and referenced going back to when the siblings were children.

Some fans were desperate to see Ben Hargreeves (Justin H. Min) as a child, before he died.

It could also mean seeing Luther and Allison reunited after they were split apart.

Meanwhile, there is the prospect of the siblings attempting to recover after season one’s tragic ending.

Most notably, Allison got her vocal chords cut by Vanya and Klaus opened up an entirely new avenue of his powers when he brought forth Ben from the dead to attack their enemies.

But the show’s source material delves into some of these issues in its second book: Dallas.

The story follows Number Five’s venture into the past with his siblings to assassinate John F Kennedy.

Most importantly, Allison’s neck injury is fixed with help gained from Number Five’s friends at The Commission.

The Umbrella Academy spoilers: What was Leonard trying to achieve with Vanya? https://briefnews.eu/the-umbrella-academy-spoilers-what-was-leonard-trying-to-achieve-with-vanya/ https://briefnews.eu/the-umbrella-academy-spoilers-what-was-leonard-trying-to-achieve-with-vanya/#respond Mon, 25 Mar 2019 22:20:13 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/the-umbrella-academy-spoilers-what-was-leonard-trying-to-achieve-with-vanya/

Leonard Peabody/Harold Jenkins (played by John Magaro) on The Umbrella Academy was the villainous antagonist from the first series on Netflix. Leonard manipulated Vanya (Ellen Page) into a relationship in the hopes of getting closer to The Umbrella Academy. However, his true intentions for Vanya has been left up for debate after the character failed to fulfil his plans in season one. Here’s what The Umbrella Academy fans think Leonard was trying to achieve with Vanya.

What was Leonard trying to achieve with Vanya on The Umbrella Academy?

WARNING: This article contains spoilers from The Umbrella Academy on Netflix.

The Umbrella Academy viewers were introduced to Leonard Peabody in the second episode of the Netflix series.

Leonard was a student of Vanya’s as he underwent violin lessons.

It didn’t take long for Leonard to worm his way into Vanya’s life, spotting her vulnerability thanks to her frayed relationship with her adoptive siblings.

Leonard and Vanya’s romance intensified and, bit by bit, he began to try and turn her against the other members of the Academy.

He knew Vanya had a secret power like her brothers and sisters, even though her father Sir Reginald Hargreeves (Colm Feore) had told her she was normal.

Magaro’s character set out to try and get Vanya to unleash her powers, however, it was revealed his backstory meant he had ulterior motives.

HOW DID BEN DIE ON THE UMBRELLA ACADEMY?

Leonard was revealed to be Harold Jenkins, a former superfan of the Academy who was born on the same day as the seven adopted children.

Harold was keen to escape his violent home as a child and become a member of The Umbrella Academy.

When Reginald refused Harold an audience as a child, the superfan went home and brutally murdered his violent father in a fit of rage.

Now, as an adult, he sought vengeance on the Hargreeves family who had rejected him.

While his motive for infiltrating the Academy was clear, his intentions for Vanya were not.

And Harold wasn’t able to fulfil any plan he had after Vanya’s overbearing powers killed him in a moment on uncontrollable fury.

Despite his death, The Umbrella Academy fans have found themselves debating what Leonard hoped for online.

Taking to online forum website Reddit, one fan asked: “What was Leonard trying to accomplish?”

It didn’t take long for fans of the Gerard Way-created series to offer their own answers.

One fan said: “Maybe he wanted it to be more personal like getting the Academy to turn on each other starting with Vanya. I remember him repeatedly saying that the academy won’t forgive Vanya and they want to kill her.”

A second fan of the show commented: “Didn’t he want the UA to implode on itself? Killing them wouldn’t be enough for him, I guess. They all had to squabble and destroy each other, which would be delicious irony for him because they were shown as this awesome family of supers before.

“They were better than him and rejected him, and he probably wanted to prove that they weren’t better than him because they would kill their family too (like him).”

A third theory put forward reads: “When he got out of prison and eventually found Reginald’s notes he realised he could get Vanya to kill them all for him. That’s why the eyes are scratched out in the pictures and why he visibly smiles when they think Vanya killed Allison (Emmy Raver-Lampman).”

WHAT IS NUMBER FIVE’S REAL NAME IN THE UMBRELLA ACADEMY?

Harold’s true intentions weren’t revealed in the comic-book series either.

However, Gerard Way and showrunner Steve Blackman have spoken out about other questions to arise from the Netflix series.

Both Way and Blackman weighed in on the controversial ‘incest’ romance between adoptive siblings Allison and Luther (Tom Hopper).

The pair dropped a major hint season two was on the way as well multiple other series.

Should season two be confirmed, it’s likely all members of The Umbrella Academy would return.

Allison, Luther, Vanya, Klaus (Robert Sheehan), Diego (David Castañeda), Number Five (Aidan Gallagher), and Ben (Justin H Min) all starred in every episode of the first season.

A number of other The Umbrella Academy stars could make comebacks in season two, both in flashback or the present day.

The Handler (Kate Walsh), Pogo (Adam Godley), and Cha Cha (Mary J Blige) all came to fatal ends in the first season but could appear in flashbacks in another series.

Time-travelling assessing Hazel (Cameron Britton) managed to escape the fiery apocalypse of the season one finale with girlfriend Agnes (Sheila McCarthy), so they may return.

The Umbrella Academy season two could also welcome back the Academy as children, including Young Klaus (Dante Albidone) and Young Luther (Cameron Brodeur).

The Umbrella Academy is available to stream now on Netflix.

The Umbrella Academy spoilers: Is Klaus immortal? https://briefnews.eu/the-umbrella-academy-spoilers-is-klaus-immortal/ https://briefnews.eu/the-umbrella-academy-spoilers-is-klaus-immortal/#respond Fri, 22 Mar 2019 17:58:55 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/the-umbrella-academy-spoilers-is-klaus-immortal/

The Umbrella Academy, which was released on Netflix a few weeks ago, spent most of its season exploring the superpowers of its main cast, including those of Klaus (played by Robert Sheehan). Klaus appears to die but is soon revived in one scene of the Netflix drama, leading some fans to wonder if The Umbrella Academy character is immortal. Robert Sheehan’s character in Misfits was also unable to die, prompting fans of The Umbrella Academy to wonder if this scene is a Netflix Easter egg to the E4 series.

Is Klaus immortal in The Umbrella Academy?

If the Netflix series follows the comic books, then it is likely that Klaus is immortal.

According to a flashback in one episode, it seems that Netflix are following the Gerard Way series with this character.

In this episode, we see Klaus enter the afterlife after, presumably, dying on Earth in a nightclub.

However, he seems to be rejected from the afterlife and wakes up back in the club, suggesting that he is, in effect, immortal.

THE UMBRELLA ACADEMY POWERS AND NUMBERS

Though this is not explicitly the afterlife, Klaus does speak to the recently departed Reginald Hargreeves (Colm Feore) there.

The series has not made clear whether this was a dream sequence, however, or a genuine visit to the afterworld.

In the comic books, it was revealed that Klaus is immortal after he was rejected by God himself.

Though the series has referenced this event, it has not explicitly been said that Klaus is immortal.

WHO PLAYS POGO IN THE UMBRELLA ACADEMY?

Some fans think, however, that we have seen him close to death and coming back to life at another part of the Netflix show.

One Umbrella Academy fan wrote on Reddit: “In the show he is also returned to the land of the living (if you count the ambulance ride in [episode] 1).”

In that episode, Klaus comes back to life in the back of an ambulance after an overdose.

Though the question of whether Klaus is immortal is still up in the air, in Misfits Robert Sheehan’s character Nathan was immortal.

WHO IS HAROLD JENKINS IN THE UMBRELLA ACADEMY?

As such, the fact that The Umbrella Academy has not actually said whether he is immortal could be the show distancing itself from the BAFTA-winning show.

On the other hand, the choice to cast Sheehan could have been because of his previous role as an immortal character.

More about Klaus and his powers is sure to be revealed in the upcoming season two of The Umbrella Academy.

Netflix has not officially renewed the series, but rumours abound that the show will return.

The Umbrella Academy is streaming on Netflix now.

The Umbrella Academy season 2 spoilers: Will Number 8 appear in the new series? https://briefnews.eu/the-umbrella-academy-season-2-spoilers-will-number-8-appear-in-the-new-series/ https://briefnews.eu/the-umbrella-academy-season-2-spoilers-will-number-8-appear-in-the-new-series/#respond Mon, 18 Mar 2019 03:41:42 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/the-umbrella-academy-season-2-spoilers-will-number-8-appear-in-the-new-series/

Will Number 8 be in The Umbrella Academy season 2?

WARNING: This article contains spoilers from The Umbrella Academy.

The Umbrella Academy season two spoilers are being kept well under wraps but one fan’s theory suggests Number Eight could appear.

Netflix viewers were told there were 36 other children born on the same day as the seven which make up the Academy.

None of the 36 appear in the Netflix series but one fan has spotted a hint at an eighth member in the Gerard Way-written comic books.

HOW DID BEN DIE ON THE UMBRELLA ACADEMY?

Taking to online forum Reddit, one The Umbrella Academy fan wrote: “As for the children, Reginald could only locate seven of them.”

The fan’s theory continues: “I think an eighth one was hinted at in volume three.

“And (they) play a bigger role in volume three currently being made.”

Therefore, should season two of The Umbrella Academy draw influence from volume two of the comics, there is a possibility Number Eight may appear.

Other potential spoilers to emerge prior to The Umbrella Academy’s renewal include a possible time jump and the return of Cha Cha (Mary J Blige).

WHERE IS THE UMBRELLA ACADEMY FILMED?

Who will star in The Umbrella Academy season 2?

Should Netflix confirm the series’ return, it’s likely all seven members of the Academy will appear back on-screen in the cast.

Allison, Klaus, Luther (Tom Hopper), Diego (David Castaneda), Number Five (Aidan Gallagher), Ben (Justin H Min), and Vanya (Ellen Page) all star in every episode.

Ben, AKA Number Six, stars despite the character’s death prior to when the series is set.

Number Six would appear as a result of Klaus’ interactions with the dead, similar to his boyfriend Dave (Cody Ray Thompson) did.

The Umbrella Academy’s mom, Grace (Jordan Claire Robbins), unfortunately, seemed to die in the season finale.

However, Reginald Hargreeves programmed her to be indestructible as a result of Vanya’s lethal powers, so she may return.

The Umbrella Academy: How old is Number 5 in The Umbrella Academy? https://briefnews.eu/the-umbrella-academy-how-old-is-number-5-in-the-umbrella-academy/ https://briefnews.eu/the-umbrella-academy-how-old-is-number-5-in-the-umbrella-academy/#respond Sat, 16 Mar 2019 09:16:26 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/the-umbrella-academy-how-old-is-number-5-in-the-umbrella-academy/

Number Five (played by Aidan Gallagher) has proven to be one of the most interesting members of The Umbrella Academy after travelling back through time to warn his siblings about the impending apocalypse. After initially turning up in episode one of the Netflix series, it’s only halfway through the first season that we finally get this backstory and learn about his real age. Here’s everything you need to know about Number Five and his real age.

How old is Number 5 in The Umbrella Academy?

WARNING: This article contains major spoilers from The Umbrella Academy

Number Five is trapped in the body of a 13-year-old boy and basically looks the same as he did when he sprinted into the future against the wishes of his adoptive father Reginald Hargreeves (Colm Feore).

However, he’s often referenced his age in the show and is actually in his fifties – around 58.

Nevertheless, he ends up going through a form of adolescence again when he gets drunk while on a mission to stop the end of the world.

The fifth episode of The Umbrella Academy is aptly titled Number Five and delves into the superhero’s backstory.

WILL THERE BE ANOTHER SERIES OF THE UMBRELLA ACADEMY?

After Number Five leapt through time, he got stuck in the future and survived for years by himself in the post-apocalyptic wastelands of Earth by himself for decades.

During this time, Number Five survived on a diet of cockroaches, scraps and whatever else he could find and aged.

Number Five retained his sanity by starting a relationship with a mannequin called Delores.

When The Handler (Kate Walsh) turned up and offered Number Five a job working for the Commission and bumping off people, he was seen to have become a wizened old man with a grizzly beard.

HOW DID BEN DIE IN THE UMBRELLA ACADEMY?

So, Number Five did age significantly but the process of travelling through time has left him stuck perhaps permanently as a teen.

However, as season one drew to a close it almost looked like the characters could age again as we saw them apparently regressing to their teenage incarnations.

Speaking about portraying such a memorable character, Gallagher said: “I get to play a 58-year-old time-traveling assassin.

“The role had a lot of layers to it that I knew would be fun to break down and figure out the motives behind.

“But also I had been this huge fan of the entire world that Gerard and Gabriel were able to create through the first two graphic novels. So for me, it was a dream project.”

WHAT ARE NUMBER 7’S POWERS?

He went on to explain to Vulture how he got under the skin of the character, saying: “The 58-year-old part is definitely an interesting detail, but I’ve always approached it as a regular character.

“You get familiar with how he reacts to certain things, and what the dynamics are between characters.

“The writing was very good — very authentic to what Gerard was able to do with Five in the comics.”

Gallagher continued: “As far as what part of myself I brought to Five, I’ve always considered myself not really my age. I don’t know that I would say I’ve felt like a 58-year-old, but I’ve never felt exactly my age, or in the right place. So I could relate to him in that sense.”
