It followed Liverpool’s 2-1 defeat to Manchester United on Saturday.

Carragher, who made over 500 appearances at the heart of Liverpool’s defense but never actually won the Premier League, was driving from United’s Old Trafford stadium where he had been providing expert commentary, when he was goaded by the fan.

The fan’s 14-year-old daughter, sitting in the passenger seat of the car, can be heard begging her father to stop the taunts, which he filmed on his mobile phone.

Ignoring his daughter’s pleas, the fan then shouts out the 2-1 scoreline, which prompts Carragher to wind down the window of his car before expectorating. The resulting spit struck the young girl.

In the footage, the girl can be heard saying: “He spat on me.” The dad asks her: “Where did it hit you?” She replies: “On my face.”

Carragher, 40, was quick to apologize to the girl, describing his behavior an “inexcusable” in a tweet that quoted an article condemning his action as “shocking.”

“Totally out of order & I’ve apologised personally to all the family this evening. I was goaded 3/4 times along the motorway while being filmed & lost my rag. No excuse apologies,” Carragher tweeted.

According to the Mirror, Carragher phoned the girl and her father on Sunday night and said: “I just want to apologise and I hope you are OK.” The youngster apparently told him: “OK, thanks for apologising.”

The girl’s 38-year-old mum expressed her anger at Carragher, who has a daughter of his own, for spitting on the girl, calling it “the lowest of the low.”

“I was extremely angry and disappointed that he could even bring himself to do something like that. Looking at her, you know she is a child,” she said.

“What did she do wrong? She did not do anything wrong. Spitting at someone is the lowest of the low. It is disgusting. In all the years I’ve watched football, isn’t it all about banter?”

Carragher, who won two FA Cups and the 2005 Champions League with Liverpool, was stood down from reporting duties on Sky Sports’ coverage of Monday evening’s game between Stoke and Manchester City as a result of the incident.

According to preliminary findings, Vlada Dzyuba died of “multiple organ failure” linked with blood poisoning, Andrey Kulikov, Russia’s Consul in Shanghai, told RIA Novosti. Death could have resulted from the body reacting to prolonged stress, coupled with sepsis and a nervous system infection, he added.
An autopsy would be required to definitively establish the final cause of the young model’s death, Kulikov added. “The child’s mother is in Russia, [and] without her consent an autopsy can’t be carried out,” he said.

Russian authorities are working to facilitate the mother’s travel to China.

ESSE Model Management, the agency which brought the girl to China, said in a statement that Dzyuba fell ill sick during a photoshoot in Yiwu, near Shanghai, on October 24. She was then brought to her hotel where she “began to vomit and felt dizzy during the night.” The teen model was taken to hospital in Shanghai the next day due to the “continuous bad condition of her body.” Her condition deteriorated and she died in an intensive care unit early Friday.

Dzyuba, a native of the Siberian city of Perm, arrived in China for the Shanghai Fashion Week on a three-month contract which ESSE signed with the girl’s Russian modeling agency.

It was a “slave contract,” and the 14-year-old was forced to work 13 hours a day, eventually dying of exhaustion, The Siberian Times paper reported last week.

“Her preliminary cause of death was meningitis compounded by severe exhaustion… Officially, she was allowed to work three hours a week in China, a law which mirrors that in Russia,” the paper said.

Vlada’s mother, Oksana Dzyuba, told Russian broadcaster NTV that her daughter called her on the phone and said: “I’m so tired. I worked 13 hours. I want to sleep.” She was already falling ill at the time of the call and then “the fever started,” the mother added.

A friend of the deceased model told RT Russian that Dzyuba was an “absolutely healthy child… She always ate normal food. She wasn’t anorexic,” adding that “she loved her work and never complained.”

ESSE Model Management has dismissed claims that the Russian teen was employed under a “slave contract.”

“Dzyuba had 16 different jobs during her two-month stay in China. She had regular breaks while working. Most of her work was completed within eight hours. Her workload was moderate compared with other models,” Zheng Yi, ESSE Model Management CEO, told the Global Times. The contract didn’t mention specific working hours. “Modeling work is not manual labor after all, just shows and photo shoots and making poses, and there are breaks. We provide underage models with more care. If they feel stressed, we will communicate with them,” Zheng explained.

ESSE’s public relations director, Michelle Chien, said modeling is viewed as cultural work in the country and an “exceptional industry… [The] laws in China have no direct regulations, [so] it’s OK to recruit minors,” reported AP.

Shanghai Fashion Week, in which Dzyuba participated, concluded on October 18, but the event’s media representative said “Shanghai Fashion Week is also investigating when, why and where Dzyuba died,” speculating “that she could have collapsed after the show.”

In an interview with Buzzfeed published Sunday, Rapp said Spacey invited him to a party at his apartment in 1986. At the end of the night, Rapp said Spacey stood in the doorway, blocking his exit.

Rapp recalled Spacey drunkenly picking him up “like a groom picks up the bride over the threshold,” and carrying him to a bed before lying on top of him.

“He was trying to seduce me,” Rapp told Buzzfeed. “I don’t know if I would have used that language. But I was aware that he was trying to get with me sexually.”

Rapp was 14 at the time and Spacey, 26.

Rapp told Buzzfeed he was able to “squirm” away and quickly left the apartment, but that the incident has stayed with him.

Over 30 years later, Rapp said he felt compelled to come forward with the allegations after numerous women came out with allegations against Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein.

In response, Spacey issued an apology on Twitter, saying he was “beyond horrified” to hear Rapp’s story, but added that he did not remember the incident.

“If I did behave then as he describes, I owe him the sincerest apology for what would have been deeply inappropriate drunken behavior,” Spacey tweeted.

Spacey’s two-paragraph apology then pivoted, with the Academy Award-winning actor and honorary knight of the British empire announcing that he had decided to “live as a gay man.”

Netflix and Media Rights Capital issued a press release obtained by RT America that said the companies were “deeply troubled” by the accusations. Executives from both studios arrived on set in Baltimore Monday to ensure the cast and crew “continue to feel safe and supported.”

They added that Spacey is not working on set at this time. The cast began filming the sixth season of the hit series earlier this month.

The decision to pull the show after the sixth season was made “months ago,” well before the news about Spacey surfaced, according to a journalist from the Hollywood Reporter.  

Spacey’s response sparked outrage on social media, with many accusing him of trying to deflect the allegations of sexual assault by revealing his gay status.

Comedian Wanda Sykes, who came out as gay in 2008, lashed out at Spacey for trying to “hide under the rainbow.”

Dan Savage, author of the “Savage Love” column, said there is “no amount of drunk or closeted that excuses or explains away assaulting a 14-year-old child.”

Billy Eichner, host of TruTV’s ‘Billy on the Street’ tweeted that Spacey’s decision to ‘come out’ in his apology was “something that has never existed before: a bad time to come out.”

Actor Zachary Quinto, who co-stars with Rapp in ‘Star Trek Discovery,’ said it was “deeply sad and troubling” that Spacey chose to come out in order to distract from Rapp’s accusations.

“Not by standing up as a point of pride – in the light of all his many awards and accomplishments thus inspiring tens of thousands of struggling LGBTQ kids around the world, but as a calculated manipulation to deflect attention from the very serious accusation that he attempted to molest one,” Quinto wrote.

Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) president and CEO Sarah Kate Ellis chose to criticize news outlets, saying they had missed the real story.

“Coming-out stories should not be used to deflect from allegations of sexual assault. This is not a coming-out story about Kevin Spacey, but a story of survivorship by Anthony Rapp and all those who bravely speak out against unwanted sexual advances. The media and public should not gloss over that.”

“I know that there are stories out there about me,” reads one of the more cryptic passages in Spacey’s statement. He added that “some have been fueled by the fact that I have been so protective of my privacy.”

Similar to the case of Harvey Weinstein, many in the entertainment industry are saying there was widespread knowledge of Spacey’s behavior, but that these problems were common in the industry.

“I think that many people in the theatre and in the creative industries have been aware of many stories of many people over a lot of years,” London theater director Victoria Featherstone told BBC Radio 4 show ‘Today.’

“Kevin Spacey would be one of the people that people have had concerns about, yes,” she said.

A former local news anchor in Boston, Heather Unruh, has come out accusing Spacey of “completely unexpected, completely inappropriate” sexual advances on an unidentified woman at a well-known restaurant last summer, the Boston Globe reported.

Another woman, Nadine West, tweeted that Spacey “groped my young male friend when they were both working at the Old Vic,” a theater in London. West said Space was “apparently always known as one to avoid,” the Daily Mail reported.

Spacey’s own brother, Randall Fowler, has told the Daily Mail that their father was a child rapist who ran a “house of horrors.” Fowler claims to have been raped by his father, Thomas Geoffrey Fowler, who he alleges joined the American Nazi Party and trimmed his mustache in the style of Adolf Hitler.

“Neither of us had a chance growing up with two such damaged parents,” Fowler said.

Fowler said that Spacey “tried to avoid what was going on by wrapping himself in an emotional bubble,” and that he was “so determined to try to avoid the whippings that he just minded his Ps and Qs until there was nothing inside.”

Fowler thought Spacey may have pursued acting as an escape.

Rumors about Spacey being gay have been circulating for many years. In a 2005 episode of the comedy TV show ‘Family Guy,’ the family’s baby Stewie ran naked through a crowded room yelling, “Help! I’ve escaped from Kevin Spacey’s basement! Help me!”

The show’s creator, Seth MacFarlane, also made a joke about Weinstein’s sexual escapades, telling a group of women nominated for best supporting actress at the 2013 Academy Awards that they would “no longer have to pretend you’re attracted to Harvey Weinstein.”

Flight logs show that Spacey, along with former President Bill Clinton, flew on the private jet of former Wall Street mogul and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein from New York to the Azores on the way to Africa in 2008. Epstein’s jet has been dubbed the ‘Lolita Express.’

On Sunday, Yana Tomacheva was found alive in the wild of Russia’s Krasnoyarsk region after wandering in the woods for six days. The rescue operation went on for almost a week, with more than 230 police officers, National Guard personnel, military and volunteers scouring the lush area.

Hundreds of square kilometers of dense taiga forest, as well as the land along the rivers and roads had been searched with the help of 17 vehicles. A helicopter, drones and a gyroplane were also deployed.

Now safe, Yana was found extremely exhausted and is expected to be transferred to a hospital in Krasnoyarsk, local media reports citing the regional emergencies ministry’s spokeswoman.

Yana disappeared Monday after she went picking berries along with her mother and older sisters; who reportedly went in different directions. When the youngest didn’t show up in the evening, the family raised the alarm.

“She got lost near village of Chindat. It’s a pretty remote area, forest there is like a wall,” rescue personell said at the time. “It is enough to walk ten kilometers and not see anything,” local media reported citing the police.

Dozens of locals and rescuers flocked to the area as the search operation unfolded.

“The more people are involved, the bigger chances are of finding a person,” said the head of the “Search for missing children” group who organized the volunteer units. “The grass is tall and it’s almost impossible to see a person from above. Even if she lays two meters from you, you wouldn’t notice her,” she said.

Worse still, the first two days of the search were complicated due to rain, with search dogs losing the girl’s tracks in the mud.

Yana wasn’t very familiar with the woods, having being showed a few paths by her mother, according to the head of the Chindat village administration, Nikolay Alin, who was interviewed by local media at the time of the mission. Moreover, there were very little berries and mushrooms to be found in the area this year, and the ground could have been too damp for a fire, he said.

However, in the end, it was the berries that helped sustain the girl initial reports reveal. She also managed to endure swarms of mosquitos and midges as well as dodge the many bears that frequent the area.

Japanese police arrested a 14-year-old boy for creating and distributing malware designed to infect and encrypt computers to financially exploit victims.

The teen, from Takatsuki in Japan’s Osaka Prefecture, is the first person in the country to be arrested for the crime, according to police.

Ransomware is a malware that infects computers, encrypts its files and makes them inaccessible, until the victim pays for the encryption keys needed to restore the PC’s contents – usually through bitcoin.

The high school student allegedly created a ransomware virus and uploaded its source code online, reportedly gaining access to more than 100 computers – although there have been no reports of financial exploitation.

The student reportedly told authorities that he learned the code on his own, and created the malware on his home computer in a matter of days in an effort to be become famous.

The malware was discovered by the Kanagawa Prefectural Police during ‘cybertrolling’ duties in January. It confiscated his computer after searching his house in April, reports The Japan Times.

The use of ransomware for cyber attacks is on the rise. Just last month more than 300,000 computers, across 150 countries, were infected with WannaCry ransomware within 72 hours.

The WannaCry malware works by sending users a text file with a ransom demand for some US$ 300 worth of bitcoins. It also installs a countdown timer on the victim’s system, demanding that the ransom be paid to avoid having private files deleted.

The device, called an M-44, is spring-loaded to discharge poisonous sodium cyanide powder if it is pulled on. The US Department of Agriculture Wildlife Services uses the scent-baited booby-traps to kill predator animals like coyotes, foxes, wolves, and cougars that can pose a risk to homes, livestock, and hiking trails.

However, in Thursday’s incident, which occurred near Buck Skin Road east of Pocatello, Idaho, an M-44 sprayed Canyon Mansfield, 14, and his three-year-old yellow Lab, Casey, as the two were walking on a hill near the family home.

“I see this little pipe that looked like a sprinkler sticking out of the ground,” Canyon told EastIdahoNews.com. “I go over and touch it. Then it makes a pop sound and it spews orange gas everywhere.”

The powder got into the teen’s left eye and onto his clothing, he said. He only realized his dog was hurt after washing his eye out with snow.

“I look over and see him having a seizure,” Canyon said, adding “I ran over and he had these glassy eyes. He couldn’t see me, and he had this red stuff coming out of his mouth.”

The boy called for help, and his father Mark, a medical doctor, tried to resuscitate Casey, but failed.

It took hours before the cause of the dog’s death could be linked to the Department of Agriculture’s predator-control program.

“We didn’t know anything about it. No neighborhood notifications, and our local authorities didn’t know anything about them,” Mark said. “The sheriff’s deputies who went up there didn’t even know what a cyanide bomb was,” he noted.

Canyon was taken to hospital for treatment, and the family and Bannock County sheriff’s deputies that had responded to the incident had their blood tested for possible cyanide poisoning.

The Wildlife Services said on Friday that the incident near Pocatello was the first “unintentional lethal take of a dog” by an M-44 in Idaho since 2014.

“Wildlife Services understands the close bonds between people and their pets and sincerely regrets such losses,” R. Andre Bell, a spokesman for the US Department of Agriculture, said in a statement. “Wildlife Services has removed M-44s in that immediate area. Wildlife Services is completing a thorough review of the circumstances of this incident, and will work to review our operating procedures to determine whether improvements can be made to reduce the likelihood of similar occurrences happening in the future,” it continues.

The statement added that M-44s are only planted at the request of property owners, claiming the service “posts signs and issues other warnings to alert pet owners when wildlife traps or other devices are being used in an area for wildlife damage management.”

“The USDA’s statement regarding the horrific incident that happened to my family yesterday is both disrespectful and inaccurate,” said Canyon’s sister, Madison Mansfield. “The USDA intentionally refers to the brutal killing of our dog as a ‘take’ to render his death trivial and insignificant,” she stressed.

“They also claim that the killing of an unintended victim is a rare occurrence, but this is entirely untrue. In fact, this issue is nationally recognized due to the lack of selectivity of cyanide bombs, and there have been many reported incidents in which unintended animals and people have been targeted,” she told the Idaho State Journal.

Bannock County Sheriff Lorin Nielsen said no notice had been given to local authorities about the placement of M-44s in the area.

“I’ve been a sheriff here for 20 years and worked for the office for 39 years, and I’ve never heard of leaving around a device that emits poisonous gas,” he said, as cited by Reuters, adding that he would be meeting the federal authorities next week to “get to the bottom of it.”
