This Morning fans tuned in to see hosts Eamonn Holmes, 58, and Ruth Langsford, 58, discuss a viral video that has caused a social media outcry. It comes after a clip was posted online showed a parking ticket attendant from Euro Parking Services issuing an emergency service vehicle with a ticket. Caught on camera by witness Ian French, the van was seen parked on double yellow lines. However, as the discussion got underway, both Eamonn and Ruth “took no prisoners” and were very quick to question Will Hurley from the International Parking Community on their code of conduct, how they would have reacted in this situation and why emergency services aren’t exempt from the rules. Ruth began: “The very fact, he was taking the photograph – now hear me out – he was even thinking about issuing a paramedic with a parking ticket, it’s a paramedic, who he didn’t know if they were on call or not. And Eamonn interrupted: “What you should do is lay down the law and change the rules for this, so you’re not going to, you’re going to cover your backside by saying ‘well every case has to be considered on its merits and we’ll look at this’ why don’t you just change the law for emergency services? Will explained: “The difficulty is, if you just make it so emergency services can park anywhere, it would be abused the other way potentially.” But Ruth wasn’t stopping there and interjected: “Can you honestly sit and say, you believe a paramedic or police office would do that? ‘I know I’m off duty now but i’ll stop off at the supermarket do my weekly shopping., come on.” And Eamonn quickly intervened and asked: “Could they just not be exempt?” However Will responded: “We will take away the experience from this, what we have to do is ensure there are reasonable rules.” Eamonn ended the segment with: “What we are taking away with us from this is that you’re not going to change anything, are you?” Taking to Twitter, This Morning viewers commented on the debate, with some praising the This Morning hosts questioning skills. One tweeted: “Well done Eamonn and Ruth giving this guy a grilling #ThisMorning.” “Eamonn Holmes is going IN on this parking community guy #ThisMorning,” another remarked. A third saiid: “@EamonnHolmes and @RuthieeL are taking no prisoners today on @thismorning. Love it! #ThisMorning.” However, some viewers disagreed and thought that nobody should be exempt from receiving a parking fine if they are parking illegally. One said: “@thismorning I actually agree with the parking charges guy about it possibly being used for personal reasons if emergency services can park anywhere.” Another added: “I get that @EamonnHolmes is trying to prove a point but the level of harshness to the parking guy is slightly uncomfortable. #this morning.” The attendant in question during this debate does not work for Tesco where he was on duty, instead for Birmingham-based firm Euro Parking Services. In a statement via Manchester Evening News, Adrian Nesbitt, HR manager for the firm said: “It is a mistake on our part, we will contact the ambulance service to offer our apologies and put together a full training package to make sure it doesn’t happen again. “The ambulance service is very important to our community, we don’t want to hinder them and we’re very saddened by the situation.” This Morning airs weekdays at 10:30am on ITV. An irate Seth Meyers called out President Donald Trump on Wednesday for even attempting to suggest that his executive order regarding family separation fixes the damage done by his administration’s “zero tolerance” policy. Meyers’ Closer Look focused on the controversial immigration policy that separates children from their parents at the southern border. The aforementioned executive order, which was signed into effect Wednesday, came after reports that upwards of 2,300 migrant children had already been taken from their parents. “Let’s be clear about one thing: You don’t get credit for solving a problem when you’re the one who created the problem,” Meyers said. “Whether it’s the birther lie, or the ‘Mexicans are rapists’ lie, or the idea that Democrats are responsible for separating families, Trump’s paranoid fantasies are a Rosetta Stone for understanding what’s happening right now,” he argued, pointing to “state TV” Fox News, “which has spent the past week lying about the policy and trying to make you believe that what you see with your own eyes isn’t actually real.” Meyers then queued up a series of clips to defend his point, including Laura Ingraham referring to immigrant detention centers as “summer camps.” “If you rip a child away from its parent and you put that child in a suite at the Ritz, you’re still a f—king monster,” Meyers continued. “The through line of Trump’s political career is blindingly clear: He concocts racist lies [and] uses dehumanizing language to justify cruelty towards immigrants and outsiders. It wasn’t an accident, it wasn’t a law, it was a choice by Trump and his supporters. “Something you hear a lot on days like today… is that this is not who we are, but it is who we are right now,” he opined. “It might change tomorrow or the day after that, but today we are this. And you personally may not be this, but who we are is too often decided by those in power, which is why you vote. So remember, if you want who we are to match with who you are, you have to get up early and vote the next chance you have.” Press PLAY on the video above to watch Meyers’ Closer Look segment in full. Tonight’s episode of The Chase caused fans to become heated before witnessing a first on the Bradley Walsh fronted show. ITV’s game show saw the first contestant of the evening get caught by chaser Shaun Wallace, as she failed to claim her prize pool of £5,000. Second contestant Des successfully claimed his high offer of £35,000, leaving the team in a hopeful position. However the third and fourth contestants Amma and John accepted the minus offer, leaving the team’s prize pool at £30,000. With a successful team of three attending the final chase, host Bradley, 57, had a good chance of winning today’s game. But fans were absolutely appalled at two team members taking the negative offer, and flocked to Twitter to comment, with one saying: “How can not 1 but 2 people take the minus offer on #TheChase and not only that he even had the balls to skip back to the table and say, ‘Wooo we will get 10 grand each if we win I’m just stunned.” The final chase saw the trio successfully rack up 19 steps against the chaser. Unfortunately for Bradley and his team, Shaun was on form today, as he blitzed through the questions, seemingly destroying their claim for the cash. Despite their five push-back attempts – three of which were successful – Shaun managed to chase down the team with a split-second to spare. Shaun danced in his seat at his mind-blowing victory, while the team were absolutely heartbroken by the devastating defeat. Contestant Amma was particularly distraught, and instantly aimed her anger at Shaun. She cried out: “Ah no! That was unnecessary. “One second. You’re out of order,” she added, pointing at Shaun. Amma shook her head as Bradley read out the statistics of the game. Fans chimed in on her outburst, claiming she had no right after claiming a low offer, with one saying: “Amma: that’s out of order. Says the woman who takes the minus offer #TheChase.” Another commented: “Amma ‘one second, you’re out of order’. Erm minus £2000, you’re out of order chick! #TheChase.” One fan added: “Amma I think was a bit bitter there #TheChase.” The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV. The 50-year-old was taken aback when Ben revealed he has a large collection of vacuum cleaners as he is in charge of keeping his home tidy. His confession came as the pair discussed how much mess glitter can make alongside reporter Sean Fletcher. “I’m assuming you don’t do the glitter in your house, it is devilish to get out,” Kate remarked. Ben replied: “Me personally, no.” “Do you do anything in your household?” Sean joked, as the 42-year-old continued: “I tend to avoid as much as I can but I do the tidying up. Endless vacuuming. It is spotless Sean, in ship shape.” Laughing Kate commented: “I don’t believe that for a second. You wouldn’t know where the vacuum cleaner was.” But Ben wasn’t impressed with her remark as he quipped: “As you well know Garraway, I have a collection of vacuum cleaners. “I think it is always important to have the right tools for your job. Do you have a vacuum cleaner which is good for wooden floors or for carpets, for the stairs or for curtains?” Kate was left momentarily speechless before she blasted: “Wow. Who knew this would be the day that Ben Shephard would be confirmed as a freak? “It has been a long time coming, about 20 years but finally… that is the weirdest thing I have ever heard.” Ben went on to reveal that he has each vacuum placed around the house so that he can grab one easily if he requires it. Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV at 6am.

Siberian communists back in 1967 dreamed big, believing that by now we would have landed on Mars and established contacts with alien civilizations, a time capsule opened in Novosibirsk revealed.
The retro-futuristic time capsule was placed in the city’s culture center 50 years ago to be opened in 2017 to mark the 100th anniversary of the Russian Revolution. Inside was a three-page letter outlining a vision of the future as seen by the Soviet people in 1967.
What a bitter disappointment would have awaited the authors, had they lived to this day.
“We believe that you have masterfully outfitted our wonderful blue planet, the Earth, explored the Moon and landed on Mars, that you are continuing the exploration of space started by the people of the first half of the century and that your starships have been long prowling the Galaxy,” the message reads. That sets quite a few daunting tasks for us people of the future – and we’ve missed all the deadlines.
Humans have only been to the moon once, and while Mars may be the matter of a decade if SpaceX is to be believed, establishing business with alien civilizations could prove a chore, given that we haven’t met any so far.
Again, sorry to the people of 1967, who wrote:
“We believe you are negotiating cultural and scientific cooperation with representatives of other, extraterrestrial civilizations,” the letter reads.
Hardly could the authors imagine that their addressees would not only fail to make enough breakthroughs in space exploration, but also witnesses the collapse of communist rule.
“We know, our time is interesting, but yours is more interesting. We have built communism, and you are living under communism,” they wrote optimistically.
At the ceremonial opening of the capsule, a minute of silence was held to honor the letter’s authors, none of which have lived to this day to see their communist dreams shattered.

The blonde-beauty made sure all eyes were on her with a sequinned rainbow skirt as she presented the ITV show.
Holly, 36, teamed her form-fitting number with a sunshine yellow jumper and loose blonde waves.
Entertainment presenter Rylan Clark-Neal was a big fan, and begged the This Morning team to show the skirt “five seconds” of appreciation.
However, it seems that the production team took the request a little too literally, and zoomed right in on the bombshell’s lower half.
Holly joked: “Thank you, let’s have a close-up up my skirt, oh lovely!”
The mother-of-three posted a snap of her bright look on her 2.7 Instagram followers earlier and fans flocked to praise the bold outfit.
One wrote: “Gorgeous!! Already been trying to get my hands on the skirt,” while another gushed: “Absolutely beautiful.”
Elsewhere on This Morning, the first contestant for Dancing On Ice was announced.
Coronation Street star, Brooke Vincent will don her blades for the ITV competition when it returns later this year.
This Morning airs weekdays on ITV from 10.30am.
Discussing in-flight etiquette with former-steward Brian Dowling, Kate and co-presenter Ranvir Singh were joined by two children who were playing the roles of some troublesome tearaways.
Being told to kick the GMB team members’ seats in front of them, the children did not hold back and unleashed hell on the pair.
Getting into the role, Kate, 50, turned round and asked the youngsters what they were doing whilst Ranvir, 39, shouted: “Stop it you little pesky things!”
Kate defended them initially, saying: “They’re our producers’ kids… Be kind!”
However, her protests didn’t last long as she joked at the little boy: “You’re going to feel the back of my hand in a minute, young man!
“They’re really acting their part aren’t they,” Kate added, still laughing.
As the skit was coming to an end, Brian gave his expert advice that if a child is bothering you on a flight, you either grin and bear it or tell the parents yourself because there is nothing an in-flight steward will do about it.
This came after newsreader Charlotte Hawkins made an X-Rated blunder earlier in the show.
The blonde beauty accidentally called Michael Phelps a “swinger” as opposed to a “swimmer”.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV from 6am.
Megyn Kelly officially made her NBC debut on Sunday with the premiere of her much-buzzed-about newsmagazine — but at least one Daily Show personality isn’t buying into the hype.
On Monday’s episode of The Daily Show With Trevor Noah, correspondent Michelle Wolf ripped into Kelly for her “disgusting” attempt at “trying to manipulate the American public” in the first episode of her new show.
Although Kelly kicked off Sunday Night by addressing the volatile cable news landscape — even asking viewers, “Can’t we all just get along?” — Wolf urged the audience to remember that Kelly was a staple of that same cable world for the last 12 years.
“I’m sorry, now we’re all supposed to be friends?” Wolf mocked. “Now that you’re at NBC, you’re acting all peaceful, like some sort of Mahatma Blondie?”
After showing a brutal clip reel of Kelly’s time on Fox News, Wolf continued: “Five months ago, she was part of the problem. Actually, she was the queen of the problem… Sorry, Megyn, you’re not the new Barbara Walters. You’re that Sprint/Verizon guy who just follows the money.”
Press PLAY on the video below to see Wolf’s full takedown of Kelly, then hit the comments and tell us: Do you agree with her harsh words?

Uber is in the midst of severallawsuits and has a controversial CEO leading the company. It also has to placate its own growing horde of dissatisfied drivers who complain that their revenue potential is dropping, even while Uber exaggerates how much its drivers earn. Bloomberg reports that Uber may have yet another problem on its hands with its new “upfront pricing” fees. The feature, introduced last year, allows Uber to charge some passengers more for their rides. The problem is that Uber hasn’t changed the way it pays its drivers; they’re still generating money the same basic way, based on time, distance and mileage.
Accusations that upfront pricing benefits Uber rather than drivers are nothing new. Blogger Christian Perea at The Rideshare Guy complained that Uber was secretly overcharging passengers and not paying drivers, and there was a lawsuit filed alleging the same thing this past April.
According to Bloomberg, Uber’s head of product Daniel Graf has said that upfront pricing uses machine-learning to figure out how much riders are willing to pay for a given ride and then charges them accordingly, a feature he called “route based pricing.” Bloomberg interpreted this to mean that riders traveling routes in wealthier areas would be charged more than those in less high-end areas.
However, an Uber spokesperson who spoke to Engadget on the phone said that Uber only uses rider demand to inform its upfront pricing structure, not rider apparent wealth. He confirmed that the fare charged to customers in high-demand areas can be higher than the driver’s take, which is typically based on time, distance and traffic. This type of pricing is only in areas that have Uber’s carpooling service, as well.
“We price routes differently based on our understanding of riders’ choices so we can serve more people in more places at fares they can afford,” he said. “Riders will always know the cost of a trip before requesting a ride, and drivers will earn consistently for the work they perform with full transparency into what a rider pays and what Uber makes on every trip.”
In other words, some folks will pay a bit more to get a dedicated UberX car in high-demand areas and others might be willing to wait a bit more for a more affordable UberPool ride. Uber then uses aggregate data from past users’ behavior to set upfront pricing accordingly.
Uber sent the above email to drivers today to communicate this change. Uber’s spokesperson also told us that any extra funds from this kind of differential pricing are going right back into promotions that show drivers where they can make more per ride as well as into funding more Uber drivers on the road to help cover high demand.
The perception of Uber as a company trying to scam its drivers out of extra ride fares is a dangerous one, whether it has a kernel of truth or not. Some might also see it as muddying the waters of Uber’s claim that it’s just a middle-man. Drivers might understandably be upset if they see themselves as independent contractors using an app to facilitate ride-sharing — a claim Uber itself encourages — who are not seeing any benefit from higher per-ride fees. Bringing in more money from riders may help Uber itself, but it could also alienate drivers, who may not understand or believe Uber’s explanations. Transparency about how pricing actually works could go a long way to help Uber’s perception problem.

The 43-year-old revealed she was in an abusive relationship and hopes that her performance on the ITV series inspires others.
Speaking to press including Express.co.uk, she said that viewers have contacted her about her experience.
“I’ve had some really lovely messages from viewers and people on social media and basically saying they felt they it was very brave to be honest about my past,” she said.
“Some people were inspired by my attitude, some were inspired by my bravery after sharing what I’ve been through and also having the courage to do a show like The Voice.”
Michelle went on to add that it was important to her that she inspired others to open up about their own experiences as she recalled her own.
“It took me a long time to be able to heal from that and to even be open about it to my friends and my family as well,” she commented.
“I refuse to be a victim, I refuse to let that break me and I’m going to pick myself up and be brave and try and to say to anyone who is there right now, there is life after that.
“You just feel so broken and so damaged but there is healing after that and you can go on, and fulfil your dreams.”
Michelle revealed that she has not spoken to her mentor will.i.am about her past but said he acknowledges that there is a lot of pain in her voice when she sings.
“We’ve not really had that conversation,” she noted. “We have kept it around the music but he has acknowledged that when I sing there is a lot of passion.
“There is pain that comes out in my voice, there is joy and there is strength and he sees that when I sing.”
The singer also confessed that if will.i.am had not chosen her to be on his team, she’d have liked to have worked with Jennifer Hudson.
“I would have loved to have worked with Jennifer because obviously, she’s got a big voice, I’ve got a big voice and we’ve both come from a gospel background,” Michelle explained.
“She’s really passionate when she sings, so I think I could learn a lot from her. She was the other person I would have loved to have worked with.”
The Voice UK airs tonight on ITV at 8.30pm.
