Speaking on ITV’s Good Morning Britain, the former Ukip leader said he believed the draft Brexit plan Theresa May will reveal on Wednesday is “the worst deal in history”. The mastermind behind the Leave campaign claimed the Prime Minister had to be replaced with someone else prepared to go back to Brussels and threaten to leave without a deal unless a free trade agreement was on the negotiating table. He said: “This is the worst deal in history. “We’re giving away in excess of £40 billion in return for precisely nothing. “Trapped still inside the European Union’s rulebook, continuing free movement of people, continuing with a foreign court having a say over our own country. “Nothing has been achieved other than giving away a huge sum of money.” He added: “The truth of it is in any negotiation in life, any business negotiation the other side needs to know that you’re serious about walking away. “And what Mr Barnier knew from day one is that at no point did Theresa May intend to walk away and I just hope that we see today in the Cabinet and later on in the House of Commons our politicians realising we didn’t just vote to leave in a referendum, we backed it up in a general election. “This is now a fundamental matter of trust between the electors of our country and those that govern us.“ He described Theresa May as “not just the worst prime minister I’ve ever seen but perhaps the most dishonest one as well”. He added: “Get rid of her. Let’s get somebody else, let’s come back to the EU and say ‘look, let’s have a simple free trade deal or we are leaving on WTO (World Trade Organisation) terms’. “And do you know what? They’ll bite our arms off.” Asked what he thinks will happen next, he said: “I believe that the Cabinet will collapse, I believe that Parliament will collapse. “I think we have a career political class who will put their own reselection within their parties above the interests of the nation and our democratic system.” There has not been a more hostile and spiteful US government against Iran in four decades, President Hassan Rouhani claimed in an explosive speech on Sunday, accusing America of pushing for a regime change. “There was a time when there was one person who had enmity. The rest were moderate. Now…the worst have gathered around each other,” the Iranian president said in a speech marking the beginning of the academic year at Tehran University. Iran’s president also accused the US of using psychological and economic warfare to reduce the country’s “legitimacy” in a step towards regime change. Relations have soured between the two nations after Trump pulled out of a multilateral agreement on Iran’s nuclear program in May, despite protests from other signatories to the international deal. Trump unilaterally scrapped the 2015 accord, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) between Tehran and world powers, and re-imposed US sanctions against Tehran. While Russia, Germany, the UK, France and China remain committed to the cornerstone security treaty, the US threatened its allies with sanctions unless they stopped trading with the Islamic republic by November. READ MORE: Iran’s elite guards vow ‘deadly’ revenge as Tehran blames US & allies for parade attack At the start of October, the International Court of Justice ordered the US to lift sanctions linked to humanitarian goods and civil aviation on Iran. It came after the latter complained that Washington had breached the Treaty of Amity, Economic Relations, and Consular Rights signed in 1955. The US responded to the ruling by pulling out of the treaty, something US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said should have been done years ago. In one of the latest source of tensions, Tehran has also accused Washington and its allies of orchestrating a terror attack on Iran’s military parade in the city of Ahvaz in September. Militants opened fire as the event was underway, killing and injuring dozens, including civilians. Think your friends would be interested? Share this story! The BBC series aired its second instalment of the thrilling crime drama tonight, but hopes were dashed with the closing credits. A voiceover announcement revealed that viewers will have to wait one extra day for the next offering of the Shetland aisles series. The news comes because of a one-off scheduling conflict in the form of a major football game. Tuesday night will see the FA cup final between Swansea City and Sheffield, meaning that unfortunately Shetland’s third episode will be pushed back. As the news sank in, fans were left disappointed and forced to share their annoyance with the situation on Twitter. One person wrote: “@djhenshall So there is no Shetland next Tuesday because @BBCScotland think I need to watch Swansea City v Sheffield Wednesday instead? Aye, right.” “@djhenshall @AtotheOD – plot thickening nicely! But have to wait eight days for next episode. #Shetland,” another fan shared. A third blasted: “This is an outrage, another day to wait for next week’s episode of Shetland what are you doing with your scheduling @BBC! “What’s worse is I think my mum genuinely believes @AtotheOD has the power to change the air time ‘Just tweet Tosh it’ll be fine.'” “Damn! I hate having to wait a week for the next episode of #Shetland but this week it’s worse….it’s a week AND A DAY!!!” a fourth cried. Meanwhile, other viewers couldn’t help but notice an apparent blunder on the show. Shetland locals are aware that the weather in Northern Scotland is rarely sunny, and more than that – the island suffers from ferocious winds. But the series so far has shown mostly sunny calm days, leaving viewers baffled at the continuity. One person said: “Dear @BBCOne continuity Shetland is not a tropical island. However I can tell you it appears to get lots of weather #Shetland.” “Rather than spend time money on trendy sauf London voiceovers they could look up #Shetland on google earth,” another added. Shetland continues Wednesday at 9pm on BBC One.
John Worboys, 60, a former stripper and porn actor, was convicted of 19 offences in 2009 and ordered to serve at least eight years in jail. He was given an indeterminate sentence for public protection (IPP), meaning he could be kept in prison for as long as he was deemed to be a danger to the public.
After a secretive hearing about his case in November, however, the Parole Board decided to approve his release, on condition that he report to probation staff every week and is barred from contacting any of his victims.
While Warboys was found guilty of assaulting 12 women, police believe there were more than 100 victims. More came forward after the trial, but the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) declined to bring any more charges. It is understood the CPS may have taken this decision because Worboys was on an indeterminate sentence.
Worboys is due to be released within weeks – roughly eight years and nine months after he was jailed. Including the year when he was on remand before trial, he will have been behind bars for less than a year for each of the attacks he was convicted of, and a month for each of the women he was suspected of attacking.
At last count, there were 3,162 people in prisons across England and Wales serving the controversial, and now-abolished, IPP sentences. Because of a law which prevents the disclosure of Parole Board proceedings, it is not known why Worboys’ release was approved while so many other IPP prisoners are denied parole.
“I recognise there is a lack transparency of Parole Board processes and I have recently set out options for change,” Professor Nick Hardwick, the Chair of the Parole Board, said in a statement. “We currently have a statutory duty under the Parole Board Rules that prevents disclosure of proceedings.”
Professor Nick Hardwick, Chair of the Parole Board said:
“I recognise there is a lack transparency of Parole Board processes and I have recently set out options for change. We currently have a statutory duty under the Parole Board Rules that prevents disclosure of proceedings.— The Parole Board (@Parole_Board) January 5, 2018
The Parole Board has made it one of its key aims to bring down the number of people on indeterminate sentences to 1,500 by 2020. In 2016-2017, 46 percent of all IPP offenders considered for parole were successful, but the recall rate is extremely high.
Sarah Ludford, a Liberal Democrats spokesperson, questioned whether Worboys’ release would raise questions about other IPP prisoners. “Worboys is being released after an indeterminate sentence (IPP) with min eight years. Has the injustice of 3,300 IPP prisoners with no release date – many far less dangerous – that Parole Board Chief Nick Hardwick highlighted last year been solved then?,” she tweeted.

British Labour peer Charlie Falconer added: “Worboys is an IPP prisoner. He had a tariff of 8 years. There were about 500 IPP prisoners, as at June 17, with tariffs of less than 2 years, about half of who had served 8 years or more over their tariff. How has he been released, and they not?”
A former IPP prisoner, Jamie, said Worboys is being released despite being “a true danger to society.” He added on Twitter: “The Worboys case is all about having the money to pay for a top legal team to guide him thru the hoops. Myself and 7500 out the 8000 given an IPP didn’t have that and were left to rot.”

Cleansheet, an organization that supports men and women into employment after they leave prison, called the decision to release Worboys and not other IPP prisoners a “disgrace.”
IPP sentences were introduced in 2005 under Labour Home Secretary David Blunkett. They were designed to protect society from dangerous, violent, and sexual offenders whose crimes were not deemed serious enough to warrant a life sentence but who posed a “significant risk.”
The sentence was applied far more widely than envisaged, however, swelling the prison population to unprecedented levels and putting huge pressure on the already stretched parole board. Rather than targeting dangerous criminals – with an expected rise in the prison population of 900 – and IPP sentence was handed down to 8,711 offenders between 2005 and 2012. They included arsonists, pub brawlers, and street muggers.
In 2012, IPP was abolished under the Coalition government after a European Court ruling claimed it was “arbitrary and unlawful.” Its abolition was not retrospective, however, meaning there are still more than 3,000 prisoners – or nearly five percent of the prison population – serving sentences without a release date. The scheme costs British taxpayers approximately £131 million every year.
There are some prisoners who are serving four times their sentence. Last year, RT reported the cases of Ian Hartley, who is twelve years into a three-year jail term for robbery, and Joshua McCrae, who is eleven years into a four-year jail term for ‘wounding.’

It was probably an almost impossible task. Disney and Lucasfilm have built the hype and expectations for The Last Jedi to unprecedented heights during the two years since The Force Awakens hits cinemas.
Critics have been overwhelmingly positive towards the new movie but diehard fans who flocked to see Episode 8 as soon as it opened have flooded Youtube channels dedicated to Star Wars fandoms with their complaints.
It should be noted these are all fans who have followed sites and channels dedicated to the Star Wars franchise and who have spent two years discussing their excitement and hopes for The Last Last Jedi.
The word “disappointed” seemed to crop up the most as they singled out the Luke storyline, Kylo Ren and Rey scenes, Snoke, plot holes “as big as The Supremacy”, the failure to deliver certain expected moments and one very unfortunate moment involving Luke and a female alien.

STAR WARS THE LAST JEDI FANS COMMENTS:
“Seen the film today, sad to say a disappointment is an understatement.”
“There isn’t a single character who isn’t left ruined by this movie. Not one that I can think of.”
“Ugh, Rian Johnson’s script really sucked. This movie was a colossal let down!!! Instead of Lando, A Jedi or Sith training sequence, or an epic Luke Skywalker/Rey vs The Knights of Ren on Ahch-to battle royale we got sappy, emo “Force Texting” interludes and wimpy Luke dying for no reason. WHY WOULD LUCASFILM APPROVE THIS CR** SCRIPT???!! This is exactly the opposite of what we needed. Rian Jonson has not only sh** the bed, he’s ruined our enjoyment of the entire saga! He needs to be fired ASAP & replaced. NO RIAN, we don’t want your “new trilogy” I’m sure it’ll suck.”
“Laziest film ever made. I don’t even get a Snoke back story at all! Rey is just some chick nobody wanted. Plot holes are as big as the Supremacy!”
“Disney WTF have you done?”
“The last Jedi was the first Star Wars movie that left me disappointed as i left the cinema, hope they make up for it with Episode 9 but not counting on it.”
“George Lucas needs to get it back from Disney before they kill it which they have almost done with The Last Jedi. Save your creation, George.”
”Get JJ Abrams back. Still trying to figure it out having just watched it 30 minutes ago. Some great moments in the film but over ruled by the absolute cr** in it. Two years for what? Lol. Gutted. Disney has well and truly ruined Lucasfilm.”
”In my opinion, unfortunately THE LAST JEDI is worst Star Wars movie ever.”
“Say it with me, Luke Skywalker deserved better.”
“Just been to see The Last Jedi, it was awful and did we really need to see Luke Skywalker milk an alien?”
”Such a shame that this movie was disappointing. Oh well, only two more years for the next and final chapter.”
“I see why Mark Hamill hates Disney Star Wars, embarrassing him with TFA and then he fundamentally disagrees with TLJ script because he and George knew where the character should go.”
“This f***ing ‘thing’ they’re trying to sell between Rey and Ben was being rammed down your throat so hard it made me physically sick. And the ‘shirt off – put something on scene’ made me bury my head in my hands, it was so cringe-worthy. Gaaaaaghhh!”
“Never been as confused after a movie as I was after The Last Jedi. I thought it was great but I was also little disappointed.”
“Cinematically one of the best damn movies I’ve ever seen. Whether it did us diehards justice to Star Wars is another matter. Visually Ahch-Tou is an awesome planet, everything you see with Rey and Yoda amazing. I just can’t get over the end. I don’t know if Star Wars is still salvageable where they left it at the end of the movie. It’s treading on on Dangerous Grounds. Was it Luke’s choice to die? Still a little confused.”

“I honestly don’t know how I feel, I mean the story is different, but not good. They leave more questions then answers and honestly only want a fresh start so Disney can do what they want to the series. It’s not all bad, I’ll grant it that, but Legends material is so much better by comparison by leaps and bounds.”
“Not here to spoil anything so I’ll word it like this, I was disappointed with the Knights of Ren.”
“Luke dies a sh***y death.”
STAR WARS THE LAST JEDI IS OUT NOW
German fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld has accused Angela Merkel of replacing the millions of Jews killed in the Holocaust with their “worst enemies,” apparently referring to the German leader’s policy of accepting refugees from mostly Muslim countries.
“One cannot – even if there are decades between them – kill millions of Jews so you can bring millions of their worst enemies in their place,” designer Lagerfeld told television show ‘Salut les terriens!’ on France’s C8 channel on Saturday.
“I know someone in Germany who took a young Syrian and after four days said, ‘The greatest thing Germany invented was the Holocaust,'” he added, as quoted by AFP. The comments came after Lagerfeld warned he was about to “say something horrific” regarding Merkel’s “huge error” of accepting so many refugees into the country.
The 84-year-old, who was born in Hamburg, went on to accuse Merkel of accepting so many refugees because she was trying to improve her image.
“Merkel had already millions and millions (of immigrants) who are well integrated and who work and all is well… she had no need to take another million to improve her image as the wicked stepmother after the Greek crisis,” said the designer, who serves as head creative director for Chanel and Fendi. His comments prompted several hundred people to lodge official complaints, according to France’s media regulator, the CSA, which said it is looking into the situation.

Around 1 million mainly Muslim migrants – most of them from war-torn Syria – are estimated to have entered Germany since 2015, as part of the worst refugee crisis since World War II. Merkel has been criticized both domestically and abroad for her open-door policy for those fleeing war and persecution, with critics citing strains on the social welfare system and a rise in migrant-related crimes.
However, Merkel’s CDU party and its Bavarian SCU sister party agreed in October to cap Germany’s intake of asylum seekers at 200,000 a year. That number could be increased or lowered by the Bundestag in exceptional circumstances, Der Spiegel reported at the time, citing a draft paper.

You knew Donald Trump would have an opinion on the Emmys‘ poor ratings, and now we have it.
Just hours after addressing the United Nations on Tuesday, the President of the United States went on Twitter to say how “saddened” he was by the “worst ever” ratings for TV’s biggest night. Commenting as though the Emmys aired on Monday, and not on Sunday, Trump theorized that the record-low tune-in was a result of the “smartest people of them all” — or more specifically, the “DEPLORABLES” (a play on Hillary Clinton’s infamous “basket of deplorables” gaffe) — choosing not to watch.
During a heated debate about what can be done to protect the country after Friday’s failed tube bombing attempt at Parsons Green, Piers called for an increase in resources in the country.
The 52-year-old insisted: “We need to flood communities with more support officers. Who cut them? Theresa May.
“The biggest mistake this country made was scrapping community officers,” Piers added.
This comes after two men were arrested in West London in connection with the attack.
Aged at just 18 and 21, the two suspects were reportedly in foster homes after coming over to the UK to escape the war torn conditions.
However for Piers, these arrests highlight more problems with the system as he argued: “What really worries me about this story is that this 18-year-old was living with foster parents and he had lost control.
“You have this troubled kid, the police have been dealing with him…who is picking up a kid like that?
“I don’t see a system saying we’ve got to look at this boy,” the outspoken presenter added.
Colonel Richard Kemp also took part in the heated exchange and provided Good Morning Britain viewers with a tougher alternative.
The former COBRA member insisted: “Depending on which figures you listen to we have thousands of concerns and we have more than that which have been foiled.
“We’ve got about 60 investigations into terrorism. What we have to do is manage the number we’re concerned about by getting them out of the country.
“We’re prioritising the human rights of terrorists – we have to deport them in large numbers out of the countries,” he added, before also calling once more for internment.
However, former Metropolitan superintendent Dal Babu insisted that the problem is with internet companies who need to take bigger steps from blocking certain content that could be used for radicalisation.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV from 6am.
On Friday, the Trump administration issued an order prohibiting Americans from dealings in new debt and equity issued by the Venezuelan government and by its state oil company, PDVSA.
The White House said the measures “are carefully calibrated to deny the Maduro dictatorship a critical source of financing to maintain its illegitimate rule.”
“We don’t agree with anything that Maduro is doing,” US Ambassador to the UN, Nikki Haley, said on Friday, calling Venezuela’s recently elected Constituent Assembly a “sham.”
The US will continue to increase pressure on Venezuela until its citizens’ “rights and democracy are fully restored,” said President Donald Trump’s National Security Adviser, H.R. McMaster, announcing the new sanctions alongside US Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin.
Exceptions will be made for certain transactions between the US and Venezuela, including petroleum exports and imports involving Citgo, PDVSA’s American unit, as well as financing for humanitarian efforts, Mnuchin said.
Venezuelan Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza blasted the move, saying “today’s financial sanctions are the worst aggression towards Venezuela in the last 200 years.”
The US is trying to promote a humanitarian crisis in Venezuela, Arreaza said, adding: “We will protect our people and our democracy with all means we have.”
It was not immediately clear how hard the sanctions would hit Venezuela’s vital energy sector and whether they would affect its dealings with investors from other countries.
Earlier in August, PDVSA reduced crude sales to Citgo Petroleum while increasing supply to Russia’s Rosneft, Reuters reported.
Previous sanctions
The US had imposed several rounds of sanctions against individuals and officials in Venezuela, including President Nicolas Maduro, over the Constituent Assembly elections in July, which the US called illegitimate and refused to recognize.
“I am proud of the alleged sanctions… because I do not wag my tail like a lying dog,” Maduro said after the US announced sanctions against him. “I am punished for defending the natural resources of Venezuelan lands.”
Venezuela held the elections following months of street protests and clashes in which more than 100 people have died. Despite the violence and opposition boycott, over 8 million people participated in the process by casting their votes for the 545 candidates who will be empowered to draft a new constitution.
The opposition says that the vote will give the ruling Socialist Party unprecedented powers, as well as a mandate to deny lawmakers parliamentary immunity.
In an interview with RT in July, Maduro said the US was trying to disrupt Venezuela’s economy through an “indirect blockade,” targeting the country’s financial system, adding that the US attempted to do the same thing in 2015 and 2016, with no success.
Possibility of US military intervention
The US said that the Venezuelan leadership “undermined democracy” by conducting the constituent assembly elections.
On August 11, President Trump said he considered a “military option” to resolve Venezuela’s political crisis. In response, Maduro announced a nationwide military drill to fend off a possible “imperialist” invasion.
“I have given the order to the armed forces’ joint chiefs of staff to start preparations for a national civil-military exercise for the integrated armed defense of the Venezuelan nation,” Maduro told supporters who had gathered in the nation’s capital. The drills are scheduled for August 26-27.
“No military actions are anticipated in the near future,” McMaster told reporters on Friday, adding that Trump was presented with “many options” in case the situation in Venezuela deteriorated.
Latin American leaders, including presidents of Colombia, Argentina, Chile and Panama, have spoken forcefully against the possibility of a US military intervention in the country. They conveyed the message to US Vice President Mike Pence, as he traveled to the region to drum up support for US pressure on Maduro.
A number of countries, including the UK, the US and Argentina, have refused to recognize Venezuela’s Constituent Assembly election. Russia, however, said the vote was laying the basis for a peaceful resolution of the issues plaguing the country.
“We regret to note that opposition forces did not respond to the call to take part in the vote, but tried to hamper the elections instead, provoking clashes that have resulted in loss of life. We urge the opposing parties to stop the pointless violent confrontation,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on July 31.
