AN American radio station is under fire after a host called Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen’s daughter “an annoying little piss ant” on-air.
DJ Alex Reimer made the comment on Boston-based WEEI’s “Kirk & Callahan” show last week while discussing the Tom vs. Time documentary about the NFL star.
Patriots quarterback Brady, 40, called in for his weekly appearance on the show on Monday morning local time, but he cut the interview short – although not before having a go at the hosts.
The father of Vivian, five, as well as Benjamin, eight and John, 10 (the latter from a previous relationship) said he was disappointed by the remarks and is now debating his future with the sports show, according to ESPN’s Mike Reiss.
“I’ve tried to come on this show for many years and showed you guys a lot of respect,” Brady said.
“I’ve always tried and come on and do a good job for you guys. It’s very disappointing when you hear that, certainly. My daughter, or any child, certainly don’t deserve that.
“I really don’t have much to say about it this morning.”
He hung up the call after about two minutes.
WEEI has since scrubbed the audio from its site and suspended Reimer on Friday, but the damage had been done.
As for Brady, he and his New England Patriots team meates are preparing to chase their sixth Lombardi Trophy against the Philadelphia Eagles this weekend in Super Bowl LII.
