Super Bowl 2018: Contenders for NEXT year’s Half Time Show – who'll follow Lady Gaga? POLL

But who next? Now the attention spins to next February and the list of viable candidates for the 2018 event. Here, Express.co.uk rounds up ten possibilities…

SCROLL DOWN FOR POLL!

Jennifer Lopez

She may not quite have the voice to match Gaga’s, but Lopez could certainly serve up a high-energy, theatrical performance. And she’s got many, many years of hits to her name, too.

Shania Twain

She’s making a comeback later this year, and if it goes well, who’s to say this country-pop megastar couldn’t entertain the masses at Super Bowl 52? As long as she avoids the possibility of critics using the easy ‘That Don’t Impress Me Much’ response…

Kanye West

Kanye certainly knows how to get everybody talking, but above all he is a very well-respected artist with years and years’ worth of material to choose from. Could he create next year’s Half Time spectacle?

Drake

He’s just left British audiences astounded with a set at London’s O2 Arena, and so it seems more possible than ever before that Drake has what it takes to step up to the plate.

Justin Bieber

Love him or hate him, Bieber draws a huge crowd – and would certainly draw a lot of attention to the stadium.

Rihanna

Since her breakthrough, Rihanna has racked up an incredible amount of hits – and she’d be spoiled for choice when it came to picking out a set-list. Could she be the candidate for 2018?

Kelly Clarkson

Kelly may not have the spectacular popstar presence of a Gaga, a Beyonce or even a Katy Perry – but the hits are all there, and the voice is undeniable. It would be daft, too, to underestimate her popularity with Americans. So with a new album due this year, Super Bowl 52 could be the perfect time for her to take a turn…

P!nk

Think Gaga’s acrobatics were impressive? Just give P!nk a shot…

Britney Spears

OK, Britney would likely mime most – if not all – of her set. But she is, in her own words, “Miss American Dream since [she] was seventeen”, and she’s got the hits to boot. There would, at the very least, be an incredible spectacle of production.

Taylor Swift

Taylor seems like an obvious candidate, but let’s not forget her ties to Coca Cola sponsorship deals – and with Pepsi helming the Super Bowl Half Time Show, Swift could be ruled out completely. But if that proves to be a moot point, this would certainly give her an opportunity to reverse her slightly dented popularity.
