Strictly Come Dancing 2017: Ruth Langsford’s makeover brutally SLAMMED – did you spot why?

Fans took to Twitter to compare the This Morning favourite to none other than Margaret Thatcher as she emerged as an air hostess.

The 57-year-old teamed a voluminous wig with a tight blue dress and neck scarf but soon stripped to reveal a cut-out red dress for her Samba to Love Is In The Air by John Paul Young.

Ruth has wowed those at home by showing off very different looks week-on-week, which recently saw her ditch her bob for much longer, blonde tresses.

However, viewers had one person in mind this evening, with one user tweeting: “#StrictlyComeDancing what have they done to Ruth? She looks like Maggie Thatcher.”

Two others agreed: “Ruth looks like Margaret Thatcher in drag. Only needs the handbag,” and: “Playing catchup with Strictly. Have they dressed Ruth as Maggie Thatcher? #scd.”

A third continued: “Why is Ruth Langsford dressed as Margaret Thatcher? I thought Halloween was next week? #Strictly.”

Someone else added: “When Ruth had her extensions for the rhumba she looked amazing but tonight’s appear to be a bit ‘Sexy Thatcher’. #StrictlyComeDancing2017.”

However, not everyone was so critical, as one fan praised: “Yaasss To Ruth’s wig #StrictlyComeDancing2017 @RuthieeL.”(sic)

The dramatic instalment also saw judge Craig Revel Horwood fall off his chair while doing an impression of co-star Bruno Tonioli, who missed the show due to work commitments.

Strictly Come Dancing continues tomorrow at 7.15pm on BBC One.
