Star Wars Solo leaks: Behind-the-scenes CHAOS revealed – ‘It was getting weird’

Speaking anonymously in a new report, the actor – who is said to play a supporting role in Solo: A Star Wars Story – alleged that original directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller were ultimately ill-suited to such a big franchise.

The performer added that when Howard later came aboard, the difference in efficiency was remarkable.

“Phil and Chris are good directors, but they weren’t prepared for Star Wars,” the actor told Vulture.

“After the 25th take, the actors are looking at each other like, ‘This is getting weird.’

“[Lord and Miller] seemed a bit out of control. They definitely felt the pressure; with one of these movies, there are so many people on top of you all the time.

“The first assistant director was really experienced and had to step in to help them direct a lot of scenes.”

The duo’s spokesperson countered that the claims are “completely inaccurate”.

Of Howard, the actor added: “When he came on, he took control and you could feel it.

“He got respect immediately. He’s really confident. A really easy guy to work with.”

This was the same report in which it was claimed that Alden Ehrenreich wasn’t “good enough” to meet Lucasfilm’s expectations of a Harrison Ford impersonator, until an acting coach was hired.

Solo has been shrouded in mystery for months, with one short trailer being finally released last month.

It teased not only Ehrenreich’s performance but also those of Emilia Clarke and Woody Harrelson in supporting roles.

It teased not only Ehrenreich’s performance but also those of Emilia Clarke and Woody Harrelson in supporting roles.

Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Thandie Newton and Paul Bettany are also on board for the space romp, which will face box office competition from Deadpool 2 – released one week earlier.

Whether or not it can match the popularity of previous spin-off Rogue One – released in 2016 -remains to be seen.

Solo: A Star Wars Story is out on May 25.
