Star Wars shock: Boba Fett spin-off ‘is NOT cancelled’ – but won’t be what you expect

The spin-off was originally expected to be announced at Star Wars Celebration two years ago, with Josh Trank on board as director.

But when he didn’t appear at the panel due to illness, all went quiet. Now, after he reportedly left the venture altogether, it seems bosses haven’t given up on the idea of making the blockbuster.

Speaking to Star Wars News Net, a source said: “Rest assured, the Boba Fett movie is not dead.

“As far as I can tell, the movie will most likely not be an origin story.”

The character is quite enigmatic, and there had been concerns that a movie putting him front-and-centre would scupper this somewhat.

However, it seems that the adventure will be more of an ensemble piece than one steered solely by Fett.

“It’s not strictly a Boba Fett movie, but a film about an ensemble of bounty hunters on an adventure,” the source alleged.

“It sounds as though Fett is just one important component to the movie as opposed to the central character.”
