Star Wars 8 runtime CONFIRMED: Is it the LONGEST film in the whole series?

With all the excitement building, the latest piece of news will be welcomed by fans.

A major cinema chain just revealed that Episode 8 will be the longest film in the entire Star Wars franchise.

The Force Awakens was 135 minutes long, but the longest until now was Attack of the Clones, which clocked in at 142 minutes, but may have seemed longer for many unimpressed fans.

The Last Jedi has a lot of ground to cover as the original three trilogies approach their dramatic finale, and Johnson has apparently lavished two and a half hours of screen time on his movie.

WARNING POTENTIAL PLOT SPOILERS

With The Last Jedi officially clocking in at 150 minutes according to Cineworld listings, whoch matches earlier leaked reports, should fans fear that it will drag?

Unlikely. The teasers and trailers have already revealed there are numerous major scenes to be covered, from the opening evacuation of D-qar, to the Battle of Crait.

In between that, fans can expect Rey to start her Jedi training before some mysterious drama separates her from Luke and she ends up being tortured by Snoke on his flagship, the Supremacy.

Meanwhile, Rose and Ginn will go on a mission to Canto Bight to meet Benicio del Toro’s DJ before they embark on a dangerous mission to infiltrate the Supremacy.

This is also where Princes Harry and William will pop up as Stormtroopers in a lift.

Kylo Ren must face a choice when he is about to open fire on his mother’s (General Leia) ship. It is also hinted by the trailers that he will try to help Rey understand her powers.

Many also believe he will betray his master Snoke at some point.

Most exciting of all are the still unconfirmed rumours that Kylo Ren, Rey, Luke and the Knights of Ren will have an epic confrontation on Ahch-To.

150 minutes simply doesn’t seem like long enough…
