Sarah Ferguson, Prince Andrew’s ex wife, reveals ‘the one thing she has done well’

Sarah Ferguson, 58, has spoken out about her mothering skills in an interview.

The Duchess of York is a mother to Princess Beatrice, 29, and Princess Eugenie, 27, with Prince Andrew, a son of the Queen.

Sarah Ferguson married Prince Andrew in 1986, however, they divorced in 1996 after officially separating in 1992.

The couple famously still share a close relationship, and Sarah told the Telegraph in August 2013 in reference to Andrew: “He’s still my handsome prince, he’ll always be my handsome prince.”

The former-royal has now revealed further insight into the close knit ties in her family.

She said: “A table can’t stand on three legs, really, so you have the Duke and I, and the two girls. We’re a family unit and we lead by example. We support each other emotionally, and we support each other health wise.

“At least every two weeks we sit down together and communicate, the four of us.”

The Duchess, who has published various books with Weight Watchers such as Dieting with the Duchess, revealed she is most proud of her mothering skills.

“I think the one thing I’ve done incredibly well – although I say it myself – is that I’m a really good mum. And I think that my girls show that,” she said, in an interview with Hello!

Will Sarah Ferguson be invited to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding?

It is not yet clear exactly who has made the invite list for the upcoming royal wedding of Prince Charles’ youngest son.

The Duchess was not invited to Kate Middleton and Prince William’s wedding, a fact she revealed on the Oprah Winfrey Show.

She said: “I was not invited, and I chose to go and be in Thailand in a place called Camelia and…the jungle embraced me.”

How did Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson meet

Initially, the couple met as children, but fell out of touch until they were adults.

In her autbiography, Sarah recalls sneaking away from her father’s polo matches as a child to “play tag with like-minded truants – including Prince Andrew, who was just my age.”

They met again when Fergie was invited by Princess Diana to a party at Windsor Castle, and their pair reportedly hit it off straight away.
