Rick Stein weight loss: Padstow restauranteur slims down by eating THIS for breakfast

Rick Stein, 71, born Christopher Richard Stein, is a British celebrity chef, television presenter and restauranteur.

He owns four restaurants in Padstow, and others elsewhere such as in Falmouth and Cornwall.

He has also appeared on a number of television shows, most recently Rick Stein’s Road to Mexico in 2017.

The talented chef has slimmed down over the years, thanks to a combination of dieting and exercise.

One of his stranger diet techniques includes eating chilli for his first meal of the day.

“I find that the heat from chilli counteracts hunger pangs, which I believe is why it’s so popular in the developing world.

“So I have a very spicy Vietnamese pho for breakfast,” he told the Guardian.

The chef revealed his unorthodox weight loss technique after gaining four kilos on holiday.

He also said he diets “regularly” and tries to eat less carbohydrates in order to drop weight.

“I’m dieting now. I’m nearly 6 ft and more than 15st; my ideal would be 14st. “I’m classed as ‘overweight’ but I’m not that fussed as I take enough exercise,” he told Daily Mail.

“I eat a lot of meat and veg and cut out the carbohydrates.”

He also told the publication that he swims in order to keep the weight off, as well as everyday exercise like climbing stairs.

“I make a point of not using escalators. I don’t go to the gym, but swim virtually every day in the sea in Cornwall, winter and summer.”

Another chef who has lost a lot of weight is Jamie Oliver’s weight loss.

It is known Jamie achieved a weight loss of 27 pounds – almost two stone – in recent years.

So how did he do it? It is believed he changed his diet in order to lose weight.

He told This Morning presenters Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield in 2015 that he ate “more” than before.

“I lost 12 kilos quite quickly and I didn’t do it through not eating. I ate a lot, more than I was used to,” he said.

His weight loss strategy included swapping meat-heavy meals for an extra serving of vegetables.

He also exercised more regularly and got more sleep, which is known to help slimmers achieve their goals.
