The prisoner, who now goes by the name of Charles Salvador, has been dubbed “the most violent prisoner in Britain” after being repeatedly denied release due to his behaviour inside jail.
However, the 64-year-old has now decided that he should be allowed conjugal visits in order to become a father to a baby from his fiancée, Paula Williamson.
Speaking to Richard and co-host Ranvir Singh, Paula started: “I’ve fallen in love with a man.”
But before she could finish, Richard, 61, interjected: “No you haven’t… What attracted you to Charles Bronson?”
The former Coronation Street star, 37, continued: “He’s an artist and he does a lot for charity.
“I fancy him. Before I made contact I thought he was just a thug but I read a book called Broadmoor and I found him funny and his soul was funny,” Paula added.
However, she became unstuck in her defence of him when she tried to insist that he has not committed a crime in years so he should be released from prison.
Richard had done his homework though, and was able to present a list of his criminal activity, proving that just last year, he attacked the governor.
Paula was having none of it, defending her lover, insisting that he told her differently.
However the former This Morning presenter turned to face the camera, saying: “I know you’re watching. Charlie, you know it was 2016.”
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV from 6am.
