Resident Evil 2 Remake’s first review has gone live ahead of the January 25 release date.
And there’s good news and bad news for fans of the survival horror classic.
The good news is that the Resident Evil 2 Remake has been given a near perfect review score.
Japanese publication Famitsu has awarded the Resident Evil 2 remake an incredible 37 out of 40.
That’s based on three 9/10 review scores and one perfect 10/10 score (via Gamingbolt).
The only bad news is that there’s still over a week to wait before we can get our hands on the game.
Fans can currently try the 1-Shot demo, which gives players just 30 minutes to complete a mission in Raccoon City.
As the name suggests, once the time is up, there’s no chance to return and play again.
Capcom explains more: “If players complete the mission objective under 30 minutes, they can restart the mission until they use up their full time.
“If players succumb to the zombies during their 30 minutes, they can continue any number of times until the full 30 minutes have been reached.”
The reward is a brand new cinematic trailer that can be viewed even when the demo time is up.
With only 30 minutes on the clock, Capcom has released a selection of tips and tricks to get you through.
Players are encouraged to scavenge items to survive, paying close attention to red rooms that still have items within.
Fans should also think about when to battle zombies. Capcom recommends shooting different body parts (like legs) if you want to slow zombies down and preserve ammo.
You should also check your inventory often, with time stopping when you’re in the menu screens.
