Rafael Nadal vs Marin Cilic LIVE: Updates from the Shanghai Masters semi-final

Rafael Nadal is on course to continue his stellar autumn and is one match away from the Shanghai Masters final.

The Spaniard won the China Open last Sunday and is seeking a one-two in the Far East.

In his way stands Marin Cilic, who has claimed just one ATP Tour title all year.

That was back in Istanbul on the clay and Cilic is certainly the underdog heading into this clash.

The match is scheduled to start at 9.30am UK time, before Roger Federer faces Juan Martin del Potro in the second match of the day.

Rafael Nadal vs Marin Cilic LIVE updates

Match starts around 9.30am

Nadal vs Cilic head to head

Nadal boasts a W4 L1 record over Cilic.

And the Spaniard has not lost since these two first met, back in 2009.

Cilic edged Nadal 6-1 6-3 in Beijing that day.

But since then it’s all been Nadal. Wins on the hard in Basel, Mexico and the Australian Open have come Nadal’s way.

He also edged Cilic 6-1 6-3 on the Rome clay back in 2011.

Welcome

Hello and welcome to our live coverage of Nadal vs Cilic.

Nadal is the strong favourite for this match and has dropped just one set all tournament at the Shanghai Masters.

But then again, Cilic himself has been in top form.

It sets up what could be a smashing semi-final, with the prospect of a Nadal vs Federer final still on the cards!
