Queen Elizabeth, 91, has a number of rules when travelling on state visits abroad, having travelled to many countries during her 65-year reign.
This includes how many people are in her entourage to her secret jet lag cure.
Within her iconic Launer handbag, there is one item the Queen always takes abroad with her.
The item is one that not many may think of using.
Within her handbag is a portable hook that she always takes when on visits outside of the palace.
This is so Her Royal Highness can put her bag on the hook if there when at an event.
Jean Willis, one of the Queen’s cousins was quoted in The Lady magazine in 2012 stating: “I watched the Queen open her handbag and remove a white suction cup and discretely spit into it.
“The Queen then attached the cup to the underside of the of the table. The cup had a hook on it, and she attached her handbag to it.”
The Queen is known for having other items in her handbag at all times including money.
A crisp £5 note that is often folded neatly to put into the church collection basket.
A source revealed to the Express in 2015: “Her butler irons a five pound note into a little square by folding it until you can only see her face.”
As well as this, it also includes reading glasses, a pen, lipstick and tissues.
It isn’t the only thing the Queen must always have when travelling abroad.
She must also have a black outfit at all times in the case of a royal death.
This is so that the appropriate attire can always be worn in the case of an emergency.
The Queen in 1952, was abroad without one upon the death of her father, George VI.
