Princess Charlotte birthday: Why didn’t Kate Middleton share pictures of her daughter?

Princess Charlotte, who turned three today, is the second child and only daughter of Kate Middleton, 36, and Prince William, 35.

To commemorate her third birthday today, Kensington Palace have tweeted in the young princess’ honour.

The tweet, captioned “Wishing HRH Princess Charlotte a very Happy 3rd Birthday!”, is accompanied by a picture of Princess Charlotte wearing a red coat, which was taken on her first day at Willcocks Nursery in January 2018.

However, no new pictures have been shared of Charlotte to mark the special occasion.

Traditionally, Kate and Prince William have marked their children’s birthdays with new photographs, many of which are taken by the Duchess of Cambridge herself.

The royal family have chosen not to publicise a picture of Charlotte for a special reason, according to a royal expert.

It is because they do not want to “overexpose” their three children to the public, it is said.

“William and Kate won’t want to overexpose their children,” Penny Junor, a British journalist and writer who has written books about the royals, told ELLE UK.

“They have never been entirely conventional so I imagine they might release a photo in their own time, and it might be one Kate takes herself.

“A photo to commemorate the new baby’s birth is hardly excessive however, and I would say, for historical purposes, it is important for there to be one.”

When will we see another picture of new royal baby, Prince Louis? It is expected to be soon.

Kate Middleton gave birth to her third child, son Prince Louis, on April 23 2018.

It is expected a family portrait including the child will be released at some point this month.

This is based on what happened with Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

Kate and Prince William released pictures of Prince George within weeks of his birth, while pictures of Princess Charlotte were released a month after she was born.

On the day of the royal baby birth last month, a video showed Prince George’s adorable gesture to protect Princess Charlotte.

Video footage shows the children letting go of their father William’s hands as they walk into the corridor.

The video then shows young George putting a protective arm around his sister’s shoulders as the doors closed behind them.

This touching gestures hints at the truly loving relationship between brother and sister even out of the public glare.

In the adorable video, Princess Charlotte seems to return the gesture in a spit second before the doors close.
